RAW is WAR: 12/3/2001
RAW is WAR was live at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. As the show opened, Kurt Angle paced anxiously in the parking area.
RAW kicked off with a Tag Team Title match between the champion Hardy Boyz and challengers Bulletproof. The match was mostly in Bulletproof's control as they kept Jeff from tagging in Matt, but eventually Jeff was able to tag in Matt, and they were able to utilize a double team. At one point, Jeff Hardy was tossed through the ropes and he flew into Lita! Back in the ring, Jackal hit Matt Hardy with the Jackal Bomb to pick up the victory and Bulletproof's 3rd WWF Tag Team Championship.
As Kurt Angle paced out back, Commissioner William Regal drove in. Immediately, Angle told Regal that his first order of business should be to give Kurt a title shot against The Bladewolf! Regal said he would take it into consideration, but that first he would have to address the people!
In the Radicalz dressing room, Eddie Guerrero told Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko that it was now personal between them and Chris Benoit. Saturn and Malenko agreed, saying they wanted to watch him bleed! After Guerrero and Malenko left the room, Benoit attacked Saturn from behind and locked him in the Crossface!
Commissioner William Regal, sporting a black eye he received in his match with Al Snow on SmackDown, came out to the ring to address the people. He vowed to respect the fans and hoped that the fans would do the same for him. Regal said that one thing he would not tolerate was a suckup! He then said he would make his decisions on his own, and announced his first match as commissioner - a title match between The Bladewolf and Kurt Angle! As Regal went on to explain what he would stand for as the commissioner, Chris Jericho's music started!
Jericho came out and said he wanted to congratulate Regal the same way welcomed him into the Federation, and Y2J showed footage of Regal's first night, where Jericho interrupted his tea party! Jericho said he would never dream of besmirching Regal, but he did say he would come out and embarrass Regal every night he could!
Christian entered the ring for a singles match against D-Von Dudley. The winner of the match would win the opportunity for his team to have a shot at the Tag Team Titles. Christian and D-Von battled fiercely, both showing their passion for the Tag Team Titles. After the referee was inadvertently knocked out, Christian went to grab a chair! Buh Buh Dudley ran out and he and D-Von hit Christian with a 3-D! The referee got up and counted the three for D-Von!
Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko walked through the backstage area, saying they needed to be smarter than Benoit, since he had already taken out Perry Saturn! As Malenko turned his back, Benoit attacked him from behind! Guerrero then spotted Benoit, who laughed and said he'd see him in the ring!
In his office, Commissioner Regal told Coach he had made another match - Chris Jericho would face the Right to Censor - all of the Right to Censor!
Michael Cole asked Kurt Angle about his rematch with The Bladewolf later. Angle said it was a crime that he wasn't getting Austin tonight, but he vowed to beat the Bladewolf tonight and take his place at WrestleMania against Austin where he will win back his WWF Championship. Angle promised he would take back what was his, and in the process, he would snap The Bladewolf's ankle! When Cole asked about Debra being at ringside, Angle said that if she got in his way, he would take matters into his own hands!
In a singles match, former friends faced off as Chris Benoit took on Eddie Guerrero. Benoit hammered the chest of Eddie Guerrero with vicious chops, but Guerrero countered with a nice hurricanrana. After Benoit made contact with his flying headbutt, Guerrero nailed Benoit with his frog splash! But, Benoit picked up the win after locking Guerrero with in the Crossface!
ince McMahon, with a rather attractive woman on his arm, walked out to the ring with a huge smile on his face. Mr. McMahon said that the woman, Candice, had a lot in common with many Hollywood starlets, including her long blonde hair, her well-endowed chest, and her willingness to do anything to get ahead in the business. Vince said he didn't force her to do anything, and Candice agreed, saying she would do anything for Mr. McMahon! Vince said that he had been considering some sort of Hollywood sex scene for RAW, so he asked Candice to lie on her back in the ring, and Vince laid down next to her!
Candice then whispered something in Vince's ear, and he stood up and said that Candice had a better idea, one that Vince and Candice had to go to the back to do! As Vince kept talking, his music began playing! Vince demanded that his music stop playing, but soon, Shane McMahon walked out to the stage!
Shane walked down to the ring, and his father, Vince, told him he had better calm down! Mr. McMahon demanded that Shane shake his hand! Shane refused, and then Vince demanded a hug! Shane refused again, and began throwing punches at his father! William Regal ran out to the ring and pulled Shane off of his father, allowing Vince and Candice to run away to the back! After beating the hell out of Regal, Shane chased Vince to the back, but he was too late, as Vince and Candice sped away from the arena in a limo! But Shane did leave the arena to follow Vince!
