I just saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens and I heard a lot of snippets about a possible Kylo Ren redemption arc before I did. And well, I'd like to share what first came to my mind after seeing the movie. Spoilers, character death. Also on tumblr.

And the regular scorching-hot panty-melting humpathons do not count as dating, no matter what Poe and Finn might say, and no matter how much she looks forward to seeing Ren's stupid face every day for training.

A tiny drabble inspired by a comment somewhere about how Kylo was struggling with unexpected grief just as much as physical pain in his fight with Rey. My first impression was that he would just freeze to death in the woods, but apparently he survived so he must be a goddamn wreck. Serves him right.

Rey visits a comatose Finn in the med bay and bonds with the attending medic, a familiar face who fought during the Clone Wars. Intrigued by the medic's story of how he winded up with the Resistance, Rey realizes that despite their vastly different backgrounds, they have a lot in common.
