Previously on A Heya Love Story...
Chord and the rest of the guys are dragging Mark out of the kitchen. Heather picked Naya up and carried her out to the backyard as far away from Mark as she could get her.
Diana and Lea look frantic and very distressed as Heather and Naya approach them. Naya was still buried in Heather's neck until they both seem to snap into mommy mode in a matter of milliseconds.
"Sophia!" Naya yells out looking around frantically.
Where's our daughter?!" Heather yells just as panicked.
"Wheres our daughter?!" Heather fears as her heart is thumping out of her chest at the feeling of not seeing her daughter anywhere as her head twists back and forth looking around the backyard. Naya is standing next to Heather looking totally frantic and dazed. Not only did Mark just do what he tried to do, but now their baby isn't anywhere near her moms. Heather held Naya tightly while she looked around. Naya's hands instinctively went to rest on her stomach and then the reality set in that she wasn't there anymore and they didn't know where she was. Diana and Lea both look worried as they have no idea where Sophia is. They were so caught up in the commotion after hearing her scream they didn't see where Sophia was.
"Lea, Diana, where did Sophia go?" Naya begged in a frenzied tone
"We are so sorry, we have no idea! She was right here and then everyone heard the screaming so they were flying around attempting to find out where it came from. We followed the guys but didn't go in when we saw Mark with Naya. When we got back here Sophia and some of the girls were gone." Lea said nervously. Naya glared almost as if she was thinking, not again. How fucking hard is it to keep your eyes on a damn immobile baby. Heather was starting to feel that same bitterness that Naya was feeling. All she wanted to do was protect her family.
Heather and Naya are weeping and becoming desperate. They don't know if it's been fifteen seconds or ten minutes. Naya is very skittish at the moment and jolts when she hears the chime on Heather's phone alerting her of an incoming text message. Heather almost ignores it because she doesn't have time for any damn texts until she finds her baby girl but she grabs her phone regardless and sees it's from Amber. Since Amber was the last one to have Sophia she hurriedly unlocked her iPhone and opens the message. Naya is looking over her shoulder hastily as she's wiping her tears and reads the text with her wife.
Incoming Amber: Don't freak out Jenna, Vanessa, and I took Soph to Jenna's car and locked the door after we heard Naya screaming. We had no idea what the hell was going on but wanted to get Sophia out of there. She's completely fine and sleeping. Let us know when the coast is clear and we will come back out there. Vanessa thinks she saw Mark's truck leave. Have one of the guys confirm before we come out.
Naya breaks out into a sob once she comprehends that her daughter is alright and her friends protected her and acted so fast to do what was best for her. Heather tears up and tries to control her breathing while soothing her wife. She was feeling the same relief wash over her just knowing her baby girl was safe with her aunts who loved her. She was particularly grateful for her friend's quick actions to protect their little girl. Heather continued to hug her wife tightly before wiping her own eyes.
"Hey beautiful, do you see any of the guys anywhere so we can confirm he's gone and I'll let the girls know," Heather asks as she looks around for Harry, Chord, Cory, Kevin, or Chris. All she wants is to see her baby girl. Naya spots them coming out of the kitchen patio door and gestures for them to come over.
"Guys, is he gone? I need to see my baby girl!" Naya said in a desperate tone of a mother in need of her child.
"He left." Chord nods and Heather instantly texts Amber back.
Outgoing Heather: Mark's gone.
Incoming Amber: Alright we're coming.
"They're bringing Sophia back." Heather breathed out rubbing her palm across her forehead. Did this just happen? All she could do is hug Naya and wait for their baby girl.
"Where is Sophia and the girls?" Cory asks while glaring back at the table where he last saw them with the baby.
"The girls took her to one of the vehicles and locked the door after they heard Naya scream out. I'm so proud of them for acting so quick amidst the chaos and getting her out of here." Heather says while kissing her crying wife who is nodding in agreement to what her wife had just said but she couldn't get the words out.
"Wow, good thinking." Kevin nodded. The guys all sighed as well in disbelief at what just occurred.
It was two minutes later when Amber, Vanessa, and Jenna closed the patio door and walked quickly over to Naya and Heather. Naya was sobbing holding our he arms for her baby which Amber immediately placed in her friends arms. Naya laid her vertically against her chest so her head could rest against her shoulder and clutched her daughter close.
"Oh, Mija, honey! Mami's got you." Naya sobs as she cuddles her baby close while Heather hugs and kisses Naya and sandwiches the baby between them placing kisses on both of her girl's heads.
Heather separates from Naya and takes the three girls in her arms and cries.
Thank you for protecting my little girl and for thinking so fast and doing what was best for her. Thank you. You're the best aunties." Heather tearfully says while placing a kiss on each of their cheeks before Naya hands their baby girl to Heather so she can snuggle their daughter and goes up to the girls offering the same embrace.
