Chapter 3
"Arizona, I hear you've been having some headaches" Rose, the nurse said once they were inside the exam room
"she had a bad one yesterday" Callie said
"I can speak for myself" Arizona snapped
"sorry" Callie said cowering back in her chair
"sorry" Arizona whispered "I had a bad one yesterday"
"ok" she said typing something into the computer "when you get them how do they make you feel?"
"I forget things, like yesterday I forgot what day it was"
"you thought it was my birthday" Callie quietly said
"no, that was a joke" Arizona smiled "but when I said that to Susan I literally didn't know what day it was, even though you just told me"
"oh" Rose said typing some more "what kind of pain was it?"
"it started as a dull ache, but by the time we left the studio it was throbbing"
"I see" she said "let me get your blood pressure" she reached across grabbing the cuff putting it on Arizona's arm. "hmm" she said turning to the computer again. "alright the doctor will be in shortly" she said standing and leaving
"that didn't sound good" Arizona said sitting back in her chair
"well, that's why we are here" Callie said reaching for her hand
"I'm sorry I snapped at you"
"it's ok, I'm here to help, I might step on your toes every so often, I have a problem with that" Callie frowned
"it's ok, that's what I need" Arizona smiled reaching over touching Callie's cheek. "you're what I need" Callie felt herself turn to a pile of mush, she always did when Arizona talked to her like that.

"well Arizona, it looks like everything is good, your blood pressure is a little high, but nothing we can't get under control"
"what caused the headache" Callie asked
"my best guess would be stress, you explained that it started once you got the call from your boss?" Arizona nodded "and it escalated from there?"
"yes" Arizona said
"alright, I'm going to try some different medication for that, if it gets worse come back in, hopefully this will take care of the issue" he smiled
"thank you doctor" Arizona smiled
"here take this" he handed her a paper prescription "get it filled asap, it will take a few days, but after that you should be good to go" he smiled
"ok" Arizona said looking at the paper as they stood to leave.

"you want to drop that off?" Callie asked once they were in the car
"yeah probably should" Arizona sighed "I just hate the fact that I'll be on pills for the rest of my life"
"it'll be ok" Callie said pulling into the parking lot of the pharmacy
"and I really don't want to go on that tour" Arizona sighed "hey do you think I could get the doctor to say I can't?"
"I doubt that" Callie laughed
"worth a shot" Arizona smiled, Callie just shook her head shutting the car off. Arizona pulled out her phone calling the doctors office. "really" Callie whispered she saw Arizona smile and nod. "hi this is Arizona Robbins"
"Arizona didn't you just leave? Is everything ok?" Rose the nurse she had when she was there asked concerned
"yes, um I had a quick question for Dr. Shepard"
"ok"
"I was wondering if maybe he could" Arizona paused starting to laugh realizing how ridiculous it sounded "sorry, I just realized how ridiculous it sounds, but I was wondering if he could write me a note to get out of going on tour" she finished trying to hide her laugh
"well, do you think it's going to raise your blood pressure"
"have you ever been on tour?" Arizona laughed
"um, well no" Rose chuckled
"I clearly didn't think this through"
"I'll see what he says, Arizona, just take it easy and before hand try not to get too worked up and relax, spend time with your amazing girlfriend"
"thanks" Arizona looked at Callie smiling "I will"
"I'll have him call you, and you can talk to him about it"
"sounds good thank you Rose"
"anytime" she could hear her smile into the phone as she said it, then hung up.
"you realized how ridiculous it sounded?" Callie laughed
"I did, but she said she'll have him call me" Arizona smiled, Callie shook her head again "come on, let's get this prescription filled so we can go home, I need a nap"
"me too" Arizona winked opening the car door and getting out. Callie didn't bother waiting as she climbed out. Arizona met her at the front of the car reaching for her hand. As they made their way into the store.

"hi honey what did the good doc say?" Daniel asked hearing them come in
"high blood pressure, I'm supposed to keep calm and carry on" Arizona laughed causing Callie to roll her eyes
"she's trying to get him to write her a note to get her out of going on tour"
"nice" Daniel laughed "you really are my daughter"
"see told you it was a good idea" Arizona kissed Callie's cheek and went into the kitchen in search of something to drink so she could take her pills.
"please don't entice her" Callie laughed, this family was going to be the death of her, sometimes she thanked god that Teddy lived in Colorado, she couldn't imagine what it'd be like to have her here full time. Shaking the thought away as Arizona came out with two bottles of water "you ready?" she nodded towards the stairs, Callie smiled and followed her.
"have a good nap girls" Daniel said from the living room.

