Gromit had finally fixed the alarm system then walked back indoors. He walked into the living space and turned on the telly. Evening news was boring, so he changed it to a drama show. Gromit sat in his chair listening to the show as he crocheted a new vest for Wallace. So far it was still unfinished but he only had the top half of it finished. He had finally finished part of it some time later after he had then realized that it was very late. He suddenly heard footsteps coming down from the stairs. Gromit hardly turned his head as he knew it had to be Wallace looking for a snack. The basement door squeaked open as the footsteps descended. "Oil would be handy on these doors, lad." a voice said. Gromit perked up a small bit as he though Wallace had sounded a bit odd. He set down his handiwork, turned off the telly and followed the voice. Gromit cautiously went down the stairs and started scanning the room. The wolves were curiously quiet as Gromit then noticed the destroyed cage splayed across the floor. He began to look nervously for the escaped animal. Picking up the extended grabber as a weapon, he had a bit more confidence to look for it. He heard the familiar footsteps once again directly behind him. Gromit quickly turned behind him to grab the maker of the noise.

"Oi! What are you doing? Such a way to a hearty welcome old pal!" the creature shouted out. It was a wolf alright, but it seemed to have the ability to speak. It was wearing one of Wallace's vests and a pair of shoes that hardly fit on. It was patiently waiting for Gromit to release it. He finally released it when he figured that the wolf was not a threat to him it landed on the floor with a plop. It picked itself up dusting off dust it may have accumulated then gave Gromit a harsh scowl. "I ought to teach you a few manners." it remarked. Gromit finally recognized the wolf. It was Flipper! The experiment must've caused Flipper to have more human traits from Wallace. Hopefully, Wallace didn't have any catastrophic wolfish traits. Gromit inspected Flipper a bit more, not believing his eyes, before Flipper looked at him with a cheerful smile. "What is for supper lad?" he asked. Gromit looked at him as if to repeat himself. "I hope you make something with lots of cheese." he said as he licked his lips a little. Gromit became curious and handed him a sardine. "Oh. Right." he took the sardine from Gromit by the tail and gave it to a nearby wolf pen. The wolf inside seemed to gobble it up in one bite. "The wolves do need to be fed too, not just us." he chirped with a sharp toothed grin. Gromit shook his head then handed him another as he motioned Flipper to eat it. "Oh no lad. I'm on a strict cheese only diet. I thought you already knew that silly old pooch." Flipper chuckled as he patted Gromit on the head.

"Gromit!" Wallace shouted as he was slowly coming down the stairs. "Is supper almost ready?" His legs creaked a little as he was finally off of the staris. "Ooh- Ah. I need to invent a stair lift soon. I'm getting too old to be going up and down the stairs these days." he complained to himself. Wallace peeked into the dining room to look for Gromit. He was no where to be found. A growing pain then bothered Wallace for a few minutes as he groaned in pain. "Ah- This headache of mine is becoming a pest of its own. Now where is that pain reliever?" He walked into the kitchen and opened the medical cabinet. It was rather shallow supply wise, however there was a bottle of liquid pain relief. He quickly grabbed it and filled the small cup with the right amount he needed. Wallace chugged it trying to avoid the awful taste. "That should help a bit." He shuddered at the aftertaste of the bland medicine. He finally had the realization that Gromit might be in the basement. He walked back into the main hallway, towards the basement. "What are you doing down there lad? Do you require assistance?" Wallace waited at the top of the stairs a minute. Gromit panicked and hid Flipper in an empty box. He quickly stood in front of it when Wallace was carefully coming down the stairs. "Ah! There you are lad. Turns out that nap had me awaken to a rather nasty headache. Don't worry! I took some medicine and I should be feeling in tip top shape soon. I think the Mind-Swapper-2.0 has something to do with these strange features happening to me." A rustle was heard in the box Flipper was hiding in. Wallace focused on the box behind Gromit. "What was that lad? I thought I heard something." Gromit's eyes widened, then he pretended he didn't hear anything slightly leaning on it. Wallace was quick to believe his fib. "Right, I'll be upstairs when you are ready to cook." Wallace was faster going up the stairs then going down. Gromit got off of the box when he knew Wallace was gone. Flipper's head popped out of the box with a rather painful frown. "Its uncomfy in that box, lad." he remarked. Gromit motioned Flipper to stay in the basement as he went up the basement steps. He locked the door behind him if Flipper decided to ignore him.

