Chapter Two

Groaning Kagome slowly came to, her ears picking up the sound of a bustling village. Eyes still shut she laid there, her body sore and stiff. Her head was throbbing and her thoughts were a jumbled mess. She knew the second she cracked her eyes open her headache would only worsen so instead she wanted to buy herself a few more minutes of peace.

Pulling on her depleted miko powers she spread them out poking and prodding at her surroundings. She didn't know where she was just that it sounded like a village...

Her eyes shot open at what met her senses.

Hissing in pain she sat up, her world spinning as she placed a hand to the bridge of her nose to try and stifle the pain.

"Hgng." The small noise left her parched lips sounding like a mix of a whine and whimper. She almost jumped as a pair of hands moved to steady her, their large calloused hands wrapping around her upper arms, which should not have been bare.

"Woah there, hey someone fetch Harvey! She's finally awake!" Flinching at the loud boyish voice right next to her ears she let out a pained hissed and flicked her eyes up to meet honey gold eyes. Instantly a name was on the tip of her lips yet it died there.

Instead of long sliver locks she was met with semi curly blond locks framing a semi tanned face. On his right cheek sat two stripes, a small fang poking out the side of his mouth as he gazed down at her, worry in his honey depts.

Upon his head, buried in the golden wheat locks sat a pair of cat ears. Her fingers twitched as she longed to reach out and touch, shoving the random and childish thought down she merely cleared her throat and pulled back from the unknown male.

"W-where?" Her voice was raspy and it made her swallow thickly, only to wince in pain as it felt like she had swallowed sand. The male quickly moved away, allowing her to see the animal skins he wore as clothing, as well as the spotted tail that moved under the hem of his skirt, swishing in anxiety.

"Ah, here...you must be thirsty!" He was quickly at her side again, a wooden bowl in his hands. Her eyes lit up as she shakily grasped the bowl and brought it to her lips and took small little sips. She knew if she downed it in one gulp it would only come right back up.

Turning her head away from it she took in a deep breath and moved her gaze to meet that of the male's. "Thank you." He beamed at her words, a light blush dusting his cheeks.

Running her senses over him she felt no ill intent, just a sense of curistoy, eagerness, and hope?

Blinking she turned towards the door, feeling another aura approach, quickly the wooden door was opened and another male entered the room, shutting the door behind him he kept his gaze lowered as he set his bag down on the ground slowly, as if afraid of upsetting her or the other male in the room.

Said male merely gave a small snort and glanced away from the obviously submitting male, his body still very close to hers, as if trying to make a statement.

A claim.

Arching an eyebrow at the very demon-like behavior she turned her eyes back to the more timid male and blinked as he kneeled before her, his sky blue eyes raking over her face looking for injuries. It was obvious to her trained eyes that he was a healer of some sorts.

Giving him a small smile she shifted wanting to get down to business. "How long was I out?" Her voice was still a bit wispy but better then it had been before the water.

Harvey blinked, a light flush dusting his cheeks, she was honestly the most beautiful female he had ever seen but it was well known that Parker had already stated his claim and he did not want any issues with the young prince.

"Four days, we were worried you wouldn't wake up. Thankfully most of the blood on you wasn't yours. You have a few wounds on your lower left side and a sprained ankle." Nodding Kagome recalled the events of the last battle, her wounds had been mostly healed while she had been in the jewel with its creator.

"I see." She licked her lips, not at all noticing the way both males followed the small pink muscle. She let her powers run over her body taking stock of a few more scratches and bruises, they would be healed in no time. Her powers were nearly depleted and she mused she would have to let them rest before she tried to use them any more then she had.

Pulling them back into the very core of her soul she felt a small shiver go through her at the sudden feeling of being cut off from the more spiritual world, it left her feeling naked and vulnerable.

Parker furrowed his eyebrows and moved closer to the female he had found, her small body made his instincts kick into high gear, how he wanted to just gather her up and rub his scent all over her.

To claim her, to mark her.

Already she was in his furs, her bloodied clothes had been sent away to be washed and repaired, her other meager belongings had been stored in the corner of his room. He had been loathe to leave her side since he had brought her to the village, there had been far too many males trying to get a peek at her and it irked him. She was going to be his mate! Even so every male had made an attempt to seek her out and he had spent much of his time scaring them off.

So of course she would wake up while he was doing a patrol around his hut, luckily he had heard her groan and had been the first one for her to see and damn was he glad to be the first one to see her. Her eyes were a beautiful sapphire blue, one often said to belong to only those in the mermaid tribe.

"Where am I?" Her words murmured yet his ears twitched as her melodic voice rang in them.

"You're in my hut, in the leopard village." His voice was light as he responded, his hand still supporting her upper back as she sat up, her eyebrows furrowed as she no doubt lost herself in thought, it was the cutest thing he had ever seen!

"Are you in any pain?" Harvey's voice cut through his euphoric feeling and he felt a growl bubble up in his chest yet as her small hand soothed over his bicep he could only flush red as she shifted a bit closer as if to assure him.

Honestly Kagome was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even realize she had moved to comfort the male next to her, it was just ingrained in her from all the times of having to calm down Inuyasha or Koga. The two fought like cats and dogs even after all the time they spent around each other.

It was plain for her to see she was not in the feudal era nor was she in her time...she was in an entirely different world, things had felt similar yet so very off when she had run her aura over her surroundings earlier...

The males in the room with her weren't human nor were they demons...they felt like wild animals yet they held human form...and it was obvious by the one males answer that he expected her to know where she was when he had said they were in the leopard village.

"Miss?" She blinked at the timid males voice and flushed a bright red when her gaze met his worried eyes. Here she was spacing out and she had yet to even introduce herself or learn the names of the two who had obviously helped her while she was unconscious.

"Ah, sorry. Kagome, my name is Kagome. What are your names?" Her gaze was pulled from the timid male as the one next to her gave a low rumble.

"My name's Parker and that's Harvey, the village healer. If you're feeling better would you like some food?" He grinned at her, reminding her of a child eagerly wanting all her attention and it made him smile.

"Ah, well thank you Parker and Harvery for taking care of me and yes I would love some food... if you have some small strips of dried meat or fruit that might be best for my stomach." To try to eat anything more then that would only make her feel worse.

Parker nodded, his mind set on a task, he regretfully pulled himself away from Kagome, loving the way she looked in his spare furs, in his bed of furs...it made him swell with pride. He quickly turned a glaring look towards Harvey, his intent for the other male to scarm clear.

Harvey gulped, easily catching the hint and quickly gathered his bag, reaching inside he pulled out a small satchel of herbs and set it on the ground. "Ah, please make tea with these herbs and drink it twice a day. If you need anything else please feel free to send for me." With that he was out the door, his tail between his legs.
