One second, she was being ripped out into the vacuum of space in an entirely different dimension the next her alarm was screaming at her to get up and there was the warm weight of an arm draped tightly around her middle from behind.
Alex's eyes close even tighter once she realized she recognized that particular groan tickling her ear and it certainly wasn't the woman she'd just been talking to what already felt like a lifetime ago as the buzzing hum of her still ringing alarm disrupts the lazy haze of the morning. the sound more akin to that of an erratically beating heart monitor than a true phone alarm.
"No." Maggie whimpers nuzzling against the back of Alex's neck. "Come on baby, Stay here. Stay with me."
Alex was more than willing to oblige until she picked up on that tantalizing event of freshly brewing coffee. even the erratic alarm seemed to even itself out at her ex's drowsy camands.
"Good job Danvers." Maggie praises giving Alex's neck a pleased feeling kiss "Just breath. You'll be alright. Just breath baby." she goes on as if it was Alex and not Maggie herself that had stabilized Alex's alarm of a heartrate.
"Your fault in giving them the spare, babe." Maggie supplies pressing another ghost-like kiss this time against Alex's shoulder as she too breaths in another lung full of the tempting aroma of coffee. "I just hope Lena made it this time instead of Kara. I know she tries but sometimes even the office coffee is better than your sister's attempts."
"Alex, Maggie come on before breakfast gets cold for everyone."
"Kara." Alex breathed at the laughed call from somewhere outside the closed door to the rejoined couple's bedroom.
Kara was back. Kara was safe. Kara was happy and complaining about having to wait for her food just like when they were kids.
Everything is back to normal. Alex sighs but she knows she has to see Kara for herself before she'd be completely convinced.
Maggie only giggles as her arms loosen enough to allow Alex to bolt towards the door. "As hot as your current look is Danvers I'd at least put on a shirt before you go out there." Her ex suggested as Alex shifts her braided albeit sloppy braid at that hair over one shoulder as she looks back towards the grinning woman still warming her bed.
"Hey if you two don't get out here in the next twenty seconds I'm claiming your breakfast as My breakfast," Kara calls out in a more playful challenging tone.
"She will too ladies." Lena laughed "you know how serious my Kara is when it comes to her food. Don't tempt her. That's My job"
"See told you those two would end up together." Maggie gloated that had she not been preoccupied with making sure her younger sister was truly alright would have had Alex dragging her pleased ex closer until she'd managed to kiss away that tantalizingly smug grin from Maggie's already kissed swollen lips.
"Last one down does the dishes?" Maggie challenges tossing one of her oversized NCPD sweatshirts at her as Maggie herself tugs on that in so familiar orange tee-shirt over her flushed and toned body.
"Alex."
Maggie but also Kara's voice whispering her name at the same time.
"You have to fight, Danvers," Maggie murmurs "Remember. Fight until we come to get you." she reminds her arms now too strong and too warm as they lock around Alex's middle feeling more like Kara's that her own toned arms. All hints of her earlier joking tone gone as another soft sob of her name sound in Kara's broken whispers. "Fight for her." Her ex coaxes "fight for me." She adds in a much softer whisper her warm breath tickling against Alex's ear.
"I'm waiting for you baby," Maggie whispers. "Come back to me, Alex."
Alex's eyes open slowly against the glare of the med bay lights as her lips move or try to at least as that blurred figure floats over.
"Maggie?" She mumbles her voice low but hopeful.
"Alex." Kara's voice was laced with heavy tears as Kelly rocks back on her heels at a name that wasn't her comes in that rasped whisper.
"Oh, Alex praise Rao." Kara sniffed tenderly wrapping her trembling older sister in her steady warmed embrace.
"Maggie," Alex whispers once more as she drinks in the welcomed heat radiating from her little sister.
Kara's eyes follow Alex's to the corner a tearful Kelly had retreated to.
"Alex that's not Maggie."
Alex just exhaled slowly nuzzling her head under Kara's chin drinking in more of her warmth after that bone icing cold of space.
"Maggie," Alex whispers her eyes drooping once more in her fatigue.
"You both should rest." Kelly suggests "introductions can wait until you've both gotten your strength back." She goes on the same moment Kara was pulling her cape over them both to use for a blanket.
"I'll have Lena done wake you when we're home."
Kara nodes in thanks tucking her cap more around Alex's shoulders as her older sister drifts off into a much more dreamless rest.
