A few weeks past and soon summer break would be over. Football season is about to begin. Which means cheerleading tryouts. And ever since Arizona showed lexie that she can do 7 backflips in a row. She's been begging her to try out. And today was the last day of tryouts. The football players were on the field and the cheerleaders used the sidelines. Cheer tryouts started later than football practice. She watched a play or two get practiced both times the long snapper threw it to the quarterback who hand it to the running back who ran halfway down the field before throwing it off to the wide receiver. The wide receiver was probably the second shortest next to the running back he was definitely the shortest on the team but he wasn't too short Probably 5'10. The coach said something they got in a huddle and started to yell. The little fastest one took off his helmet revealing that it wasn't a guy but a girl. It was Callie Torres. Callie caught her staring she winked at her with her mouth guard hanging out her mouth and her jersey pulled up exposing her abs. She couldn't stop staring. Lexie walks over to her kinda pulling her out of her trance.

"What hot boy are you staring at?" lexie asked stretching.

Arizona blushed

"Is it not a hot boy," lexie questioned?

Just that question made Arizona's blush grow.

"So either Callie or teddy," Lexie said. "you don't seem like the type to like blondes so I'm guessing its Callie"

And with that Arizona became a tomato.

"Omg yes Callie really huh," Lexie said." but sadly she spoken for I think I'm pretty sure the wide receiver is her boyfriend"

Arizona was confused.

"Oh how do you know," Arizona said not trying to sound disappointed.

"well ever since Callies ex-girlfriend dumped her like a couple of months ago and mysteriously vanished they've been weirdly close," Lexie said staring at mark.

"what if you just made it up in your head," Arizona argues trying not to let her hopes get the best of her.

"I'm 99.99 percent positive but ill check it out of you," Lexie says.

"ok thanks," Arizona replies.

"Well you need to get stretched," Lexie said before walking away.

Lexie was right Arizona was pushing it if she wanted to be a cheerleader she would have to do her best during tryouts and she couldn't do that not stretched. Good for Arizona she doesn't want to be a cheerleader. She's only here for lexie is what she thought but she stayed for Callie.

They started with learning cheers. They did them all together then one at a time. Lexie did amazing remembering all the words to the cheer. Meredith did great of course. And Arizona did ok not her best performance. Next, they went into the tumbling room above the gym. It was the first time she had been inside the school. It read Seattle Grace Sports Auxiliary Center.

"Woah this place is big," Arizona said.

"it seemed big to me at first but can get from the 4th floor to the first in less than a minute," said lexie

"This doesn't seem like it has 4 floors," Arizona said confused.

"This is just the training building," Lexie said kinda laughing running up the last bit of steps.

They had made it to the tumbling room with Arizona only kinda breathing heavily

"You ok Arizona, "Lexie asked?

Arizona nodded her head

Lexie gave a slight smirk.

The coach made it up the stairs and they began. They started with the tricks you can do. Meredith did too many to count. Lexie did just as many as Meredith. More nameless people went finally Arizona was called. She did her back tuck perfectly. She did some simple stuff in between but she wanted to impress the coach and be a cheerleader not for lexie ut for you know who. So for her final tumbling skill, she did a round-off back handspring back tuck. She didn't even notice Callie walk into the room she was so in the zone. She started running into her roundoff seamlessly connecting the roundoff and the back handspring but right before she did the back tuck her eyes caught Callie, who had the biggest smile accompanied by a warm wave, which made her fall on her ass almost. Well, she would have if Callie wasn't there to catch her.

"Thanks, Romeo," Arizona joked blushing

"Anytime Juliet," Callie teased making Arizona turn a brighter shade of red.

Arizona just stared at those brown eyes which made Callie smile

"You should get up my grip is slipping and people are looking," Callie whispered with a smile.

"Oh I'm sorry I'm late," said a tall brunette with a thick accent as she entered the room.

" You've only missed a little bit but I hope your all stretched out because we were just showing our tumbling skills," the head coach said.

" Oh Ok," the girl said dropping her backpack.

Some people went after Arizona she tried to get Callie out of her head. Even after she left the room. She tried to mindlessly watch the cheerleaders tumble. But Callie was all she could think. Carina was the last to go. She did some simple standing tumbling skills and some harder ones and then went to running tumbling skills Arizona wasn't paying attention until Carina ended with an aerial. With the whole tumbling room clapping. Arizona snapped out of it and called too. She plastered on a fake smile to accompany her clapping. Carina smiled at her she blushed back. They took a break they would do stunts after. Carina walked over to Arizona

" Hello my name is Carina," the tall girl said

"Um my name is Arizona," she replied.

" Like the North American State," Carina asked?

" No a battleship," Arizona said curiously where carina was from. "So Carina where are you from," Arizona asked with curiosity in her voice?

" I'm from Italy," carina said.

"Oh," Arizona says shyly.

"What's on your mind Arizona," asked carina.

"What, "Arizona said confused.

"You had this look on your face while I was showing my skills," carina told her leaving an even more confused look on Arizonas face.

"No I didn't," Arizona said.

"Then why did it look like you were pulled out of this trance when everybody started clapping," carina asked picking up her water bottle?

Arizona was too embarrassed to tell her the real reason.

"It was nothing," Arizona replied sweetly with a blush.

"Oh ok," Carina said with raised eyebrows setting her bottle down." how about I take you to dinner and you can tell me then," carina said with a smirk knowing she got under Arizona's skin.

Arizona turned into a beet. Her face felt so hot she thought she would pass out.

"Ok," Arizona replied after she got her face under control.

"How about you give me your number so i can text you," carina asked?

"Sure," Arizona complied.

Carina grabbed her phone out of her back and opened it handing it to Arizona. Ater Arizona put her information in she handed it back.

"Here you go," Arizona said handed the phone back to Carina.

"Thank you," Carina looked at the number. She pressed the call button and sure enough, Arizona's phone rang. "Now you have my number," Carina explained.

Arizona nodded her head walking away smiling. OMG Arizona just got asked out by a hot brunette, of course, it's not the hot brunette she wants to be asked out by but she's still a hot brunette nonetheless.

The rest of the tryouts went good Arizona was one of the flyers Lexie and Meredith were the bases and Addison was the back in her group. She had a big dumb smile on her face. She was wanted she had never been wanted before. She kept stealing looks from Carina. And she managed to not slip and fall even though she kinda wanted to just to see what Carina would do. By the time she got home, it was later in the evening. She ran into her room with that dumb smile still plastered on her face. She had it on until she closed her eye. Barbara thought Arizona was broken because she had never smiled that long. But she wasn't she felt whole.

A/N: i know next to nothing about football but I plan on putting mark on the defensive line and making him like the middle line back but when he does play offense he is a fullback . teddy is a wide receiver and Callie is a running back and of course, Derek is the quarterback and Cristina is the kicker. i don't know if imma really make her a kicker but who knows
