Reference: The events of chapters 4-7 will be occurring almost simultaneously. Hinata's events for the evening will be trailing a few hours behind Sasuke's until they next meet. Please remember because I won't be saying later that night or earlier etc.

Chapter Five: Pangs Of Fear

Sasuke arrives at Sakura's for another lustful evening. Sakura was a bit surprised, he started to see her infrequently since their first three nights together, sometimes canceling on her altogether and whenever he did come over he was always a bit irritable.

"I'm so happy you came Sasu," She says gleefully as he enters.

"I told you, don't call me that." He says as he stares Sakura down heatedly, "Are you ready or not?" He adds as he takes off his shirt and unzips his pants revealing his already painfully erected dick.

Sakura lurches her mouth onto Sasuke's cock as she prepares him for their intimate session. He was already stimulated so he grabs her and moves her onto the couch, he didn't want to waste much time here. He begins to slide inside Sakura and as soon as his tip enters she asks.

However, Sasuke sits there with his eyes closed, upset that again he couldn't get relieved as the lust faded with his erection. Sakura grew to be increasingly annoying after their first few nights. She was just not his type, and although he made it clear that he was only interested in sex she still made a fuss whenever he refused to come over or left early to stay in a hotel or go home.

His mind begins to wander back to thoughts of Hinata and he starts tuning out Sakura's babbling in his ear. He's been thinking of her constantly lately, especially since last week when he pushed her on the couch, for some reason it really stung that he was so aggressive with her. He was starting to feel uneasy as his efforts to make her confess seemed futile she was getting more depressed and he just got angrier the more she kept her secret. He begins to feel like he was wasting his time with Sakura when he could have already made up with his wife.

The kiss with Kiba was slowly vanishing from his mind as the weeks passed. All he could think of was how much he missed her voice, the loving way she used to look at him, the laughs they often shared, and he especially missed their lovemaking, he missed Hinata's tiny cunt that he had often stretched to its limits and filled to the brim with his sperm.

Sasuke slows his breathing and inhales loudly then looks over to Sakura still jabbering away "You really can't shut up can you?" He asks harshly.

He gets up from the couch and starts looking for his clothes.

"You're going early again? It's not even 8 PM yet, please stay I'm sorry" She says while reaching for him knowing that she can't change his mind.

He looks at her lethargically while he puts on his clothes and then without a word heads out the door, much to the discontent of Sakura. He drives away running his hands through his hair thinking about how ready he was to concede to Hinata's perceived stubbornness. It's been a month and she didn't break once and he's getting tired of waiting for her to spill her guts.

He doesn't plan to say much, he just needs to hold her tonight silently for a bit he missed the touch of her skin against his. Then it dawned on him, one night holding her wouldn't be enough he knows she would want more and he isn't yet prepared to go that far.

Sasuke sighs as he thinks of the added emotional distress that would put on Hinata to hold her without the intention of reconciling. The repentant feeling that kept creeping up on him these two weeks was now imprinting itself onto his face.

He still needs to talk to her properly for them to move on but he doesn't have the slightest clue what to say to her or what he would be willing to listen to. He thinks to confront her again tonight but needs some proper advice to handle the mess they were in.

Sasuke spins the car and heads straight to the person whose advice would be the most beneficial, his father figure Kakashi Hatake.

Kakashi talks with Sasuke man to man and expresses his disappointment in the way he went about the picture. Sasuke was deliberately avoiding Kakashi because he knew he would be scolded so he wasn't surprised.

"Why would Kiba feel comfortable enough to kiss her though?" Sasuke rebuts a statement Kakashi had made praising Hinata.

"You've been married for so many years so tell me, why do you feel so irate about this kiss that makes you hell-bent on believing that she's lying to you?" Kakashi asks while taking a sip of liquor.

"Because she promised me Kakashi!" Sasuke shouts then aggressively stands up almost knocking over the drinks on the table.

He rubs his hands down his face and adds "she promised that if anything happened between them she would 'run to me,' 'that I'd be the first to know.'"

Sasuke walks over to the doorway and leans his arm on the post turning his back to Kakashi.