"Thank you girls. Thank you." Naya breathed out shakily. "We love you" Naya finishes taking a deep breath.
"We love you too Nay. All of you." Vanessa said and the other girls immediately nodded in agreement. Heather and Naya smile back at them.
Heather motions for their friends to follow and they walk over to the lounge area with oversized chairs and outdoor couches. Everyone follows their lead and they take a seat in one of the many options around the firepit.
Heather lowers into the oversized lounge chair and smiles at her wife. Naya makes an effort to smile back but it's not reaching her eyes and Heather is a mixture between furious and heartbroken over what just happened that caused Naya to feel so demeaned and disrespected.
"Come here my beautiful girls. I got you Naya. Come here princess, momma's right here baby girl." Naya hands Sophia to Heather so she can snuggle her too. Heather accepts her daughter and cradles her before scooting to one side of the chair and patting the space beside her. Naya lowers down into the lounger and Heather wraps her arm behind her wife her other arm is supporting her sleeping daughter across her lap. Naya brings her hand over to wrap around them until all three are in a little cocoon together.
"He will never hurt you. I will make sure of it. He will never hurt our daughter." Heather assures and kisses her wife on the side of the head. Everyone settles around and watches the couple and their baby girl interact. It's such a beautiful moment but an unfortunate one at the same time given the circumstances.
"Are you two okay? Naya did he hurt you?" Kevin asked firmly but softly at the same time.
"Other than try and get me to be with him again and force me to try and kiss him, he didn't physically hurt me," Naya says while snuggling closer to her wife.
"He tried to convince you to be with him? Seriously?" Amber said in disbelief. Naya just shrugs and nods in defeat before looking up at her wife with pleading eyes, almost as if she was unsure what her answer would be when she asked this question...
"Please don't let me go. I hate that I'm so fucking clingy right now but please just don't let us go." Naya heartbreakingly says as a few tears drop from her brown eyes. Heather kisses her head and pulls her even closer until Naya is practically on her one leg she's cuddled so close to Heather.
"I won't let you go my loves. I'm right here with you. Naya please know I will never, ever disrespect you like that. What he tried to do was inexcusable and violating. You were so strong and brave. I'm so glad you had the courage to yell out for us. You did amazing, beautiful. My gorgeous wife. I've got you. I've got Soph." Heather says as she kisses her wife on the temple. Everyone was starting at them completely emotional at what Heather just confessed. She sure had a way with words when it came to speaking about Naya and her daughter.
They didn't even realize Chris had gotten up from his chair next to theirs but he came back with a large cuddly blanket for the girls and several more for the others. Heather smiles and mouths a thank you to her friend before he helps Heather spread the blanket out over the three of them. Heather switches arms so that Sophia is between them instead of her head being far away from her mami. Naya smiles and kisses Heather's cheek and begins running her fingers through her daughter's hair.
About five minutes later Sophia starts fussing and both moms instantly recognize it's her hungry whine. Naya glances around not wanting to go in the house away from Heather but obviously, there are a lot of people around including all of the guys so she doesn't exactly feel like taking her boob out for everyone.
Before she can start overthinking about it too much, Heather takes the blanket that's draped over them and adjusts it to create a privacy wall for her girls. Heather kisses Naya's cheek and smiles at her wife.
"Don't worry love, I got you. You just focus on what you need to do my love, I'll take care of everything else for you both." Heather whispers with a smile.
The blanket is fully shielding Naya and the baby from anyone outside the three of them. Naya pulls up her shirt reluctantly as she's still feeling very vulnerable and violated after what occurred earlier. Naya opens her nursing bra before positioning the baby so she can latch on properly. As soon as Sophia is nursing, Naya looks up hoping everyone isn't staring knowing she's partially uncovered. Heather senses this and kisses her shoulder.
"Focus on our baby, beautiful. Nobody will see you, I'll make sure of it. I'm right here." Heather reassured her nervous wife. Naya leans her head on Heather's shoulder continuously keeps thinking how grateful she is to have her in her life.
"Thank you, baby. We love you so much." Naya manages to whisper out still clearly shaken up by what happened. Heather knows this and instantly snuggles her wife closely while peeking down at her baby girl whos enjoying her dinner.
Heather has an idea to change the subject and get the attention off of Naya, which she knows is making her uncomfortable. Naya is confused when she sees Heather eagerly bringing out her phone from her pocket. Heather keeps smiling as she taps the screen to unlock her phone and goes right to the photos that Alicia sends her and tilts the phone to her wife so she can see why she was so enthusiastic. Naya quickly smirks and looks down at her baby girl before nodding to Heather. The group is confused at what the sudden smiles are about just as Heather opens the image of her baby girl first.
"Here guys pass this around..." Heather grins and hands the iPhone to Chris who's seated next to her.
