Chapter 12

"I change my mind, let's go home" Teddy said, they were sitting in the parking lot of the diner they were meeting Irene at. Arizona suggested they meet at the diner across from her office.

"too late now, come on lets get this over with then we can go home and drink" Arizona said reaching for the door handle.

"do we have any hard stuff?" Teddy asked opening the door

"I don't know we'll stop and get some" Arizona said getting out of the car, she heard Teddy let out a groan before she got out. Arizona held the door open for her sister, watching as Teddy made her way inside. Smiling when she saw Jackie "hey I didn't expect to see you today" Jackie smiled

"Teddy and I are meeting someone" Arizona replied

"oh right, nervous blonde lady in the back" Jackie giggled

"that's probably her" Arizona said looking over at Teddy

"go on back, you want your usual to drink?" Jackie asked, Arizona nodded, Jackie smiled and headed off "you ready?" Arizona whispered to Teddy

"no" Teddy let out a shaky breath "but lets get this over with" she said leading Arizona to the back of the diner. Irene sat with her back towards them. Arizona thought it to be strange, normally when you are waiting for someone don't you sit facing the door so you can see when you party arrives? She shook her head, clearing it, watching her sister closely as she stopped next to the booth clearing her throat "hello" Teddy let out in a shaky breath

"oh Theodora" the woman's head turns and Teddy is met with a pair of eyes that matched hers. Arizona waited for Teddy to move, but when she didn't she went around her and slid into the booth. "Arizona" the woman smiled

"Ms. Altman" Arizona smiled kindly looking at Teddy who was still standing next to the booth, giving her a look, she let out a sigh and sat down. As Jackie showed up with their drinks "oh the service here is great" Irene let out a nervous laugh

"I come here often" Arizona smiled, giving Jackie a nod for a thank you

"doesn't help the waitress is dating her best friend" Teddy let out a nervous chuckle

"yeah that too" Arizona shrugged

"anyway, so" Irene started shifting nervously in her seat when she looked up and into Teddy's eyes, Arizona saw tears form. "you look just like him"

"who?" Teddy asked

"your father" she sniffled "he was my idol, and when" she paused trying to control herself "and when I found out about the accident I" she paused again looking down "I broke down" she reached for a napkin, dabbing at her eyes "I was barely 18, hadn't even graduated high school yet. Honestly I was lucky I did graduate, since our parents were both gone, I was staying with a friend, and if it wasn't for her parents, I would have" she paused again "I don't know what would have happened" Arizona saw Teddy start to relax, as Irene went on "after graduating high school, by the skin of my teeth, my friends dad talked me into joining the army. So I packed up and went to basic, from there went on to do my training, and at that point, desert storm was starting, and I was in one of the first groups to head over there"

"how long were you there?" Teddy asked

"2 years, then I decided to go to college" Teddy just stared at her "I through myself into my studies, and doing the army thing, after graduating, I went on to med school, deciding I wanted to make something of myself, after another 4 years, I became a surgeon. And if you're not aware those are hard to come by in the army" both Arizona and Teddy shook their heads as to say they weren't aware. "so I was shipped out yet again, this time to Germany"

"hmm"

"I'd say you were about 10 at this point" Irene sniffled back a sob

"that still leaves 14 years" Teddy said in a tone that Arizona knew to be her don't mess with me tone

"I lost all track of time, each day went into the next, and the next thing I knew, 20 years had past" Irene looked up into Teddy's eyes, "I thought about you often, but by then I didn't know how to" she shrugged her shoulders in defeat "look I completely understand if you want nothing to do with me, my wife and I just moved back to the states, and when I looked you up, I saw how popular Arizona had gotten" she turned to look at Arizona

"so you knew where I was the whole time?" Teddy asked

"yes, I knew Daniel and Barbara adopted you" she said "I knew you were safe and loved for. When you were born, they were both there, Barbara holding your mom's hand as my brother freaked out when it was time" she let out a laugh remembering that day

"wait you said wife" Arizona says looking at her

"I did" she nodded with a smile

"so you're gay?" Teddy asked, Arizona watched as Irene nodded, and she watched as the tension left her sister.