"I warned her Kakashi. I warned her over and over about Kiba, I could tell that he was looking for more than just friendship… I told her that even before we got married and when we were I still cautioned her about him because it kept digging into my thoughts,"

He turns around to Kakashi and continues, "But she kept telling me 'I had nothing to worry about, that I was thinking too deep, he's just her best friend.'"

Sasuke sighs and walks back over to Kakashi still seated and listening closely "And I believed her, as much as my mind was telling me otherwise I put my full trust in her because I had faith in our love."

"She welcomed him into our home. I drank with him... I ate with him... I listened to them share their inside jokes from the past all the while seeing the disgusting looks he gave her. I watched him lick his lips if she wore something a little sexy, I watched the way he hugged her when they said their goodbyes, I watched him eye fucking my wife whenever he thought I wasn't looking." Sasuke swallows the frog in his throat that was starting to make his tone weaken.

He continues "I begged Hinata, I begged her countless times to try to see things the way I saw them and she dismissed me every, single, time insisting that it's purely innocent."

"…And like a good fool I continued to erase the doubt, telling myself that she would never lie to me, Hinata would never keep anything from me." Sasuke sits back at the table, bundling his fists. "She had two weeks Kakashi two whole fucking weeks, and she said nothing to me." There was a long pause and Sasuke chuckles scornfully at what he was about to say next.

"Only to find out about the one thing I dreaded from the start, the one thing that I warned her a hundred times about throughout our entire marriage… online, along with half the city. She didn't even have the fucking decency to tell me herself."

"I had to find out like that?" He asks rhetorically then scoffs

He smacks down hard on the table "I feel like she's been fucking playing me all these years" he says with his jaw clenched.

Kakashi sighs then replies while looking at Sasuke keenly "I'm sure you know that isn't true."

"Sasuke I understand that you didn't get the validation you needed, but have you considered who Hinata is in all this? You know she's not one to actively seek out negatives or even call out bad tendencies in anyone, not even with you. I'm sure that's especially hard when she's known that person since childhood."

"Also Kiba may have hidden his true intentions from her well enough that she didn't consider it to be a serious threat, that doesn't mean she was complicit or accepting of his affection for her." Kakashi lectures as Sasuke rubs his now throbbing hand.

"It doesn't matter Kakashi, she continued to entertain him although I explicitly told her I was uncomfortable with him around, then I see a picture of the two of them kissing, that seems pretty accepting to me," Sasuke replies uncaringly while shaking his head.

"She couldn't tell me about a harmless kiss? Imagine what else she's been willing to hide from me all these years that wasn't accidentally caught on camera. I don't know how else I should have interpreted all this," Sasuke says unconvinced by Kakashi's chiding.

"You should interpret it the way your wife explained," Kakashi responds.

Sasuke smirks condescendingly and shakes his head "Ok then, I came here so you can tell me what to do to make her confess not nitpick at my reasoning."

Kakashi was now a bit peeved by Sasuke's insensible attitude. He folds his arms and looks at the ceiling thinking of what to say to make Sasuke acknowledge his flawed logic and come to an understanding.

"Sasuke you told me that you saw all the cues Kiba was giving off, maybe that's because you were actively looking for them. That doesn't mean Hinata picked up on any of it."

Sasuke doesn't respond.

"You told me everything that Kiba did to raise your suspicion, but you haven't said one thing Hinata has done other than be friendly to someone she calls her friend. Have you ever seen her reciprocate any of his signals? Did you see signs of her in any way accepting his advances or trying to get his attention, or was it all one-sided?" Kakashi questions.

Sasuke's eyes darts side to side as he thinks back, he squeezes his already throbbing hand with the other "No, I never saw her do anything." His demeanor was now more accepting of Kakashi's words.

"Then don't you think you may have overreacted?" He asks considerately.

Sasuke rubs his eyes with the base of his hands while thinking about what Kakashi said.

He nods slowly, rubbing his face down from his forehead and eyes leaving his hands clasped at his chin. He sighs at the realization Kakashi just implanted onto him and simply says "I'm fucked" now with a worried expression.

Kakashi finally got the response he was looking for, now that Sasuke believes that he may have misjudged the situation the real conversation can begin.

"Why didn't you just stay and talk it out with her that night? Why did you cheat on your wife Sasuke?" Kakashi interrogated.