"No WAY! My fashionista! Oh, my heart can't take this." Chris declares while holding his hand over his heart before passing the phone to Diana.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding! Look at her!" Diana squeals as she looks it closer before handing the phone to Amber.
"No! No! Soph! Dear lord... so I'm gonna need a copy of that. None of that four-by-six nonsense either, I'll be giving you money for an actual large framed wall portrait of my babes." Amber asserts making Naya and Heather giggle and nod.
"Stop! Seriously she's the fucking cutest child!" Kevin let out and the phone continued to be passed around and everyone was going crazy for the image of Sophia before the phone got back to Heather and she pulled up the last one of all three and handed it to Chris.
"Holy Shit..." Chris mumbled entirely speechless. His jaw was pretty much on the floor as he stared at what looked like a high fashion stunning image of the three girls.
"Jesus! Ok, this is insane!" Diana said
"Be still my heart! Would it be weird to hang this large in my house too?" Amber asked causing Heather and Naya to laugh and nod.
"That would probably be a little weird. Sophia images I can see, she's your goddaughter but a big portrait of your best friends on your wall when you are not even in it, might be taking it a little extreme, A." Naya laughed out
Everyone passes the gorgeous image of the trio around and stares in complete awe at how stunning they are as a family. They all tell Naya how beautiful she looks after just having a baby and compliment Heather once again on the fact that she's wearing a dress.
"I never thought I'd see Hemo in so many dresses in such a short time..." Harry jokes
"Alright! Ok, I'm whipped!" Heather says throwing her hands up in defeat making the others laugh and Naya stares over at her lovingly. Heather winks back at her wife and then down at her baby girl who took the nipple out of her mouth and is staring up at her mothers.
"Hi, my little love! Are you all finished? Did mami give you a yummy dinner again?" Heather asked the newborn softly whole reaching under the blanket to stroke her daughter's cheek.
"I hope so. Mami wants to give you the best, don't I Mija." Naya asks the baby as she closes her nursing bra and hands the infant to Heather so she can pull her shirt back down.
Heather takes her tiny newborn daughter and starts patting her on the back delicately while kissing the side of her head. Naya cuddled close to her wife as she admires how much she loves their daughter. She swear she could stare at the two of them all day if she could.
The rest of the evening went off without a hitch. Once Mark was gone the group made barbeque and told countless funny stories about Harry and their favorite moments on set with him over the years. They ended the evening all lounging around the fire.
April 20th, 2015
It had been two weeks since Harry's birthday and nobody had heard from Mark, which to be honest, everyone especially Naya and Heather are relieved. They need a break from whatever the hell is going on in that mind of his. Heather wants him nowhere near her family. She has been even more protective than usual since this happened. She is constantly worried about both of them making sure they're alright. They've stayed extremely close to home over the past two weeks and have made the effort to be together just the three of them. Sophia was now officially a month old today and they can't believe how fast it's already going. People always say this, but until you experience it for yourself and watch a child grow and change right before your eyes, it's hard to understand exactly what it means.
Heather is pouring herself a hot cup of coffee that had just finished brewing in the coffee pot before grabbing a muffin and orange from the counter and taking her place on the barstool like she did every morning. She usually takes this time to read through her socials, check her emails, and catch up on anything she missed overnight. It had been about ten minutes since she sat down before she hears the unmistakable sound of Naya walking into the room. Heather smiles and swivels her chair around to face her beautiful wife who is holding their baby girl who is wide awake in her arms. Those blue eyes met Heather's right away.
"Hi, little love! Good morning my dolly!" Heather says happily as she takes the small baby from Naya's arms so her wife can grab her one cup of coffee she's allowed for the day.
"Hi, baby," Naya said while tilting Heather's chin enough to peck her lips. Heather smirked and leaned in for another kiss right away.
"Mhmm good morning, beautiful" Heather mumbles into the kiss before winking at her wife who grabs the coffee cup that Heather always puts out for her after getting her coffee. It's always been one of those little things that Heather does that makes Naya blush. It's such a simple thing but that was Heather's forte, all these small things that mean so much to Naya that show her she always cares.
Heather is taking a sip of her coffee when her phone chimes with a new text message. Naya's goes off at the same time so they can only assume that it's one of their group chats. Naya doesn't even bother checking her phone and looks right at Heather who nods back to her confirming what she had expected. It was the Glee group chat.
Incoming Amber: Naya Heather, guuuurls. We love you and love that you have taken this time with your family but we miss Soph. *tear face emoji*
The girls laugh because they knew it was only a matter of time before one of them got a text like that.
Outgoing Heather: Say you miss us...
Incoming Jenna: Kinda...but we miss Soph more. Let's hang out tonight. You two can come too if you want...
"Unbelievable. How the hell do they think Soph will get there without one of us? Hey, remember when they used to give two shits about us?" Naya feigns offense as she grabs her phone to add her two cents to this conversation. Heather giggles and shakes her head while taking a sip of her coffee and cradling her baby against her chest so Sophia can snuggle into her neck like she always does.
