Chapter 22
Oliver POV April
I threw down the Batman I was playing with and stomped to my door yanking it opened. Meeting Seth's wide eyes. "I don't wanna play, Seth" he sighed and held his head down. I feel bad but I didn't want to play. I wanted my mom and dad. But of course they are never home anymore. Mommy works almost as much as daddy does now. She lets me go to the bakery sometimes but I also "act up" or so mama says. I just get so excited to be there and spend time with Mama and Felix.
Felix was super cool! And he was huge! Bigger then my daddy or my uncle Emmy. He always had the funniest jokes too. Jane and Alec were okay. They were kinda weirdos though. Mama said they were nice and we should treat them, how we would want to be treated. I would want them to treat me nicely so that's what I do.
I wish I was with mama now. I missed her and my tummy felt weird. Maybe it was from treat Seth badly. I don't mean too. I just don't want to hang out with him and Emily, I don't understand why he has to date and kiss Emily it's gross. Doesn't he know that's how you get cooties. Ewwww.
"Well buddy, we will be downstairs if you want to come join us" I nodded and slowly closed the door back. I would go down later, but for now. I want to play by myself.

I played for a while till I grew bored and knew there was nothing else to do in my room. I had to go downstairs. Plus I was getting hungry. I put the toys back into the right bins and opened my door peeking through, making sure no one was heading this way.
With my ninja skills I make is downstairs without being seen. I tip toed to the kitchen and opened the fridge. Mama always keeps snacks I like right where, I can reach them. I grab a pizza lunchable and a apple juice. I sit everything on a bar stool and climb into the one next to it. I grabbed my food and set it out on the counter. Man if mama could see how grown up I was being! I wouldn't need Seth to watch me! "Well, look who decided to come out and eat" I jumped turning around to face Seth and Emily.
"Leave me alone, Seth" he laughed and put his hand in my hair making it look all crazy. "I'm just messing with ya, little dude" I decided to just imagine they were not here and tucked into my lunch. I was starving! Mama always gives me lunch by now. "Do you want something, a little more filling?" I shook my head. "No, thanks. I'm good" he nodded, walking to the fridge no pulling out two cokes. He opened one and handed it to Emily and took the other for himself.
"Well it's not to late yet. Maybe we could go play a around of basketball, down at the park?" I nodded jumping out of my seat. "Really! That would be awesome, uncle Seth" he laughed. "Come then let's go"

Edward POV
"Mr Cullen, she's awake" my head shot up, my eyes scanning over the doctor. "Is she okay" he nodded gesturing for me to follow him. "She came out of surgery quite well. We were able to get the bleeding under control with no long term effects to her brain. Both of her cheeks are badly damaged. Her right cheek was fully out of place and the bone was broke in three different places" Oh my poor, Bella. How I wish it was me that was in that bed and not her. Never her. "So, she's awake"
"She woke up for a moment and was in a lot of pain. We had to sedate her so, she would keep from going into a panic attack. She could have done more damage to her body if we didn't" "Will she be okay?" He patted my shoulder and smiled. "Yes, Edward she should make a full recovery. Would you like to see her?" I nodded. There was nothing more I wanted at that moment.
He brought me down to the ICU and into a recovery room. "Now she looks in bad shape. But remember she is doing very well" I nodded, holding my breath I walked into the room. Keeping my eyes glued to my shoes. The smell of hospital filled my nose. That sickly clean smell, that never leaves your mind. I looked up, moving my eyes to the beeping Machines. Her heart rate was good. So was her oxygen. I moved my eyes to her sweet face. Both of her eyes were black and blue same with the rest of her face. There was a big chuck of her beautiful long brown shaved off.
Tears filled my eyes and I fell into the chair beside her. "Oh my baby. I'm so sorry" I grasped onto her cold hand, laying a kiss to her palm. "You have to open those eyes and let me know you are okay" her heart rate had spiked and the corner of her lips turned up. "She must know you are here" said the small nurse. She was putting more meds into Bella's IV. Taking a look over her chart. "You think so?" she nodded, pointing out her raise heart beat.

By late evening, Bella still had not woken up or even moved. I knew she was okay, but I needed some kind of visual to see she was alive and going to be fine.
I had called Ollie and told him that mommy got hurt and we had to stay at the hospital for a little while. He wanted to come down here of course. This was his mother and she was hurt. I told him that right now she was just sleeping and needed him to stay with his Papa and grandma Sue for a bit. He was happy about it but finally let go and said he would stay with them.
My parents had come by to see how everything was. They had brought her some beautiful flowers. It really lit up her room some.
I had been reading a book Bella had in her bag when I saw her head move from the corner of my eye. "Bella" I sit the book aside, reaching for her hand. She squeezed it. "Edward" I kissed her hand. "Bella! I'm right here" her eyes opened slightly then shut tight. "Can you dim the lights please" I asked the nurse who had just come in to check on Bella. "Come on baby. Open those big brown eyes"
Bella POV
Beep...Beep...Beep
Why is Edward letting the alarm go? He's gonna wake up the baby. My hand reached out for the bassinet next to my bed. But I could open my eyes. I squeezed the bassinet trying to find the will to fully wake up. "Edward" my body felt so heavy. I could hear my baby crying but I couldn't get to her. "Bella" yes! I'm here. I want to open my eyes. She needs me. Where is Edward. Where's Oliver. I want to open my eyes damn it. "Bella! I'm right here" my eyelids began to open but shut quickly from the harsh light. "Someone, dim the light, it is bothering her" I tried to smile at the sounds of his voice. "Water" my mouth felt like I had swallowed rocks, not to mention my head. Edward held a straw up to my lips. "Here baby." I gave him a small smile, taking big gulps of water. "Thanks" "No problem" Edward helped me lay back. "What happened" he grabbed my hand, kissing my knuckles. "James happened" a gasped slipped my mouth as the memories started flooding my mind. "Where is he?" I could feel my heart start pounding. What if I had taken Ollie with him! Ollie! "Where is Oliver?" I tried to sit up but Edward gently pushed me back down. "Calm down, baby. Oliver is with Charlie. They got James. He's in jail" I breath a sigh of relief, letting the tears run down my cheeks.
"Don't cry baby. He can never touch you again. I will make sure he is locked away forever" I patted his cheek, fighting with my eyes to stay open. "How bad is the damage?" I listed to my long list of injuries just fine but it was when they gave a mirror that a small sob came out of my mouth. "Oh my goodness. We can not let Oliver, see me like this" Edward kissed me. I felt my body relax into the hospital bed. "Shhh Bella. Everything is okay. These bruises will heal love. And don't worry about Ollie yet" he walked over turning the rest of the light off. "Sleep baby. Your body needs rest" I nodded. "Lay with me?" He sighed but toed off his shoes and got into bed next to me. "Much better" I held onto his shirt and let sleep take me.
Sorry for the short chapter, again! My life has been nothing but craziness!! I will get back to my long chapters again, I just know it.
