Canon takes a brick in the face by the name of Carver Hawke. Or: The "modern character in Thedas" trope done a liiiittle differently. Maker have mercy on us all. Or: I can't find a fic where the transmigrated modern figure in Thedas actually massively changes canon from DAO to DAI, so I write it myself.

Cassandra had become the leader of the knights and the kingdom's greatest protector. However, a new knight gets hired, leading to Cassandra getting demoted.

Dragon Age: Inquisition. Following the final battle against Corypheus, Solas leaves the side of his former lover Inquisitor Lavellan. With Thedas in crisis, the Inquisition finds its reluctant hero in Tharin Trevelyan, a former templar turned the Herald of Andraste. But Cullen Rutherford finds much more in Tharin, and the two are inexplicably drawn to each other. A frightened Cullen chooses duties, resorting to something drastic. His ill-advised action will hurt both men, perhaps irreparably.

Inana Lavellan can't see most things - not in the waking world, anyway. The Fade is another matter, shining like a beacon just beyond the Veil. Imagine her surprise when a "spirit" she has known in the Fade since childhood appears in the waking world as a man calling himself Solas.

Set during the events of DAI. The world is in turmoil. This is a time that people have to rely on each other, but it isn't always a good idea. Sometimes those who you trust most can't be trusted, and those who you trust the least are who you should trust the most. Rated T for now, might change later on. One or two things that I'm debating putting in. Not a great summary.

[Currently remastering] Hawke's as much a mage as Fenris is an elf: skin-deep and, in their opinion, irrelevant. Another thing they have in common is they are trained warriors. Lastly, they both share the opinion that the other is tedious and annoying (this a widely held opinion). A story about coming together by being apart, about memory and meaning, and about when to shut up.
