CHAPTER 3
Siniy hardly had to stretch out his strides to keep pace with Weiss as she ran without the assistance of aura. They made it to the airship docks in time for Winter's airship to touch down, and the two approached the eldest Schnee sibling while she disembarked her ship. "Winter!" Weiss said, brimming with excitement before she recomposed herself. Winter for her part looked at the unchanged architecture of Beacon since last she visited Vale, then her eyes studied the giant next to her sister. They only lingered for a moment before she was addressed by Weiss again. "What are you doing here?" Weiss asked, a genuine smile plastered to her face.
"That's Classified." Winter said.
"Oh, right… Well, how long are you staying?" Weiss asked, changing her question.
"Also classified." Was the answer. Siniy huffed in amusement at Atlas's lack of transparency, as the sisters continued their conversation, consisting of Weiss being reprimanded for missing an attack or two in the team fight. Siniy rolled his eyes at that. As if missing an opponent was not expected to happen from time to time… That's why Siniy had a machine gun, one of the rounds would eventually do it's job.
"Leave us." Winter said to her AK-200 escort, before turning back to her sister. "How have you been?" She asked.
Weiss perked up again. "Oh, I'm doing excellent. My grades are all top marks, and I'm in the highest ranked bracket in combat class now." Weiss said before Winter's hand started moving. The eldest Schnee sibling intended on silencing her sister with a well placed but gentle slap… Only for the giant to grab her wrist halfway, having moved so fast Winter hardly had time to register she'd been snatched. Winter looked at the giant's fist clenched around nearly her entire forearm, then to her sister, then up at the giant, as both the AK's and the human soldiers behind her pointed their rifles at him.
"Unhand me." Winter said coldly.
Weiss was in a state of shock, she didn't need to have her boyfriend getting into a slugfest with her sister. "Siniy, stop!" Weiss said quickly, and with no more than a glance at his girlfriend, Siniy let go of the Atlesian specialist.
"A friend of yours I take it?" Winter asked, rubbing her wrist before returning her hands behind her back, as the AK's and soldiers lowered their weapons.
Weiss cringed a little. "Winter, this is Siniy Garnet, a friend of mine from my sister team." Weiss explained. Winter dawned a gentle smile.
"That's what I was asking. If you'd made any friends while at Beacon. Not how your grades were fairing." Winter explained, before curiosity struck her. "You never mentioned him in your writings." She stated.
Weiss's eye's darted to the side. "We weren't exactly on the best terms before the Vytal festival." Weiss said, before Siniy rolled his eyes and lifted his beanie off his head, revealing his ears. Winter's eyebrows shot up for a second. Though she didn't have any negative or positive sentiments regarding the faunus, she knew that her father had damn well managed to have a few of his rub off on Weiss, and it came as a surprise to her that she'd befriended one in less than a year since she left home… Then she noticed the slight blush her sister had, and suddenly Siniy grabbing her arm to prevent Weiss from being hit made sense.
"Oh…" Winter thought. She cleared her throat. "Well, I have some free time before a meeting… Why don't you show me your quarters?" Winter suggested, as she started walking, Weiss and Siniy then turned to stand side by side. The AK-200's began moving in a loose box formation several feet behind the trio… Only for two to be destroyed by our resident drunk.
Winter turned to see one of her least favorite people behind her, having decapitated an AK. "Hey, I'm talking to you." Qrow Brawnwen slurred as he approached the group, pointing at them, his finger just hardly glossing over it's intended target, instead, lingering over the youngest of the three. Weiss furrowed her brow, and approached Qrow.
"Do you have any idea who you're talking to?" She asked, only for Qrow to place his hand on her face, and shove her out of the way, knocking her onto her butt.
"Not *bruuuuurp* you." He said, belching amid his response, while taking another step, only then just realizing that Siniy Garnet had moved right behind Weiss, and had his arms crossed. "What do you want, ugly?" Qrow asked, eyebrow half raised, as Siniy put an oversized hand on his shoulder.
