Today was the day of the big cast interview on The Ellen Show. The cast of Glee was getting the entire one-hour time slot. Ellen had made it known many times that she loved the show as well as her nieces so she was more than thrilled to have a whole program focused on this show that she was a fan of. This was a huge deal for any primetime show and a great promotional opportunity for the cast.
Ashley had arrived in LA around 9:00 pm the night before so she had just missed Sophia before she went to bed for the evening. This morning Ryan had sent everyone a text at 7:00 am that they must be at the Ellen studio by 11:30 am as the show started filming at 1:00 pm. There was a large group of them together this time and Ryan didn't want to be scrambling. He liked everything exceptionally organized like a well-oiled machine.
Heather was woken by her usual 6:30 am internal alarm clock, she was always a morning person. She rarely needed to utilize her alarm as she typically woke up several minutes before it went off. Her wife and daughter were the polar opposite. Naya would be a hot mess without her alarm. Even though she swears at it every morning wanting to chuck it across the room, she couldn't survive without it.
Heather shuffled into the kitchen to make herself a steaming cup of coffee to start her busy day. After she went to the refrigerator and placed the creamer back in after adding a generous amount to her coffee she took her usual seat on the barstool at their kitchen island. Heather took the first sip of coffee and sighed blissfully as she opened her iPhone and saw the text from Ryan before seeing a few replies from her friends since he sent the message in the group chat they created for the cast.
Incoming Ryan: Alright, gang. Be at the Ellen lot by 11:30 am and not a minute later. Lots of cast means lots of prep so be on your A-Game.
Incoming Amber: Alright Boss.
Incoming Kevin: You got it.
Incoming Naya: Isstoeartolk (It's too early to talk). *angry face emoji*
Heather lets out a throaty chuckle at her wife's sleepy response. She can just picture Naya trying to send that angry text while half asleep. God, she loved that woman.
Incoming Ryan: I don't know what the hell you just said Rivera but your ass better get up and be there on time.
Outgoing Heather: I know honey, it's too early to text. Love you, beautiful. Go back to sleep for a while, my love. xx P.S. Don't worry Ryan we will be there.
Incoming Lea: You two make me sick...
Heather giggles before taking the last sip of her coffee and gently tossing the cup in the sink before making her way back up the staircase and going to the second door on her left. She peeks inside and sees her daughter sleeping like a rock. Totally her mami's daughter in that aspect. She shuts the door carefully to avoid making any noise before walking straight across the hall directly across from her daughter's bedroom and opening the door to the master bedroom. Naya is in a bit of a restless sleep from what Heather can tell, presumably because she had been woken up. She hates being disturbed while she's trying to sleep because it's so difficult for her to get back to sleep once she's awake.
"Aww, love. Did they wake you?" Heather said as she approached the bed and took the pillow off her wife's face. She picks up the phone that's right by her left hand on the bed and places it on the side table. "Come here, beautiful," Heather says as she settles into bed and brings her wife into her arms so Naya's head is resting on her chest. Naya signs in contentment as she cuddles close to her wife. "Go back to sleep for an hour my Naya. I'll hold you." Heather said as she hugged Naya tightly.
For the next hour, Heather did various things on her phone and scrolled through her socials to pass the time. There was no way she would be able to go back to sleep again but she was holding her wife who was sleeping soundly again and she wouldn't trade that for the world. Several times she set her phone down and just stroked her wife's long hair while admiring her beauty.
"mhmm, thxlyymehhh (Thanks for laying with me)" Naya mumbled out sleepily as she lifted her head from her wife's chest. When she looked up she saw the sweetest sight. Her wife had her arm wrapped around her back and her other arm was securely around their baby girl who looked like she was just waking up herself. Her fist was up by her face rubbing her tired eyes. Sophia was holding her pink bunny in her hand as she laid her head on her momma's chest.
"You're welcome, my love. You look so beautiful right now sweetheart, absolutely stunning." Heather complimented with a loving smile and stroked her wife's cheek with her hand. Naya blushes and hides her face in Heather's side. Heather giggles at how insanely adorable her wife is.
"Are you ready for today, my love? It should be a lot of fun!" Heather smiled as she combed her hair through her wife's long dark hair.
"Yeah, it will be a lot of fun! I just wish that damn text didn't wake me up. I need to start a no contacting Naya before 10:00 am rule. That seems extremely reasonable if I do say so myself." Naya sighs as she stretches and yawns.
"Buenos dias hermosa! Cómo está, mi amor? (Good morning beautiful! How are you, my love?)" Naya smiles as Sophia raises her head and smiles reaching for her mami. Naya grins back at her daughter and sits up in the bed as she takes her daughter from her wife. "Oh, my sweet baby girl. I love you so much. Ohhh, guess what auntie Ashley is here! Should we go wake her up?!" Naya says with her famous smirk which makes Sophia let out a couple of cute squeals. She probably had no idea what she was excited about but it was adorable nonetheless.
"Come on sweetheart! Let's get auntie Ash up!" Heather cheers while making a move to scoot off the bed as did Naya while she was holding her daughter. Heather places a hand on her wife's back to guide her safety to her feet as they make their way out of the bedroom and go two doors down to the guest room.
Heather opens the door quietly and notices her lookalike sister is still sleeping. She motions for Naya to come in and whispers for Naya to place their daughter on the bed beside Ashley. Both moms go on the opposite side of the bed and bend down so Ashley won't see them right away. Sophia is sitting on the bed with some pillows around her since she's still a little wobbly without them. The second she starts babbling and giggling they notice Ashley start to stir and soon open her eyes.
