chapter 16

(TW: wakasa has a mental illness)

1.

Wakasa Imaushi, known as the White Leopard on the battleground, and known as one of the children of the wealthiest families in Japan. Nobody actually knew that he was that son, who escaped his home and abandoned the future prepared for him.

Future prepared for him? For his own good? Wakasa would beat up anyone who thinks the same as his father.

No one knows his name, for his father never introduced him or even showed his face to the public. He was trapped in the mansion's walls, sick of seeing fancy chandeliers and tall pillars around his small body. He wanted to run away, and he did at the age of fifteen.

He escaped without a trace. And using the allowance money he's been saving for years, he bought himself an apartment, then moved in with Shinichiro when the ravenette opened his motorbike shop two years later. But, he knows that Shinichiro believed that they only had a platonic relationship, while Wakasa thought of this as a start and an opening for a romantic relationship. He didn't convey anything, though.

Years of hiding, and his father didn't look for him. He knows that he doesn't care to look for him.

He still carried remorse, presuming about what would transpire to his younger sister, Sana. She was just 5 when he left, so he knows she would probably not remember her when she grows up. But that child was close to him, and he cared for his only sister. And Senju reminded him of her a lot. A child with champagne locks (that's a lighter shade of blonde) and amethyst purple orbs, a complete replica of his older brother. She was a cheerful child, a girl who always had a smile radiating up her features. Wakasa desired she never grew up in the same toxic surrounding as he did. After a few years, at the age of twenty-five, he saw Sana again, but as Senju's girlfriend. He's glad she's in the hands of someone he trusts. He also observed how her hairstyle reminded him of his hairstyle in his youth.

In the first timeline, or almost all timelines, Shinichiro's death devastated him and it led him to misery. After his death, he still stayed in their shared apartment, even hearing his faint voice by the halls. Wakasa even started to hallucinate over the years. The only ones who kept him in check were Benkei, Senju, and Takeomi. His sister as well died in all timelines, but was alive when Takemichi saved Shinichiro. Must be a chain, perhaps.

He already consulted a psychiatrist, and he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia, a serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. This illness showed symptoms of hallucinating. He didn't inform anyone about it.

Now that Shinichiro's alive, his illness started to fade away, or as he thought. He still has appointments and only his lover and Takemichi knows about that.

And it's because of what happened on the 14th of August. And two months after that. Though he would like to reside that in the back of his mind, forget about it, and think that Benkei isn't dead and just in a two-year coma, he still can't. It's what caused Shinichiro to go animalistic and lose his cool, and his lover became a wall he can't break. There were times when Wakasa can't even approach him like he was a complete stranger to him. There were times when Shinichiro felt distant towards Wakasa, and it made him think if he still loves him or not. Was he just there to keep him in check? Or was he there for something else? He couldn't point a finger at anything, but he still has hope that Shinichiro loves him.

And then, Shinichiro said, with a confused and panicked face, that he just woke up and he's now a criminal. He remembers him waking up beside him, then panicking at 3 am in the morning, wondering what was going on. Wakasa woke up to his screaming and he couldn't understand why the unbreakable and emotionless Shinichiro panicked when he woke up in his own room.

Then, Mikey informed them that Takemichi was back. So, the old Shinichiro, the one in 2003, woke up in 2017, in a dark room, sleeping beside Wakasa, and a criminal. Wakasa sighed in his mind, delighted that the Shinichiro he fell in love with was back.

And he messed up. He told the biggest secret both he and Takeomi was trying to hide.

Shinichiro was sucked up by darkness once again.

"Wakasa-san," Takemichi went back from the kitchen, kneeling down in front of him and giving him a can of soda. Wakasa muttered thanks and took it. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you went through all of that."

"It's alright, Takemichi-kun," Wakasa looked at him and smiled. "I'm glad you listened to me."

The ravenette with blue orbs gave the smile back. Wakasa always went to Takemichi to rant, because he feels comfortable being around him. More comfortable than being with Shinichiro. His boyfriend didn't listen to him sometimes, but when he came back from the past, he listened to every word he said and acted like the past Shinichiro. And now the Feral Dragon was back, he couldn't come close to him anymore without saying anything important. It might look like a toxic relationship, but the lilac-orbed male loved the man so much that he'll stay with him even in purgatory.

"I'm always here for you, alright?" Takemichi patted Wakasa's head, earning a sweet hum from him. "I'm here to listen and help you."

"This is why I trust you, Takemichi-kun. Thank you."

"How about let's visit Sana-chan and see if she's alright."

"Sure."

2.

"Where is Wakasa?" Shinichiro opened the door to Takeomi's office, in which the occupant of the room was by the couch, watching the news. The man with the scar on his eye glanced at him, before taking a puff off his cigarette and averting his attention back at the screen.

"He's with Takemichi-kun again," he answered. "Probably to rant about how shitty of a boyfriend you are."

That made Shinichiro's heart drop to his stomach.

"W-what?"

Takeomi sighed, then looked at his friend, "You're his boyfriend and yet he never goes to you when he feels he wants to rant. He's going to Takemichi instead."

"W-why?"

"Idiot," Takeomi chuckled mockingly. "He's not comfortable with you anymore. Be glad, though. He still loves you like hell."

Shinichiro stayed silent as he stood by Takeomi's door. The older one stood up, going towards the ravenette.

"I suggest you apologize."

Shinichiro didn't answer as he looked at the ground.

3.

"Oh, Waka-nii!" Sana greeted, opening the entrance door for them. Wakasa gave his younger sister a small smile while Takemichi waved at her with a wide grin. "Takemichi-san!"

"We came for lunch," Wakasa said, passing through the door and stopping by the genkan, taking off his slip-on shoes and walking towards the kitchen. "Sorry for the intrusion. Senju-chan!"

"Waka-nii!" Senju peaked through the open door of the kitchen, as she wore a coffee-coloured apron and her silver locks tied up in a bun. "Perfect timing, I just finished preparing lunch!"

"Is there enough for us, Senju-chan?" Takemichi said, bowing towards Sana and taking off his white sneakers. He went behind Wakasa, who was walking towards the kitchen and dining room. Sana closed the door and followed them. "It was quite a surprise visit."

"Oh, it's alright," Senju said, asking them to sit. Sana sat down near the kitchen, her seat by the right. Senju placed down the meals by the table, as Wakasa and Takemichi sat parallel to the married couple. The older female sat down beside her wife, untying her apron and draping it over the backrest of the chair. "I always prepare extra."

"Thank you for the meal!"

...

"So, how are you and Shin-nii?" Sana asked, taking her tonkatsu.

"Well," Takemichi laughed nervously. "I think they had a feud."

Wakasa growled, stabbing one cut of the pork and stuffing it in his mouth.

Senju giggled, "Looks like it."

"You should stay for a while," Sana suggested. "We haven't seen you in two months."

"We would love to!" Takemichi beamed.

They continued the rest of the day chatting and eating. They also watched a movie after dinner.

"Wakasa..."

"What now, Shinichiro?"

"Can we...talk?"

Wakasa stayed silent, as he gently held his phone to his right ear.

"I don't feel like talking right now, Shin-chan. Bye."

The bi-coloured locks hung up the phone.

chapter 16! I wrote the first part yesterday but I was lazy and tired so I continued it today ^^ and wakasa backstory that I completely made up and I was inspired by this story on ao3 about that, I forgot the title but I think it's the first story that pops up, with past shinichiro/akane. i love that story and how oblivious shin is about waka pining on him.

now, I read chapter 241 of tokyo revengers and I think mikey needs to go to a therapist...NOW.

i also may have caused confusion about sana being dead then alive so now, she's alive.