In a match made by Commissioner Regal, the Right to Censor, Bull Buchanan, Val Venis, Goodfather and Steven Richards took on Chris Jericho. Y2J had a rough match, facing four men alone. But Bull Buchanan misfired once and accidentally hit the Goodfather, who left the ring! As Steven and Bull went to convince the Goodfather to return, Jericho was able to lock Val Venis in the Walls of Jericho! Val escaped, however, and was able to pin Jericho after a powerbomb!
As Kurt Angle prepared for his match against The Bladewolf for the Intercontinental Championship, Stone Cold Steve Austin walked in to his locker room! Austin asked if Angle had a problem with his wife, Angle replied that he didn't, but as Austin walked out, Angle said that he would have a problem with Stone Cold after he beat The Bladewolf for the title later!
Just before the Undertaker was about to go out to the ring for a Hardcore Title match against the Big Show, Triple H attacked him from behind and pushed Taker off his motorcycle! The bike fell on the Undertaker's leg, trapping him and leaving him prone to Triple H's attacks! As the Game was about to smack Taker with a steel chair, Kane ran out and chased him off! Kane returned to help his brother get the bike off his leg, but the Big Show ran in and attacked Kane, bouncing his head off a concrete wall! Kane was taken out and Undertaker screamed in pain as the bike still was on top of his leg!
Bladewolf was shown in his locker room, lacing up his boots when he heard the door open and the camera panned to reveal Stone Cold Steve Austin who got a loud pop from the crowd.
"What do you want?" Bladewolf demanded as he stood, the two WrestleMania opponents eye to eye.
"Just so we understand each other, I had a little talk with Kurt Angle." Austin said. "And if something happens to Debra, I'm gonna whip his ass. And just so you know, I'll whip your ass too."
Bladewolf smirked. "Takes a lot of guts to come in here, come up to my face and says those words. But let me give you a word of advice, no... a warning. Anything happens to Trish at all while she's managing you, or you harm her yourself... the hell that I've been though will be nothing compared to the hell that I'm gonna put you through. If she is harmed in any way because of you... then you won't be alive to make it to WrestleMania."
The two rivals stared each other down before Austin left with Bladewolf staring after him with a glare in his dark brown eyes.
Next up was the Main Event!
In the arena, Kurt Angle's theme hits to boos and out comes the former WWF Champion as the crowd sings 'You Suck' in tune with his theme song. Angle does his pyro then continues on his way to the ring.
"The following contest is scheduled for one-fall and is for the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Championship!" Lillian Garcia announced. "Introducing the challenger, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, weighing 237 lbs... KURT ANGLE!"
"WrestleMania is 20 days away, and Kurt Angle has the chance tonight, thanks to new WWF Commissioner William Regal, to challenge the Bladewolf for the Intercontinental Championship and if Angle wins, he'll be facing Austin at WrestleMania." JR said as Angle's theme dies down.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
'Oh, ah, ah, ah, ah! Get up, come on get down with the sickness!'
Down with the Sickness by Disturbed played to a loud pop from the fans and out comes the Bladewolf under normal lightning with Debra at his side, the WWF Intercontinental Championship around his waist. Bladewolf glances at Debra before he walks on down to the ring with Debra following him.
"And their opponent, being accompanied by Debra, from Death Valley, weighing 310 lbs, he is the World Wreatling Federation Intercontinental Champion... THE BLADEWOLF!" Tony Chimel announced.
Bladewolf gets onto the ring apron and step into the ring over the top rope but holds the ropes open for Debra to enter the ring without taking his eyes off Kurt Angle. Bladewolf takes off his Intercontinental Championship as his theme dies down, and he hands the title to the referee as Debra gets out at ringside, clapping for the Bladewolf, as the referee holds the title up. showing it's on the line, then hands it to someone at ringside before he calls for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"And here we go." JR said. "Kurt Angle may have found himself in a tough match considering the man he's facing."
"Kurt Angle has faced the Undertaker and won, he can handle Bladewolf." Heyman said.
Angle and Bladewolf go eye to eye before Angle tries to land a right but Bladewolf ducks a lands a fury of right hands to the forehead of Angle before he ducks behind Angle, grabs him from behind and huits a release German Suplex.
"Wow!" Heyman exclaimed.
"Release German Suplex by the Bladewolf!" JR added.
Angle stumbles to a knee but Bladewolf grabs him and drives his knee into Angle's ribs several times before bringing a forearm down across the back of the Olympic Gold Medallist. Bladewolf then clobbers Angle over the head, sending him down onto his front. Bladewolf delivers a few stomps to Angle before he grabs Angle by his ankle and gives it a kick.
"Bladewolf with a kick to that ankle." JR noted. "He most likely heard Angle's intent to break his ankle."
"And Bladewolf is not one to take that lying down." Heyman nodded.