"were you worried I wouldn't accept you for being gay?" Irene asked

"I, I really didn't know" Teddy let out a sigh "I" she looked at Arizona "this is all so overwhelming, I" she shrugged

"would you mind if she joined us? She's actually sitting over there" Irene

nodded to a table where a woman was sitting by herself cup of coffee in her hand. Arizona saw Teddy nod, as Irene got the woman's attention and nodded for her to join "Theodora, Arizona this is my wife Dr. Sarah Altman, Sarah this is Theodora and Arizona"

"lovely to finally meet you Theodora, and you too Arizona"

"it's Teddy" Teddy said a voice that still wasn't warm, but Arizona could tell it was getting there, and it wouldn't be long at all. As the couple started answering the few questions Teddy asked, Arizona found her eyes going to the entry way, locking with the dark eyes she loved. "no way" she smiled, pushing Teddy so she could get out of the booth she was trapped in. With a smile on her face at seeing Callie "hey babe, I'm happy to see you" she went in kissing her softly "hey" Callie said letting out a nervous laugh

"why don't you join us, guess what" Arizona laughed, when Callie didn't answer she leaned in "Teddy's aunt is gay"

"wow" Callie said looking at her blonde

"so come on, come meet her" Arizona said reaching for her hand, when she saw Callie's eyes dart across the room, following her gaze she was met with a cold pair of blue eyes that belonged to her newest coworker "oh" Arizona said letting go of Callie's hand "I, I didn't think you'd mind"

"no, not at all" Arizona forced a smile "go enjoy your lunch, I'll see you at home" she leaned in for a kiss and heard Callie whisper "I love you"

"I love you" Arizona's smile never falling from her face as she went back to join her party.

"what's Callie doing here?" Teddy asked once Arizona was back at the table, she had scooted into the booth so Arizona could have the outside.

"she um" Arizona cleared her throat "she's meeting Erica"

"who is Erica?" Sarah asked looking around, seeing the person Arizona was just talking to with a blonde, Arizona followed her sightline and saw Erica had Callie's hand in hers "apparently an old friend"

"she looks a little" she started to say but changed her wording "sketchy"

"yeah" Arizona let out a sigh "anyway" she turned her attention back to the conversation "how's it going here?"

"good" Teddy smiled, this time Arizona could tell the smile was genuine and she couldn't help but feel happy "we were just telling Teddy about our careers" Irene said

"yes" Sarah smiled

"they invited us to Rochester for a weekend"

"Rochester?" Arizona asked, she couldn't take her eyes off Callie and Erica

"that's where they live" Teddy said

"oh" Arizona smiled "that'd be nice"

"alright" Sarah said getting Arizona's attention "what are we going to do about shebitch?"

"what?" Arizona couldn't help but laugh

"Sarah" Irene tried to scold her but ended up laughing

"what?" Sarah asked looking at Irene, then turned to Arizona "I see the way you can't keep your eyes off your girl and" she stopped before she said something she couldn't take back "and well" she smiled

"hmm" Arizona said meeting the eyes of the woman she had just met and smiled. "but we aren't going to do anything"

"dammit I was all ready for some real fun" Sarah groaned playfully

"the only way this relationship is going to work is if I trust her" Arizona said more to herself than to anyone else

"it would help if she had told you about her" Teddy said

"Teds, we all have a past" Arizona said looking at Teddy

"I'm just saying" Teddy shrugged

"alright so when you guys come for a visit, we could play Mario Kart" Sarah said

"Mario kart huh?" Arizona laughed looking at Teddy they both giggled remembering the other night "what is so funny?" Sarah asked

"Teddy is a pro at that game" Arizona said

"even better" Sarah smiled, the four let the conversation flow from there. As much as Arizona was into the conversation, her eyes kept darting to Callie and Erica. At one point Callie had thrown her head back in laughter.