"thank you for going to the doctor with me" Arizona said once the door was closed, she set the waters down on the nightstand, turning around, pushing Callie up against the door, kissing her.
"Arizona, the doctor told you to relax" Callie said her breathing was heavy
"this is relaxing" Arizona said going in for Callie's neck, Callie couldn't do anything but let out a moan. They hadn't had sex since the first time almost a week ago, she so badly wanted Arizona, and the feeling of Arizona's mouth on her neck really made it hard for her to resist. Giving up, letting out the breath she was holding, she smiled as Arizona pulled her away from the door, unbuttoning her pants on the way to the bed. "not saying you weren't beautiful" Arizona smiled, Callie gave her a look "where am I going with this?"
"I don't know but you better tread carefully" Arizona couldn't help but laugh, as she flipped them over, hovering over Callie looking into her eyes, she couldn't help but be in awe. "I love you" she whispered
"I love you too" Callie reached up moving the hair out of Arizona's face, Arizona's hair always went everywhere, it was long down to about the middle of her back. Arizona sat back tying it up, like she often did. Callie couldn't help herself, reaching up cupping her breasts. Closing her eyes at the feeling, Arizona let out a small moan. "I don't know, maybe you should shut it off" Callie laughed feeling the cool air hit her chest as Arizona moved to get her phone "oh it's the doctor" she smiled hitting the button "hello"
"Arizona, this is Dr. Shepard"

"Rose told me you called with a question"
"yeah" Arizona laughed, "I know it sounds rather ridiculous, but I was wondering if there was anyway you could get me out of the tour"
"well" he paused "how stressful do you think its going to be" Arizona looked at Callie, shrugging her shoulders "honestly it all depends sometimes it goes off just fine, other times everyone is pulling their hair out"
"yeah I understand that" he laughed "how long is the tour?"
"it's 4 shows in 2 weeks" Arizona went on to explain where the shows were
"ok, I see, um" he said, "when are you supposed to leave?"
"Tuesday" Arizona sighed
"ok, let me see what I can do, I'll call you back tomorrow"
"really Dr. Shepard, it'll be fine, Callie's coming with so"
"ok, if you change your mind give me or Rose a call" he said "have a good day"
"thank you, and you too" she said pressing the end call button and tossing her phone on the bed, with a sigh "he can't do anything for you?" Callie had to hold back a laugh
"no, he was going to look into it, but I decided just to go and get it over with. It is only 4 shows, and I'll get to spend some time with Teddy"
"good" Callie smiled "I'm looking forward to being away from home for a bit, besides the cities you are going to have pretty amazing views, maybe we can" Callie was cut off by a knock on the door "girls lunch is ready if you're hungry" Barbara said
"thanks mom, we'll be right down" Arizona said standing up "come on, I'm starving"
"I bet you are" Callie smiled, she too was feeling the effect of their mid-morning workout.

"Arizona I'm going to head home for a bit, haven't seen my dad in a while" Callie said once they were done cleaning up from lunch
"ok" Arizona smiled
"Callie, why don't you invite him over for dinner, it would be nice to see him again" Barbara said
"ok" Callie nodded walking over to Arizona, giving her a kiss "I'll see you later" Arizona just smiled, no words were coming to her. "I love you" Callie whispered
"I love you too" Arizona finally managed to get out, but only after Callie was out of the room. Shaking her head, she saw her mother laughing "what's so funny"
"you" Barbara laughed "and her, you two are hilarious"
"thanks mom" Arizona frowned
"no, like in a good way" Barbara said setting the towel she was using to dry the dishes down on the counter "sorry honey, I'm just not used to seeing you with a girl yet"
"I know the feeling" Arizona smiled
"Callie's amazing"
"she is" Arizona looked at her "I'm afraid I'm going to mess this up"
"oh honey, I don't think anything is going to push Callie away, she told me that she's had a crush on you for forever"
"I know mom" Arizona sighed "I just"
"do you love her"
"yes" Arizona said without hesitation "more than I've loved anyone"
"you sure it's just not because it's new"
"no" Arizona shook her head "it's" she smiled "it's the real deal with Callie"
"I mean, I'm sorry but you said that about Mark too"
"I know, but this is different" Arizona smiled thinking about their love making a few hours ago
"I believe you honey" Barbara smiled "now I have to figure something for dinner, any recommendations?"
"lasagna" Arizona smiled, it was her favorite especially the way her mom made it.
"that sounds good, I haven't made it in a while" Barbara went over to the freezer pulling out some hamburger "gotta get that thawing" she put it in the sink "shit, I don't know if we have" she walked over to the pantry "dammit, have to go to the store, you want to go with?"
"I'd love to" Arizona smiled

