The Bistro, Metropolis

10:00 at night

Sean Rodriguez was busy looking through the menu at the diner he was at. The handsome, disabled, raven-haired man downed his drink and sighed. He then opened up his phone and checked the time. 10:00 PM. Kara is late. Again.

One of the waitresses walked over to him and smiled. "Is everything alright sir?" Sean rubbed at his temples. "Yeah I'm fine. My date is just running late."

The waitress gave him a nod. "Not a problem. The Bistro has a 30-minute wait policy."

Sean gave her a nod. "Thank you for understanding."

Scene Change

Somewhere in the Justice League Watchtower

Kara was impatiently tapping her foot. Hurry up. I'm late for my date.

Batman was giving out the mission assignments for all the teams tomorrow. "And Supergirl?"

Kara turned to the Dark Knight and forced a smile. "Yes Batman?"

Batman then gave her a nod. "You will be partnering up with Black Canary tomorrow. There are reports of suspicious activity in Upper Metropolis. You both are going in to investigate."

Kara gave him a nod. "Got it. Is there anything else?"

Bruce shook his head. "Nope you are free to go."

Kara let out a sigh of relief. "Finally." She then began to walk off until Superman stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. "Wait Kara!" Kara-Zor El let out an annoyed sigh. "What is it Kal? I'm late for my date."

Kal-El smiled at her. "I just wanted to say I'm proud of you. You really have grown into your own hero."

Kara-Zor El smiled at him and caressed his face with a hand. "Thanks Kal."

Blowtorch then approached the two of them. The raven haired-woman then pulled down her hair and smiled warmly at Kara. The Kryptonian could see the dark markings underneath the woman's eyes. "I can teleport you there Kara. It'll be a lot faster."

Kara Kent smiled at the wizard. "Thanks. I appreciate it."

Clark then gave his cousin one last glance and smirked. "Hey Kara?"

Kara turned to him and smiled. "Yes Kal."

Superman grinned mischievously at her. "Just take that boyfriend of yours on a..little flight if he is upset at you. "

Kara Zor-El gasped. "Kal! You can't be serious! That would scare him half to death!"

Kal-El grinned at her. "Hey it has always worked on Lois!"

Blowtorch then covered the woman with her long black cape. The woman's green eyes then glowed white and she and Kara both disappeared in a puff of smoke.

The Bistro, Upper Metropolis

A moment later

Sean was resting his chin on his hand. What could possibly be taking her so long? He then began hearing a lot of commotion around him. The man then realized that a certain blonde was approaching his table. She had her hair in a bob cut that was unmistakenly familiar all of a sudden. The woman was dressed in a stylish and strapping black dress that hugged her curves. She also had on a pair of black heels. The woman was slyly smirking at him as she was walking towards him. She then took the seat across from him and spoke in a flirtatious tone. "Excuse me handsome. Is this seat taken?"

Sean just sighed in relief. She made it. Barely…but she made it. "Not at all."

Kara then sighed in relief when she saw the look on her boyfriend's face. He doesn't seem too upset about me being late. I'm really lucky that he and I have come to an understanding of what I do for a living. There aren't many people who can deal with the difficulty of dating a superheroine. She then smiled apologetically and took a hand in his. "I'm sorry for being so late. Batman was giving us mission briefings for tomorrow. I tried to get out of it but you know how it is."

Sean sighed and shook his head. "You are so lucky you are cute you know that? If it were anyone else.."

Kara smirked and let out a small giggle. "I know. You really are too good to me. You have no idea how much I appreciate you."

The waitress then came upon their table again.

She turned to Kara with a disappointed look in her eyes. So his date finally showed. Pity. I had my number written out and everything. She then smiled at Kara. "Ah you must be the date. You really kept him waiting y'know."

Kara chuckled nervously. "I had to work late."

The waitress then shrugged. "Happens to all of us." She then got out her notepad. "May I take your order?"

Moments later

Kara and Sean finally got their orders after waiting a good while.

Sean had ordered a large bowl of pozole along with a plate of flour tortillas.

Kara had ordered some barbacoa plate with beans and rice. Kara scooped up a bit of beans on her spoon and took a bite. "Ah. I never tire of the many delicious textures of Earth food. You people really have it all."

Sean then chuckled. "Yeah I'm honestly glad I found this place. I've enjoyed living in Metropolis but I do miss home sometimes."

Kara nodded. "Home as in..Texas right? I'm sorry. I can relate."

Sean nodded. "Yeah." He then cleared his throat, desperate to change the subject. "So..how are things on the superhero front? I haven't heard much from the Daily Planet."

Kara smiled at him eagerly. She remembered how surprised she was when he started inquiring about her work. It always brought her great joy to discuss her line of work. "Well Hal over with the Lanterns fighting the Red Lantern Corps on the planet of Ferosios. Kal-El is over at the Fortress taking the day off. Apparently he and Lois are going on a vacation to the Bahamas.

Sean swallowed down the bit of pozole. "Wait. Superman..going on a vacation? Superheroes do that?"

Kara then burst out laughing. "Of course we do silly. We need days off just like everyone else. Despite all our wonderful abilities…we are just as human as you all are."

Sean just nodded. "Yeah that makes sense. I support it. I don't suppose Batman does though. That guy seems awfully obsessed with the whole fighting crime thing."

Kara nodded in agreement. "Yeah..Batman is a special case. He is diligent to a fault. He is out there every night. It is kind of sad. I've tried to get him to take some time off but every time I try..he always goes on about how crime never sleeps." She then awkwardly sighed. "I feel bad for him a bit."

Sean sighed. "He sure is…dedicated."

Kara nodded and squeezed his hand a bit tighter. "Enough about me. What about you though? How's the classroom?"

