Chapter 2
"You're kidding right?"
"No Malfoy, I'm serious about this. If we wanted to live a normal and hopefully peaceful life now in this small town– albeit temporarily," Hermione paused, looking at him with burning determination in her glinting amber eyes. "Then we need to pose as normal muggle teenagers and Malfoy may I remind you that muggle teenagers needed to study a into muggle high school in order get a formal education. And that's what we're aiming to be, isn't it? Blend in to the muggle society to have a normal life whilst trying to figure things out on the way, right?"
"But Granger–"
Before he could complain more she impatiently cutted him mid-sentence."No buts Malfoy. We will be enrolled. End of conversation."
"This is unfair- !"
Hermione could already feel her growing temper, coupled with her Veela temperament things just could've get worse in her part.
"What's unfair is your bloody prejudices towards muggles, Malfoy!" Snapped Hermione, sneering tauntingly. "Can you, at least for once, not be selfish and let your biases blinded your rationality and think about the importance of this! I am also doing this for the both of us Malfoy!"
Draco snarled and let out a terrifying cold aura. Hermione knew right this moment that his temper is also in the verge of collapsing. But her Veela temperament at the moment isn't stable and thus couldn't find a way to calm herself down. Veelas are particularly proud and stubborn creatures and they particularly hate losing to everything.
"If you only didn't cut me everytime I tried to voice out my opinions on the matter, Granger..." He shook his head, clenching his fists. "Didn't know you still viewed in that light." With that said he stomped his way upstairs and heavily slammed his door shut.
Even without hearing anything, cause she's sure that he muffliato'd the whole room, Hermione could still imagine Draco practically breaking things in his room in an attempt to calm his ire down. Hermione felt her guilty conscience surge in an instant at the thought.
Oh Merlin, could this day get any worse? She thought, glaring sourly at the enchanted ceiling.
Now she's seriously wondering if leaving the Wizarding World and deciding to live a mundane life posing as a muggle is a nice idea at all.
One moment they're just having a nice conversation but then she went informing him about her advance plan of enrolling them both in a muggle high school and look where were they now a second earlier. Almost on the verge of throttling each other. She knew it was mainly her fault but her steamed stubborn subconsciousness wouldn't acknowledge it one bit.
And now, Hermione's having a complicated feelings while at the same time trying to cool down her temper. She really, really hated this.
"So what zid I miz?" A throaty feminine voice with a hint of worry had her tearing her gaze at the beatifically enchanted ceiling and turned around the doorway.
Hermione sighed but immediately masked her guilty expression with nonchalance. "It's Draco."
"Zid you tell 'im about it?" At her nod, Fleur continued. "Don't worry Mi'nie 'ee will come 'round. I'm hundreth sure 'bout eet."
"But it's my fault, Fleur." Hermione gritted her teeth and admitted it with difficulty. "I just couldn't control my growing temper that much. I– I hate losing. I mean I always had the urge to not lose about everything especially or ever since my... my awakening. My Veela just wouldn't let me, if you know what I mean." She made a frustrated sound, growling. "This is just plain stupid!"
"I know Mi eend I know 'ee knows eet, too. And 'ee understands you coz like me 'ee had had experienced eet too. You knew Molly and Ginevra didn't warm up to me before co'z of my attitude at dze begining. I know too that eet gets pretty annoying sometimes but like I zaid before eet ez just normal for us Veelas. So worry not anymore, 'kay? 'ee will come around soon."
"Thank you, Fleur. I just knew you're the best." Hermione gave her a sincere thankful smile which the latter gratefully returned before walking upstairs and went to her room. Hopefully, tomorrow, things will be back to normal again– well, as normal as it could somehow get especially with them being out of league from word itself that is.
Meanwhile on an another beautiful mansion made of crystal glass and intricate designs surrounded by the endless lush of greenery occupies the Cullen family. The seven vampire's natural and usual everyday routine could be seen at a glance.
Emmet being Emmet, chortled on the ground at the expense of Jasper repeatedly losing on a chess battle against the mind reading vampire. Alice, on the other hand, kept gushing over and over again about the latest brands of this and that. Rosalie grew bored and went outside probably to the garage to trinket on the cars yet again. Meanwhile, Esme and Carlisle who's currently seated on the loveseat watched the whole scene both with fond expression and warm smiles on their faces.