"Right then lad." Wallace said as Gromit walked into the dining room. Wallace was sitting in his seat. "I feel like I could try to eat something today, so hopefully you had made supper?" Gromit shrugged as he really hadn't prepared anything because he lost time due to crocheting. "Oh, I suppose supper shall be a bit later then. I can wait lad. Please, do take your time." Gromit knew it was far too late to get prepared on a dish, so he decided to have Wallace call catering. Wallace dialed the number and held the phone up to his head. "Ello! Erm, do you happen to carry anh fish per chance?" The indistinct chatter on the phone ensued and Wallace's smile turned quickly sour. "What do you kean you don't carry fish? You seemed to the last time I called." "Sorry sir. The fish is out due to our supplier being involved with the fish competition. You will have to order something else I'm afraid." Wallace sighed defeatedly. "Okay, I'll have the usual." Alright sir, we will be there in a few minutes." "Ah thanks see you soon. Goodbye." He hung up the receiver and slumped back a little. He tapped his fingers on the table as well. Gromit got up and walked into the living room.

Not even twenty minutes had passed and the doorbell suddenly rang. Gromit had finally finished the vest in that time period and set it aside on the basket. Gromit went to the door to see that Wallace was already there paying for it. "Thank you for the urgency!" he shouted back as he shut the door holding the boxes. "Here lad, this one is yours." he handed Wallace an unmarked box that was rather warm. He opened it to check if it was actually his. It indeed was. It was rather odd in the fashion that Wallace had found out which one was his. Maybe because it was on top? Oh well, I suppose it doesn't matter, Gromit thought to himself. Wallace was sitting at the table opening his box slightly picking the contents in it. He only looked up to see Gromit giving him a cold stare shaking his head in disapproval. Wallace looked down almost immediately and took a bite. "Hmm, doesn't taste the same, lad. That fish diet you got me on is starting to have an effect on me I suppose." he chuckled nervously. He didn't take another bite of the meal but instead got up and walked into the living room. Gromit finished his meal and decided to take Wallace's meal with him too. He threw away his empty carton and opened the door to Flipper right at it and handed him the box. Flipper gave a thumbs up to him as Gromit closed the door once again, locking it behind him.

He joined Wallace in the living room shortly after to notice Wallace inspecting his product. "Wow! Rather spiffy lad. I should wear it to the fish ball the day after tomorrow, hmm?" Gromit nodded as the vest was already finished. It had intricate designs of fish outlines with stars scattered throughout the inside. Each one had galactical themes within while the outside was a dark blue.

"Here, I'll let you hold onto it lad, until it is time for the ball. Well if you want to come along I will let you, but you will need an outfit too. I can buy you some new wool that you pick out and maybe you could make it." Gromit shook his head and showed the collar he was wearing. "Ah! Yes! You could wear the gift Tottington gave to us. Perfect thinking lad!" Wallace said with a smile. "In the meantime, I will make us a cupper, eh?" Wallace walked into the kitchen and began to prepare the hot water. He set down the small pieces of china onto the tray and mixed up a few leaves of tea before putting them into the seeper. The hot water came to a vigorous boil after a few minutes and he immediately took it off of the fire. Wallace added the seeper bag into the water and stirred it a little. After that, he picked up the tray and made the journey back into the living room. He made it to the staircase until the lights had gone out. Gromit looked around in the sudden pitch darkness, searching for Wallace. "I'm by the stairs lad! I'm coming don't worry!" He still got up after Wallace to check on him. "Here lad. Hold that for a moment." Gromit held it as Wallace pulled out a match. The backdoor in the kitchen was slightly open as it creaked open. Wallace was struggling to get the match to light. After a few attempts, it finally lit.

"Ah there we are!" Then something very large was standing behind him. It was solid black and fluffy. Gromit was petrified as this thing was standing behind Wallace. His ears stood up shaking in fear. "What is it lad?" Wallace then felt a drip atop his head, then heard the heavy breathing behind him. Wallace slightly turned his head as he was looking up to this creature. It was drooling and had a very large set of razor sharp teeth. Its eyes were a burning glowing yellow as it stared at Wallace. It then let out a deep snarl baring its teeth even further as it slapped Wallace through the wall into the living room. Wallace's outline on the wall was apparent when Gromit looked into it to check on him. He was on a broken chair and lamp, out cold. The beast in front of Gromit roared, the drool getting on him and the walls. It then tried to swipe at Gromit but he quickly ducked the attack. He ran to the front door and opened it. He had no idea where he was going to run to, but only as far away as possible. The beast tripped Gromit up onto the grass. He landed pretty hard as it took him a moment to recollect the situation he was in. The beast pinned him on the ground and it was preparing for another hit. The creature then howled in pain and then got up. Another beast was sinking its teeth into the back of the pitch monster. The one attacking the beast also had solid yellow glowing eyes as it was tearing at it. The pitch monster finally grabbed a hold of the one on its back and threw it towards Gromit. Gromit flinched, worried that the beast was going to land on him. It went over his head, nearly atop of him. The black beast roared in an unassured victorious way. The other slowly got back up and snarled. Gromit looked at the beast above him. It was exactly as the constable had described, bluish grey, and light grey on the underside. It stood hovering over him as if it was protecting him. It then jumped towards the black beast in an attempt to attack again. The grey creature grabbed the black one's shoulder in its jaws. The dark beast yelped in pain as the grey beast viciously sank its fangs deeper. It threw it off once again, this time, running and jumping over the fences.