Outgoing Naya: Alright, look losers. We will come but Sophia can't she's busy.
Heather looks over at her wife and shakes her head. Naya just found so much delight in torturing them.
Incoming Chris: Then what's the fucking POINT!
Outgoing Naya: I hate all of you.
Incoming Harry: No you don't.
Outgoing Heather: Alright break it up, children. Now, what is everyone thinking of doing and where? I've been in protective mode lately so don't push it!
Outgoing Naya: Aww baby you're cute! *side kiss emoji*
Heather smirks at Naya's reply before kissing her on the cheek. "Are we really texting like I'm not sitting right beside you?" Heather laughs out. Naya just shrugs and smiles before winking at the love of her life.
Incoming Kevin: Jesus girls. Blehhhh. Now is Sophia attending this damn thing or not?
Incoming Lea: She better be. My place 1:00 pm? We can hang out in the backyard by the pool, then maybe a movie tonight? Who's in?
Incoming Vanessa: Oh totally. But if Soph isn't coming neither am I.
Heather and Naya look at each other and shake their heads. Their friends were unbelievable, nevertheless, the proof that they adore their daughter so much does bring a smile to their faces. They just have to get used to not being the star of the show anymore. Heather looks at Naya who rolls her eyes but smiles back at her wife. They both nod and kiss Sophia's head on both sides as she lays on Heather's shoulder. She was awake but enjoying cuddling with her momma. She wasn't a morning baby, so it took her a while to wake up...like someone else Heather knew.
Outgoing Heather: OK. Fine, you can expect the three of us there. She's never been in the pool though and we don't have a swimsuit for her yet.
Incoming Chris: DONE. It's already in my bag. *Shopping bag emoji*
Outgoing Naya: How in the hell? ...You know what never mind. *face palm girl emoji*
Incoming Chris: IM PREPARED.
Incoming Diana: I'm in!
In the next ten minutes, everyone had confirmed that they planned to come and bring their swimsuits. It was a super nice day and not smoldering hot with the full-on sun beating down on them so they were curious and excited to see how Sophia would react to the pool.
"Well, I guess we don't have to worry about getting her a swimsuit..." Heather giggled and kissed her daughter's head.
"I've given up trying to reign that man in. If he wants to buy her shit, I have accepted that there is no stopping him." Naya utters as she gets up from the barstool and puts her empty coffee cup in the sink. This was going to be a fun day, even Naya had to admit she was excited to see their friends again, even though they don't give two shits about anyone other than Sophia anymore. I guess if she was going to give up the spotlight for everyone it would be their daughter. The thought of an older Sophia with their friends was almost too cute to imagine, well that and the thought of Sophia getting older at all made the waterworks flow for Naya. So she quickly retracted her thoughts before she started randomly bawling in the middle of the kitchen.
The girls were just entering Lea's neighborhood when Naya received a new text message. She reached for phone out of her bag that was sitting on the floor by her feet and ruffled through it until she found the device.
"Chris," Naya said as she waved the phone. Heather nods and glances over quickly before turning her eyes back on the road.
"What does he want?" Heather asked curiously as Naya shrugged and unlocks her phone to open the text message.
Incoming Chris: Almost here? IM WAITING...for Soph. *Gif of a man staring impatiently out the window*
Naya burst out laughing because at this point this shit was ridiculous. She quickly shows Heather while they are at a light and she laughs right along with Naya and shakes her head.
Outgoing Naya: We are on our way. Sophia decided not to come.
Incoming Chris: WHAT?!
Incoming Chris: Wait...who the hell is with my mini-me?!
Incoming Chris: OMG! You tricked all of us so we would come and didn't bring Sophia after all! This is the kinda shit that makes people have trust issues!
Outgoing Naya: CALM THE FUCK DOWN! She's in the backseat. *eye roll emoji*
Incoming Chris: That was mean...just get here. I've been staring out the window for quite a long time. I've counted 54 blades of grass before I lost track...
Outgoing Naya: Good lord. I think we need to get you on a whole different kind of grass...Two minutes Colfer.
"These people are insane." Naya signed heavily but shook her head with a smile. Heather set her hand on the center console and Naya immediately laid hers on top until their fingers were interlocked. Naya raised their hands and kissed her wife earning a smile from the blonde.
"Yeah and that's the gem we chose to be her godfather." Heather looks at Naya before bursting out into a burst of hearty laughter. Naya glares over at her.