Ashley looks at Sophia and smiles as soon as she soon as her eyes open. She's still laying flat but picks up her niece and sits her on her stomach.
"Good morning you cute thing! Is this what's going to happen for the next week? Your mothers are going to set you in front of me and then bolt?" Ashley asks the baby who babbles back at her.
"Right?! Whatever, we will do our own thing. There's a lot of trouble people can get into backstage. I hear the snacks provided are pretty good. You and me kiddo." Ashley says to Sophia who is grabbing her nose and giggling.
Suddenly Heather and Naya pop up from either side of the bed and Ashley looks completely unamused.
"We both saw you losers already...you know what? Soph and I have some things to discuss about our backstage pranks were planning. We will catch you immature children later, there's a hot cup of coffee and a lukewarm bottle of Naya's boob milk with our names on it." Ashley says flatly while rolling out of bed and grabbing her niece and walking out the door. Sophia was looking at her moms over her aunt's shoulder and giggling. Heather and Naya laugh and how her daughter seemed to be such a little Snixx in the making.
"Did she just call us children when she's the one planning pranks with our child?" Naya asked amused.
"I could have asked my mom instead..." Heather asks to giggle and shake her head.
"That would have been a freaking backstage riot." Naya laughs at the thought of how excitable Susan gets.
Heather, Naya, Ashley, and Sophia were just pulling into the studio in front of the Ellen Studio. It was 11:15 am so they were a good fifteen early. Heather and Naya were never late to any work events or filming despite everyone always making fun of them for never being on time for anything else in life. As soon as Heather puts the car in park and makes sure they all have their stickers on that security gave them at the gate. They all unpeeled their sticker which had a guest number and Glee written on it with their name. They all attached them to their shirts above their heart. They were able to take them off during the show but they helped everyone know who was with what group an kept the space backstage well organized with so many people.
"Alright kid, let's have so fun I hear actors are entertaining people to prank," Ashley announced with a sly tone and Heather catches her winking at Sophia in her car seat.
"Do not teach our daughter to do bad things or you are fired from ever watching our child again." Heather glares.
"I'm your sister, you can't fire me. I'll haunt you." Ashley says disinterestedly.
"Watch me." Heather fights back.
"Am I going to have to separate you two?" Naya asks with a motherly warning tone
"No..." Both blonde sisters respond looking down at the ground.
Naya giggles and shakes her head. What the hell did she marry into?
Heather hops out of the vehicle and goes straight to Naya's door and opens it for her as she waits for her wife to grab her purse. Heather smiles as Naya gratefully accepts her hand and helps her to the flat cement. Heather places a kiss on her lips before closing the front passenger door and moving to the back passenger door and helping Ashley out of the car as she's holding their daughter on her hip.
"Jeez, Hemo, chivalrous much?" Ashley says with a smile. Naya smiles back at her sister in law
"She sure is. I can't remember the last time I opened my own car door, even though I tell her all the time that I can." Naya smiles at her extremely caring wife.
"I just love my wife so damn much, Ash. I would do anything for her." Heather said shyly and cupped her wife's head to bring her into a kiss and sweet hug.
"Your friends are right, you two are sickening..." Ashley says as Heather smacks her upside the head.
"Ow! Damn!" Ashley said as Sophia giggled making everyone look at her and shake their heads. This kid had the innate ability to make everyone around her melt.
"Come on you three. Let's get in there so I can show Ryan how early I am." Naya says while rolling her eyes. Naya has her Hermes handbag over her shoulder and Heather has her Prada bag and Sophia's diaper bag on her right shoulder while taking Naya's hand with her left. Ashley is carrying Sophia and walking a few steps behind the girls.
Once they get to the door that's labeled talent entrance, they immediately see the cast and Ryan congregating off to the side talking to a couple of producers. Heather opens the door her them as they enter the building. Everyone turns their heads when she hears the door and immediately smiles at Sophia. Sophia reaches out for Vanessa who takes her right away.
"Hey, Soph!" Vanessa said as she kissed her right cheek and brought her in for a snuggle. Ryan begins going over the plan for the cast and what is off-limits to talk about and so on. Sophia is passed to anyone who she reaches for and is loving the attention she receives. After about ten minutes she ended up in Ryan's arms.
"Naya you're on time!" Ryan teased. It was always an ongoing inside joke with the cast. Sophia stares and grips her pink bunny tightly. Everyone laughs in response making Naya do her signature smirk towards her daughter.
"I love that kid." Heather giggles.
The girls were sharing a dressing room and the boys were in the room next door. They were used to this setup anyway after being on tour, so everyone was more than okay with sharing, it was a good way to ward off any nerves before an interview even though this time was going to be a lot less nerve-wracking since the entire cast was together this time. The girls were just doing the final touches on their hair and makeup while Sophia was playing with Diana and Jenna on the couch.
"The last time we were here we were trying to figure out if you should wear a blazer to disguise your belly." Heather smiled accordingly at her wife. They can't believe how much has changed in a short time.
"Wow, yeah I remember. It's when we announced the pregnancy and gender! Now she's our beautiful five-month baby girl..." Naya said while turning her head to glance at her baby girl who's standing on Jenna's lap as she holds her up.
"You're little legs are getting so strong Soph! You'll be walking in no time!" Jenna cheered while pecking Sophia's cheek.
"Love, look at this stuff Ellen left for Soph," Heather said before holding up a blue onesie that said, eat dance love.
The girls had all finished changing into their outfits for the show and we were just hanging out killing time before the show starts. There's a knock at the door and Vanessa opens it revealing Chris.
