SmackDown: 8/2/2001

SmackDown was live at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina. The show began with Vince McMahon coming to the ring, where a lottery tumbler was set up in the middle of the ring. Vince said that in the interest of fairness, he made a match for SmackDown pitting The Rock against the Big Show, with the winner meeting Kurt Angle for the Federation Championship at No Way Out.

Mr. McMahon then said that both Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H had suggested stipulations for their match at No Way Out, and the owner said he had come up with a way to determine the final stipulation. He said that Stone Cold and the Game would stand at ringside on SmackDown! as representatives competed for them. If Austin's representative could defeat Triple H's representative, then Austin would get to choose the stipulation for No Way Out, and vice versa. Mr. McMahon said that the names of all the superstars were in the lottery tumbler, and he asked for a volunteer to objectively choose the representatives for both superstars.

As Mr. McMahon searched the crowd for a volunteer, William Regal sauntered to the ring. Regal selected two names from the tumbler, and Mr. McMahon announced that Stone Cold would be represented by "The One" Billy Gunn, and the Game would be represented by the Bladewolf!

In the McMahon/Helmsley locker room, Triple H complained to his wife about being represented by Bladewolf in the match later in the night when triple H knew full well that the Bladewolf didn't like him and would rather see him be beaten to a bloody pulp.

The first match on SmackDown pitted the Hardy Boyz again Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit of the Radicalz. As the match began, Dean Malenko walked to ringside. Malenko would interject himself into the bout, tossing Jeff Hardy into the ring steps. Dean then threw Jeff back into the ring, where he was easy prey for the Crossface and a Radicalz win.

As Billy Gunn got dressed in his locker room, Triple H walked in and asked him to lie down for the Bladewolf in their match so that the Game would be able to set the stipulation for No Way Out. "The One" refused, and said that starting tonight, he was out for himself. The Game then attacked Billy with a fire extinguisher, knocking him out cold!

Al Snow was out in the ring after Mr. McMahon told him he was late for his match, but there was no opponent to be found - until Rikishi came to the ring, accompanied by Haku! The 400-pounder destroyed Snow, finally pinning him after a devastating sit-down splash. After the match, Haku and Rikishi continued to assault poor Al.

In Mr. McMahon's locker room, the Coach asked Mr. McMahon who would replace Billy Gunn if "The One" were unable to compete. Mr. McMahon said that Triple H would meet the Bladewolf in the ring!

Next up, the Dudley Boyz defended the Tag Team Championship against Edge & Christian. Edge & Christian appeared to have the match and the titles won, until the Undertaker and Kane came to the ring to make sure that didn't happen. Taker interfered in the bout, chokeslamming Edge in retribution for what happened on RAW is WAR, when Edge & Christian cost the Brothers Grim the titles. Kane and Taker then chokeslammed the Dudleyz for good measure.

After the match, an irate Edge & Christian went to Mr. McMahon to complain about Kane & Undertaker costing them the Tag Team Championship. The chairman said that to make things fair, Edge & Christian could host HEAT this Sunday, and they could face Kane & Undertaker on RAW, with the winning team getting a shot at the Dudley Boyz' titles at No Way Out.

In a Hardcore Championship match, Raven defended against Hardcore Holly, accompanied by Molly. Hardcore was able to pin Raven to become Hardcore Champion! As the match ended, Raven's mystery woman headed to the ring where she was headed off by Molly, who tried to unmask her! But thanks to Raven's help, the mystery woman knocked out Molly. The mystery woman then helped Raven to knock out Hardcore Holly and to regain the Hardcore Title, thanks to the 24-7 rule!

The APA, Jacqueline and The Kat were then shown backstage playing strip poker!

Kevin Kelly interviewed Steven Richards about what happened with The Kat on Monday's RAW. Steven said he was a man who made mistakes, but he would never make that mistake again. He said the Kat violated him on RAW. Steven said that yes, we come into the world naked, but we also come into the world innocent, something which he said Kat was not. He said that the Right to Censor would ensure that the Right to Nudity never got off the ground. Steven swore he would fight the World Wrestling Federation and the XFL.

In eight-person tag action, the Right to Censor - represented by Steven, Ivory, Bull Buchanan and the Goodfather - took on the APA, Jacqueline and The Kat. Ivory won the match for her team, pinning Kat with her feet on the ropes.

Jerry Lawler then announced a switcheroo for this Saturday's XFL broadcast on NBC, he will be working with Matt Vasgersian, and Jim Ross would be working with Jesse Ventura!

Next up was the Bladewolf vs Triple H.