"alright so you promise to keep in touch?" Irene asked

"yes" Teddy smiled

"I'm sorry I blindsided you, but I didn't know how else to go about doing it" Irene shrugged

"it's ok" Teddy said, meeting the eyes that were similar to hers, Arizona couldn't help but smile, Teddy had been a wreck since the party. As they stood to leave, Sarah reached out pulling Arizona into a hug "it was good to meet you, by the way I'm a big fan"

"um, thanks" Arizona laughed nervously

"honey, let the poor girl go" Irene laughed

"sorry" Sarah laughed and released Arizona, Arizona watched as Teddy wasn't sure what to do, giving her a hip check, when Teddy looked at her, she nodded for her to hug Irene. The embrace was awkward, but the smile on both faces were worth it. They said they're final goodbyes and Teddy and Arizona made their way to the door. Arizona not bothering to look at Callie and Erica. Once inside the car Arizona turned to Teddy "that went good"

"it did" Teddy smiled

"and you were nervous for nothing" Arizona laughed starting the car, noticing Callie's truck, she let out a sigh "you two need to talk" Teddy said

"I know" Arizona sighed again

"and you need to tell her how you're feeling"

"yeah" Arizona replied

"I'm serious Zo, you keep saying the only way this is going to work is if you trust her, well she needs to trust you too"

"I'm not the one sneaking around"

"is she really sneaking around?" Teddy asked, when Arizona didn't reply she added "she may not have told you she was meeting her today, but you knew she was going to eventually, and honestly today was perfect for her to do so, you had plans, what's she supposed to do? Sit and home and pine over you?"

"of course not" Arizona shook her head, and put the car into gear.

Callie watched as Arizona and Teddy left, a pain hit her heart when Arizona didn't even glance in her direction. "you're wife doesn't like me does she?"

"what?" Callie asked looking at her friend

"Arizona, she doesn't like me, does she?" Callie let out a breath "she didn't know about you"

"why not?"

"because" Callie looked out the window seeing Arizona and Teddy get into Arizona's car "apparently we don't know each other as well as we thought"

"hmm" Erica sat back "but yet you're married?"

"not yet?" Callie sighed, she'd been thinking about this a lot the last few days. She knew she was completely in love with Arizona, and she knew all the right stuff, like Arizona's favorite color, or how she took her coffee. That she preferred the right side of the bed oppose to the left. "maybe you should fix that" Erica's voice brought her out of her musings.

"yeah" Callie said shaking her head

"contrary to what she may think, I didn't come back to get you back, although the thought crossed my mind, especially after I saw you on tv, but once I found out you were with her" Callie felt herself relax "do me a favor" Callie said looking at her friend.

"anything" Erica smiled

"tell her that"

"alright" Erica's smile grew "next time I see her"

Another hour had Callie pulling into her parking spot in the driveway. Arizona's car was there, along with Teddy and Addie's "great everyone is home" she said to herself as she shut the truck off, opened the door and climbed out. Everything was quiet as she entered the house, until she heard the sound of a guitar. And Arizona's voice "I thought I knew, the girl so well, she was sad, I couldn't tell, I missed the point, I missed the signs, so if she's gone, the fault is mine" Arizona's voice rang through the house, causing Callie to stop in her tracks and follow the voice. "I know, I know, a whole lot of little things, and even though I could list them one by one, she would still be gone" making her way down the stairs. "Her eyes are blue, Her hair is long" Arizona's voice stopped "no that's not right Callie doesn't have blue eyes" "her eyes are brown, her hair is long, in '94, she was born in Madison, her favorite song is one of mine" she paused again laughing and begun again "I memorized her every move, I knew her books, her car, her clothes. But I paid no attention to what mattered most" Callie stood in the doorway, watching as Arizona stop to write down what she was singing. "I never asked she never said, and when she cried I turned my head, she dreamed her dreams behind closed doors, that made them easy to ignore, I know I know I missed the forest for the trees, all I have to show, oh when she walked out the door, the cold facts and nothing more" after writing down the last words Arizona looked up and was met with a pair of sad eyes, Callie was sure the unshed tears could be seen. "hi" Arizona said almost in a whisper

"hi" Callie gave a sad smile "new song?"