"Hey, all. Everyone's done changing right? The men are talking about guy shit and I've had enough." Chris sighs annoyed making all the girls giggle at their friend.
"Hang out here my friend. oh, look at this onesie for Soph that was left here!" Heather said as she lifted up the onesie so Chris could see it. Chris gets an instant smile on his face and starts digging through his tote bag. The girls look on fascinated and intrigued. They never knew what that man was going to pull out of that bag. He was like a genie.
"That's adorable! Here I have some J-Crew white denim shorts that have a slightly frayed hem that she can pair with the onesie." Chris says excitedly
"Question, why do you have little girls denim shorts in your bag that just so happen to be my daughter's size?" Naya asks raising an eyebrow but also can't stop the smirk that appears on her face.
"Umm, for fashion emergencies just like this. Duh?" Chris says it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Wait is Sophia coming out with us? Are you introducing her today?!" Lea squealed and the others immediately snap their heads around to look at Naya and Hesther expectantly. The girls shoot each other a glance before shrugging their shoulders.
They were very apprehensive since no photos existed yet of their daughter. They've kept her out of the spotlight. Once they show her there is no going back. They know they'll have to eventually because they will have to go places as a trio and paparazzi and fans are something she needs to be exposed to just enough so her moms can help her understand what's going on and how to keep her safe. This, unfortunately, was a downside of their career but they would have to expose it to Sophia at some point, they couldn't keep her sheltered forever.
"We don't know. We will see how we are feeling. It's a very big deal for us." Heather said cautiously.
"Well at least if you do decide to let her be the star of the show, she will be ready. Oh here's her white Steve Madden's to match the ensemble..." Chris says casually handing over the tiny solid white infant shoes without looking up from his bag. Naya grabs them and shakes her head. God she loved Chris but that man was ridiculous.
Chris turns to Sophia who's standing in Jenna's lap. "Sophia my darling did you want uncle Chris to do your hair?" Chris asked looking towards the infant who immediately held her arms out for her uncle. Everyone subtly shakes their heads with a smirk.
"That's my girl. Here's your bunny. Oh, and here is a new sensory book my darling." Chris coos while grabbing the soft book from his bag. Another thing nobody has seen before today so they could only assume he just bought that too. The book had textures and fur on the animals where their fur was so she could touch and feel different things. This kept her thoroughly occupied while he quickly made two French braids on the sides and pulled her hair up partially so it was half up and half down. He adjusted it so there was a little movement and pouf on top before taking out a large Velvet white bow and putting it into her hair tie to finish off the look. The bow was about five inches wide, so it was the perfect size without being way too small or too overpowering for her tiny frame.
Chris set her book down and took his goddaughter to the mirror across the room and set her feet on the counter supporting her around the waist.
"Look my darling!" Chris says as he points to Sophia's reflection in the mirror which grabs her attention earning a giggle and squeal from the Heya lookalike.
"Stop it! Soph! That's just too cute! What do you say to uncle Chris?" Heather says adoringly. Her cute blue onesie from Ellen with the white writing paired with the white, slightly distressed denim shorts that showed off her cute and chubby baby legs, and white sneakers. Her curly dark hair reached her shoulders already. Nobody could believe the head of hair on that child. Of course, the white bow that Chris put in looked adorable with her wavy long hair.
"That's really damn cute Colfer! Even I will admit that." Naya confessed earning a smirk from her friend who's enjoying this praise from Naya.
"Say it again Satan..." Chris pleaded. Enjoying the praise he was receiving, from Naya especially.
"Ehh, once was plenty. I don't want to inflate your ego too much porcelain." Naya says while facing the mirror and finishing the final touches on her makeup.
"If our mother was here she would be scolding you for being mean to her lovely Christopher..." Ashley said emphatically causing Amber, Jenna, Vanessa, Diana, and Lea to laugh. Naya however rolls her eyes playfully as Chris sticks his tongue out at her. Sometimes they really did act like a group of teenagers.
"I kinda hope you do introduce her to the world today...I mean look at her!" Amber says gesturing to Sophia who's bouncing in Ashley's lap with a huge smile on her face. Naya and Heather share a look and then smile back at their baby girl.
The cast was being introduced in two groups so they all weren't coming out at once. Ryan was the first one out as he talked for about five minutes about the creation of the show and the message behind it. Ellen had two long couches set up. One was on a riser behind the other so it was about a foot and a half higher so the second row could be easily seen. The crowd was already going crazy.
Ellen: "Alright everyone! I'll put you all out of your misery! Here is the first half of the group that started Glee. Please welcome...
Lea Michelle!
Cory Monteith!
Chris Colfer!
Jenna Ushkowitz!
Kevin McHale!
And Diana Agron!
The crowd goes crazy as the first set of the group dances their way out and does their little moves on stage as they make their way towards Ellen who is dancing in her spot a couple of feet from her chair. The audience is yelling out the names of their favorite actors and actresses to try and get them to notice them. Ellen hugs each of them and motions for them to sit on the couch in the back on the risers.
"Look who's here everybody!" Ellen says giving the audience a moment to settle before sitting down along with the cast. "I think they might like you guys..." Ellen giggles out making the cast laugh and waves out to the audience. "Alright, guys relax! We still have half of the cast to bring out for you!" Ellen says and everyone laughs when a few audience members scream out Heya at the same time. "Yes, yes, they might be here too!" Ellen laughs out
"What's up, everybody?!" Kevin says fist-bumping the air making the crowd clap excitedly. The cast laughs out at their enthusiasm and finally settles down in their assigned seats.