In the arena, Triple H's theme hits and out he comes with Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. The power couple make their way down the ring with Triple H entering the ring, Stephanie remaining at ringside as Triple H's theme dies down.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

Dead Silent plays to a pop from the fans as smoke fills the stage, the lights dimming to a familiar sinister blood red and dark blue. Trish is standing on the stage in a dark robe, dressed in a black top that gave a great view of her cleavage, wore a black leather skirt that stopped mid-thigh, giving a great view of her long legs and wore a black cowgirl hat, before the Bladewolf walks out, the Intercontinental Championship around his waist, and stands in front of her, facing the ring with a dark glare on his face.

Trish takes the robe off, then walks around him, running a hand seductively across his shoulders as she walks forward to the ring while singing.

"He is time... famine, war... pestilence you cannot endure..." Trish gets in the ring and seductively rubs her body against the ropes as she continues while getting more frantic by the second. "the end is here... the end is here! Fall and Pray! Fall and Pray! Fall and PRAY!"

The lights flash blood red repeatedly as Trish falls to her knees and moves out the way as Bladewolf appears in the ring, unleashing a primal yell as he stands under the flashing red lights while the songs repeats the 'fall and pray' part.

Bladewolf beats his chest in sync with the drum part of the theme and the song slowly ends as Trish slides between Bladewolf's legs and poses on her knees in front of him while her back is pressed against his knees.

The lights go to normal and Trish gets to her feet as Bladewolf takes off his coat followed by his short-sleeved shirt to reveal his ring gear underneath. Bladewolf takes off the Intercontinental Championship, handing it to Trish who gets out at ringside, Bladewolf does not take his eyes off Triple H in the process.

The two longtime rivals go eye to eye with each other as everyone remembers the rivalry between these two that went from 1999 and into 2000.

The referee gets between the two men who back up into opposite corners and the referee calls for the bell.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Bladewolf uppercuts Triple H, knocking the former WWF Champion down, then floors him with a follow-up clothesline. Triple H stumbles to his feet and gets in the corner where Bladewolf starts furiously hammering away on the man who put him out for nearly two months. Bladewolf stomps on Triple H a few times then backs off before he runs and drives his knee into the face of the former WWF Champion. Bladewolf pulls Triple H to his feet by yanking on his hair, then delivers a hard right into the stomach of Triple H, followed by a left uppercut, then a right elbow to the side of the head.

Bladewolf then holds Triple H close and hits a belly-to-belly suplex, sending triple H rolling out the ring near the announcers' table. Stephanie goes to check on her husband as Bladewolf gets to his feet and walks over, exits the ring which causes Stephanie to back off as Bladewolf grabs Triple H and goes to ram his head off the announce table only for Triple H to reverse it and ram Bladewolf's head off the table instead, bringing the Demon Wolf to a knee. Triple H grabs Bladewolf but the Demon Wolf uppercuts Triple H, knocking him back against the steps.

Bladewolf runs at Triple H who moves out the way and Bladewolf crashes into the steel steps, allowing Triple H to start hammering away on him with hard rights to the forehead. Triple H gets to his feet and brings Bladewolf back into the ring and slides in after him. Triple H gets Bladewolf in the corner and stomps away on him with hard stomps to the stomach.

Earl Hebner gets involved and Triple H gets in his face and argues with the referee. Triple H goes to continue his assault... BUT IS GRABBED BY THE THROAT BY BLADEWOLF!

Triple H lands a fury of lefts and rights which breaks Bladewolf's grip before Triple h runs, rebounds off the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Bladewolf ducks it, grabs Triple h from behind... AND HITS THE DOOMSDAY SAITO SUPLEX! Bladewolf sits up and smirks before getting to his feet as Triple H is trying to recover from the new move.

Bladewolf grabs Triple H and Irish whips him into the corner, runs and nails the turnbuckle clothesline, lifts him up onto his right shoulder before he runs... AND NAILS A RUNNING POWERSLAM! Bladewolf gets to his feet, rebounds off the ropes... AND FINISHES WITH A LEG DROP ACROSS THE THROAT OF TRIPLE H! HE HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THRE-! Triple H kicks out!

Bladewolf flips his hair back after getting to his feet before grabbing triple h who lands a knee to Bladewolf's stomach, then sets up for the Pedigree but Bladewolf throws him over his back. Triple H gets to his feet and turns around only to be lifted up onto Bladewolf's shoulders... AND HIT WITH THE FURY OF THE WOLF! HE HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THREE! THE BLADEWOLF HAS BEATEN TRIPLE H!

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Dead Silent plays as Bladewolf gets to his feet, flipping his hair back and he pulls the straps of his ring attire down to his waist as Trish gets in the ring with his title in hand and hands it to him. Bladewolf leaves the ring with Trish just as Stone Cold Steve Austin's theme hits and the the two men eye each other as they pass one another but Austin continues on his way to the ring...

And that's it for this chapter everyone, hope you enjoyed it.