"just something I'm messing around with"

"sounded sad" Callie said moving into the room Arizona was in the process of making a mini recording studio.

"yeah" Arizona shrugged setting her guitar off to the side "kind of how I'm feeling"

"hmm" Callie hummed in agreement; brown eyes met blue "Arizona" she said letting out a breath "what's" she said closing her eyes steading herself "what's going on with us"

"I don't know, but I don't like it" Arizona stood, moving closer, Callie whispered "I don't either"

"so let's fix it" Arizona said taking Callie in her arms

"I" Callie sniffled "I don't know how"

"well" Arizona said pulling back so she could look into Callie's eyes "first we start out with how come I didn't know about Erica"

"I think I need a drink" Callie said closing her eyes

"fine, but we're having this talk" Arizona said letting go of Callie

"we will I promise" Callie turned towards the stairs "now come, drinks then we'll talk" Arizona nodded and followed Callie up the stairs. Callie went to their liquor cabinet pulling out a bottle of tequila and a glass. Then reached for Arizona's bottle of crown, it hadn't been touched since Teddy bought a new bottle after she drank what they had. Grabbing another glass "let's go out back" Arizona nodded and followed, Arizona watched as Callie set the bottles on the table opening the tequila and pouring some in a glass for herself, then did the same with the crown. "alright, so you want to know why I never told you about Erica?" Arizona nodded "honestly" Callie said reaching for her glass taking a sip, it burned, as the first sip usually does, she winced and let it cool. "I didn't think it mattered" she said looking up into blue eyes "she's my past"

"did you love her?" Arizona asked quietly as she took a sip of her drink

"at the time" Callie looked up at her "at the time I thought I did, but I know now that what I have felt for anyone in the past wasn't love." She paused reaching for Arizona's hand "you Arizona Robbins are the love of my life" Arizona sat there quietly not knowing what to say, after a few minutes of silence she quietly said "she wants you back"

"probably" Callie shrugged "but she isn't going to get me"

"hmm" Arizona hummed as she picked up her glass downing what was left

"do you not believe me?"

"I believe you" Arizona said looking into Callie's eyes "I just" she closed her eyes "I just have a bad feeling about her"

"I understand" Callie nodded "but I am going to tell you this" Callie said squeezing Arizona's hand "she's the one who told me to come home and talk to you, she could tell something was off just by watching us react from across the room"

"hmm" Arizona hummed again not knowing what to say

"I love you Arizona, and I'll let nothing, or no one come between us"

"I love you too" Arizona said letting a smile form on her face.

"ok so, now tell me all about Teddy's aunt" Callie smiled sitting back "it seemed as if you guys were getting along well"

"oh my god" Arizona laughed "Sarah, that's her wife, she's hilarious, they are both doctors, and live in Rochester"

"that's not too far away" Callie smiled, Arizona went on "that's awesome, I'm happy for Teddy"

"I am too" Arizona smiled

"so" Callie looked around "where are they?"

"Teds and Adds?" Arizona asked, she saw Callie nod "hmm, I'm not sure" just then a loud moan was heard from an open upstairs window "never mind" Callie laughed. Arizona found herself just staring at the woman who had the ability to break her. "Callie" she whispered

"hmm"

"are we ok?" Arizona asked in a childlike tone

"I" Callie started to say but one look in Arizona's eyes she lost track of her thoughts "yes" she smiled "at least I hope so" she said reaching for Arizona's hand bring it to her mouth kissing the back of it. Arizona's heart swelled with love, as she reached a hand up touching Callie's face, running her thumb gently across her cheek "good because I can't imagine my life without you"

"I can't either" Callie managed to get out in a breath before their lips met in a passionate kiss.