Sean let out a chuckle. "Ah. The usual. Paperwork to fill out. Students to chase down. Fire drills to perform. Grades to fill out. Never gets old."

Kara nodded. "I bet. You really are brave you know. I've been hearing some things. They say more teachers are quitting due to the pressure."

Sean just nodded. "Yeah there is currently a shortfall going on. You don't even have to be certified anymore. You just can't have a criminal record."

Kara gave him a nod. "I guess being a superhero and being a teacher aren't as different as I thought."

Sean laughed. "Well there are a few differences between what you and I do."

Kara glanced at him curiously. "How so?"

Sean then let out a loud yawn. "I don't have the ability to outrace traffic on foot nor do I have the ability to grade a thousand papers in three minutes."

Kara then burst out laughing at the witty and sarcastic joke.

Sean's wit was one of the things that had attracted the young Kryptonian to him. He always had a sense of humor even when everything was going to hell.

"Oh, Sean. You always know how to make me laugh at the best of times." She then laid her head on his shoulder and sighed. "I always wondered how Kal-El could be in such great spirits despite everything he has had to face in order to defend the Earth."

Sean raised an eyebrow. "And? What's your conclusion?"

The Kryptonian then smirked at him. "He has Lois to bring him down to Earth every once in a while."

Sean glanced at her confused. "So what are you saying Kara? Are you saying I'm your Lois or something."

Kara just chuckled and kissed him on the lips "Yup. That is exactly what I'm saying." She then pulled out enough money to cover the dinner and put it on the table. "Don't worry about it. I'll cover for tonight."

Sean gasped at how much she put down. "Just how much do you get paid?"

Kara Zor-El giggled and put a finger to his lips. "That my sweet human is a Kryptonian secret." She then placed a hand over his knee and smiled at him seductively."Why don't you...come by my place tonight. I..would like to make it up to you for being so..late."

Sean sighed with an apologetic look on his face. "I wish I could Kara but I still have papers to grade."

Kara pouted at him. "Oh come on. We barely get to see each other as it is." An idea then came to her mind. "Wait. Do you have the papers with you?"

Sean shrugged. "I..do. They are in my walker pouch. Why do you ask?"

The Kryptonian then smirked at him. "Do you have answer sheets?"

Sean nodded again. "I..do."

Kara then got a devious look in her eyes. She then leaned in and began lightly kissing his neck and seductively whispered. "What if I were to grade them for you? I could get it done in say five minutes."

Sean was usually calm and collected around the superheroine. He was used to her bantering and joking around with him about many things in their lives. There wasn't much the Kryptonian could do to possibly rattle his cage. However, her sudden move on him totally caught him off guard. "What..do I have to do in return?"

The woman then cheekily grinned and moved her hand over his knee. "I..can think of a few things. We have a deal?"

Sean felt himself shudder a bit. "I..could be persuaded."

Kara just giggled. "Wow. I didn't think that would work. Selina really was right. No matter the species..Males are so easy to persuade if you know their sweet spots."

Sean blushed. "You've been taking seduction lessons from Catwoman?"

Kara just walked off chuckling to herself.

Sean quickly grabbed his things, got his walker and followed her.

The Kryptonian then picked in the man's walker with the other hand. "Let's get this home first. I wouldn't want all your graded papers to fall out. She then ran over to his house and back.

Kara then picked him up in her arms bridal style. She then looked back at him with a knowing smile. "How would you like to learn how to fly?"

Sean smiled at her with a bit of unease in his eyes. "You promise not to drop me?"

Kara giggled and patted his cheek affectionately. "Aww afraid of heights are we? Don't worry. I wouldn't dream of ruining that handsome face of yours. Just make sure to hold on tight okay?" She then took off with just enough speed to put him at ease.

Sean looked around with a surprised look on his face. I'm flying. I can't believe this. This is amazing."

Kara giggled. Kal. Thank you for the advice. I owe you one. She turned back to him and smiled. "Hold on. We are going up a bit.' She then flew up a bit further.

Sean looked around at her. "Why are we stopping?"

Kara smiled at him. "We stopped so I can do this." She then moved in close and kissed him.

He was taken completely by surprise.

Kara then pulled away. She then glanced at him with a nervous smile on her face and brushed a hair behind her ear. "My cousin invented that move. I just wanted to try it myself."

Sean just chuckled a bit while blushing. "Well if you were trying to sweep a man off his feet...I would say mission accomplished."

Kara smirked. "Good. You really have made it all worth it you know. I mean. I have my cousin and all my friends in the League but you make every night worth it. Thank you for everything. I may save the world but you have saved me more times than you realize."

Sean chuckled. "Wow praise from Supergirl herself. Consider me blushing."

Kara's Apartment, Upper Metropolis, Metropolis.

Kara finally landed them in front of the small apartment she was renting for herself. She looked down at him and smiled. "You enjoy our little adventure?"

Sean nodded. "I did. You are beautiful and awe-inspiring in more ways than one Kara. I am in awe of you."

Kara just chuckled and shook her head grinning. "Oh you flatterer! You are probably just saying that to get into bed with me."

Sean then smirked. "Well I can't deny that isn't on my mind. I mean seriously look at you. Do you have any idea how many admirers you have..especially in the male variety?"

Kara just nodded. "I do but there's only one man who owns both my body and my heart and that is the man I'm holding in my arms right now." She then kissed him. She then reached a bit lower and bit his neck just enough to elicit a moan.

Sean shuddered. "Kara…please don't tease me. I hate it when you do that."

Kara grinned widely at her boyfriend. "No can do. You forget…" She then leaned in and whispered teasingly. "I..love teasing you,"
