PREVIOUSLY...
The hedgehogs were getting closer and closer to the portal as Robotnik pulled the trigger.
The laser shot was about to hit the hedgehogs until...
Whilst Mani and Sonia safely made the landing from the explosion forcing them through the portal, Sonic landed on the road, getting knocked out cold as the ring bag slid across the ground and over to the sidewalk. Then, just as Tom and Maddie arrived and people began running, Robotnik's cackle echoed as his ship went through the portal and shortly after the portal closed.
"You three are some astonishing little creatures." Robotnik comments as his cockpit opened and he rose his goggles. "It'll be fun to take you back to the lab for a litany of invasive exploratory procedures."
Tom noticed he was standing right next to the ring back and picked it up,
"Any last words?" Robotnik added, but when not getting much of a response from any of the hedgehogs, he lowered his goggles again, not noticing Tom jumping through a ring portal onto the back of the ship. "I don't have to tell you ha=ow many scientific breakthroughs have been made possible by animal testing."
When Manic and Sonia noticed Tom on the back of Robotnik's ship via him jumping through the ring portal, they went wide ey3ed, but he quietly signaled them to stay quiet as Robotnik flicked a couple switches and pushed some buttons.
"You're being very selfish." Robotnik added
"Going my way?" Tom asks, reaching Robotnik
Robotnik spun around practically and started saying, "WHAT THE-"
Robotnik and Tom began full on duking it out in the cockpit of the ship.
"Yeah, get him, Doughnut Lord!" Manic cheered
During the fight, Robotnik grabbed Tom by the jacket collar and questioned, "Who the HELL do you think you are?!"
After some more punches were thrown, Tom had Robotnik over the edge.
"I'm the Doughnut Lord, you son of a bitch!" Tom responds, full on earning the Doughnut Lord nickname and not giving a damn about it as long as he was keeping other living things safe from people like the man he's fighting
Robotnik elbowed Tom right in the gut, forcing him over the side of the ship.
"Auto-pilot adjust!" Robotnik says, fixing his goggles as Maddie ran over to Tom. "Why? Why would you throw your life away for these...THINGS?!"
Manic and Sonia didn't take that comment lightly but stayed back to prevent things from getting worse, but at least went over to Tom and Maddie.
"That's why I don't have friends. Next thing you know, you're somebody's best man, they wanna have the wedding out of town, like nobody has ANYTHING BETTER TO DO!" Robotnik comments. "Anyways, where were we? Oh yes, you were about to die."
Suddenly, a bullet ricocheted of the side of the ship, causing everyone awake to see Wade standing there with his pistol, armed and ready. And he had a whole army of citizens with various things to double as weapons, practically the whole town and it's law enforcement ready to fight if need be. Even Crazy Carl.
"That's our sheriff you're messing with." Wade comments
Maddie looked back and saw Sonic was still on the ground. Still out cold.
"You guys..." Maddie comments, tapping Tom and the two still awake hedgehog siublings
When they all looked back, Manic went over to try to wake his brother up, not really doing the best job of it.
"I don't mean to be indelicate here, should get some ice...keep the body fresh." Robotnik comments
Tom looked down.
"Him and his siblings are just some silly little aliens." Robotnik comments. "THEY DIDN'T BELONG HERE!"
"These little aliens...knew more about being human than you ever will." Tom comments, getting up. "Their names were Sonic, Sonia, and Manic...this was their home."
Manic kept trying to wake Sonic up, noticing his medallion gleaming a little when there was seemingly no light source in the area.
"And they were my friends." Tom adds
Suddenly, Sonic's eyes burst open, glowing with bright blue electricity and Manic jumped back as Sonia, Tom, and Maddie looked back at him as a whole onslaught of blue electricity was hitting him directly as he stood up..
Manic stepped back as to not get shocked and Sonic glared down the center path of the road straight at Robotnik. Pissed the hell off.
When realizing who Sonic was glaring at, Tom says, "He's all yours."
Everyone got out of the way and danger zone as Tom shouts, "Everyone get back!"
Sonic continued glaring at Robotnik.
"I think you have something that belongs to me." Sonic sternly comments, holding out a fist and drawing energy from his quill in Robotnik's ship. "This is MY power. And i'm not using it to run away anymore. I'm using it to keep friends and family safe from people like you!"
Robotnik lowered his goggles and closed the cockpit and armed the ship's weapons and Sonic just stood there, getting ready to dash at the ship in front of him. Everyone proceeds to watch as Sonic dashes at Robotnik's ship, bouncing off of walls and light poles, hitting the ship and dodging missiles and rubble.
He bounced off and damaged the ship nearly 51 to 53 total times, causing a damage alarm to go off in Robotnik's ship.
"Oh, NOW you've done it!" Robotnik snarled
"Guess what, Eggman?! My siblings and I are not leaving Earth, YOU ARE!" Sonic comments as he slid back and looked at Tom. "Doughnut Lord?!"
Tom nodded, knowing what he had to do, running down the sidewalks he pulled out a ring. Taking a quick deep breath, he chucked it right behind Robotnik's ship, opening a portal to the mushroom planet Sonic and his siblings were meant to escape to, Robotnik boosting at Sonic as Manic stepped out onto the street after Sonic sprints at Robotnik.
As Sonic hit Robotnik's ship, cutting off the side engines and destroying it's force-field, Manic used his medallion and summoned his drum set, hitting it hard enough with the drumsticks to cause a shockwave that once Sonic jumped out of the way, it hit Robotnik's ship, sending it FLYING THROUGH THE PORTAL.
As Robotnik's ship was sent flying, he could be heard screaming and the farther he went, the more quiet he got. Eventually, the ring closed. After it closed, Manic returned his drum set back to a medallion and Sonic stood on the ground, the electricity dissipating as Tom ran over and the crowd cheered.
"Told you you got this." Tom comments
"Nonono, WE got this." Sonic comments
Tom gave each of them a high five, Sonic seeming the most ecstatic about it, even smiling a little.
Tom held out the ring bag and says, "Think these belong to you."
"Thank you very much." Sonic says, holding his hand out
"No more pushing people off of buildings." Tom says
Sonic chuckled a little and rolled his eyes, saying, "You know I can't promise that."
Sonia rolled her eyes as Tom chucked Sonic back the ring bag.
"Did pretty good, space-hogs." Tom comments
"Couldn't have done any of this without you, Doughnut Lord." Sonia comments
Maddie walked over and asks, "So, are you gonna explain this Doughnut Lord thing?"
"No, sorry, that's for me and the little three here." Tom responds. "To be honest, I don't know if I wanna go back to San Francisco for anything other than getting what's left of my truck back cause it kinda feels like we're home right now."
"Really?" Maddie comments getting a nod from Tom
"I feel like I checked the 'Save a life' box off my bucket list." Tom says. "Now all I wanna do is spend the rest of my life with the people I care about. Wanna make sure I check that box."
Tom and Maddie hugged, Tom patting Maddie's back.
Wade turned to the crowd and said, "Alright, everyone, time to disperse. Just another ordinary day in Green Hills. Carl, don't forget your chainsaw"
Tom and Maddie then headed back for their home, ready to sleep for the night and Sonic, Sonia, and Manic following so they could safely store his ring bag somewhere with people they could trust.
"Come on, let's go! You act like you've never seen a fight between a group of intergalactic space rodents and a robot with a doctorate." Wade added as the crowd finally started dispersing