A few days later, Arizona was walking through the lobby of the studio, again the news was on, hearing Callie's voice, talking with her mom she couldn't help but stop and stare. Callie was wearing a red dress shirt with black slacks, one side of her shoulder length hair was tucked behind her ear, and the other hung loose. Arizona had to take a deep breath to steady herself, Callie just looked so damn sexy, and the images that were running through Arizona's head, had her center starting to throb. "our girl looks amazing" Arizona heard from behind her.

"she's my girl" Arizona said turning her head, when her bright blue eyes met the cold blue of the person who Callie insisted that there wasn't nothing going on with, she smiled.

"yeah but I had her first" Erica smiled, turning her attention to the tv "does she still do that thing?" Erica held up her right hand and positioned her fingers in such a manner that had Arizona wanting to throw a brick at her, more than a brick, maybe a full boulder. When Arizona didn't answer, Erica smiled and evil smile "I thought so" she leaned in closer to Arizona "I taught her that" she winked at turned her attention back to the tv. Arizona turned looking at the tv, shook her head and walked away. She needed space from this woman, or she'd do something she knew she'd regret. Storming into her office, Addison jumped hearing Arizona plop down in her chair "what's up?" she asks looking over the rim of her glasses.

"that, that, ugh" Arizona said visible shaking "I can't fucking stand that woman and I have to work with her, how the fuck am I going to do that?"

"um" Addie said taking off her glasses, trying to remember how Teddy had told her to handle Arizona when she got like this, she stood up from her chair, walking towards Arizona's desk. She could see the visible tension in Arizona's body language, even though she was sitting down. "I don't know" she whispered

"I know Callie said there's nothing to worry about but I'm afraid she's going to do something, something dangerous" Arizona said meeting the green eyes of her soon to be sister-in-law. Addie nodded, she had run into Erica a few times since she started and she herself didn't like the woman. "why don't you and Cal, go away for the weekend?" Addie offered "I think it'd do you both some good to get some real alone time together" Arizona was quiet a moment then looked at Addie "you don't have to go far, just somewhere where no one will bother you, just spend some time just the two of you"

"hmm" Arizona hummed, looking at her computer monitor, liking the idea. "we could drive to Milwaukee, there's a nice hotel just south of there that's right on lake Michigan"

"perfect" Addie smiled seeing Arizona relax, as she leaned forward reaching for her mouse. And went about making the reservations they would need.

"good night Callie" Barbara smiled

"good night" Callie smiled back at the woman who had become a mother and good friend to her.

"will you tell my daughters we need to have dinner soon" Barbara smiled "it's been too long"

"I will" Callie smiled, a thought popped into her head "hey why don't you and Daniel come over tonight, I'll cook" she watched as Barbara's smile grew "I know there are still a few things we need to go over for the wedding, we can do that"

"that sounds great, what time shall we be there?"

"um" Callie paused, mentally debating with herself "6"

"sounds good honey, we'll see you then" Barbara reached out pulling Callie into a hug. When she let go, Callie smiled and made her way to the exit, now she had to figure out something to make. No one had felt like cooking lately, so they'd been eating a lot of take out, and pizza. So she was determined to make a home cooked meal, climbing into her truck she noticed it was only 2. She had plenty of time, smiling when a thought came to her she started the truck and headed to the nearest store, which happened to be Walmart. She both hated and loved this place. Where else can you buy everything, you need in one stop? Humming to herself as she maneuvered her cart through the store getting the items she needed for dinner, she was stopped looking over the cereal. She had been craving something lately but wasn't sure what, neither of the four women that lived in the house ate much cereal, so when they bought a box it'd sit in the cupboard for months until it got stale and someone eventually through it away. Deciding she wanted something chocolaty she moved down the aisle until she was in front of the cocoa puffs "how big of a box should I get?" she said to herself.

