Chapter Four

Kagome gave a small smile as she glanced at the female then over to Harvey. Parker put his hand on the small of her back fully leading her into the hut as he glanced at the new female, head tilting to the side.

'She is almost as pretty as Kagome.' He thought before he glanced back at Kagome who had a curious look on her face. He didn't see any recognition on either of the girls' faces at seeing each other, so they may not be from the same village, but from their looks, they had to be.

"I take it you two heard the commotion and came to check it out." Harvey inquired, as he held what looked to be a plant in his hand, rubbing it on the girl's ankle.

'Ginger?' Kagome inwardly questioned seeing the plant. She saw the girl flinch a couple of times when the plant was rubbed too hard. The girl's ankle was hurt, the discoloration giving it away as big brown eyes were filled with tears.

"It is the only thing the village is talking about at the moment." Parker grinned, his eyes going back to the female, as Harvey stood up, setting the ginger down and letting the other male have his full attention.

"She was being chased by wolves, she hurt her ankle there as well. She said she was a part of the Ape tribe..." He glanced over to Kagome who had yet to say anything but was looking at the female with curiosity.

"Do you perhaps know each other? Your features are quite similar..." Harvey asked the raven-haired woman.

Kagome frowned, eyes narrowing at the young woman before her. She was definitely from her world, the clothing was enough of a giveaway. She didn't expect her to lie about...though she can guess where she got the idea of being part of the ape clan.

"No. I don't recognize her at all..." Kagome hummed, glancing over to Parker again who had a small frown on his face. Kagome would have to think of a way to talk to him about where she is from, because if the two of them could be here, that means there could be more. Kagome didn't want to lie and for it to come out later. That could make things complicated and hurt feelings in the long run.

"My name is Bai QuingQuing..." The girl who seemed a bit skittish still looked at Kagome, eyes watching her every move, as if she was trying to place something.

"It's nice to meet you. My name is Kagome, and the other male is Parker." She gave the girl a smile, blue eyes warm as she could tell that Bai was uncomfortable.

"I guess it was worth a try." Harvey sighed, glancing at the brown haired woman who was still seated.

"She will stay here for the time being until her injury stops hurting." Harvey told them, Kagome could see Bai shift uncomfortably as a small blush was on her cheeks as she glanced at the two males.

Kagome's eyes narrowed at this, but said nothing as she made herself smile, "I hope you recover well Bai." She glanced at Parker who seemed to pick up on her mood, his tail twitching behind him.

"We should let you get some rest. I can come visit you tomorrow to see how you are feeling..." Kagome glanced over to Parker, wanting to see if he would bring her again. She knew he liked having her ask him. Alpha male that he was. Demons had been the same way. Inuyasha had gone off on her, being angry when she went or did things without telling him. Something to do with having to protect her.

Parker nodded, "We shall see you later. Have a good night." He gave a small nod to Harvey and led Kagome out of the hut.

The two walked in silence for a few minutes as Parker led her back to his hut, as they entered he spoke up, "You had some recognition when you saw her..." He trailed off as Kagome paused, blue eyes looking up into warm gold.

"I recognized the outfit..." Kagome supplied, biting her lip. She would come clean, she just didn't know how much he would believe. It was a far-fetched story.

"I haven't been totally honest to you about where I came from, because it is a hard story to believe...I didn't know how to tell you..." Kagome moved to sit down. Parker, who was frowning, crouched down so he was in front of her and took her hands into his own.

"You are my female...I will believe you. From what I have seen you aren't someone to lie or be a bad person..." Parker gave her a small purr as he rubbed his cheek on her hands.

Kagome gave a small laugh, taking one of her hands and giving his head a pet, her fingers twitching to pet the ears on top of his head. She refrained, but just barely.

"I am a human..." Kagome started out, as she motioned for Parker to sit by her. He did so, taking one of her hands into his, gently playing with her fingertips as she spoke.

"Human...?" Parker tilted his head, not hearing the word before.

"Yes, a human. I am sure Bai is as well. Her outfit is something normal from where I am from...which isn't in this world." Kagome took a deep breath as she continued.

"In the world, I am from, there are only humans and demons. Demons are close to what you are, but they are also very very different. Beasts, like yourself, aren't in my world." Kagome took a pause as she waited for that to digest. She could see the frown on his face as he watched her.

"Humans and beasts are different from what I have seen...I know it is hard to believe but it is true." Kagome didn't know what else to tell him, They could go into detail about how the two species were different, but bare minimum information was fine for now.

"And the other female, Bai, is human as well?" Parker inquired. Harvey had said she told them she was from the Ape clan...

"She could be...or the outfit came from someone else that came here. I am not sure. She said she was a part of a clan, so we can't really say she isn't...humans are said to be descendants of Apes..." She didn't want to explain further, and Parker could tell.

"Thank you for telling me." He moved and gave her a small lick on the cheek, making Kagome jump and a blush to dust her cheeks.

"How about, for now, we ready the food we caught. You can teach me more about...humans later." Parker gave a bright smile, as he stood up and went to where the kills from today's hunts were, leaving a surprised Kagome sitting there.