"I know we have the rest of the group to bring out, but I just wanted to ask as the original full-time cast members of the show, what's it like seeing the evolution of the show from that first day on set to now beginning the fifth season?" Ellen asks as she settles in her chair and crosses her legs while looking at the cast.
"It's insane! It almost feels like a whirlwind. Between shooting the actual show, appearances, meeting the president, going on tour, and seeing the world, it's hard to not feel like your living a dream sometimes..." Cory said with a smile making the others nod along with them.
"On top of that, we are doing it with this close-knit group that is now considered family for all of us," Chris adds, and Diana instantly chimes in.
"Very true. I see these people more than my actual family." Diana agreed while patting Cory and Jenna on the legs since she was in between them.
"And you've begun filming the fifth season or that's still on the horizon?" Ellen asked the cast members.
"Filming starts next Monday so a week from now. we've started reading the first couple of scripts and rehearsing a bit." Diana answered earning nods from the group.
" Do you have a favorite episode of the show from the past five seasons that stick out to you?" Ellen asked earning perplexed looks from the group. Every episode was so special in its own way but of course, there were a few that would always stick out for them.
"Ohhh wow." Jenna breathed out making Ellen chuckle.
"Come on think Jenna!" Ellen joked making her giggle.
"Man Ellen, you got us there. Gosh, there are so many memorable ones. The Whitney tribute episode for me sticks out a lot. We all had such fun numbers in that episode." Lea answered earning nods and cheers from the audience. The cast looks around trying to shuffle through all the episodes in their minds.
"I enjoyed Rocky Horror. I was surprised and said I wanted to do that at the Paley first our first year and Ryan told me we were! That was a fun shoot." Chris said with a smile.
"I'm not going to lie and say I didn't have a blast when Ricky Martin came on for one episode." Jenna finally answered with a wink. The crowd cheered at her response immediately loving her answer.
"Yeah, I'm gay and I thoroughly enjoy looking at the man..." Ellen joked. The crowd erupts in a fit of giggles as does the cast and Ryan. "How did that particular episode come about?" Ellen asked while turning her attention towards the show creator.
"Ricky was incredibly eager and excited to join the show for that episode. The whole point of the episode was about stereotypes and respecting the Latin culture in particular. We wanted to show off his dance skills and everything that people love when they think of Ricky Martin. Naya's character did a gorgeous number with him as well which was a nod to their respective Latin backgrounds and they performed it perfectly." Ryan answered earning cheers and whoops from the crowd. As Ryan was talking a clip from the performance of La Isla Bonita played on the jumbo screen behind them earning huge cheers from the audience as a few of the cast members turned towards the screen.
"Yeah, I would say they nailed that! So are you all completely sick of each other after a season wraps or do you still hang out during your hiatus months?" Ellen asked the group who looked at each other and giggled.
"Oh, we're always together. It's ridiculous how much time we spend together outside of actually working. Plus we have a new niece so we spend a ridiculous amount of time with her." Chris said with a huge smile. The audience flips out and cheers at the mere mention of Heather and Naya's baby girl who the fans have never seen a glimpse of.
"Oh, yea. Always together and their little girl is precious. She's been the perfect addition to our group!" Cory replied with another big smile which just earned additional cheers from the group.
"I'm pretty sure we are all obsessed with that little lady. She's such a perfect blend of Hemo and Nay." Jenna said as the crowd kept roaring on as the cast described this unknown little girl without giving out any details about her.
Ellen announced a commercial break and that she would be introducing the second and last group of cast members after the break. Everyone was screeching they were so excited. Let's face it. Everyone wanted to see Heya and hear about that baby girl from her mothers.
"What do you think my love? We're almost up?" Heather asked as she kissed her wife's hand as they stood in the entrance with the other cast members who were waiting to be called out. Sophia was hanging out backstage watching on a screen and pointing to all her uncles, aunts that were already out on stage and were being shown on the screen in front of her. She would wave to members of the crew that walked around her which made them wave back and smile at her.
"Ugh, I don't know, I'm so torn," Naya said with a sigh. She knew that they would have to do it sooner rather than later because they had to start venturing out with her. They were just excessively protective after all the experiences they've had.
"Girls, don't feel pressured. You do what feels right." Amber assured patting Heather's back while she hugged her wife close to her chest. "By the way, she's high-fiving random crew guys right now with Ashley." Amber laughs out making Heather and Naya shake their heads over their extremely friendly daughter.
"Alright, the cast of this groundbreaking hit show wouldn't be what it is without these amazing additions that joined the cast permanently from season one to season three. Please give a warm welcome to..." Ellen says before she calls out the names of the second group of cast members. The crowd is already going nuts. At this point, the cast is pretty much deaf from all the screams.

The crowd freaks out and of course, there are tons of people screaming for Heather and Naya after seeing them dance out together holding hands. Everyone is waving to all the cast members as they dance out and jump in their seats. Ellen is standing and doing her jog again near her chair waiting for the second half of the cast to approach her for a greeting.
The cast that's already on stage is standing up for them. They're all not going to hide the tiny bit of disappointment by not seeing Sophia in one of their arms. They were all such proud aunts and uncles they wanted to show her off just as much but they also knew that it was just too abrupt for the girls to make that decision on the spot. They were both so protective of Sophia.
