Three days later and Kagome was damn sure she was in a completely different world, one full of beast men and freaking dinosaurs. One where females were rare and in high demand, and humans were non-existent, she'd been able to avoid disclosing what tribe she was from by feigning memory loss.

It made her feel bad, lying to Parker but she needed to plan out what to say and do. She was stuck here in this brave new world and she didn't want to screw herself over. As it was Parker had pretty much laid claim to her, and while she did find him endearing she wasn't ready to take a mate.

The first step to take would be to hunt her own furs, she wasn't daft. Parker had deliberately decked her out in his furs to make a claim and while she was glad it kept most of the males away she didn't want to get his hopes up. Her heart was still so very damaged from her past and she didn't want to throw herself into a new relationship even if it meant making things easier for herself.

To do so would not only be irresponsible but unfair to not only Parker but herself.

Letting a small sigh out of her nose she smiled as Parker turned to look at her from his spot by the fire pit, he was so very attentive to her and her needs. "Parker, I think I'm well enough to go hunting. Would you like to come with me?" Instantly she regretted her words as he bounded over to her, his large rough hands clasping over hers, a frown on his lips.

"If you're hungry I'll go hunting. You're a female, you shouldn't push yourself." His words were earnest and pure and it was the only thing that kept her from biting his head off. Forcing a smile she shook her head at him.

"I would like to hunt for you, you've done so much for me. Please let me repay you?" It was all about her wording, if she made it seem like it wasn't an insult to him, his care, and his ability to provide for her he would be less advertised to saying no.

She could see the wheels in his head turning and decided to up the stakes by pouting her lips a bit, it had always worked on Inuyasha and Koga so she had hope it would work on Parker as well.

Parker couldn't help the flush that bloomed on his cheeks, she was absolutely the most beautiful female he had ever seen and it made him want to hide her away from everyone and everything. Yet she had shut that down, going as far as to get mad at him when he tried to make her cover her face in mud. It had taken him half a day to get her to talk to him and he really didn't want to have to relive that again...

So as she gazed up at him, her blue eyes sparkling and her lips pouting, her small hands curling into his...he could only grit his teeth and nod his head. He knew tongues would start wagging but he was hard pressed to care so long as his female was happy and he was very curious to see if her hunting skills were any good as most females had never had to hunt a day in their lives.

"I guess, but if you get tired we're coming right back and you're going to rest." His words were low and full of emotion and suddenly Kagome felt like they were too close, too fast. So with a bright smile she pulled away from him and stood up, dusting the bottom of her skirt off. Moving to the corner of the room she grabbed her bow and quiver of arrows.

Inspecting them for damage she was glad to find none and quickly slung them into place. As the familiar weight of her weapon settled on her body she suddenly felt much better, stronger and far more natural. Parker had been so very curious about her bow and arrows, having never seen them before, and she was quick to explain they were tools for hunting. After which he had asked why she would ever need such a thing.

Which had just spiraled down into a discussion about her tribe and she had been quick to shut it down by feigning memory loss due to head trauma. Feeling a bit like her old self, as much as she could without her powers back to full power, she turned a beaming smile towards Parker and mentioned for him to lead the way.

She didn't know the lay of the land and trusted him to lead them to a hunting ground, plus by letting him lead it might soothe his ego a bit. Honestly she'd been expecting him to put up much more of a fight, she could just tell from observing the village life the past few days there was a huge difference between what was expected of a female and a male. Yet he had relented if only to keep her happy and it was endearing to her, so she knew she had to put some kind of distance between them before she got used to it.

Two hours later found Kagome and Parker returning to the village with four rabbits hunted by her and a boar hunted by Parker. She could have bagged more but she didn't want to offend him when he had gone out of his way and against his instincts to humor her.

Kagome could only blink as they came upon a gathering of people, all of them talking and mummering at the same time a mixture of growls and common tongue. Tilting her head to look at Parker knowing he was able to make out their words better than her.

Parker blinked at the rumblings and turned back to look at Kagome, her kills hanging from her waist via a piece of twine, upon her cheek was a small smudge of blood and it made his heart skip a beat. He had expected to feel humiliated by her hunting alongside him yet it had stirred something inside of him. Something that was excited to see she could fend for herself and any cubs they would have.

He felt his lower half twitch at the thought of her stomach full with his cubs, he quickly pushed the images down and instead focused on her question, a small frown on his lips. "Harvey found another female while gathering herbs. She was being chased by wolves and is now resting in the common hut..."

Kagome blinked, another female...maybe it was another human, like her? From what Parker had told her, females were rare and were almost never without a male nearby...so for two unaccompanied females to turn up in the same place not even two weeks apart...it was far too convenient for it to not be connected.

"Ah, we should store our kills and go check on her, she might be from my village..." She trailed off, letting it seem like a question so that he could make the final decision. If he didn't want to go with her then she would go later on her own.

Parker nodded his head, his hand moving to her lower back to guide her towards the hut they shared for the time being. He liked the way she deferred to him, it made him giddy.

Kills and her weapons stored in the corner he was glad that they had decided to gut their kills in the forest, at least they wouldn't have to deal with gutting them later. It was with a comfortable silence that they made their way to the common hut. The others parted for them like the red sea. He was after all the son of the leopard king and she was his female, well more like he was her male, though unmarked, it was commonly known and expected to happen eventually.

Entering the hut Kagome blinked as she caught sight of the small trembling female, she had long brown hair, glossy brown eyes, pale skin, and was wearing modern-day clothing.

Yup, she was a human alright.