"dad are you here?" Callie called through the house
"in here" he called back, he was sitting at the piano that sat in a corner in the living room.
"everything alright?" she asked seeing him cross something out on the notebook he had in front of him
"yeah, I just had an idea for a song, but it's not coming together right" Carlos was an amateur song writer, he wrote a few songs back in the day, but nothing that became popular
"maybe you should have Arizona look at it"
"it's no where near done yet" he smiled tossing the pen down on the notebook
"when it's done" Callie smiled walking into the room
"speaking of Arizona" he leaned back seeing if she was with
"she's at home" she smiled
"I'm surprised she let you out of her sight"
"that'd be the other way around" Callie murmured
"what?"
"nothing, um Barbara and Daniel wanted me to invite you to dinner"
"oh, um" Carlos looked around
"got other plans?" Callie laughed
"no, I just" he looked at his daughter smiling "I'd love too"
"great I'll let them know" Callie pulled out her phone sending Arizona a text
"why are you home?"
"I wanted to spend some time with you" Callie smiled sitting down on the couch "had to take Arizona to the doctor this morning, she's been getting some pretty bad headaches"
"is everything ok?" he asked standing from the bench, making his way to his chair
"yeah, her blood pressure was too high" Callie sighed "she said it was a dull ache until April called wanted her to come into the office, we went, but by the time we left she was forgetting shit and she said it was throbbing"
"that's not good, what did the doc say?"
"he put her on some different meds, and said to try and relax" Callie smiled, thinking about Arizona's idea of relaxing
"what got her upset yesterday?"
"April told her she wants her to go on tour"
"April, is her boss?" he asked trying to keep all the new people in his daughters life straight.
"her manager yes, or well she was, or is" Callie laughed at herself
"so, is she going?"
"she has to, it's in the contract, she had this crazy idea to get the doctor to write her a note getting her out of it, but I think she changed her mind" Carlos laughed shaking his head "I told her I'd go with"
"that's awesome honey, where is it going to be"
"I'm not too sure" Callie smiled "it's 4 shows, we'll only be gone 2 weeks, the first show is in Denver"
"well that should be fun, she can see her sister, she lives in Denver, right?"
Callie nodded "that's what I said, she was all 'I just seen Teddy, had enough of her'" Callie laughed doing her best Arizona voice
"you're funny" he laughed
"I'm going to go work on that story"
"what's it about again?" he asked, she had told him when she started writing it, but he forgot "Arizona and I" Callie smiled
"ok" Carlos smiled "let me know when they want us there for dinner"
"I will" Callie smiled standing up, kissing the top of his head "eww" she wiped her mouth
"I don't know why you keep doing that, it always has the same result"
"I don't know either" Callie laughed leaving the room.

"are you staying with me tonight?" Callie asked as they pulled up in front of her house.
"that depends" Arizona smiled nervously
"on what?"
"on rather or not you still want to be with me after meeting my family" Arizona smiled nervously
"why would meeting your family have anything to do with me wanting to be with you?" Callie asked confused, Arizona had warned her how her family was. And if she was honest, she loved the fact that they were the way they were.
"my family is crazy" Arizona giggled
"actually" she paused moving in the seat to be able to look at Arizona "I find it cool, I love how laid back everyone is, and how you can talk about anything with your parents. I especially love how they don't bat an eye at the fact that you and Teddy are both gay" Arizona just smiled, it was at the moment, she realized she was completely in love with Callie "that and it's nice to be a part of a family again"
"so you're not breaking up with me?" Arizona giggled
"nope, you're stuck with me" Callie reached for her hand "now, are you staying with me tonight"
"yes" was all Arizona could get out without her emotions getting the better of her.
"good" Callie said reaching for the door handle. Arizona sat there contemplating what was just said, and her feelings. They hadn't been together all that long, she couldn't figure out why or how, she could have fallen so deeply in love with Callie already. "are you coming" Callie asked already standing outside the car.
"yes" Arizona said turning off the car and taking the key out. Walking around the car Callie grabbed her. "I had an amazing time tonight" she said placing a soft kiss on her lips. Pulling away and grabbing her hand. The door had barely gotten closed when Callie had Arizona pinned up against it. Breathing heavy, Callie pulled back, brushing the hair out of Arizona's eyes she whispered, "make love to me." Arizona didn't say anything just pushed herself off the door, grabbing Callie's hand she led the way to the bedroom. Feeling a little nervous, yeah, they'd spent nights together, but they hadn't taken their relationship to the next level. Laying Callie on the bed she felt her tremble beneath her. Pulling back, so she could look in her eyes "are you sure? Because once I start I'm not going to be able to stop" Callie nodded smiling, pulling Arizona back into the heated kiss.

