The trip is taking too long and it's already night time. Trumpet and Geten decided it's a good idea to park the thing just below a tree, mindful of any dwarves nearby… or that powerful princess-witch Koji Koda.

For a short while, there was silence. It was honestly peaceful, if one counts Re-Destro's nonstop yelling about throwing Curious off a roof as a bait for zombies as peaceful.

The stars are out, as well as a numerous amount of shooting stars. Could it be that it's wishing season? Gigantomachia spitting some facts again? Or something else? But one thing is for certain, that some species of dinosaur – maybe Barney the Ferocious Reptile, went extinct that night.

"Hey Hanabata," Geten said as he plopped down and sat in front of the ice cream cart, leaning his back against it. "Why is it that I'm more powerful than the rest of you?"

"Huh?" Trumpet raised an eyebrow as he stretched his political arms.

"You heard me. I thought the MLA is supposed to be this highly trained group. Doesn't training help with Meta-Ability power level? Why is it that you, Chikazoku, and Kizuki are all weak?"

"Ah yes! An interesting topic, young Geten! For this topic, pay no mind that Mizz Kizuki can basically blow up the country with her unlimited invisible explosives but let me put it this way…"

"I'm listening…"

"It's because…" Trumpet gestured for Geten to turn his attention to the wonderful night sky. A light gust of wind blew upon his, ruffling his clothes in the most symbolic of manner as he continued, "it's because of the plot."

"What's plot? Why is Chikazoku keep on talking about it? About the League having plot armor?"

Trumpet chuckled to himself. "For this explanation, let's talk about the Plot first. Think of it like the Force in Star Wars."

"What's Star Wars?"

"Think of it as people going at each other with neon tubes. It was a thrill ride to watch them all, I recommend them to you if you have free time," Trumpet fiddled with his mustache that his neatly-trimmed beard got jealous. "So let's talk about the Plot…"

"Okay…"

"Like I said about the Force, the Plot is a supernatural force that dictates the flow of the universe. We can't fight against it, just go around it. And even then, it's not wise to counter such a natural ebb and flow of reality itself." Trumpet sat in front of Geten and pointed towards the sky in an attempt to sound philosophical, but he's a politician and not a philosopher so he sucked.

"Woah… like destiny?"

Trumpet nodded. "Yes, young Geten. Think of it like destiny. Things that should happen WILL happen."

"But how do you know what things should happen and what's not?"

"Simple. If a thing is going against all logic and whatsoever, then the Plot is guiding them. Like how we travelled in horse outfits last night. Is it logical to travel in horse outfits? Of course not! But it happened and therefore it's part of the plot. Think for example the League of Villains, there's only six of them and they can easily be defeated if you have a pistol or even a basic Super Strength Quirk!"

"But why are they supposedly hard to beat?"

"Because the plot is dictating it! Heroes can end them and track them across the country! Look at us, we just have basic satellite imaging and we can easily see them! But why are heroes not touching them?"

"Because of the plot?"

"And now we're going up to fight them. And Mr. Chikazoku thinks it's not a good idea because the Plot saying it so. He thinks something bad is going to happen to us."

"Yeah… I can feel it too… is it because we're just one-note villains designed to lose so they would look good?"

"Right you are, young Geten. In fact, as powerful as you are, I bet there's going to be some more powerful outside force that will prevent you from mopping the floor with them – which you can theoretically do considering how weak they are."

"You didn't answer my question about me being stronger than the rest of you guys, even Re-Destro."

Trumpet chuckled again. "The entire MLA doesn't even have a member that comes close as powerful as you are. Re-Destro thinks we have a hundred thousand members and therefore over a thousand All for Ones in number but he was wrong, he was so wrong…"

"What happened?"

"You're the strongest member of the MLA, hands down. Heroes and regular people enhance their Meta-Abilities through constant usage, we don't – us at least. No matter how much we try to train, our abilities just stay the same. We're not heroes, we're weak."

"But what about me?"

"The Plot seem to favor people with elemental powers greatly, no matter where they're aligned. I hope I answered your question?"

"So it's basically destiny?"

Trumpet was about to respond when both heard light voices coming from the cart.

"Hey Curious…"

"What is it, Re-Destro?"

"Can I sleep on your chest?"

"No."

"Please? Can you pretend to be my mommy for tonight? I always wanted a blue mommy."

"No, Re-Destro, but Skeptic said something to me earlier about always wanting to be a Dad himself, so go bother him."

"Hey Skepsman? Can you pretend to be my Dad?"

"I'd be happy to, Boss! Do you want me to read you a bedtime story?"

As it happened, one of the lids on top of the ice cream cart opened and out came Curious's head – that can somehow fit there despite the obvious size difference. But as long as the scene is just narrated and not shown, it's allowed to happen because Plot.

"Oh hey, Mizz Kizuki," Trumpet stood up, arms crossed, and nodded his head at the woman. "I was just telling Geten about the story of Plot."

"Ah yes…"Curious wiggled a bit, trying to push out her shoulders out of the lid that's the same size of a Pringles can. "The story of Plot huh?"

"I told him all about it being very similar to destiny. But ten times more real, so how are you feeling with your looming death, Miss Kizuki?"

Worry became visible on Curious's face as her green eyes darted to the ground, she was about say something but her tongue just couldn't form any coherent words. After a few seconds of choking up and wondering on things to say, she finally sighed. "I've done my fair share of research on the power of Plot and its components, and few people actually changed it, like Nighteye."