Heather is holding Naya's hand as they wait to greet Ellen. Vanessa, Chord, and Amber have all hugged the talk show host and Harry was just taking his spot on the front couch after greeting the host. Heather looks over at Naya and tilts her head slightly to place a quick peck on her lips. She forgets they're on national television for a brief moment which elicits complete Heya/ Brittana pandemonium and they all giggle at the aftermath one little kiss can cause. The audience is awwing constantly at every little thing they do.
"Good to see you again Heather! Congratulations on the little one!" Ellen said as she hugged the tall blonde dancer. Heather smiled and gave her a big hug back.
"Thank you so much! Thanks for having us back! Nice dance moves by the way!" Heather laughed out and Ellen waved her off.
"Why thank you!" Ellen smiled and Heather moved to the side and placed a hand on Naya's lower back easing her towards the host. The crowd seems to love Heather's interactions with her wife and starts chanting.
Heya! Heya! Heya!
"Look at you new mommy! You look great Naya! Welcome back!" Ellen says and gives the actress a friendly hug. Heather hasn't taken her spot yet and opts to wait for her wife.
"Well don't you know how to make a gal blush. Thank you!" Naya chuckled out and separated from the hug before taking her wife's hand who eases her down in the nearest spot to ellen before settling down herself.
"How are you guys? Welcome to the Ellen show for those who haven't been here before!" Ellen said in a welcoming tone greeting the newest cast members to join them on the stage.
"Thank you! It's amazing here. We're moving in!" Vanessa joked hearing giggles from the cast.
"Thank you Ellen! Wonderful to be here!" Chord added with a smile.
"One hundred percent agree! So much energy here! We will have to pull a couple of these dancers that I've seen in the audience during break Hemo!" Harry laughed out making Ellen look at the crowd who's already raising their hands wanting to be the ones called to dance with them.
"Amazing! What a welcome everyone! Thank you!" Amber smiled and waved towards the thrilled crowd.
"Vanessa, you joined the cast in season three am I right? How was that joining an already established cast and show like that? Was it pretty easy or more difficult than you expected?" Ellen asked the shorter brunette.
"It was a tiny bit hard in the beginning because you have to add a new character into the fold which hopefully the fans grow to love..." Vanessa says before she's interrupted by how the crowd chants and people yell, we love you, Vanessa! She immediately smiles and blows them a kiss and continues. "You all are awesome, thank you! As far as the actual cast reception to me, it was instantaneous. They were so warm and welcoming. Now we hang out all the time and I can't believe I didn't know these people my entire life." Vanessa adds earning awes from the crowd and Harry and Chord lean into her and rub her back in a friendly manner.
"We love Vanessa. She's a hoot!" Harry said with a laugh making the entire cast nod and chuckle in complete agreement.
"So there's something I hear about a baby also being integrated into the group..." Ellen asked casually while leaning back into her seat and crossing her legs. She scans the cast before landing on the two girls closest to her in the front row and giving them an expecting look. Ellen can't even finish before the crowd is practically screaming and shaking in their seats. Heather and Naya give each other a small smile at the excitement and simple mention of their sweet baby girl.
"Baby? I have no idea what you are talking about." Heather shrugs which earns loud laughs from the audience. She was so good at channeling her inner Brittany sometimes and it made the crowd go wild. Naya smiles and kisses her cheek.
"She's the absolute love of our entire life." Naya smiles and leans onto Heather before sitting up straight again. The crowd melts and awes fill the room.
"And how do the rest of you like being aunts and unc..." Ellen starts but is immediately halted.
"GREAT!" Chris says nearly catapulting out of his seat. The crowd immediately laughs and the cast members upfront all turn and shake their heads at their exuberant friend behind them. Heather kisses the side of Naya's head sweetly. Of course, earned a reaction from the crowd.
"Chris and Sophia are something else..." Amber giggles and looks back at her friend and motions to Chris. The others nod smiling and giggling. Chris smiles shyly making the crowd swoon and Diana and Kevin pat his back.
"They really are! We all just adore her. She hangs out on set with us all the time." Jenna added in an adoring tone.
"Since we don't get to see her, tell us a bit about this girl who clearly is the new star of the show. Ryan, have you found a role for her yet?" Ellen asks making the crowd laugh as well as Ryan.
"Maybe she can be Sue Sylvester's little sidekick. That outta be comedic gold right there..." Ryan laughs out with the rest of the cast and the crowd chuckles hysterically as Heather playfully glares behind her since Ryan's in the seat directly behind her.
"And, Momma bear Hemo just came out to play..." Chord chimed in. The crowd laughs and giggles are shared throughout the cast because they all know what he's referring to.
"Oh really..." Ellen teased.
"I may be a tad protective..." Heather says while looking down shyly earning coos from the audience before she continues. "She's my baby girl." Heather finishes and the crowd is looking at each other practically swooning listening to the proud mom talk about her daughter. Heather pouts from her seat as the crowd continues to coo and watches Naya adoringly kiss her wife.
"We are both slightly on the protective side you could say," Naya says while putting her hand on her wife's thigh and squeezing it. "Sophia is a gorgeous little girl. She has the best little personality and has so many people that love her. She's a lucky little girl that's for sure." Naya says as the crowd erupts in adoring cheers.
"What does she look like?! Give me something here!" Ellen begs with an eager smile. This makes the crowd chant as they all wanted details on this baby girl. That's pretty much all they knew is she was a girl. Heather hesitates slightly but decides to share a bit.