"To break you." Siniy said in Cyrillic, before he swung his foot up into Qrow's groin, knocking him up into the air, taking the wind from his lungs, and allowing Siniy to take hold of his thigh. The fight was over before it began, Siniy had well over 1800 pounds on Qrow and both meat hooks firmly on the man. Siniy raised the drunk over his head, continuing the motion from his kick, then dropped into a kneeling position, and slammed the huntsman's back down on his knee cap. In immense pain, and having been dumped on the concrete like a sack of potatoes, Qrow groaned, as he rolled over onto his stomach, only for the giant to turn around and sit on him. Being crushed by the upper limit of weight Qrow could carry with his aura, he quickly tapped the walkway to signal his surrender.
"Siniy, get off of the man." Weiss said, pinching the bridge of her nose as she got up.
"What, he shoved you." Siniy reasoned, as he got off of Qrow.
"What is going on here?" General Ironwood asked, approaching the scene.
"Sir." Winter said with a salute. "Qrow… Well I'm not exactly sure what he was doing, but he shoved Weiss, and Mr. Garnet took it upon himself to… Defend her." Winter said. Ironwood looked at Siniy, then down at Qrow, and over to Weiss.
"He took on Qrow?" Ironwood asked himself, before he sighed. "Qrow, Winter, please come with me." Ironwood said, before turning and walking away. Winter gave a smile to her sister, and Qrow picked himself up, and shot Siniy a look.
"That was cheap." Qrow slured in passing, as Siniy shrugged.
As the adults left the courtyard, Weiss slapped Siniy's thigh… That was about as far up as she could slap on him without having to reach above her shoulder… "What was that?" She asked in a half whisper. Siniy raised an eyebrow and started speaking in Old Atlesian, knowing damn well that nobody would know what he was saying except Weiss.
"He pushed you." Siniy said, only for Weiss to roll her eyes.
"You didn't have to fight him for me… People are going to suspect something if you defend me like that all the time." Weiss said switching to Old Atlesian as well.
"Oh, I'm sorry, was I supposed to let the clearly drunk man rub his hands all over your face?" Siniy asked, with a hint of sarcasm. Weiss opened her mouth then shriveled at the thought of how greasy Qrow's hands felt, and how his breath reeked of Alcohol.
"Fair point, and I appreciate the protective gesture, but… Just… A little more subtlety would go a long way next time." Weiss said.
Siniy nodded, before looking around. "We should probably go find our friends." He said, as Weiss nodded.
Much later on at night, within Beacon's guest dorms, Team CMNE was going over what Mercury had seen. "And you're sure?" Cinder asked.
"Bad hair, smelled like my dad used to after a bad day, yeah it was him." Mercury said, sitting in the room's office chair.
"And he was beaten by the bear faunus?" Cinder continued.
"I watched Siniy fold the guy's back 90 degrees over his knee, like a lawn chair. The huntsman didn't stand a chance." Emerald responded.
After a moment of contemplation Cinder spoke her mind. "Stay the course. Our huntsman has no idea who we are, and though a terrifying prospect the giant can match him, he has no idea of the situation… We leave him out of this… For now. Get some rest, we're going to be putting on quite the show tomorrow." Cinder said, before she picked up her scroll, and smiled as she watched the backdoor access she was given to the Vytal tournament's randomizer wheel change to her liking. Two rigged fights. CMNE VS SSSN, and SPGL VS CFVY. That should keep the little problem children occupied.
Authors Note. Siniy and Qrow. What can I say, between Siniy being protective of his friends/family and very not drunk, and Qrow being drunk, it was really a matter of when Siniy got his hands on Qrow. Like, 90% of the "fights" I have put Siniy into, if he grabs his opponent it's over. They'd either need to be faster than, or physically stronger than him. Both of which are difficult to attain because of how deceptively fast real life bears are, (40mph sprint) which I wanted to reflect here with how snappy he can be when grabbing people/full tilt running, and in terms of strength... Flashback to the 30 ton shipping container... Yeah that's not happening without a mech... flashback to the paladin Siniy ripped an arm off of... Ok, even then... With Qrow being approached by Siniy not realizing how fast the situation was going to go from "Who are you?" to "Oh I'm screwed" he got grabbed and folded, much like how if a mother bear just walked up to you and her cubs were nearby.
I know Siniy seems overpowered now, (Granted, Clayton is a hypermobile tank, and Pale is basically working with a semi-functional OHK hack) but given what we all know is heading their way, strength isn't always going to work. Talk about overpowered, wait until you see what Halcyone can do. ;)