"With a Meta-Ability like that, I can see how the man dodged his death even if the Plot forced him to be there instead of just waiting in the background while actual heroes finished the job for him."

Geten slowly stood up, remembering the story of Nighteye. He himself found it strange that the man would blindly charge into battle for no reason. Maybe it's because of the Plot? The two older people talking about it made it seem it's his driving force.

"How do you feel, Miss Kizuki?" Trumpet asked, leaning against a nearby tree, with the faint voice of Skeptic telling stories to Re-Destro about sweet dreams being made of these – or whatever the hell he's talking about.

"I dunno… I can feel something not right… but other than that? Nothing…" the woman responded, pulling out her phone from her salmon jacket. "I dunno if Skeptic and Re-Destro are joking around but I think I'm gonna be fine I guess?"

"They're Skeptic and Re-Destro, those two are always fooling around."

"Um Kizuki?" Geten suddenly spoke out. "I want to hear your side of the story on why Hanabata said I'm the strongest and most powerful MLA member despite you guys training for your entire lives."

"Because that's just the Plot. I can never make my explosives level that of anti-tank mines, unless-I-stack-them-but-who-cares. But since the Plot favors people with elemental powers, you got off easily."

"But how do you feel about it? People, especially heroes, can level up their Meta-Abilities with enough use and you guys just… just like that?"

Both Curious and Trumpet nodded.

"Aren't you guys… sad the slightest?"

Trumpet jut shrugged while Curious's gaze went down. "My Meta-Ability had so much potential, only to get dictated by the Plot to be… weak… There's no point complaining about it since… the Plot says it. No amount of training can fix that."

"Tough, isn't it?"

"Hard. Consider yourself lucky, Geten. A villain would kill for that kind of Meta-Ability."

"I don't know what to say…" Geten's voice trailed off. "Don't want to say anything that might rub salt onto the wound…"

"It's okay, Geten…"

"But don't you have a limit on your mines?"

"I can't even put down explosives with my feet for cryin' out loud. My hands deliver my Quirk and it's extremely awkward to crouch every time I need to plant one."

"Oh…"

Trumpet raised a hand. "So what are the chances of Re-Destro defeating the League, with the Plot against us? I have a weird tickling feeling that we'll horribly lose to whatever they got in store for us."

Curious scoffed at what she heard as she inspected her phone for messages. "If I said I want to go to the front lines can someone pull me back? Just in case the Plot wishes me there."

"Don't worry, Kizuki! I got your back!" Geten said out with glee before turning to face Trumpet. "What about you, Hanabata? Should I pull you back?"

"Nah. I'm safe. I should be good. The only thing to watch out for is the patterns of the League. While you cannot change what the Plot has set out for you, it's possible for you to deduce things that are going to happen. For example, the League is known to take out its own powerful members and fight other villains instead of going up against heroes for some reason."

"And?"

"That means the Plot will probably affect a powerful member of a villain group that's about to fight them."

"Pffft. I'm not powerful at all. At any rate, it could be Geten for all we know." Curious's eyes then widened at her phone as a soft smile appeared on her face.

"Yeah but think about what Re-Destro and Skeptic talked about yesterday about your attire. Since when did you wear that?"

"Ever since I popped out of existence I guess? I can't really remember my own backstory aside from getting passed into Shoowaysha and somehow going up to the top ranks with all my crappy online articles that I made…"

"The Plot knows no bounds!" Trumpet finger-combed his hair as he looked down to adjusted his glasses with the other. "But still, the chances of the Plot targeting you is too high. Would you like to go home?"

"Even if I go home, the Plot will just drag me back because I'm an MLA elite. I mean look at us now, why is almost no one acting stupid? Why is no one suddenly breakdancing? Why is everyone seeming normal?"

"The Plot!" Geten suddenly spoke out.

"So who are you texting?" Trumpet asked, walking nearer the woman but Curious just took a step back as he approached.

"That is no concern of yours, Trumpet." Curious backed off some more, with a silly grin on her face as her fingers moved ever faster in typing something.

"How cute. You know it helps to humanize yourself when the Plot is looming overhead, yes? I'm sure you researched about that, seeing you all glued to your PC almost the entire day that is."

"Nope, haven't heard that at all, what's that?"

But before Trumpet could answer, Geten walked up to him. "Are we going to encounter the League tomorrow? Is there anything I need to know about this Plot thing? Do I lose?"

"Losing is almost certain, young Geten. But how we lose is another question. Will they get a power-up? Will they just fight us head on? Is something no shorter than a Deus Ex Machina going to happen? Who knows? Gigantomachia is not much of a threat when we have over 200 giant-based members in the MLA that can warp in at any moment.

"I hope we win!"

"Don't expect too much only to be disappointed…" Trumpet chuckled a bit and faced Curious, who's got her green eyes moving about as she seemed to be reading something on her phone. She giggled a bit and fidgeted her free hand's fingers on her dress like some hormonal highschooler. "Hey Curious, we got your back, okay?"

"Okay okay okay okay make sure I don't die or anything."

"When the fight starts, I'll keep an eye on Kizuki!" Geten squealed. "The MLA elites will be untouchable when I'm around!"

"Let's hope you can keep your word."