"She's absolutely stunning. She has gorgeous dark hair like her mami. She hates mornings just like her mami, she's a snuggle bug and she loves to giggle and laugh all the time. Oh, and she has my blue eyes!" Heather said proudly which makes Naya look over and smile at her and take her hand. The audience is excited as they now know a little more about this baby girl. They could tell there was a lot of confusion when Heather said that Sophia has her eyes. Nobody knows she's biologically both theirs. Everyone assumed biologically she was only Naya's. Heather looks to Naya and nods because they can tell everyone including Ellen is curious but Ellen has no idea how to ask the question without seeming disrespectful.
"Sophia is biologically both Heather and my little girl. We did egg fusion." Naya informs the room earning cheers and some curious faces as some have no idea what this process is. An actual Heya baby with Heather's eyes. For the fans, that was all too much to process.
"Wow! I honestly didn't know that was a thing! Can you give a simple explanation for those who don't know?" Ellen asked the new moms and leaned forward because she was genuinely curious and intrigued.
"Sure! They combine mine and Naya's eggs with the male donor and that's the simplest explanation. The baby is equally and genetically both mine and Naya's child." Heather explains to the room while lifting Naya's hand and placing a kiss on her wrist which of course earns awes and cheers from the newly excited crowd.
"Wow! How enlightening. I feel so educated!" Ellen giggled earning smiles from both of the moms.
"Honestly we had no idea that was an option before we talked to our doctor. It's a newer process but the moment we heard and were informed about it we knew that was the option we at least wanted to try first." Naya responded
"She is seriously the cutest little thing you've ever seen..." Lea said from behind them making the new moms smile and give each other a quick peck on the lips. The crowd cheers in excitement. Heather and Naya are never shy about showing their love but they also keep it appropriate so it's the perfect mix.
"Totally! She is the perfect mix of the two of them." Vanessa added with a smile.
"I'll have to take your words for it! We will take a short break and be back with the cast of Glee! I may or may not have a few games up my sleeve to see if we can get some more details or maybe a baby photo out of you two by the end of this hour!" Ellen teased the moms before the crowd laughs.
Heather and Naya share a giggle as Heather leans over to whisper in Naya's ear over the crowd noise which earns a smile and a nod from her wife.
"Or... We could just let you meet her. Totally up to you though..." Heather added with a shrug and a smile looking at Ellen who looks completely taken off guard. The crowd goes completely silent as does the rest of the cast. Ellen still looks like a deer caught in headlights.
"Wait, really?" Ellen said looking around wondering if this is a joke.
"If you guys promise not to scream in her face and be a little quiet with her as she's never been in front of a crowd before we will let you meet her," Naya says looking towards the crowd who are already cheering but toning it down before the baby comes out. The crowd eagerly nod and Ellen still looks completely shocked.
As a show, of course, this is a huge deal and huge rating boost considering this was already a big show today but everyone has been on pins and needles to meet or see a glimpse of this baby so this was an even bigger deal. Ellen was so extremely thrilled because she was just as excited to meet this little one since the pregnancy was also announced on her show
"Alright everyone, it looks like we get to meet Sophia when we come back from break! We will be right back!" Ellen breathes out as the show cuts to commercials.
During the commercial break, everyone was freaking out. The cast was shocked, to say the least.
"Are you guys serious?!" Chris said practically bouncing in his seat he could hardly contain himself.
"Oh my goodness I'm so excited!" Amber clapped just as excitedly.
"This will be good." Ryan breathed out looking incredibly shocked. He knew this would be rating gold not only for Ellen's show but for Glee as well. This was completely unexpected.
"My momma heart is going crazy right now. Guys as excited as I know you are please also keep an extra eye out on her. With all these people I don't want strangers approaching her so If you see anything please grab her or come get us right away even though we won't be leaving her side. I just, we need to know you're there for her..." Heather said nervously and looks at all her friends including Ryan who all nodded knowing how hard this is for Heather and Naya. They can't imagine how nervous those two must be. Naya leans over and has the same nerves about protecting their baby girl but hearing her wife speak that way about their child makes her heart pound for a different reason.
"Hemo we won't let anything happen to her. You have our word. Just call me Macaw McHale!" Kevin says making everyone turn around to look at them and bust out laughing as he pretends to have an eagle eye out on everyone. Even Naya and Heather laughed at that one. Epic.
"God Kevin! In all seriousness though, we won't let anything happen to her. We are all here for her and you guys." Jenna added earning appreciative smiles from the moms.
"Alright girls, I had Andy go backstage and tell your sister what's going on and she said she will bring her out when I give the cue," Ellen informed the girls who nodded. They knew Ashley was probably just as surprised that this is happening today.
"Now are you going to thank me for going to Nordstroms prior to this interview to ensure Soph has a perfect wardrobe for her appearance..." Chris says fishing for you were right, line from either of the moms. Naya rolls her eyes and looks at her friend as does Heather. He really did save their ass on the perfect outfit to coordinate with her new Ellen shirt.
"Colfer..." Naya warned. Making Heather giggle.
"Say it!" Chris said not backing down. Naya huffed and leaned back in her chair before muttering a quiet "You were right". Chris didn't say anything in response just sat up straight crossing his arms like the King of Genovia or something. Heather giggles because she knew that was painful for Naya to do. She chuckles and kisses her wife on the cheek.
Heather takes a deep breath and nods as Naya leans against her side. This was a big moment for them and their little girl. They just hope Sophia wouldn't be terrified and everyone will be respectful.