"Finally!" Chris yells as he runs out of Lea's front door over to the car they just parked behind the others that were along the driveway. He said it so loudly that they could hear it even though they haven't opened the car doors yet. Heather giggles before grabbing her bag and walking over to Naya's side and opening the car door for her wife. Naya was putting everything back in her bag including her phone charger in case one of them would need it at some point. Naya smiles and takes Heather's offered hand and carefully steps out of the vehicle before Heather places a sweet kiss on her lips as she tilts her head up. Naya smiles back at her life like a lovesick puppy and completely forgets they are alone. Chris fakes a cough snapping them out of their love bubble.
"So can I take her out while you two make out? It's not like I've been waiting for four hours, twenty-seven minutes and thirty-eight...thirty-nine, forty, fo..."
"Yes! You can grab her! Just shut up!" Naya hollers tilting her head back in annoyance until her eyes are pointed at the sky.
Heather smiles big and takes this opportunity to kiss her wife on the neck in the way she loves while both of her hands are stroking up and down her back. They were completely in love, not even they could believe it. They truly weren't whole without the other.
They finally look up and see the backseat door wide open and an empty car seat. Chris is also nowhere to be found.
"How long were we making out?" Heather said amused but kept stroking the side of her wife's face with the back of her hand. Naya always melted at her wife's simple touches.
"I honestly have no idea but we should probably make sure our baby girl is okay and not being swarmed by the crazies!" Naya said as she rolled her eyes.
"Come on, beautiful. Let's go see our daughter...and the rest of these clowns that we for some reason still associate with..." Heather responds making her wife giggle.
They grab their purses and diaper bag from the backseat. Chris must have just taken Sophia and ran off forgetting the rest of her things. they close the doors of the car and lock it up before walking towards the front door and shutting it behind them.
"There they are!" Amber said happily moving to hug the girls.
"Wow, you guys actually remember us?" Naya gasped sarcastically causing the girls to chuckle.
"As much as I'd love to chat I won't be able to calm down until I know where and who has my baby girl," Heather announces making Naya nod and gaze at their friends as she hugs Heather so their stomachs are pressed together. She loved when Heather got protective.
"Right here!" Chris says as he enters the room holding Sophia against his chest like she's sitting in a chair. She has on a white swimsuit with red cherries all over it. It's a one-piece and the curve around the hips has little red ruffles on both sides.
Naya and Heather both gasped and squealed unable to contain their admiration for their daughter. Their baby girl had on matching red sunglasses and a white fabric floppy hat with a little ruffling that went all the way around. It was the most obnoxious yet adorable thing anyone had ever seen...but is also Chris they were talking about so they expected nothing less.
"Oh my god!" Naya and Heather squeal out in unison. They don't think they've ever seen anything sweeter in their life.
"Do not let her touch that pool until we're holding her and we are both with her... understand?" Heather lets out in a serious mom tone making them all nod. There was no way she would forgive herself or anyone else if they weren't in the pool for that moment to witness but also protect their baby girl. It was still a huge pool and a tiny baby, it was nerve-wracking for both of them.
"Agree. We will grab our suits and come out. Please keep her out of the direct sun..." Naya said as she pulled her and Heather's suit out of the pink and white striped tote bag that they brought.
Chris doesn't speak he just puts his sunglasses on and puts Sophia's on right after and he carried his tiny partner in crime towards the patio door which Amber giggled as she opened it for him.
"He's lost his mind but he was working on that suit so hard. It's actually kind of cute." Amber said while opening an ice tea from the cooler right outside the patio door.
"Hold up...what?" Naya asked as Heather looked up and was curious as well.
"Yeah, you know his ultimate goal is wanting to be in fashion someday. He's good. He made that swimsuit by himself. He kept saying none of ones he found are right so he watched some tutorials and completely made a damn baby swimsuit on his own." Amber told the girls whose jaws dropped in shock.
"Aww! That's so cute! Those two will cause us trouble someday. I just know it!" Heather said with a cute smile. Naya also couldn't help picture Chris and Sophia together.
"Wow, even I have to admit that's impressive. I would have guessed it was some name-brand baby designer. I wouldn't have been able to tell a difference." Naya admitted still surprised
"Alright baby, did you want to get dressed quick so we can join our daughter?" Naya said while handing her wife her aqua-blue bikini. Santana grabbed her black one with chrome circle hardware on the sides of the bikini bottom.
"Absolutely," Heather responds.
"You look so damn hot, damn..." Heather breathes out practically drooling as her wife steps out in her black bikini, her hair up in a messy bun at the top of her head and her black sunglasses on her head. Heather's blue swimsuit made her eyes look even bluer than they already are. It was gorgeous.
"You're eyes baby..." Naya says looking into the blue orbs that she loved so deeply.
Do you have any idea how gorgeous you look, Naya? How did you just give birth to my child?" Heather said as she was throwing the diaper bag over her shoulder while Naya grabbed their tote bag with their sunscreen, towels, and other miscellaneous things.
"Baby..." Naya says while looking down shyly at her barely-there bump.