"a small one" a voice came from beside her, looking over at the voice she bit her lip, at seeing the man standing there "you know Arizona doesn't eat much cereal"

"hmm" Callie hummed

"how is she?" he asked

"she's good" Callie said turning her attention back to the shelf

"you know I really loved her" Mark said, Callie could hear the hurt in his tone "she was my world, and when she was in that accident, and we thought" he stopped talking, as Callie looked at him "look Mark, I'm sorry she broke up with you, but you do know that had nothing to do with me right? That was all Arizona"

"I know, and I don't want to cause any problems for you guys, I just" he let out a sigh "I saw you and wanted to see how she was"

"she's good" Callie said feeling herself relax

"I've been seeing someone" he blurted out

"oh" this had Callie's full attention, he smiled and nodded "her name is Lexie, she's younger, but I'm happy"

"that's good" Callie smiled

"and to be honest" Mark said looking into Callie's eyes "I've known Arizona was gay a long time ago, I was just hoping to be" he paused again "enough"

"you know you can call and talk to her, she'd probably like to hear you're doing good" Callie said trying to offer the man something

"hmm, maybe" he smiled "it was good to see you Callie, you take care, of her and yourself, lord knows Arizona deserves it"

"she does, and I will, you do the same" she smiled a warm smile as she watched the man walk away. Shaking her head, she reached for the box of cereal she was after then turned to grab some of Addie's favorite pop tarts she knew they were out of and made her way to the cashier. While she was standing in the very long check out line, she pulled out her phone, opening the message app she went to the group message for Arizona, Teddy and Addie "hey guys just wanted to give you a heads up mom and dad are coming for dinner, be home by 6"~ C. She hit send and locked her phone, she wasn't expecting a reply so she slipped it back into her pocket, and continued to wait.

Xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hearing her phone go off, along with Addie's, Arizona didn't take her eyes off the computer screen in front of her. She was just filling in the last of the information for the hotel reservation. "Callie's cooking tonight, hell yeah" Addie said excitedly

"is she?" Arizona laughed at her friend

"read your message" Addie laughed, Arizona reached for her phone opening the message seeing Callie's and a reply from Teddy "ugh, can't I get away from them? The food better be good!"~ T. Arizona laughed

"Teds, you're an ass"~ Ari

"I know"~ T smiling Arizona set her phone on the desk, noting the time she groaned. It wasn't even 3, she had at least another hour to go, and that was if she snuck out early. That run in with Erica, had her on edge, and all she wanted to do was be at home, with her Calliope.

Xxxxxxxxxx

Callie had just put dinner in the oven, noting the time, she still had some alone time. It'd take at least 2 hours to cook, so she went in search of her laptop, she wanted to do a little writing. Something she hadn't done in a while, finding her laptop in the drawer of her bedside table, she retrieved it and went back to the kitchen. Setting it on the breakfast bar, she grabbed herself a drink and perched herself on a stool, opening the machine and starting it up. Noting the battery was dead, as it wouldn't turn on, she let out a groan and got up to get the cord. Once she was finally back, after having to search for it, she plugged it in and turned it on. Smiling when the picture of her and Arizona popped up. She loved that picture, Teddy had took it while they were in Colorado. She typed in her password and waited, once it was ready she clicked on the icon of the second story she had started. Using her and Arizona as main characters.

xxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Callie" she called out, when the woman turned around "oh I'm sorry, I thought you were someone I once knew"

"no problem" the woman smiled and walked away, as she watched her walk away she realized it wasn't her, although she had a lot of the same characteristics.

"Arizona" she turned hearing her name "sorry Teds, I just" she let out the breath she was unaware she was holding "thought I saw someone" she felt her heart breaking all over again.

"I know who you thought you saw, and I'm sorry honey she's gone" Teddy said wrapping her arm around Arizona and pulling her into the coffee shop they were headed for, before Arizona had a detour. "I know" she said letting out a sigh as she sat down at a table.

"I'll get us coffee, you want anything else?"