Sasuke bundles his fists slamming them down on the table "Because I had the urge to hit her!" He shouts, he looks at Kakashi then sighs.

"When she slapped me… I could feel it coming, my hands were burning, my head was a mess. She made everything sound so casual I couldn't take it anymore,"

He bows his head then continues "I didn't leave with the intention of cheating, I just needed to cool off- then Sakura called and I-I don't know," he sighs while rubbing the back of his neck knowing nothing he says would be able to excuse his actions.

Kakashi responds impressed "Well it's good that you didn't, it takes a lot of strength to hold yourself back when you're incensed. However, with all things considered you've possibly pushed her to the edge,"

"What if she left you?" Kakashi asked somberly.

Sasuke pops his head up "She wouldn't, I-I wouldn't let her." He rubs his temples having an instant headache at the thought of Hinata leaving him.

"Have you spoken to Kiba at all since it happened?" Kakashi enquires.

Sasuke scoffs with a devilish look in his eyes and replies uncaringly "I have no idea where he is so no." He takes up his glass and looks at the liquor.

Kakashi starts to fear the worst due to Sasuke's affiliation with brute partners who aren't above doing underhanded tactics.

"Sasuke please tell me Kiba isn't 'missing'," he asks warily of Sasuke's impending response.

Sasuke sneers at the question "I didn't have him killed if that's what you're implying, I'm not a monster," he answers apathetically, which makes Kakashi let out a sigh of relief.

Sasuke quickly adds after taking a sip of his drink, not wanting to look like a chump "I did tell my partners about his relatively profitable trucking company that could serve useful. They acquired it shortly afterward, since it was his lifelong legacy and only source of income I can only assume that they roughed him up a bit to take it."

Kakashi rubs his head disappointed but satisfied with that answer more than another.

He then continues to grill Sasuke "Well then if Kiba is out of the picture why are you still so content with hurting Hinata? Why do you enjoy leaving her alone at home? Why are you happy that your marriage is falling apart?"

"I'm not!" Sasuke claps back, he tosses his glass back onto the table and there was a long pause. Sasuke exhales quickly then continues.

"I'm not content, believe me, I still want her Kakashi I'm still in love with her and it kills me… But it hurts, my heart still hurts because she kept it from me she didn't even apologize for not telling me," he says while his heart pounds faster from the real thought of his marriage ending.

"She wasn't planning on telling me about it at all… I want to fix everything, but… I'm afraid to know what else she might be hiding," Sasuke says as he forcefully tries to hold back the tears now brimming in his eyes.

"I want nothing more than to fix everything, and it terrifies me." Sasuke continues with a worrisome smile, now staring at Kakashi.

"It terrifies me that I still want to hold her and never let go,"

"It terrifies me that I'm still willing to give her all of me, even more,"

"I'm worried we won't ever be happy together,"

"…Kakashi, I still feel like can't trust my wife," Sasuke says with his whole body now trembling and the faint smile still visible. "But I still can't let her go." He adds as his voice breaks while fighting hard to keep the tears from falling.

Sasuke was not one to easily shed tears in the presence of another person and his body's steadfast fight to keep his emotions in check at the moment made that clear.

Kakashi was taken aback, ever since knowing Sasuke as a young teen this is the first time he's ever seen him vulnerable and teary-eyed.

"Sasuke, you have to let go of this overbearing fear you have from your past, and you have to set aside the hatred in your heart or you'll just keep causing yourself and Hinata more heartache," Kakashi pleads for him to release his tears.

There was a brief pause and then Sasuke yells loudly into his hands, the tears now overflowing their banks. He knew Kakashi was right about everything.

"Why didn't she just tell me?"

"I gave her all of me Kakashi, I did everything to make her happy"

"Why didn't she run to me like she said she would?"

"Why did I have to see that picture?" His voice starts to weaken as he continued to assert all the things he was feeling in his heart.

"Why can't I stop loving her Kakashi?"

He grips his chest with the last question, his crying now inaudible and his mouth open while the tears now gush down his face.

Kakashi pulls his head so it's resting on his shoulders and pats his back, Sasuke begins to whimper and sniffle.

"I'm going to lose her this time,"

"Kakashi, it hurts so much,"

"Make it stop, I think I'm dying," he says short of breath.

