Tom Riddle settled opposite Harry and Draco, aware of the werewolf and Animagus hovering protectively behind the two boys. "I have a question for you," he spoke to Harry. The boy tilted his head curiously. "With all I did to you in your future, why did you help me?"

"Not what I expected you to ask," he murmured, blinking. "We are all more than our bad choices," he stated. "This time you have the chance to make better ones."

"And if I decided to go down the same path?"

"Then I'll stop you."

His lips curved. "Good thing I decided against it," he murmured. "How would the two of you feel about having a conversation about what changes need to be made in Wizarding Britain?"

"Favourable," they replied in unison.

"The two of you really covered everything," Sirius spoke with pride.

"We have had the time to think about it," Draco retorted.

"And quite a few conversations on the subject," Harry added.

"Why?" Remus asked curiously.

The two shared a look. "We wanted to ensure our future never came to pass," Draco answered slowly.

"And it seemed a shame not to fix everything else we could while we did it," Harry added. Draco gave his hand a squeeze. "I hated how you were treated, for no fault of your own," he spoke fiercely. Remus' eyebrows rose. "You didn't ask to be made a werewolf, and you take steps to make sure you're not a threat to-" he cut off and ducked his head.

"I take it there was a time when I didn't?" Remus asked gently.

"There was," Draco answered. "Extenuating circumstances," he stated. "But that's not why he stopped," he continued. "He's embarrassed."

"Whatever by?" Sirius asked as he settled on his godson's other side.

"It was generally not a good thing if he was the centre of attention," the blonde boy stated. "It was either negative or sycophantic."

"It wasn't-"

"By those other than your close friends," Draco conceded. "Most of the time." Harry tilted his head in acknowledgement.

"Seems there will be some things we need to help you with," Sirius remarked.

"Well," Remus spoke as he settled on Sirius' other side, "they are on track to fix everything else."

"Are you okay with that?" Harry asked seriously.

"I am proud, of both of you, for not only talking about affecting change, but taking the steps to do so," he spoke, voice firm and full of feeling. "I believe the future is in good hands."
