Chapter 9

1730 Hours, Podgorica

After sending off her text Anita removed the sim card and flushed it down the commode. She then packed up, checked out explaining an emergency came up, got in her car and drove the four-hour trip back to Sarajevo. She found a hotel close to the airport, got a room, set the alarm on her phone for 0530 the next morning and crawled in bed…she had an early flight morning to make.

0815, Sarajevo Airport

Anita handed her boarding pass to the Turkish Airlines Stewardess, proceeded down the gangway and boarded the plane, located her First-Class seat and got comfortable for the long flight. Long because it included a layover at another airport midway through the trip, but it still got her into London at a descent time.

1600 Hours, London Heathrow Airport

The first thing Anita did after getting off the plane was locate a women's room where she removed the red wig and fluffed out her long brown locks. Looking back at her image in the mirror she said "welcome back Ilsa," she then stuffed the red wig in her bag and walked out. She knew he would be here to greet her, and he was instantly wrapping her in a big hug when she arrived. He didn't say anything, he didn't have to, he just took her hand and escorted her out to the car. It was when they got there that she saw the other girls waiting for her also each greeting her with a hug as well.

"Where we going," she asked from her place in the back seat situated between Kate and Jordan.

"Gillray's Steakhouse," Rick replied from his spot in front. "I know you didn't eat any of that airplane food, you never do."

He was correct, airplane food always left her with an upset stomach so she would pack her purse with cheese or peanut butter crackers, the quantity depending how long the flight was.

Arriving at Gillray's they were led to a private room where a round table had already been set up for them. When they were seated two waitstaff came around filling the wine glasses with a sparkling red wine. "A toast," Rick declared raising his goblet. "To the 355," he said leaning in to the center of the table, the others doing the same clinking each glass before setting back down and taking a healthy drink.

"If I may," Emily began, "I'd recommend the ribeye cooked on a Himalayan salt block and the green peppercorn and brandy sauce although the spiced bearnaise sauce is good also. I like mine medium but don't go more than medium-well or less than medium-rare. Enjoy."

Evidently Emily's suggestion was well suited for everyone as they all ordered it with just a couple going for medium-well.

With everyone sated from a great dinner a new wine glass in front of them containing a semi-sweet cabernet sauvignon the wait staff left the room closing the door behind them. It was then that Rick spoke. Turning to face Ilsa he requested she tell the group what she discovered.

Ilsa passed her phone to Rick displaying the photo she took of the three women in question. "I believe the older looking one is Grandma Culper," she explained watching as the phone was passed around for all to see. "I heard one of the other women call her Grandma. She had asked Grandma when the device was going to get there. Grandma's reply was 'the ship lands in two days'."

"Anything else," Jordan asked?"

"And then," Ilsa responded, "the one woman made the comment 'and then'. Grandma's said 'it depends on how soon Carisa can get there to safely plant it'. They then finished their drinks and left although Grandma did make the comment 'Patryk was waiting for her to come home and fix dinner'."

"Emily, Jordan, Terri," Rick announced; "let's run these women through facial recognition. Kate, sent the photo to Ryan, let's try our luck there. Ilsa, do you know if there is a list of the women raped and molested during the war.?"

"I'm sure there is but I don't know how complete it is."

"Just do what you can. Everybody else, we leave for Langley in the morning"

"Me too," Vittoria asked?

"Especially you," Rick responded giving her a smile. "I'll need to know how to disarm this thing without getting blown up in the process.