"Naya, you are truly the most stunning person in every way. You completely blow me away every time I look at you." Heather confesses as she slowly traces her fingers over her wife's stomach and then up and down her arms causing Naya to shiver. "I treasure every beautiful thing about your body. It's a masterpiece." Heather says softly while kissing her wife on the lips and slipping on her flip-flops.
"God, I love you so damn much. Thank you for loving me the way you do. Thank you for loving our daughter the way you do. We could never have anyone better." Naya says while pressing another kiss to her wife's lips.
"Come on beautiful, let's go see our baby girl," Heather says as she puts her hand on the small of Naya's back and follows her out of the bedroom.
As soon as they get down the main stairs that are directly in front of the patio door that leads out to the backyard, they look confused but amused at the same time when they see every single one of their friends with their phone in hand and pointing it towards something that they can't see from where they're both standing. They're not going to lie and say they didn't assume it was their child that was getting all the attention, that would be pretty nieve of them, but wouldn't one camera be sufficient and then just send the photo to everyone in the group chat? Eleven cameras in their daughter's face seemed slightly excessive.
"How much do you want to bet that our daughter is the center of that madness? Come on, love, I'm about to go all momma bear on their asses for acting like paparazzi around my baby girl!" Heather said getting slightly tenser at the thought, especially after their last experience.
"Come on Snixx..." Naya teases and Heather whips her head around and narrows her eyes until she realizes she did go into Snixx mode without even realizing she did it...
"Oh god," Heather mumbles as she puts her head in her hands and shakes her head. "I've been living with you for too long." Heather groaned. Naya looks up and smacks her arm.
"Ow!" Heather says grabbing her arm.
"You know where the damn door is. You can leave anytime!" Naya counters back at her wife. Heather grabs her hips and places a passionate kiss on her wife's lips and then traces her jawline with her finger.
"It's like a revolving door, I'd just come right back in. Plus nobody else will put up with you two beautiful monsters in the mornings..." Heather giggled earning a playful glare from her wife. Naya couldn't even try to be mad with Heather, it was completely pathetic and made her badass Snixx image go down the drain.
"You love us," Naya said as the opened the patio door and looked back at Heather.
"More than anything," Heather responded making Naya blush. "Come on beautiful, let's so save our baby girl from those vultures." Heather chuckles and grabs her wife's hand.
Heather and Naya close the patio door and walk over to the other side of the pool in the grassy area behind it where everyone is quietly squealing and freaking out over something, while their phones are still very much in hand.
"What on earth are you guys doing?" Naya interrogated curiously struggling to see over everyone but people were kneeling and standing so it was impossible.
"Guys where is my baby girl?" Heather pleads while getting slightly impatient.
"You guys are going to die!" Jenna says as a couple of them move out of the way.
The next thing Heather and Naya see is their baby girl in her white and cherry ruffle swimsuit, her white ruffle floppy hat, red sunglasses. She was laying in a mini-sized lounge chaise with a thick pink cushion that had a little princess crown on the cushion. The chaise had padded side rails because at this point, why the hell not... this was so damn extra already, they might as well throw in some baby side rails.
"What the..." Heather mumbles with a huge smile.
"Oh. My. God...wait how in the hell is she just sitting there letting you take photos?" Naya questioned amused but smiling and kneeling by the chaise while Heather does the same on the opposite side.
"She passed out like five minutes ago..." Vanessa says laughing hysterically behind them while covering her mouth and some of the others join in.
Heather looks at Naya and both of them are beaming with their mouths open and Heather gently tilts down her daughter's tiny sunglasses to see that she is indeed sound asleep. They can't help but cover their face in their hands because this was the cutest fucking thing either of them has ever seen. Heather secures the sunglasses back over her closed eyes and takes her own photo before giggling and urging everyone to let her sleep while still shaking her head.
"Hold up!" Naya says quietly while turning around towards a few of the friends who were right behind them still. "Where did you even find something like this? I've never seen anything like this in a store." Naya asked and Heather took her eyes off Sophia for the first time to look at her friends curiously.
"My dad made it at his woodshop and Chris sewed and made the cushions. There are baby lounge chaises out there you can buy but they don't have side rails, and well, my niece was not getting on any damn chaise without safety rails. The nice thing is when she grows up they can be taken off." Amber said with a smile as she snickers and pointed to her goddaughter. She couldn't get over how damn cute this was. Naya and Heather giggle and look back at their daughter.
"Seriously you both, you're amazing. Thank you for everything you do, honestly. More important than anything, thank you for loving our little girl. The fact that we can trust you and we know that whole-heartedly is more than we could ever ask." Heather confessed as Naya grabbed her hand just above where their daughter's head rested on the cushion.
"I second that. We love you guys so much. This darling bed, the swimsuit, Chris that's seriously impressive. Does this mean my girl owns a one-of-a-kind Colfer piece?" Naya winks at her friend who smirks back at her.
