WWF Armageddon was live at the Birmingham–Jefferson Civic Center in Birmingham, Alabama. The pay-per-view opened with a six-person intergender tag team elimination match between the Radicalz (Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, and Eddie Guerrero) (with Terri) and Team Xtreme (Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy and Lita). The early stages of the match were dominated by Team Xtreme as Jeff Hardy blocked Guerrero's hurricanrana and then performed his High-Angle Senton, the "Swanton Bomb" on Guerrero for the three-count, eliminating Guerrero. Jeff then executed his Flying Top-Rope Kick, which he calls "Poetry in Motion" on Malenko. However, the momentum began to shift towards the Radicalz when Malenko immediately tagged in Saturn, who promptly eliminated Jeff with a Death Valley driver. Matt then came into the match and blindsided Saturn with a bulldog for a near fall. Matt then attempted a Swinging Neckbreaker, which he calls "Twist of Fate" on Saturn but it was countered into a suplex. Matt tried again and this time nailed it to eliminate Saturn by pinfall. Afterwards, Radicalz manager Terri slapped Matt and Lita speared Terri for her efforts. Malenko took advantage and rolled Matt up from behind for the pin. He wouldn't have long to celebrate though, as Lita performed a headscissors kick on Malenko. She then executed her moonsault, which she calls "Litasault", on Malenko only to have him kick out at two. After taking a subsequent DDT, Malenko superplexed Lita and stopped his own pinfall. He pulled her up from a pin again after a backbreaker, and instead forced Lita to tap to his finisher, the "Texas Cloverleaf".
The next match pitted Hardcore Holly against European Champion William Regal. After cutting Regal's mic work short with his entrance theme, Holly quickly went to work on Regal. After back and forth punches outside the ring, Regal finally got the momentum on his side when he sent Holly into the back of a ring post. When the two came into the ring, Holly replied with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Regal did a superplex on Holly for a two-count as well. Holly took control from that point until late in the bout when Raven interfered and DDTed Holly, thus allowing Regal to take the easy pinfall victory.
The third match saw Chyna take on Val Venis, who was accompanied to the ring by fellow Right To Censor stable member and WWF Women's Champion, Ivory. The early portions of the match were dominated by Chyna until Venis whip tossed her out of the ring and Ivory started attacking her at ringside. The momentum swung back and forth until Ivory became more and more aggressive in interfering on Venis' behalf. She really got into Chyna's head when she tripped her, causing Chyna to chase her until Venis intercepted Chyna and delivered a Fisherman's suplex for the pinfall. Chyna was about to beat up Ivory after the match but Venis once again saved her from Chyna's wrath, powerbombing her.
This was followed by a Last Man Standing match between Kane and Chris Jericho. The match started as Kane attacked Jericho on the aisle and quickly returned him to the backstage area. Mideon was attacked by both men as he was in the way. Kane and Jericho finally made their way to the ring shortly afterwards. The match was a roller-coaster affair, as neither competitor could gain a huge momentum advantage over the other. After connecting with his signature flying clothesline on Jericho, Kane delivered his chokeslam on Jericho. Jericho recovered and low blowed Kane, who was about to hit him with a chair. Jericho had the momentum on his side once more and took advantage with his Top-Rope Moonsault, which Jericho calls "Lionsault", on Kane, who was lying face-down on the chair. Kane took temporary control with a big boot until he dragged Jericho into the tech area. Jericho then knocked a ton of stacked barrels on Kane to keep him down for the 10-second count and the victory.
Next, WWF Tag Team Champions Bull Buchanan and The Godfather of the Right To Censor were challenged by Edge and Christian, Bulletproof (Jackal and Bloodwolf), and the Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley). The Right To Censor started off the match attacking the Dudleys. D-Von responded with a back elbow on Buchanan. After a period of double teaming, Steven Richards, the leader of The Right To Censor, attempted to interfere on his team's behalf and DDTed D-Von just when it looked like the Dudleys had the match won. It didn't go as planned for Richards though, as Edge speared Jackal and Christian nailed the tomakazie on Bloodwolf for the pin and win the tag titles.
Next up was the WWF Intercontinental Championship match.
Chris Benoit's theme hits to boos from the fans and out comes the former WWF Intercontinental Champion who the Bladewolf defeated at SummerSlam to win the title, which he still hold ever since that event. Benoit enters the ring and his theme soon dies down as he waits for his opponent.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
Dead Silent plays to a pop from the fans as smoke fills the stage, the lights dimming to a familiar sinister blood red and dark blue. Trish is standing on the stage in a dark robe, dressed in a black top that gave a great view of her cleavage, wore a black leather skirt that stopped mid-thigh, giving a great view of her long legs and wore a black cowgirl hat, before the Bladewolf walks out, the Intercontinental Championship around his waist, and stands in front of her, facing the ring with a dark glare on his face.