"hmm" Callie said out loud "that's so not how it went, but it sounds good" she was reading through what she had already wrote, with a little help from Arizona and what she remembered of her dream. She began typing, letting her mind wander as she did so. Her phone ringing almost scaring her to death. She smiled when she looked down seeing Arizona's name, she picked it up "hey beautiful"
"hey yourself" Callie could hear the smile in Arizona's voice "what are you up to?"
"just doing some writing"
"oh? What are you working on?"
"just a story" Callie smiled "something I've been working on for a while" she said saving what she had wrote, and closing her laptop "dad wants to know what time dinner is"
"um it's usually around 6" Arizona said
"alright we'll be there by then"
"good" Arizona sighed then whispered into the phone "I miss you"
"I miss you too"
"mostly I miss the feeling of your lips on me" hearing that made Callie sit up straighter in the chair "oh" she cleared her throat
"mmhmm"
"guess I'll have to make it before 6" Callie smiled
"nah 6 is fine, I just wanted to get you all worked up" Arizona laughed
"I hate you" Callie laughed "now I have to take a shower"
"no, don't I promise I'll take care of it later"
"you better" Callie sighed
"oh the reason I called" Arizona laughed
"I thought you called to say you loved me"
"well that too" Arizona smiled "my dad set up an interview for you, um, I forgot when he said"
"ok, I'll talk to him about it at dinner"
"ok" Arizona smiled, making a kissing noise "I love you"
"I love you too" Callie smiled
"I'll see you in a few hours"
"yes, a few hours" Callie said looking at the clock
"Calliope"
"yeah"
"do not take a shower I want you ready and waiting"
"baby I'm always ready for you" she whispered
"good" Arizona said hanging up the phone. Sighing Callie pulled the phone away from her ear, tossing it on the desk in front of her she sat back in her chair "ugh" she shook her head trying to get her mind on something other than Arizona's lips all over her. Hearing the piano, she stood up making her way to the living room. Standing in the doorway, she watched her dad play, he started to sing softly, unaware he had an audience. "oh hi" he smiled
"hi, I didn't mean to" Callie smiled "dad that was amazing"
"thanks honey" Callie could see a slight shade of red on his cheeks
"6 sound good?"
"yeah" he smiled looking at the clock
"we can go whenever"
"I just" he started to say
"don't be nervous, Daniel and Barbara are awesome"
"I know, I just" he started to say but Callie cut him off "well let's go then" she nodded towards the door "I'm ready when you are"
"missing Arizona, are we?"
"always" Callie smiled, as her dad passed her

"Callie what did I tell you about ringing the bell, you practically live here, just walk in" Barbara smiled
"sorry, I'll try and remember" Callie said looking down like she was being punished
"hello Carlos, do come in" she said moving out of the way, so they could enter the house "Arizona is in her room" she nodded towards the stairs "and Daniel is in the living room watching the Twins play Detroit"
"oh" Carlos perked up at the mention of a baseball game
"go on in" Barbara nodded. Callie smiled her dad loved baseball, more specifically the Minnesota Twins. "I'm just going" Callie nodded towards the stairs. She stopped outside of Arizona's door, which was partially open. Peaking in she saw Arizona sitting on her bed, her guitar on her knee. What was up with her and catching people playing today. She stood there quietly listening to Arizona sing softly "And in the morning I'm leaving, making my way back to Madison, So tonight I hope that I will do just fine, And I don't see how you could ever be anything but mine" she finished the last part looking up seeing Callie standing in the door way. "I thought I heard the doorbell" she smiled
"yeah, your mom yelled at me" Callie laughed "my dad is watching baseball with your dad"
"awesome" Arizona said moving her guitar off her lap, as Callie made her way into the room, Arizona stood up from the bed, pushing Callie back, slamming the door shut, pushing Callie up against it. Arizona began kissing her, in her mind she tried getting her to stop but she knew it was too late now, as Arizona moved to her neck, sucking softly on her pulse point, making Callie moan. Somewhere inside her she found the will power to push them off the door and back to the bed. "if we're going to do this now, we're going to do it my way" she whispered ripping off her shirt. Arizona didn't say anything, the smile on her face let Callie know she was alright with it.