"Oh, my fashionista will forever have one-of-a-kind pieces. When I have my fashion label and put out a kid's line, she'll be the first to wear anything. Soph can tell you about it later, we've already spoken about this..." Chris explains while turning and waving his hand before giving Naya or Heather the opportunity to reply.
"That boy is crazy," Amber mutters as she rolls her eyes.
"Shut up... you are just as bad and you know it," Heather says through a chuckle.
The girls had laid their towels on either side of the lounger in the grass and watched their diva daughter sleep in her new custom getup. They're still shaking their heads at how incredibly extra this is but with their group of friends they are completely powerless and they'll have to accept that.
About fifteen minutes later their daughter starts to stir and the girls immediately put their hands on her to make sure she doesn't tip over. Heather reaches over to pick her up and lifts off her sunglasses to see her exquisite blue eyes.
"Hi, my dolly! Did you have a good nap, honey?" Heather said as the baby rubbed her eyes before leaning in her momma's shoulder. It usually takes a little time for Sophia to wake up after she sleeps. Naya gleams at Heather as she rubs their baby's back gently and whispers to her how much she loves her. It's those minor things for Naya that make her so genuinely happy.
"Go ahead, my love, I'll just let her wake up for about five more minutes, and then I'll join you ladies by the pool." Heather smiles at her wife who slowly nods her head and walks over to Heather places a kiss on her lips and one on her daughter's head.
"Love you, baby. Love you Mija. My two girls." Naya says before winking and sauntering to the pool with the towel still wrapped around her. Heather can't stop gaping at her wife. She was gorgeous. She deserved to be cared for with every ounce of respect in the world. The fact that at one moment in time she wasn't treated well, and still isn't by that one person makes Heather seeth with anger. Heather never got angry unless it pertained to her wife or child. If someone hurts them she's not afraid to fight back. She is broken out of her thoughts when she sees her daughter's beautiful blue eyes wide open and plants a kiss on her forehead. She can't believe how much she cherishes this little girl.
She gets up slowly putting the hat back on her daughter's head to defend her sensitive eyes from the sunlight and clasps her mini sunglasses and carries them.
"You want to go swim, beautiful? Mami's in there with aunt Jenna, Amber, Nessa, Lea, and Di. Should we go see what they're up to my love?" Heather whispers to her baby girl while nuzzling her close.
The other six girls are on the opposite side of the pool by the patio door side. They were by the edge since they had drinks on the side, and were giggling and chatting away. Heather perched on the end of the pool dipping her feet in the water realizing it felt like bathwater. It had to be about 88 in there. She was hoping it wouldn't be too cold otherwise they couldn't have brought Sophia in, but she certainly wasn't expecting this temperature.
Heather sits with her legs dangling in the water and her baby girl against her chest while she holds her legs at her knees like she's sitting in a chair. She couldn't look more adorable in her cherry swimsuit and floppy fabric hat which is keeping the sun off her eyes and her body. Heather had reapplied her sunscreen after she woke up to ensure she was protected. When it came to her baby girl she could never be too careful. The girls finally turned around and noticed the two of them sitting on the opposite side of the pool and picked up their drinks and walked over making sure to keep the beverages far enough above the water. Naya had the biggest smile on her face seeing both of her girls ready for the pool.
"Hola Mija!" Naya said to her baby girl who began moving her arms and legs when she saw her mami. Naya couldn't contain the smile that was plastered on her face at the sight of her daughter so excited to see her. Heather smiles and holds out the baby for Naya to carefully hold, making sure she has a tight grip before letting go. Once the baby is safely in Naya's arms, Heather wastes no time in lowering herself into the water soaking in the warmth.
"Lea, do you always keep your pool this warm? It feels like bathtub water! It's so nice!" Heather grins looking towards Lea
"Yes. I hate swimming in cold water. I'm always cold too so that's the prominent reason I keep it warmer. When we were talking about doing a pool party earlier I made sure to turn the heater up a couple of degrees so it was pleasant and comfortable for Sophia." Lea explains with a smile while picking up her drink and taking a sip. Heather and Naya smile at her gratefully.
"Heather, I'm going to lower her..." Naya announces while glancing at Heather who walks right next to Naya as she was still holding the baby up high enough that she hadn't touched the water yet. Heather nods and Naya slowly lets her daughter's feet dip in the pool. Vanessa takes out her phone to record from the side letting it rest on the concrete so she didn't drop it. Heather and Naya didn't even notice her recording, they were way too involved in the moment that they didn't even think to do that, which they would soon regret.
Naya eases Sophia in the water a little more until her legs are fully submerged and the water comes up to her waist. Sophia's kicking her legs seeming to enjoy it. Bathtime was always really easy for her and it was never a struggle so it would have been a big shock if she hated the pool.
