SmackDown: 12/10/2000
SmackDown was live at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Just 72 hours after finding out that Rikishi was the man who nearly ended his career last year at the Survivor Series, Stone Cold Steve Austin sat in his pick-up truck in the parking lot outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Rattlesnake didn't look happy. We would soon find out that Austin was waiting for Rikishi's arrival at the arena, so he could run him down the way he was run down 11 months ago!
The opening match on SmackDown was a Table Match pitting the Dudley Boyz against Lo Down. Providing special commentary for the match were Los Conquistadors, the two masked gold men who interfered in Monday's Tag Team Championship Match. Although the mysterious gold men had very little to say – "si, senor" was about the extent of it – the match in the ring was full of action. Buh Buh Ray and D-Von were eventually able to 3-D D'Lo through a table for the win.
Jim Ross then sat down with The Rock for a special interview. The Rock said that Rikishi's actions last November at the Survivor Series made him sick to his stomach. He declared that he didn't need Rikishi to help him get to the top; he said he could have done it on his own. The People's Champion said that the thing that really scared him was that Rikishi thinks he did the right thing by hitting the Rattlesnake.
The Rock then said that Rikishi's declaration of the "Great White Hope," and the race card in general, was ridiculous.
He said he had talked to Stone Cold and had just begged him not to do anything to Rikishi that he would wind up regretting.
Backstage at the Staples Center, Mr. Ass was preparing for his tag match when Eddie Guerrero attacked him from behind, viciously beating his already-injured arm with a crowbar. Mr. Ass was unable to compete due to the attack, so Commissioner Mick Foley punished Guerrero by removing him from the scheduled Fatal 4-way match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship, which is now a Triple Threat, consisting of Bladewolf defending his title against Chris Jericho and X-Pac.
And that match is next.
In the arena, Chris Jericho's theme hits to a loud pop from the fans. Jericho appears on the stage in his pose before he begins making his way to the ring.
"The following contest is now a Triple Threat match for the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Championship." Tony Chimel announced. "Making his way to the ring, one of the challengers, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Weighing in at 227 lbs... CHRIS JERICHO!"
"this is going to be great!" Jerry exclaimed, excited.
"Triple Threat rules, Champion doesn't need to be pinned or submitted to lose the title." Cole said. "So Bladewolf's gotta be careful but he's been in these type of situations before and overcome them."
"The odds have been stacked against him before and he's overcome them." Jerry nodded, recalling those moments as Jericho gets in the ring and poses on the turnbuckle before getting down as his theme dies down.
X-Pac's theme hits next to boos from the fans and out comes X-Pac. "And the other challenger, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, weighing in at 212 lbs... X-PAC!" Tony Chimel announced as X-Pac makes his way down to the ring where Jericho is staring him down since the two have had issues as of late.
X-Pac slowly enters the ring warily as his theme dies down.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
Dead Silent plays to a pop from the fans as smoke fills the stage, the lights dimming to a familiar sinister blood red and dark blue. Trish is standing on the stage in a dark robe, dressed in a black top that gave a great view of her cleavage, wore a black leather skirt that stopped mid-thigh, giving a great view of her long legs and wore a black cowgirl hat, before the Bladewolf walks out, the Intercontinental Championship around his waist, and stands in front of her, facing the ring with a dark glare on his face.
Trish takes the robe off, then walks around him, running a hand seductively across his shoulders as she walks forward to the ring while singing.
"He is time... famine, war... pestilence you cannot endure..." Trish gets in the ring and seductively rubs her body against the ropes as she continues while getting more frantic by the second. "the end is here... the end is here! Fall and Pray! Fall and Pray! Fall and PRAY!"
The lights flash blood red repeatedly as Trish falls to her knees and moves out the way as Bladewolf appears in the ring, unleashing a primal yell as he stands under the flashing red lights while the songs repeats the 'fall and pray' part.
Bladewolf beats his chest in sync with the drum part of the theme and the song slowly ends as Trish slides between Bladewolf's legs and poses on her knees in front of him while her back is pressed against his knees.