"You're not going to die, even though it feels close," Kakashi says trying to comfort his old pupil.

"What should I do?" Sasuke asks quietly.

"You'll have to do everything" Kakashi answered lifting Sasuke's head off him.

"Do you have any feelings for Sakura?" Kakashi asks

Sasuke begins wiping the tears running down his cheeks now regaining control over his deep emotions "No, not even a little, I started to remember why I never check for her all these years."

"How many times did you sleep with her?" Kakashi questions

"A few," he replies while looking on the floor, "I couldn't even go through with it after the first few times. She got so bothersome and clingy." Sasuke says callously.

"Then the first thing you need to do is end things with her, whatever you were doing with her it has to stop now."

Sasuke nods his head in agreement and says "easy"

"Then you need to apologize to your wife, she might be apprehensive but you'll have to stick it out." Kakashi states

"Do you really think she'll forgive me after everything?" Sasuke asks anxiously

"Well you broke your vows to her Sasuke that in itself is unforgivable, added to that is the way you mistreated her afterward. You're going to be facing an uphill battle for her forgiveness." Kakashi says while rubbing his chin.

Sasuke sneers "I'm so screwed," now bowing his head into his hands.

"It is possible though, Hinata must be taking your past into account since she hasn't already left you,"

"So if you genuinely don't want to lose her then you'll just have to endure whatever she throws at you." He responds trying to reassure a defeated Sasuke.

"If you're not too late then there's a chance you can salvage the union, but it really will be up to her," he adds.

As he continues talking with Kakashi all the anger he felt towards Hinata subsides and it no longer clouds his judgment to think rationally. All he wants more than anything is to hold her when he gets home and beg for her forgiveness. Sasuke calls Sakura and bluntly tells her that what they had was over, and he was going back to his wife.

Phone call~

"Please Sasuke can we do this in person?" Sakura begs now sniffling after Sasuke says they are finished.

"No, I don't want to see you ever again," He retorts with an uncaring tone and she begins wailing hoping to persuade him to feel sorry for her.

"Sakura, why do you think I was always already erect whenever I came over?" He adds trying to make her understand.

She stops sniffling waiting for him to finish his sentence.

"Because I needed relief, relief from the thoughts of fucking my wife it was never you that I wanted I just wanted relief" He adds with a lazy voice. "Sakura you're too annoying."

"You piece of shit!" she yells harshly.

"I know," Sasuke responds unmoved by her aggression.

Sakura was done, she was fed up with Sasuke's heartless attitude towards her.

"I hope you rot in hell you fucking pig!" She replies then hangs up, ending their affair for good.

Sakura knew that he wouldn't be affected by her words and she couldn't take his rejection laying down, she wants to ensure that his chance of reconciliation with Hinata would be impossible even if she wasn't going to have him. She grabs her phone and uploads a two-minute video of herself sucking off Sasuke which she secretly recorded to use in a time like this to give him a 'fuck you goodbye.'

Sasuke thanked Kakashi for his advice and heads straight home.

When Sasuke drives off, Kakashi takes out his phone to put it on charge while quickly scrolling through his explore page.

"Well now, this is a turn of events." He says while staring wide-eyed at some new viral pictures of Hinata and Naruto.

'I wonder if anything I said will stick after he sees this,' he thinks to himself while looking out the window into the distance.

I hope that this chapter gave sufficient insight into Sasuke's rationale behind his actions now. I did initially plan on chapters 5 and 6 being one but when I was writing it seemed way too long so I stopped, even this chapter alone still seems too long to me but let me know if you don't mind longer chapters in the future.

A/N: Guys how did no one tell me how atrocious some of my grammar and structuring was in the first two chapters. I mean English is sort of my official language but when I was rereading I wasn't too sure and was mortified that I published them lol, I guess I should stop listening to music when I'm proofreading (but it's so hard). Please forgive me, I tend to gloss over missing words or incorrectly used ones because my mind already knows what's supposed to be there and Word decides to autocorrect me at times but incorrectly you know. So please if you notice any mistakes feel free to PM me. I want the reading experience to be just as good as how it feels when I'm writing.

I've corrected the errors I found so expect small changes if you reread and big up to those who stuck around sifting through it when it was a mess you guys are the real MVPs or MVRs in this case.