"Alright, we are back! You may have heard it here before we went on the commercial break but Naya and Heather are going to introduce everyone to their beautiful baby girl. Again, please keep your voices quiet and respectful, she's a baby so let's not scare her. Alright everyone, let's meet Miss Sophia! Come on out!" Ellen finished before everyone turns and looks towards the entrance including Naya and Heather who nervously await their baby girl. Ashley appears with Sophia on her hip. Sophia was smiling and looked adorable with her Ellen shirt, white shorts, sneakers, and her gorgeous head of hair tied up in a perfect white bow. Alright Chris we have to hand it to you. Sophia started squealing and pointing when she saw all the familiar faces on the couches and clapped at all her uncles and aunties. Ashley kisses her on the cheek as they continue walking towards the group.
The crowd is completely melting in the audience staying true to their word and not shouting or screaming. They were incredibly quiet and just letting out coos and awes at the sight of the mini version of two of the most beloved characters of the show. The second Sophia makes eye contact with her mothers she smiles and reaches her hands out earning continuous awes and people put their hands over their hearts. Ellen is already enamored by the little girl as well.
Ashley smiles at her sister and Naya before handing the baby to Heather and giving Ellen a quick hug before waving and walking to the front row chair in the audience that Ellen pointed to allowing Ashley to stay if she wanted to which she very happily agreed.
"Hi, my little love!" Heather coos at her baby girl and Sophia lays against her chest as her momma kisses her dark curly hair. Ellen smiles right away at how beautiful the child is.
Sophia decides to cuddle both of her moms and gives them her signature sloppy kiss making the rest of the cast members laugh. Sophia sits in Naya's lap where she is practically right on top of Heather too and points to Ellen because she is a new face for her.
"That's Ellen, baby!" Naya says to her daughter while pointing at the talk show host. Ellen gives Sophia a friendly smile and a wave.
"Wait is she wearing an Ellen shirt?!" Ellen asked just noticing the familiar article of clothing.
"Oh yes. Uncle Chris made sure she was ready for today in the event we decided to let her come on. That man is always prepared with a wardrobe for our daughter." Heather laughed causing Chris to smile proudly and the rest of the group and audience to let out a small laugh.
Heather giggles and Sophia is intrigued by this new person and lifts her arms out to Ellen who seems incredibly shocked. Ellen looks at both of the girls and sees them nod their heads with a smile. If Sophia wanted to see Ellen they weren't going to deny her that.
"Come here, you sweet girl! Come see auntie Ellen!" Ellen said while taking Sophia in her arms and pointing to the little girl's shirt making Sophia look down at it and back up at Ellen with a smile. She starts babbling about all the latest happenings from backstage that nobody understands but is equally intrigued by. Sophia adjusts so she's laying on Ellen's chest with her head resting on her shoulder looking out towards the audience. Everyone immediately awes seeing the baby cuddle with the talk show cost. Ellen is loving this as well. Naya and Heather are holding hands thrilled that their baby girl is handling this so well. The rest of their friends giggle and admire everything Sophia does along with everyone else. They were honestly still in shock that this was even happening today.
"So I'm going to be taking her home with me..." Ellen said seriously. Heather whipped her head around and playfully glared at her causing the host to laugh hysterically.
"I'd like to see you try!" Heather playfully countered as Naya leaned her head on Heather and took her hand. The audience was pretty much in Heya and Sophia heaven.
Quiet and respectful nods cheers were heard from the audience. Sophia surprises everyone by giving them a little wave as she was still cuddled into Ellen and looking curiously at the audience.
"Heather and Naya she's beautiful! You were right when you said she has your eyes. I would say they were mine but..." Ellen laughs out making Heather smile and the audience laugh quietly.
"Ha! She's my little girl that's for sure!" Heather stated proudly.
"So we were asking the cast earlier about their favorite episodes and show moments. Do any of you in the front have a favorite?" Ellen asks while Sophia is still cuddled against her.
"Hmm, For me I loved when Naya sang the original Trouty Mouth jingle. That was the best..." Chord answered earning a laugh from the audience the big screen behind them played Naya singing the song. The audience laughed a little louder this time. Sophia Sat up and pointed to the large screen where she saw her mami and squealed causing the cast to turn back around and smile at her.
"Is that your mom?" Ellen asked as she held the baby who was still staring at her mami on the screen. Naya looks at her adoringly and Heather as well.
"I love the slow-motion kiss Heather and I had after we win nationals. I also love Whitney and MJ tribute episodes. The prom episodes are quite fun to film as well." Naya said earning claps from the audience.
"What about you Heather?" Ellen asked the blonde
"I mean Britney coming and dancing for her was a big deal for me even though I had done it a few years prior. I loved dancing with Naya in the Whitney tribute episode as well. Anytime I get to dance with my wife is perfect for me." Heather says earning awes just as the screen played a clip of the girls dancing to I Wanna Dance with Somebody. Sophia squeals excitedly at seeing both of her moms dancing together on a big tv. Everyone is just completely taken with this little girl. Sophia lifts her head to turn and look at Heather and smile before putting her head back down and looking back at the audience. The audience is just adoring this little girl. Naya puts her hand over her heart in total awe at her baby girl.
"Now let's talk about this hair!" Ellen said as she runs her fingers through her incredibly long hair that she's never seen on a baby before.
"She was born with a full, and I mean a full head of hair. It's amazing. Uncle Chris did her hair today backstage." Naya said causing the audience to swoon and cheer quietly because they love the idea that the cast is so close behind the scenes.
"She's my mini-me!" Chris said proudly. Sophia must have recognized his very familiar voice and turned her head in the direction she hears it and hold her arms out for her uncle. Everyone has been awwing and cooing so much that it's pretty much the only sound you hear from the audience anymore since Sophia is non-stop cuteness.
"Who does she want?" Ellen asked fascinated that the cast really wasn't kidding when they said Sophia saw every one of these people like family.