"no just coffee" she says not making eye contact with her sister. She was lost in thoughts of the woman who had broken her heart more than she thought anyone could. "I know I shouldn't but I miss her" she said once Teddy had returned

"I know you do" Teddy placed a hand over hers "I wish there was something I could do for you"

"there's nothing anyone can do" Arizona sighed picking up the cup Teddy had just set in front of her "I have no clue on what I can do to get her out of my mind"

"time" Teddy said, looking up, Arizona gave her a sad smile and nodded.

xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Later that day Arizona found herself driving around aimlessly, in her mind she didn't have a destination, but her subconscious had her driving some familiar streets and before she knew it she was parked in front of a house. A tear slipping out of her eye when she looked up and realized where she was. It was the house she and Callie had bought together. The for-sale sign in the yard, saying sold. Feeling her heart aching she decided to just let the tears fall. Moving in there was supposed to be their fresh start, Callie even gave her a new ring, a song came on the radio which had Arizona sobbing. "I hear there's one special love in each life, I must look like a fool, I thought it was you"

"god where the hell did I go wrong?" she sobbed "you were supposed to be my forever" she sat there for a few more minutes, wondering where to go from here. Taking a deep breath, she put the car in drive and headed off. At a stop light not far away, she looked in her rearview mirror, her heart started beating rapidly when she saw the same car Callie used to drive. For all she knew it could be Callie's old car, she had heard she sold it before she left for New York. She herself was still in the same car they had purchased together. It was getting beat up but Arizona couldn't bring herself to trade it in. Shaking her head, when she heard the car behind her honk, letting her know the light turned green, she started off, and back to her house. Parking the car in her spot she climbed out and went into the house. Passing by the picture from a party, it was her Callie, Teddy and Addison with her parents, she stopped, it was the only picture she allowed herself to keep out of her former life. She stopped, reaching for it she took it off the wall. Seeing how happy everyone was she broke down again "oh Calliope"

xxxxxxxxx

Callie let herself take in what she just read, she knew that's how she would feel if Arizona and her ever split. She felt tears burn her eyes, no she wasn't going to cry, running into Mark had stirred up some uneasy feelings. "this must be what Arizona feels like when she sees Erica" she said out loud. Luckily she was still alone and no one heard her, letting out a breath she sat there staring at the blinking curser. Before she knew it she heard the front door open, and felt a presence standing behind her. "hi" Arizona said

"hi" Callie looked up and into big blue eyes "I missed you" she said standing pulling Arizona in close. The smell of her shampoo engulfing her nose, she let out a soft moan, as the feeling of being wrapped up in Arizona washed over her. She pulled back, placing a kiss onto Arizona's lips. A kiss that was meant to be a quick welcome home kiss, turned heated. Arizona pushed her back against the counter, as the kiss turned from heated to frantic. And the two had to part to let oxygen in. Both woman breathing heavy, brown eyes met blue when Arizona was the first to break the silence "go away with me this weekend"

"what?" Callie laughed

"I made reservations at that Inn that's outside of Milwaukie, will you go with me"

"of course" Callie said pulling Arizona in again kissing her. As the kiss started to heat up again they were broken apart by Addie clearing her throat. "sorry" Arizona said pulling away wiping her lips.

"don't be sorry" Addie smiled "I'm sorry I broke that up, but you are in the kitchen, and from what the text said your parents are coming for dinner, don't think you want the kitchen smelling of sex" she laughed making her way to the fridge to get a drink.

"she's right" Callie laughed

"yeah mom doesn't need any more ammunition" Arizona laughed giving Callie another quick kiss "you doing some writing?"

"I was trying to, but" Callie shrugged, reaching over shutting her laptop "I'll just" she said unplugging it and leaving the room. She needed to get some distance from Arizona at the moment or they'd end up in bed. Climbing the stairs, she was thinking about when they'd have the basement ready for them to move down there. Not that she didn't love being on the top floor, she just wanted some privacy, where she and Arizona could be loud without having to worry if Teddy was listening. Not that any of that mattered, the two couples had a pretty active sex life. Callie was woken up more than a few times, hearing either Addie or Teddy scream each other's name. She laughed, shutting the drawer she had just set her laptop in, and left the room in search of the rest of the group. Dinner was almost ready, and the parentals would be there soon.