The lights go to normal and Trish gets to her feet as Bladewolf takes off his coat followed by his short-sleeved shirt to reveal his ring gear underneath.
"Bladewolf sure knows how to be scary." Jerry said with a shiver as Bladewolf hands the Intercontinental Championship to the referee while Trish gets out the ring and stands at ringside.
"I agree." Cole nodded as the referee holds the title up, showing it's on the line, then hands it to someone at ringside before calling for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
X-Pac goes straight for Jericho who ducks it and clobbers X-Pac. Jericho then irish whips X-Pac off the ropes but X-Pac reverses it only for Jericho to take him down with an elbow to the chest. Bladewolf is leaning back in the corner, watching and waiting for his moment to strike. Jericho goes for the cover and Bladewolf breaks it up with an elbow to Jericho's back.
"Bladewolf breaking that pinfall there." Cole said.
Bladewolf grabs Jericho and drives his knees into Jericho's stomach a few times before delivering a right hook into Jericho's ribcage, followed by an uppercut that echoes and makes many in the crowd wince. Bladewolf then floors Jericho with a clothesline.
"Bladewolf is smart." Jerry said. "He'll take out one man and then focus on the other long enough for him to do devastating damage to them."
"That he will, king." Cole nodded.
Bladewolf grabs Jericho and irish whips him but Jericho reverses it. Bladewolf ducks the right hand from Jericho who turns around into an elbow to the chest, knocking him down. Bladewolf then ducks a leaping attack from X-Pac, grabs him from behind and hits a German Suplex across the ring.
"German Suplex to X-Pac!" Cole exclaimed.
"Man!" Jerry winced. "That had to hurt!"
"Last week, Bladewolf fought Steve Blackman for the Hardcore Championship and lost that match." Cole recounted. "Think that'll effect Bladewolf tonight?"
"No." Jerry shook his head. "Bladewolf's not the type to let losses affect him at all."
Bladewolf grabs X-Pac when Jericho jumps onto his back, trying to lock in a Sleeper Hold, but Bladewolf runs backwards and drives Jericho into the corner hard enough that Jericho releases him, allowing Bladewolf to turn around and uppercut Jericho so hard that it knocks him off balance and makes him lean on the ropes. Bladewolf grabs Jericho from behind and hits him with a German Suplex.
"And a German Suplex to Jericho!" Cole said as Bladewolf covers Jericho. "The cover!2
"One!"
"Two-!"
Jericho kicks out at two.
"And Jericho kicks out." Cole said.
Bladewolf gets to his feet only to be dropkicked into the corner by X-Pac. X-Pac gets to his feet and runs for another but Bladewolf catches him!
"Bladewolf's got X-Pac!" Jerry exclaimed.
Bladewolf lifts X-Pac into a sitting position on his shoulders... AND HITS THE LAST RIDE!
"The Last Ride!" Cole shouted. "That's his brother's move!"
Bladewolf flips his hair back when Jericho clobbers him from behind, nearly sending Bladewolf out of the ring but he halts himself and turns around, ducks an Enziguri from Jericho who gets shoved forward and turns around... INTO A SPEAR FROM BLADEWOLF!
"What a Spear!" Cole exclaimed as Bladewolf hooks the legs. "Now the cover!"
"One!"
"Two!"
"Three! Ring the bell!" The referee called.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"Bladewolf retains the Intercontinental Championship!" Cole said as Dead Silent plays and Trish grabs the title, sliding into the ring to hand it to her boyfriend who hugs it and her close before he kisses her on the lips. "Wow."
"Man." Jerry said with envy.
Bladewolf and Trish break the kiss and Bladewolf throws his arms up before he throws them down, causing lightning to hit the turnbuckles which causes fire to shoot out in response. The couple leave the ring and head up the ramp to the back, Bladewolf putting his title on his right shoulder, and his left arm around Trish's waist...
And that's it for this chapter. I apologize if the match was too short. And I also apologize for the lack of off screen moments and chapters, like I said, i'm not that good at trying to put down a personal normal life.