Bladewolf grabs Angle who lands a right hand, causing bladewolf to take a step back but then he kicks Angle in the gut... AND NAILS A QUICK DDT OUT OF NOWHERE!
"What a DDT!" JR exclaimed.
Bladewolf hooks the leg. "One!"
"That's it! Leg hooked!" JR shouted
"Two!"
"Thr-!"
Angle kicks out at two and rolls out the ring as Bladewolf flips his hair back and adjusts his elbow pads and the straps of his attire before watching as Angle rolls out the ring and starts walking up the ramp to boos from the fans.
"Where's he going?" JR asked.
Bladewolf exits the ring and runs after Angle who turns around right into a hard clothesline that knocks him down hard. Bladewolf stomps on Angle several times before picking him up and brings him back to ringside where he Irish whips Angle into the barricade, then walks over and unloads with a fury of lefts and rights, hammering away on Angle's head before he grabs Angle and rams his head off the barricade.
"This is when the Bladewolf gets dangerous." JR said. "When he's got control of the match, when he's not giving his opponents a chance to fight back. He's a monster that enjoys causing pain to others."
"Well, he's human if he walks around with a lady like Trish or Debra." Heyman pointed out. "Not that I blame him."
Bladewolf takes a few steps away from Angle before he runs but Angle surprises him with a tackle to the floor and lands several lefts and rights, forcing Bladewolf to cover up from the strikes.
"Now Angle! Angle with some lefts and rights!" JR said.
Angle gets to his feet and spots a chair nearby which he grabs as Bladewolf gets to his feet and turns around... INTO A CHAIR SHOT RIGHT OFF THE SKULL!
"Oh God!" JR exclaimed.
"bam!" Heyman shouted. "What a shot!"
"Right to the skull!" JR nodded before seeing the referee had been distracted keeping Debra back because she had gotten too close, so the referee didn't see the chair shot. "Referee was distracted keeping Debra back so he didn't see it."
Angle tossed the chair out of sight and grabbed Bladewolf and lands a hard right that knocks Bladewolf back, causing him to lean on the barricade but Angle came up from behind and delivered a kick to Bladewolf's right angle, then delivered a stomp to it, causing Bladewolf to yell out in pain as he clutched his ankle but Angle kept up the assault.
"Angle attacking the ankle, he's trying to get that ready for the ankle lock." JR said.
Angle tosses Bladewolf back into the ring and slides in after him, going straight for the ankle again but Bladewolf manages to kick him off and jump to his feet... AND NAILS ANGLE WITH A SPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE!
"What a spear!" JR exclaimed
"You can't let your guard down around this guy!" Heyman said. "You gotta expect everything he throws at you!
Bladewolf rolls off Angle and sits up, getting to his feet. He pulls the straps of his attire down to his waist and adjusts his elbow pads, before he raises his right hand, signalling a Chokeslam.
"The arm raising can only mean one thing, a Chokeslam is looming!" Heyman said. "And it's looming for Kurt Angle!"
Angle stumbles to his feet and turns around... INTO A GOOZLE!
"He's caught him!" JR said.
Bladewolf lifts Angle up, but Angle jumps out of Bladewolf's hold, kicks his right ankle... AND LOCKS IN THE ANKLE LOCK!
"Ankle lock!" JR exclaimed. "Angle's got the ankle lock on Bladewolf!"
"He's gonna break the ankle!" Heyman said as Bladewolf writhed in pain and reached for the ropes.
Bladewolf raises his hand... AND GRABS THE ROPES! BUT ANGLE REFUSES TO LET GO!
the referee warns Angle of this but Angle still refuses to release. the referee starts counting "1!...2!...3!...4!...5! Ring the bell!" The referee called.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"Angle's refusing to release the ankle! He wants to break the Bladewof's ankle!" JR shouted.
Debra gets in the ring to help but Angle shoves her down... AND LOCKS HER IN THE ANKLE LOCK!
"Angle's gonna break Debra's ankle for God's sakes!" JR shouted.
The crowd cheered when Austin came running down the ramp and slides into the ring, attacking Angle furiously before he tosses Angle out of the ring.
"You never ever put your hands on another's man wife!" Heyman said. "Austin warned him! He warned Angle!"
Austin sees Bladewolf getting to his feet, walks over as he turns around, kick him in the stomach... AND HITS THE STONE COLD STUNNER ON THE BLADEWOLF!
"Austin with a Stunner on the Bladewolf!" JR said as Austin's theme plays and the Rattlesnake leaves the ring.
"Austin warned him that if anything ever happened to Debra it would be the Bladewolf's ass." Heyman reminded.
Bladewolf sits up in the ring, glaring after Austin with a look that could freeze the fires of hell as RAW goes off the air...