Suddenly, there's a honk of a car outside the house and Jasper instantly stiffened. Alice seeing the expression of her mate gave him an apologetic smile, squeezing his cold palms in an attempt to calm him. The blond vampire merely squeezes her hand back and gave her a reassuring smile as if to say 'It's okay, I got this' in return. Thankfully, he had already hunted earlier and his thirst for human blood alleviated a little bit.
Emmet, if it's possible, beamed even more knowing who exactly's going to be their visitor. Of course who wouldn't? I mean they do only have one visitor after all. Rosalie who came back from the garage unabashedly rolled her eyes at the thought of having to play house with the human girl yet again. Edward having heard her thoughts sends her a threatening glare. She just huffed and stomped her way upstairs. Not in the mood to deal with a foolish sap and a stupid lamb at all.
"Bella!" Exclaimed Emmet excitedly, engulfing her into a bone-crashing hug and Bella let out a surprised 'ooof!' but smiled at him in greetings nonetheless.
Ignoring his big brother's grumblings, Edward shoved him away and went to hug his girlfriend, dropping a sweet kiss on her forehead on the process. Bella blushed beet red. Her smile turned into a full-blown grin at having to see him, her chocolate brown eyes shining with love and something akin to devotion towards him.
Edward felt uncomfortable for a moment before smiling his infamous crooked grin and nuzzles his face close to her, loving the natural scent wafting through her hair. Something sweet and flowery. The uncomfortable feeling earlier already forgotten.
"Bella, dear, would you like to have something to drink?" Asked Esme smiling warmly at her.
Bella ducked her head awkwardly, still blushing lightly. "No need, Esme. But thank you." Esme didn't reply and merely gave her usual motherly warm smile before proceeding to head towards the library, perusing the tomes while humming contentedly.
Carlisle, after politely greeting her too, went to join his wife afterwards.
Jasper only gave her a stiff nod in greetings whilst the pixie-like vampire danced her way towards her and directly gave her a friendly embrace. "Hey! It's been a while, Bella. I miss you! What if we go shopping this afternoon?" She batted her lashes at her, giving her best puppy eyed look. "Pretty, pretty please?"
"I- I...uh.." Bella awkwardly shuffles to her feet giving Edward a pleading look.
"Come on Alice you've only seen Bella last Friday. It's been only what? A day and a half? Surely, you wouldn't miss her in only that short period of time." Intervened Edward eyeing his pixie-like sister with amusement but also with slight reprimanding voice.
"B-But I–"
"Sure, sure Alice. Whatever. Sorry, but we gotta go now." He added, instantly cutting her mid-sentence before carrying the beetroot Bella in a bridal style and practically dashing away using his vampire speed.
Edward wouldn't let himself wait before the petite vampire gets more annoying, of course, he wouldn't dare voice out that one. God forbid, that sister of his can be quite a terrifying menace sometimes. And besides, he still needed to have some quality time alone with his beloved girlfriend you know.
Muttering something akin like stinky brothers being a selfish prick Alice crossed her arms, pouting like a child. Jasper sends her an amused smile further annoying the pixie-like vampire. So, with a stomp of her feet, she started walking away.
But within only five steps, she suddenly halted on her steps. A daze and blank look on her eyes.
Jasper feeling the abrupt change of her emotions went to her side and looks at her with worry. Realizing that she's probably having another vision he just stood silently by her side, rubbing small circles on her back.
Alice is at loss. Flurry of images passed by her mind and she couldn't get a proper grasp to any of it all. There's a two vogue figures starring on it. One with a platinum blond hair and the other a honey blond one. Both possessing perfectly body figures according to their albeit blurry contours that is. She's a hundred percent sure that she haven't seen them before.
But that's all. Nothing more.
When she came into, her gaze met the questioning eyes of her mate. Alice just gave him a reassuring smile murmuring, "The usual." A lie.
But right now she will just kept it to herself first. Her gut told her that's it's the right thing to do. So, starting from today onwards, she must guard her mind more securely especially not letting her mind reading of a brother get any glimpse of her vision. At all costs.
A/N: The setting is basically from where Bella and Edward has only began to establish their relationship. But because this is an AU other scenes from the future might've been added on the story. Of course, I'll just tweak it a bit here and there, to y'know, add some spice. Rawr.
