She didn't know what to expect.

Disclaimer: I own neither Harry Potter nor Remus Lupin and his friends: JK Rowling does.

Author notes: Just an idea I had while brushing my hair. I am thinking into making it the first chapter of a story. The second chapter is still in writing. Enlish is still not my native language so if you see something tell me! ;)

It features Lily Evans at eighteen who is asking herself existantial questions.

She didn't know what to expect from a world that was falling apart. When each year was different from the precedent. When each day came sadder. When each minute announced itself as darker than the other. When each second could change the world.

She didn't know what to expect because she didn't know what life could bring next.

She hadn't expected it to bring hurt. She hadn't expected it to bring death. She hadn't expected it to bring such heart-breaking choices. She hadn't expected it to bring sadness. Well, she had. She just thought it would come later.

She hadn't expected it to bring friends. Not just acquaintances. Real friends to whom you could tell everything, with whom you had lived everything: the best and the worst. She hadn't expected it to bring such loyalty. She hadn't expected it to bring love.

She was eighteen, and she didn't know what to expect.

In a world falling apart, when a war was rising and her life constructing; red hair, green eyes, witch in a muggle family, muggle-born in a wizard world, loved and hated, Lily Evans tried to understand how her life would be like.