Trish takes the robe off, then walks around him, running a hand seductively across his shoulders as she walks forward to the ring while singing.
"He is time... famine, war... pestilence you cannot endure..." Trish gets in the ring and seductively rubs her body against the ropes as she continues while getting more frantic by the second. "the end is here... the end is here! Fall and Pray! Fall and Pray! Fall and PRAY!"
The lights flash blood red repeatedly as Trish falls to her knees and moves out the way as Bladewolf appears in the ring, unleashing a primal yell as he stands under the flashing red lights while the songs repeats the 'fall and pray' part.
Bladewolf beats his chest in sync with the drum part of the theme and the song slowly ends as Trish slides between Bladewolf's legs and poses on her knees in front of him while her back is pressed against his knees.
The lights go to normal and Trish gets to her feet as Bladewolf takes off his coat followed by his short-sleeved shirt to reveal his ring gear underneath. Bladewolf takes off the Intercontinental Championship, handing it to the referee while Trish gets out the ring to stand at ringside.
The referee holds up the title, showing it's on the line, then hands it to someone at ringside before calling for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Bladewolf and Benoit then lock up and have a test of strength but Benoit gets Bladewolf into a headlock, but the Demon Wolf send shim running into the ropes but Benoit rebounds, comes running back and shoulder blocks Bladewolf which takes the Demon Wolf down onto his back. Benoit rebounds off the ropes, runs across Bladewolf who jumped to his feet, grabs Benoit in a Tilt-A-Whirl, but Benoit managed to reverse it and get Bladewolf into an arm drag which brings Bladewolf down.
Benoit attempts to go for the Crossface but Bladewolf flips Benoit over him but Benoit manages to land on his feet. The crowd gives a round of applause for the sequence between the two wrestlers who circle each other. Benoit rushes at Badewolf but is picked up... AND SPERED INTO THE CORNER!
Bladewolf drives his shoulder repeatedly into Benoit's stomach before he lands some hammering right hands to Benoit's forehead but Benoit lands a kick to bladewolf's stomach and reverses their positions, hipping some chops across the chest of the Bladewolf, then delivers stomps to the stomach and legs of the Demon Wolf.
Bladewolf suddenly stands, grabs Benoit by the neck with both hands and reverses their positions, throwing Benoit into the corner. Bladewolf unloads on Benoit with a series of lefts and rights before he strikes at certain parts on the body, landing a blow to the stomach, then the ribcage, then the side of the head, then one to the forehead before he ducks a clothesline from Benoit who turns around into Bladewolf's own clothesline.
Bladewolf flips his hair out of his face before he grabs Benoit and Irish whips him into the ropes, but Benoit ducks the coming big boot and Bladewolf turns around into a dropkick from Benoit, who goes for the cover.
"One!"
"Two-!"
Bladewolf tossed Benoit off.
Bladewof and Benoit get to their feet, with Benoit grabbing Bladewolf from behind to attempt a German Suplex but Bladewolf blocks it and elbows Benoit in the side of the head, knocking him back but Benoit quickly came back as he goes for a frontal suplex but Bladewolf blocks it again, knees Benoit in the gut before he slips behind Benoit, grabs him and hits a German Suplex across the ring.
Bladewolf grabs Benoit and lifts him onto his shoulder before he runs and hits a running powerslam, hooks the leg but Benoit kicks out at two. Bladewolf gets to his feet, flips his hair back and raises his right arm to cheers from the fans.
Benoit makes it to his feet and turns around... INTO A GOOZLE!
Bladewolf lifts Benoit who gets out of Bladewolf's hold and attempts to lock in the Crossface but Bladewolf escapes and backs off. Benoit runs at Bladewolf who ducks it, rebounds off the ropes... AND TAKES BENOIT DOWN WITH A SPEAR!
Benoit wisely rolls out the ring before Bladewolf can attempt a pinfall. Benoit grabs his title from the timekeeper's area but Bladewolf was on the hunt as he come sup behind Benoit and grabs him, sending him into the barricade then uppercuts Benoit. Bladewolf tosses Benoit into the ring and slides in after him, ducks Benoit's attempted strike with the Intercontinental Championship and comes back... TO NAIL A SECOND SPEAR! BLADEWOLF HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THREE! BLADEWOLF RETAINS!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Dead Silent played as Bladewolf rolls off Benoit and Trish slides into the ring to check on her boyfriend. Trish kisses him while handing him the title and Bladewolf kisses her back before the two leave the ring and head backstage...
And that's it for this chapter everyone. I hope you all enjoyed it. Bladewolf continues to retain his Intercontinental Championship, and could very well be going into 2001 with it.