"I just can't get enough of you" Arizona smiled into Callie's bare chest
"apparently" Callie smiled, Arizona lifted her head, moving she placed a soft kiss on Callie's lips, pulling back "we should probably get downstairs I'm sure they are wondering where we are"
"nah I think we're good" she knew her dad knew what was going on, he had a sixth sense for that, scaring Callie a little
"we should still get down there, I'm sure dinner is ready" Arizona said looking at the clock it was almost 6 "thanks for coming early"
"did I have a choice" Callie smiled remembering how Arizona was on the phone
"no, I suppose not"
Looking in the mirror above Arizona's dresser, "bitch" Callie said noticing she had a mark on her neck, not a very dark one, but her dad was sure to notice. Sending up a silent prayer he would not embarrass her too much in front of the Robbins's. "sorry, guess I got carried away"
"you guess you got carried away" Callie shook her head, "come on I'm hungry"

"well it's about time" Barbara said once they were finally downstairs
"sorry mom, I was, um working on a song and"
"I helped her" Callie chimed in quickly, looking at Carlos, she knew he saw the mark on her neck, by the look on his face. She gave him a 'shut up' look as they heard Barbara say dinner was ready.

"so, Arizona, are you going home with us?" Carlos asked between bites
"um" Arizona said moving in her chair, she felt Callie's hand on her thigh "I, um" she couldn't talk as Callie's hand rose higher
"yes, she is" Callie answered for her
"you two sure have been spending a lot of time together" Daniel said with his mouthful of food. Arizona reached down, moving Callie's hand, she was almost to her most sensitive area. Clearing her throat "isn't that what people do when they are in a relationship?"
"your sister was surprised to see you two weren't living together yet" Barbara commented as she took a bite of her lasagna. Arizona couldn't say anything, turning she looked at Callie, who piped in "we're taking things slow"
"a little too slow if you ask me" Carlos smiled, winking at his daughter
"dad" Callie laughed, completely pulling her hand off Arizona's leg.
"what? When your mother and I got together we were living together within a year, how long as it been with you two?"
"6 months" Arizona said looking at Callie
"you're more than welcomed to move in here" Barbara said not looking up from her plate "as you know we have plenty of room"
Arizona and Callie were both in shock of the conversation, neither one of them could say anything. "I love having you at home, but you do what's best for you" Carlos smiled
"um, I don't know if we're ready for that step yet" Arizona said swallowing hard. She'd thought about them living together but nothing had been brought up between the two of them.
"your sister didn't waste any time, they were living together right away" Barbara said, Arizona took a deep breath "that's because Teddy moved to a different state to be with Addie"
"well" Barbara looked up, smiling at her daughter "I'm just saying"
"can we please change this conversation" Arizona muttered
"right Daniel, Arizona told me you" Callie said
"yes" he wiped his mouth with his napkin "I was supposed to set up an interview time with you"
"I'm pretty open"
"yeah you are" Arizona pretended to cough, as Callie squeezed her leg, trying not to laugh "alright how's Monday at 10 sound?" Callie nodded with a smile "we'll have the interview out of the way, then you can watch the 11 o'clock news from behind the scenes, see how everything works"
"that sounds amazing Daniel, thank you for the opportunity"
"anytime" he smiled.

"I'll meet you there, I have to grab a few things" Arizona said kissing Callie
"ok" Callie whispered then turned to Barbara "thank you for having us"
"yes, thank you, I had a good time" Carlos smiled
"we'll do it again" Daniel said reaching for Carlos's hand to shake it.
"sounds good" Carlos smiled as Callie reached for the door

"I hope I didn't embarrass you too much in there" Carlos smiled climbing into the car
"no, I just" Callie sighed sliding into the passenger seat
"what's up?"
"I, um, I want to live with Arizona, I'm tired of this who's place are we staying at tonight bullshit"
"I know, I can tell" Carlos frowned starting the car
"but, is it too soon?" Callie asked "I mean her, and Mark were engaged, and they weren't living together"
"that's because she was on tour most the time" Carlos said hoping to put her mind at ease
"I know but" Callie trailed off looking out the window.