Sitting around the table, Arizona couldn't help but smile, after her run in with Erica earlier she was in a pretty shitty mood, but that kiss from Callie once she was home, had changed everything. She knew if Addie hadn't come in, she would have taken Callie right there in the kitchen. Feeling Callie's hand on her thigh under the table she sent her a wink. "so I think everything is set for the wedding" Barbara said "are you guys getting excited?"

"I am" Teddy smiled, looking at Addie "I can't wait to make you my wife" Addie smiled, leaning in placing a kiss on Teddy's lips

"Teds, did you invite Irene and Sarah?" Arizona asked

"I did" Teddy smiled

"who is Sarah?" Barbara asked, Teddy hadn't said much to her about the meeting, so she was clueless.

"Sarah is Irene's wife" Teddy said "I guess I haven't told you much about that meeting" Teddy giggled as she went on to explain.

"I guess I never realized she was gay" Barbara laughed looking at Daniel, who laughed shaking his head. "I'm so happy for you, honey" he said looking at Teddy "after everything I just, I'm glad you have someone from that family"

"thanks daddy" Teddy smiled

"your mom and I will always be here, and love you" Daniel said looking at his daughter "for both of you, I know you're adults now, but always remember we are here" he never said much, but when he did, it always hit close to the heart.

"thank you daddy" Arizona said smiling at him.

"it's already 9?" Barbara said seeing the time "it's past my bedtime"

"shit" Callie said, no wonder she was starting to feel tired. She Barbara and Daniel all had to be into work by 4 to get ready for the 5 o'clock show. She herself would normally be getting in bed around now. Something she hated but yet loved, as goodnights were said and hugs given, she watched as her soon to be in laws made their way out the front door, wrapping her arms around Arizona "I'm going to head to bed" she placed a kiss on Arizona's lips

"I'm right behind you" Arizona smiled

"so this vacation?" Callie asked once they were in their room "its just"

"it's just me and you"

"good" Callie said letting out the breath she wasn't aware she was holding

"Addie mentioned that with everything going on maybe we should get away, just the two of us"

"so it was Addie's idea"

"well" Arizona shrugged "I chose the spot"

"hmm" Callie said climbing into bed "ok"

"just ok?" Arizona asked looking at her

"I ran into Mark at Walmart" Callie said

"oh?" Callie nodded "he's dating someone"

"good for him" Arizona said

"he asked about you" Callie saw Arizona nod "I told him you're good, and we're good" Arizona turned her head looking directly into Callie's eyes "are we good?"

"I like to think we are" Arizona said "but, since Erica has come into our lives"

"she was supposed to apologize to you did she?" Arizona let out a laugh "what she said to me was the farthest from an apology I've ever heard"

"what did she say?"

"you know it really doesn't matter" Arizona said laying her head on the pillow, she heard Callie let out a deep sigh "it does matter Arizona"

"no, it doesn't because all she's trying to do is drive a wedge between us, in hopes to get you back"

"that's never going to happen" Callie said rolling on her side, so they were facing each other, Arizona reached up running her thumb across Callie's cheek "because I love you and you love me and none of the rest of it matters" Callie smiled "exactly" she leaned in placing her lips on Arizona's. Arizona reached her arm out pulling Callie's head onto her chest, "go to sleep beautiful, you have work early"

"hmm, I love you" Callie mumbled

"I love you too" Arizona whispered running a hand through her hair.

So what did you think? I had no idea how I wanted to go about Teddy's aunt, but I figured I'd give her someone. What's everything think is going to happen with Erica? I was going to make it so a friendship was enough, but even though I suck at writing drama, I figured they needed something. Thanks for reading, the song in this chapter was What mattered most by Ty Herndon, and Callie's story is something I wrote with the song I thought it was you by Doug Stone. It was a one shot based off the show, but I decided to have Callie write it.