"Soph my love, do you like it, honey?" Heather says with a massive smile as she watches her baby girl bat her arms up and down sometimes splashing herself in the face a little bit.
All the girls laugh as Sophia enjoys the water for the first time when a realization dawned on Naya and Heather.
"Damn it! Why weren't we recording our baby's first time in the pool!" Heather said putting her hands over her face. Naya looked like she almost wanted to cry. Every milestone of Sophia's was so momentous and they love the pool and water so the fact that they didn't even think to document her first time was agitating.
"I'm on it!" Vanessa declared from the side of the pool where she was still holding her phone in landscape mode and keeping it focused on Sophia. The girls turn their heads in her direction.
"Vanessa? Wait when did you start recording?" Heather inquired hopefully. Naya looked over at her wondering the same thing.
"Auntie Nessa started recording before Soph was even in the water. I'll send it to both of you when I'm done. She might still do something cute still so I'm not stopping!" Vanessa said cheerfully and Heather smiles and claps at her before going to the side of the pool and giving her a big hug.
"God, thank you, Ness! I can't believe neither of us thought to do that." Naya said while shaking her head. Vanessa immediately responded not wanting either of them to beat themselves up over it.
"Hey, you girls were in the moment with your baby! There's enough of us around to take a video for you so you can enjoy the moment with her. I'm not going to lie and say I won't watch this over and over again tonight though. My niece is so damn cute!" Vanessa squealed making the others laugh.
"Here baby" Naya says as she holds out their daughter for her wife who happily takes her. Naya immediately goes over to Vanessa, who now has the phone focused on Heather and Sophia, and hugs her.
"Thank you for thinking of doing that for us. Mommy brain is a real thing guys, but we love you so much. You're the best aunties ever." Naya says as she gazes at her loves who are now lightly bouncing in the water.
About two and a half hours later it was dark out and the group had all gone inside and were gathered in the living room. They planned to watch a movie and hang out on the couch. The girls were huddled on the couch since it was a large fabric sectional that could easily fit all of them. The boys laid some pillows on the carpeted floor and sat up against the couch. Sophia was taking a nap in the swing that Lea got to keep at her house. Sophia loved her swing at home and since Lea's house seemed to be the one everyone congregated all the time, Lea figured she'd get a swing to keep over here because that wasn't something you could pick up and lug around every time they came over.
About twenty minutes into the movie Sophia was sound asleep in her swing that was gently rocking her from side to side. She had a big day so it's not surprising to Heather or Naya that she's taking an extra nap before bed. Heather was relaxing in the corner of the sectional with Naya curled into her side and resting her head on her wife's shoulder. Naya's hand was in Heather's lap with her palm facing up as her wife was tickling and drawing different shapes on her palm which made Naya let out a moan of pleasure every so often. The other girls would take turns glancing at the couple who were so in love it always made them think about finding something like that for themselves.
About an hour and a half into the movie the guys were on pins and needles waiting for the hot girl to appear which was part of the cliffhanger. They had bets going about which of the girls would show up and it was a huge deal. The girls were rolling their eyes at the men who were way too into this. As the character was about to approach the door revealing one of the two girls, the guys were getting more anxious, they were without a doubt also playing it up for the girls just to annoy them and the ladies knew that. The character opened the door revealing a gorgeous blonde girl and the guys shouted and screamed their satisfactions while completely forgetting there was a baby in the room. They guys must instantly remember this and cover their mouths wondering which of the two moms is going to kill them first.
They all whip their heads to Sophia who has her lip pouted so far out as she was quivering before big tears started streaming down her face. Heather is up and off the couch before anyone can blink and lift her baby girl into her arms while gently bouncing her. Heather holds her so she can bury her face in her neck as she always does and that's exactly what Sophia does and instantly knows she's with her momma.
"You're okay, beautiful, let's so see mami. I've got you. Those damn uncles of yours..." Heather says walking back over to the couch but not before sending a glare to the boys. Naya was eagerly waiting for them as she shot Snixx daggers at the boys for having the audacity to upset her baby girl. Naya already had her arms wrapped around both of them before Heather sat all the way down. Sophia was only whimpering now as she felt both her mothers surrounding her.
"We've got you Mija. Te amo, mi amor. (I love you, my love)" Naya says soothingly.
The night finishes with the little family cuddled on the couch as their friends lounge around them as they watch the final minutes of the movie. Sophia is now fast asleep once again with her face taking in the comforting scent of her momma while Naya has her arm around her daughter's back making her feel extra safe and secure. This turned out to be a great day with their friends. Sophia had completely enjoyed the attention and can't imagine the little diva they would have on their hands once she grew up and was able to realize how spoiled she was. Both of the girls knew they would raise a very grateful and humble little girl though. Heather and Naya caught each other's eyes and shared a look as if they were both thinking the same thing about the future with their daughter. They couldn't wait to see what life had in store for them.
