WWF SummerSlam was live at the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. The first match that aired was a six-man tag team match between the team of Right to Censor (The Goodfather, Steven Richards, and Bull Buchanan) and Too Cool (Rikishi, Scotty 2 Hotty, and Grandmaster Sexay). Too Cool gained the early advantage, but The Goodfather retaliated by hitting a Big Boot on Sexay. Right to Censor continued with the advantage until midway into the match, when Richards attempted an aerial technique. Sexay, however, crotched Richards on the top turnbuckle and Superplexed him. Hotty was then tagged into the match, where he attempted to deliver a Worm to no avail, as Richards delivered a superkick on Hotty before pinning him to win the match.

The next match was the encounter of Road Dogg and X-Pac. Both men fought back and forth in the beginning of the match, but Dogg gained the advantage after countering an X-Factor into a powerbomb. Although Dogg had the advantage, X-Pac retaliated by successfully hitting a low blow and another X-Factor into a pinfall and winning the match. After the match, Road Dogg hit X-Pac with a pumphandle slam and performed some crotch chops.

Next up was Chris Benoit issuing an open challenge to anyone for his WWF Intercontinental Championship.

In the arena, Chris Benoit's theme hits to boos and out comes the WWF Intercontinental Champion who makes his way down to the ring and enters, taking off his title and handing it to the referee as his theme dies down. Benoit paces back and fourth as he waits for his opponent.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

Dead Silent plays to a pop from the fans as smoke fills the stage, the lights dimming to a familiar sinister blood red and dark blue. The Bladewolf walks out to a loud pop with Trish Stratus at his side.

"The Bladewolf is back!" JR exclaimed. "We haven't seen Bladewolf since he won the WWF title the night after King of the Ring back in June. He was mysteriously attacked and unable to compete, so he was stripped of the title and hasn't been seen since then but now he's back and he's answering Chris Benoit's open challenge for the WWF Intercontinental Championship."

Bladewolf enters the ring while Trish stays outside the ring. Bladewolf takes off his coat, followed by his short-sleeved shirt and the referee holds up the WWF Intercontinental Championship before giving it to someone at ringside then calls for the bell.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Bladewolf and Benoit walked forward and went eye to eye.

Bladewolf and Benoit then lock up and have a test of strength but Benoit gets Bladewolf into a headlock, but the Demon Wolf send shim running into the ropes but Benoit rebounds, comes running back and shoulder blocks Bladewolf which takes the Demon Wolf down onto his back. Benoit rebounds off the ropes, runs across Bladewolf who jumped to his feet, grabs Benoit in a Tilt-A-Whirl, but Benoit managed to reverse it and get Bladewolf into an arm drag which brings Bladewolf down.

Benoit attempts to go for the Crossface but Bladewolf flips Benoit over him but Benoit manages to land on his feet. The crowd gives a round of applause for the sequence between the two wrestlers who circle each other. Benoit rushes at Badewolf but is picked up... AND SPERED INTO THE CORNER!

Bladewolf drives his shoulder repeatedly into Benoit's stomach before he lands some hammering right hands to Benoit's forehead but Benoit lands a kick to bladewolf's stomach and reverses their positions, hipping some chops across the chest of the Bladewolf, then delivers stomps to the stomach and legs of the Demon Wolf.

Bladewolf suddenly stands, grabs Benoit by the neck with both hands and reverses their positions, throwing Benoit into the corner. Bladewolf unloads on Benoit with a series of lefts and rights before he strikes at certain parts on the body, landing a blow to the stomach, then the ribcage, then the side of the head, then one to the forehead before he ducks a clothesline from Benoit who turns around into Bladewolf's own clothesline.

Bladewolf flips his hair out of his face before he grabs Benoit and Irish whips him into the ropes, but Benoit ducks the coming big boot and Bladewolf turns around into a dropkick from Benoit.

Bladewof and Benoit get to their feet, with Benoit grabbing Bladewolf from behind to attempt a German Suplex but Bladewolf blocks it and elbows Benoit in the side of the head, knocking him back but Benoit quickly came back as he goes for a frontal suplex but Bladewolf blocks it again, knees Benoit in the gut before he slips behind Benoit, grabs him and hits a German Suplex across the ring.

Bladewolf grabs Benoit and lifts him onto his shoulder before he runs and hits a running powerslam, hooks the leg but Benoit kicks out at two. Bladewolf gets to his feet, flips his hair back and raises his right arm to cheers from the fans.

Benoit makes it to his feet and turns around... INTO A GOOZLE!

Bladewolf lifts Benoit who gets out of Bladewolf's hold and attempts to lock in the Crossface but Bladewolf escapes and backs off. Benoit runs at Bladewolf who ducks it, rebounds off the ropes... AND TAKES BENOIT DOWN WITH A SPEAR!

Benoit wisely rolls out the ring before Bladewolf can attempt a pinfall. Benoit grabs his title from the timekeeper's area but Bladewolf was on the hunt as he come sup behind Benoit and grabs him, sending him into the barricade then uppercuts Benoit. Bladewolf tosses Benoit into the ring and slides in after him, ducks Benoit's attempted strike with the title, kicks Benoit in the stomach before setting him up into the Vertical Suplex position... THEN HITS THE JACKHAMMER! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THREE! WE HAVE A NEW WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION!

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Dead Silent plays as Bladewolf gets to his feet while Trish goes to get Bladewolf's new title. "Here is your winner and the NEW World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion... THE BLADEWOLF!" Howard Finkel announced.

Trish enters the ring and hands Bladewolf the title. Bladewolf raises the title before he pulls Trish in with an arm around her waist... AND KISSES HER! The fans go wild as Trish kisses Bladewolf back, wrapping an arm around his neck as the two continued to make out in the middle of the ring. Eventually, they broke the kiss and left the ring...

As soon as they were backstage, Trish spoke. "Can I ask you something?" .

"What?" asked George.

"Well I've seen a lot of kisses and I know which ones mean something and which ones don't," said Trish , "what was the deal with the kiss you gave me out there tonight? That wasn't meant to happen, so was it you adding something or was it something a lot deeper and meaningful? You put something in that kiss. I'm just wondering if you feel the same way about me as I do about you."

"Is this a good answer?" George asked before he pulled her into another kiss that stole her breath. Trish wrapped her arms around him and kissed him back. Eventually they parted for air. "You've been on my mind everyday you visited me in the hospital and I can't go on without letting you know how I feel about you. I love you, Trish and I want to know if you'd go out with me."

"Done." Trish said before pulling him into another kiss...

And our couple is finally together. Might seem rushed, but that's just me and the timeskip. Now, Bladewolf has won his 2nd Intercontinental Championship, a title he never lost since he was stripped of it due to being suspended in storyline back in 1998.