"Probably Chris since she heard his voice..." Heather giggled out. Ellen still has Sophia until Chris speaks up again and it immediately makes the baby raise her arms waiting for him to get her.
"Hi, my darling!" Chris waves at his little fashionista which causes her to raise her arms tighter and open and close her fists signaling she really wants him to hold her.
"You want uncle Chris don't you, Mija? Ok..." Naya says with a smile.
Heather takes the baby from Ellen and Sophia hugs her before Heather passes Sophia to Naya who also gets a hug. Sophia was such a snuggler and so friendly it was almost as if she didn't want anyone to feel left out. Amber was next to Naya who again got a sweet hug from her goddaughter, Amber passed the baby to Vanessa who was able to get a hug and kiss from the baby before finally being able to twist around and hand her to Chris. Sophia had a big smile on her face as her godfather grabbed her she snuggled into his chest resting her head on his shoulder. Again, she was facing away from his neck because that was only something she did with her mothers. Sophia's head was looking at Kevin so grabbed and kissed her hand immediately earning a smile from the infant.
"Alright everybody... so apparently we are renaming the show the Sophia Show! Apparently, my producers are telling me I'm not the one people care about anymore." Ellen says gesturing to the baby who has clearly taken her spotlight. Everyone including the cast had to laugh louder at that but Sophia didn't flinch. She knew she was safe.
"I guess it's pretty safe to say by all the kisses and hugs that baby has given everyone that she's around these people quite a lot..." Ellen smiles as she settles into her seat and talks to the cast.
"All the time. Like Jenna said earlier she comes to set whenever we do, we don't have nannies or sitters so she's with us all the time. She sees these people just as often as we do. They are her family." Naya said which earned loving glances from her cast members.
Once Sophia got her snuggles from uncle Chris she moves down the line and is now in Jenna's arms. Again proving how close they all are with the infant. Naya and Heather glance back often to see who their daughter is with now. This definitely turned into the Sophia show.
"Alright you guys, when we come back we will play a game with the cast of Glee and Sophia! We will be right back don't go anywhere!" Ellen said as the audience cheered. Sophia reached out to Diana who took her from Chris and snuggled her.
"The cast of Glee is all the rage so how about we see how well the cast knows their own show?!" Ellen says making the cast look at each other with playful nervous faces.
"Yeah, let's see how much they actually pay attention!" Ryan says chuckling at the kids next to him.
Heather and Naya look back to see who has their daughter and see she is with Diana now and smile. They check every minute to make sure their daughter is still with one of them. Andy hands whiteboards and markers to every cast member so they can write down their answers.
"Amber performed River Deep Mountain High with which other glee club cast member?" Ellen asked the cast.
"It would be pretty darn sad if we didn't know this one." Cory laughed out.
Everyone revealed their answers as Naya or Santana. The crowd cheers as a clip play in the background.
"Yes, girl! We rocked that!" Amber cheered earning additional hollers from the crowd.
"Ok, next one. In the episode Audition. The New Directions sang which song to try and encourage new students to join?" Ellen asked. A couple of the cast members looked like they had to think about this one. A couple of them had no clue. A few with really good memories were able to jot down the answer quickly. "Alright, answers!"
"Bad Romance!" Kevin shouts and Amber looks over at him and shakes her head.
"Not even a little bit close McHale... Empire State of Mind!"
"Amber's got it!" Ellen says as the clip appears on the jumbo screen. Kevin, Lea, and Chord didn't guess correctly earning giggles from the group.
Sophia reaches for Heather who takes her daughter immediately and Sophia nuzzles into her momma's neck right away earning instant awes from the crowd. This child was just too sweet. Ellen smiles and rubs her back since Heather is right next to her.
"She's adorable... alright, final question. Which of these Journey songs was not covered in the first season: Open Arms, Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin', Anyway you want it, or Faithfully" Ellen asked. The cast really had to go back in the archives of their brain to figure this one out.
"Faithfully?" Chris asked looking at the others. Ellen shakes her head.
"Open Arms!" Lea said and Ellen nods earning cheers.
"So basically what we can conclude is the guys never have any idea what's going on." Ellen laughed causing the girls to chuckle and the boys to playfully glare at the talk show host.
As soon as the hour show ends the cast gives Ellen a hug and thanks her for a great show and having them as guests. Naya is hugging Ellen when Sophia raises her head from her momma's shoulder and smiles at Ellen who tickles her side softly making the girl shyly giggle. Sophia holds out her arms for the host and Ellen still looks surprised every time.
"Are you coming to say goodbye to me? You were such a good little girl and everyone loved you. You come back and see auntie Ellen anytime ok kiddo!" Ellen says as she faces the audience with Sophia and waves to the crowd making Sophia copy her. Heather pulls Naya into her chest as they look at their daughter and can't believe how proud they are of how well she did. She was basically the cutest child in the world and now everyone knew it.
After a few minutes, Ellen had very reluctantly given the baby back to Heather after threatening to take the child home with her again. The girls said their goodbyes as the cast made their way to the dressing rooms and high-fived each other at how incredibly well that turned out. Everyone's phones were exploding and #HeyaBaby and #Sophia were the top two trending topics on Twitter in the US. Everyone was going crazy over how adorable Sophia was.
"Good job Soph!" Lea cheered and clapped making Sophia look up and clap as well. Sophia reached out for Lea who took her and gave her a cuddle. Everyone was praising and admiring the scene-stealer and she was absolutely loving it. She was being passed to everyone while they fussed over her. She was certainly living her best life.