The grey beast got back up on its hind legs and howled in victory. It summoned a small pack of kipper wolves as they swarmed around the giant. It then faced Gromit and slowly walked toward him. Gromit was fearful that the beast would attack him too. It got closer to Gromit and sniffed him, almost inspecting him. He held up his arms to his face, slightly shaking in fear. The group of kipper wolves surrounded him, rubbing and nudging against him. The beast then rubbed its scent on Gromit before jumping after the black beast. Did they just scent mark me? Why did that one spare me? Where is Wallace? These thoughts raced through Gromit's head as he got up and went back inside. He ran towards the basement and unlocked it. Flipper was busy fixing the lights downstairs as Gromit was frantically trying to get his attention. "Now, now, just one second-" the lights then went back on with a flicker. "There. I fixed that. Now what is the problem lad?" He picked up Flipper and carried him into the van. "What is happening lad?!" Flipper shouted. Gromit pedalled onto the gas and swerved after the direction of the giant wolves.

"Lad! When was the last time you had a bath? Turn the van around and go back home this instant!" Gromit shook his head and kept going in the direction they were heading. The wolves were nowhere in sight. Gromit became frustrated because he was so close to catching the beasts. "Seriously lad, you need a bath you smell like fish and-" he sniffed him again. "A bit familiar too. I can't put me finger on it-" He rolled down his window and sniffed the night air. "Ah! Familiar faces are coming back to me lad! Turn right!" Gromit turned right, slowly speeding up. A few wolves running away were seen in between the alleyways. Flipper was sticking his head out of the window sniffing the air. "Hard left now!" Gromit turned at the unexpected command hitting the curb. The jump spooked Flipper as he hit his head on the door frame. "Ow! Be careful lad!" he complained as he rubbed his now sore head. "Okay now where was I?" He stuck his head back out of the window, smelling. "Right! Turn right! Then left!" Gromit did as such and slowed down. "Easy lad. I can smell meself." What does that mean? Gromit thought to himself. "Stop-" Flipper whispered. Flipper's fur stood on the sides of his arms as he stared at the grey beast eating a giant fish. "Is that me lad?" Gromit ignored Flipper as he grabbed a net gun. He shut the door quietly, to not alert the beast. He neared it closer and closer then shot the net at the giant creature. Gromit ran to the beast only to see it was a resident out late that he shot a net at.

"What is your problem mutt?! I was tending to my fish!" Gromit became sheepish and removed the net from him. "Where is your modest fool? He is usually never far from you is he?" Gromit shook his head in agreement. "Well? Where is he? He must hear about the horrible damages it had done to my decorative pond and the mess it had left behind." He pointed to the chipped siding of the hand painted pool. The worst of it, perhaps even the most outrageous damages it had done, was the scratches on the outdoor curtains and some uprooted grass. This seemed like it was purposefully done because of how all of the fish were missing and not a single one was spared. Gromit motioned the resident back inside since it was not safe to be outside with the giant werewolves. "Fine! I'll have to tell him in the morning huh?" the resident said as he went back inside.

Flipper and Gromit tried to track down the werewolves but with no success. "Are you one hundered percent sure you saw a pair of werewolves lad?" Gromit gave a singular, dead certain nod. "Okay then, but I find it quite odd that I could smell meself from miles away." Gromit decided to give up since he had been attacked by a giant werewolf and had an odd meetup with the other. When they got back home, Flipper slept on the couch with a slice of cheese while Gromit tried to clean up the mess that was made. He had an instinct that Wallace might've been upstairs, but when he looked in his room, nothing was in the bed. Wallace had to be around somewhere. Gromit went into the dining room and looked. Nothing there either. The front door then opened with a slam. Gromit peered in to see the grey beast walk in on its hind legs. It was grunted a little because it hit its head on the ceiling. Gromit jerked back to not be spotted by it. It growled a little then it sounded like it went up the stairs on all fours. At the time, it was nearly sunrise so it meant that the night was practically over. Gromit followed the giant wolf upstairs to see that it had left some wet paw prints, which slowly became more human. They eventually led to Wallace's room which the door was wide open. He was sound asleep in bed, surrounded by heads and tails of gigantic fish. Gromit had finally found out the first werewolf, Wallace.
