Another month, another set. Kurt was giddy, he had good news he wanted to share with everyone but he wanted to tell Sebastian first, even though Elliott presented himself first. He was able to hold back from bursting out the information for all to hear. He owed it to Sebastian to tell him first, and he frankly just wanted to tell Sebastian first and in private.

First he, Elliott and Lia had to get through this set. It was at a bigger venue and so he actually invited his friends and Sebastian to it. It wasn't big enough to drag his family from Ohio to it but his friends that lived in town definitely could come now. He wasn't embarrassed by it's space or attendants. Even Blaine was in attendance, though he sat away from the others, not welcomed by them nor even really by Kurt, just accepting that Blaine always showed up to his sets. As long as he didn't approach, it was fine.

Blaine was glaring as he and Elliott did a playful number where Lia only offered up backup vocals. He spun and sank into a soulful duet with her too and then Elliott and Lia sang another song. Then the three of them took turns and sang together on another song. Then a couple of solos from each of them with the others either playing instruments or singing backup.

Elliott and Kurt finished out the night with another duet and that frown deepened on Blaine's face, though Kurt wasn't looking at him. It's echo on Sebastian's had him nearly faltering, did they sound bad?

They were just the opening band and cleaned up and cleared out for the main event who would have a couple of breaks in their set through the rest of the night. Kurt slid onto Sebastian's lap when they had Lia's van loaded up again and were staying to enjoy the rest of the entertainment. Elliott and Lia had lingered outside and Kurt had a moment alone with Sebastian. "What's going on?" He asked sliding his fingers through Sebastian's hair.

"You were flirting with him again." Sebastian said tensely and tersely. He had been sitting with Rachel and Santana and Kurt wondered if they'd been whispering in his ear to make him this upset.

"It was part of the show. Guess where I am now?" Kurt wiggled and Sebastian's pupils dilated but focused on him too in a way he wasn't before. "We have a little bit of cover..." Kurt hinted and Sebastian growled low in his throat and trapped Kurt against him rather than take the bait to do something more elsewhere before coming back. "No?" Kurt asked innocently and Sebastian nearly rethought what he was doing.

"You're not distracting me from my point. You were flirting with him."

"Not for real and I was doing the same fake flirtation with Lia. Elliott and Lia had a fake flirtation going on up there too."

"You sang a love song with him." Sebastian continued.

"Most songs are love songs in some way." Kurt pointed out. "Most of the good ones at least."

"It's not the same-"

"Kurt?" Blaine's voice cut in to their private conversation and two sets of annoyed eyes landed on Blaine and he nearly backed out. "Sorry, could I talk to you for a moment?"

"No." Sebastian snapped and Kurt wasn't going to say anything different.

"It's about the set and the band." Blaine tried. "I know we haven't talked much over the years and when we have it's been polite and brief. What you don't know is that I work for a record label now and my boss wanted to meet you." He'd been sitting with a female wearing very hipster-like clothing that Kurt hadn't paid any attention to other than noting that they were labels and not the genuine street clothes. But labels meant money.

"Now's not the best time, Blaine." Kurt said in response, knowing his argument with Sebastian was more important.

"Oh, wait, this is a chance Kurt- go on, what we're talking about will keep." It had been a conversation they'd been having for months already without being able to resolve it, so Kurt supposed that was true enough.

"Are you sure?" He turned to Sebastian. "I don't want to leave this unsettled-".

"Go." Sebastian urged and Kurt pressed a kiss to Sebastian's mouth briefly and chastely.

Kurt followed Blaine over to the woman and sat with them to discuss what she had to say. Kurt thought for sure it was just critiques.

He was over there longer than he thought he would be and he glanced back at his table to see that Elliott and Sebastian were talking without any of the females around. Lia was at the bar talking with Santana, he realized it was the first time they'd met. Rachel was attempting to add to their conversation but they were both ignoring her. Soon Rachel would get fed up and head back to Sebastian and Elliott and try to monopolize Elliott's attention. He wanted to get Elliott and Lia's attention, what Blaine's boss was talking about affected all of them.

His eyes kept going back to Sebastian and Elliott, they were both gesturing but Elliott seemed to be trying to shrink back and look unobtrusive. Sebastian looked irritated as hell.

Finally he got Lia's attention and he waved her over. She stopped at the table with the two males and brought Elliott with her to Kurt's side. The record woman laid out what she thought and had planned. It hadn't just been critique thought there was definitely some of that too, record companies would always want to tweak.

She suggested that they all wore dark purple leather at the next gig. Kurt thought it was a tad on the nose but agreed to try it. She gave them her card, she'd be at the next show and would have an offer for them if it went how she thought it would.

Kurt let Elliott pocket it. He had been surprised by the good results and thanked Blaine for the meeting. Then he headed back toward Sebastian. Elliott caught his hand and pulled him close for a moment. "Sebastian's in right form today." Elliott warned.

Kurt sighed, he knew why, it was their second anniversary of the first time they slept together. Sebastian was probably irritated by the perceived interest in another guy and lack of attention. Except when Kurt offered to get out of there for a little while to do more, he'd been turned down. "Thanks." Kurt headed back to Sebastian and took the seat next to him.

Except this time, Sebastian looked happy and he linked hands with Kurt, even kissing him on the cheek in greeting. Even Rachel and Santana's presence wasn't enough to deter his good mood. Kurt wasn't going to argue with it and by the end of the night was just as giddy and went home with Sebastian.

Later that evening as Sebastian's head was cushioned on Kurt's chest and Kurt's fingers running through Sebastian's hair, Kurt couldn't help but ask. "What was the sudden mood changer?" It hadn't been him, and that hurt in some ways but he'd thought he was the reason Sebastian was annoyed to begin with.

"I had a talk with Elliott. Apparently he made a go for you and you turned him down flat." Sebastian turned his head to grin at Kurt. "In fact, he told me that he tried both before we met and also after we'd been together for awhile."

"I don't know why you're so worried about him. I keep telling you that you're the one I want to be with. I choose you."

"I never thought it was a choice before." Sebastian admitted and shifted so he was eye to eye with Kurt. "I always thought that it was just a matter of Elliott not wanting you but if he ever asked you'd drop me fast." Sebastian ran his fingers along Kurt's side, from hip and moving higher. "But it wasn't that way, it was the opposite. He asked and you said no, even before there was even a me in the picture. You didn't want him, ever, did you?"

"I didn't." Kurt agreed. "And he asked again but I wasn't even tempted. Everyone keeps telling me I should be with him and maybe we'd be good together but he wasn't who I wanted."

"We're not good together?"

"We're excellent together, nobody seems to see it though." Kurt linked his fingers with the hand on his side. "But I see it. I don't think they're right though, I think Elliott and I would be ok but never good together. Not right for each other. I kept telling you this, you just never listened."

"I guess I needed to hear it from another source with so many others saying the opposite."

"What did we learn about listening to my friends?"

"That their opinion is worthless?" Sebastian stroked the back of Kurt's hand with his thumb. "Except when it comes to your health."

Kurt's lips twisted wryly. "Except for that." He agreed.

"There's not going to be another guy who turns your head, is there?" Sebastian was just not sure he could trust that and he shouldn't.

But he should trust what Kurt said next. "There could be, but nobody who I would want to destroy what we have together for. Don't you worry about that. I'm with you, no where else I want to be."
