In all the chaos of the night, Kurt forgot to tell everyone what happened. He shared it with Sebastian that morning. He had gotten the position he auditioned for and was more excited about it than he'd been with all the other hopeful positions before it.
Then they had their next set and they were offered a record label. Kurt and the other two signed the contract after a couple of looks through the contract to make sure the agreement was reasonable.
"You're going to be on the road all the time now." Sebastian complained. "And rooming with Elliott."
"Still worried about him?"
"No, just concerned that I won't be able to surprise you and be able to have sex with you in your room, we'll have an interloper." Sebastian was practically pouting and Kurt kissed the look off his face.
"Well, just book a private room and I can share it with you if you come out to surprise us." Kurt answered wisely and Sebastian laughed at how smart it was.
"What about the other position?" Sebastian asked in concern and Kurt paused. "Won't they need you?"
"We only do weekend shows." Kurt looked over his outfits in their garment bags. The label had determined what they'd wear as a collective. Kurt had given in, he had some say but overall it was fine. It actually looked nice with the others and he'd been trying for too long to get them to look like a collective unit rather than three people off the street. The label was able to force them into it and let him off the hook. "We do all our recording during the week at the station and it still leaves time to do the record recordings."
"But no time for me." That pout was back on Sebastian's face and Kurt pushed him into the bed and crawled over him.
"There's always time for my boyfriend." Kurt bent down and kissed Sebastian, giving him the attention he so obviously was wanting and needing.
"I love you." Sebastian said against his lips and Kurt didn't even falter, knowing that Sebastian likely didn't realize what he'd said and didn't want to get into a big fight at the moment. He wanted to relish those words without letting Sebastian get wound up.
Sebastian stilled him with his hands and pulled his lips away and looked at Kurt. Kurt expected sheer panic over the realization of what he'd said. "Didn't you hear what I said?" Sebastian checked in concern. "I love you."
"You're saying it willingly and wanting me to hear it?" Kurt was shocked.
"This is not something I'm afraid to say."
"You still can't call us boyfriends." Kurt pointed out, hard to believe this much more drastic and important thing was coming out of his boyfriend's mouth.
"I know we're – and I – but I do love you and that's something I can easily say. Are you having trouble saying it in return?"
"Boyfriend?" Kurt frowned down in confusion. "Of course not, I say it all the time."
"No, do you love me?"
"Of course I do." Kurt did too.
"Then can you say it? I'm kind of hanging out on a ledge here on my own and I don't have any life-lines. If you don't say it, I might never be able to say it again to you or anyone else."
"Ok first of all that's blackmail if I've ever heard it." Kurt poked Sebastian's chest. "Which then cheapens what I'm about to say."
"It won't." Sebastian reassured quickly. "I will still cherish it."
"Say boyfriend."
"Boyfriend." Sebastian said it easily.
"Say my boyfriend or I'm your boyfriend."
"My..." Sebastian frowned. "I'm your..." The frown deepened. "I need to be able to say this to get what I want to hear said back?" Kurt nodded. "Talk about blackmail and bribery."
"I deserve it, I've earned it." Kurt held his ground.
"My... love." Sebastian tried. "My love, you're my love, I'm your love, well at least I hope so."
Kurt compromised, that was more important and intimate than boyfriend any day. "Ok, your love, I can take that one as a substitute. You have to keep saying it though." Sebastian nodded quickly. "I love you too, boyfriend."
The smile that lit up Sebastian's face was brilliant and Kurt had to squint against the sheer magnitude of it. "It really makes you this happy?" Kurt checked.
"Of course, doesn't it make you deliriously happy?"
Kurt rested his chin on Sebastian's sternum and just looked at his boyfriend's happy green eyes and the smile he couldn't keep off his face. Elliott was just a distant memory and now the two boys were starting to become friends. He didn't have to worry about Sebastian being jealous about the time he spent with Elliott any more. Sebastian finally trusted him and had opened up enough to tell him something so close to his heart, in his heart. "Of course it does." Kurt finally said. "More than you could ever guess."
Maybe they could finally put their pasts behind them and move on. Maybe the arguments would cease and there was hope that things could finally be peaceful between them. He looked over Sebastian's face and knew peaceful and no arguments was never going to be a thing for them.
The girls would always try to interfere and tell them they shouldn't be together but whenever they pulled up Elliott as an example, if wouldn't have any effect. They could bring up Blaine all they wanted, if they dared go that route, but they wouldn't because the idea of Blaine would be shot down quickly. They could try to harken on Sebastian's past but it would have no legs.
Finn would continue to try and break them up.
There was just a few things though that Finn didn't realize, not only did they have Tiffany on their side but they had Carole too. And they had Burt, who'd seen how emotionally wrought Sebastian had been, how into Kurt he was and had heard Kurt's side of things. He wasn't going to let anything infect that relationship from their end.
"Love." Sebastian murmured against Kurt's hair, somehow they'd switched up positions. "What are you thinking?"
"That while you're a long way from a booty call, I don't think I would mind one right now." Sebastian laughed and indulged in Kurt's request.
Nobody knew what the future would bring, but as long as they faced it together, they'd be good.
