SmackDown: 10/5/2001

SmackDown was live at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut. As the May 10 episode of SmackDown! kicked off from the Hartford Civic Center in Connecticut, Chris Jericho battled Christian. Edge accompanied his brother to the ring, so just as the match was set to begin, Chris Benoit strolled to ringside to even the odds. After Edge tripped up Jericho as Y2J went for the Lionsault, Benoit attacked Edge, and the two went at it at ringside. In the melee, Christian tossed Y2J into Edge, and Christian then rolled Jericho up for the pinfall!

Backstagem the Bladewolf was shown arriving at the arena entering through the entrance when vince walked up to him.

"What do you want now?" Bladewolf asked with annoyance.

"Woah now, I'm not here to cause trouble." Vince reassured him, to which Bladewolf scoffed at. "Where's Trish?"

"Not that it's any of your business, but she's not here." Bladewolf said. "Now you better hurry up and say what you came to say while I still have the patience."

"Alright, I just want to tell you that Stone Cold Steve Austin is already here tonight." Vince said as Bladewolf hummed and slowly nodded. "So now that you've had the time to cool off, I want you to know, if there's any physicality between you and Austin before Hell in a Cell at Judgment Day, it could place your title match in serious jeopardy. I just want to make that clear, I just want to know... are you cool?"

Bladewolf inhaled then exhaled before he nodded. "Yeah... I'm cool."

With that, he walked past Vince who looked a little skeptical at Bladewolf's words.

After their paths crossed last Thursday on SmackDown! and last Monday on RAW IS WAR, Raven took on Albert in a one-on-one battle. X-Pac and Justin Credible of X-Factor provided color commentary for the bout.

The monstrous Albert defeated Raven following a Baldobomb.

Stone Cold Steve Austin's locker room was shown before the camera panned to reveal the Bladewolf standing outside it with his baseball bat in hand. Bladeowlf smirked before he barged into the locker room.

"Austin!" Bladewolf yelled as he searched the empty locker room. "Where are you, boy? We have a few things to talk about! Austin!" Bladewolf looks the locker room over and hums to himself as he looks down at the WWF Championship and picks it up before he puts it on his shoulder and takes a seat, leaning back. "Alright then, Austin, I'll wait... just wait for you to come to me..."

Moments later, Stone Cold was seen in Mr. McMahon's locker room, yelling at McMahon and Debra that Bladewolf had no right being in his locker room. Austin said that if it wasn't for Bladewolf's baseball bat, he would go in and get his stuff. Mr. McMahon promised to think of something.

Spike Dudley and Molly Holly walked backstage, and Molly told Spike how impressed she was when he put Albert through a table on RAW. Crash approached the two, and he didn't seem happy that Spike was talking to his cousin! Crash challenged Spike to meet him in the ring later in the night on SmackDown.

The Bladewolf was shown in Austin's locker room, currently going through his stuff and tossing anything uninteresting aside when there was a knock on the door. "it's open!" Bladewolf called and the door opened as a delivery man came in with a box of beer cans.

"I'm supposed to deliver this to Stone Cold's locker room." the man said when he spotted the Bladewolf.

"Yeah, you found the right place." Bladewolf nodded as he stood and took the beer cans. "I'll hold onto these for Austin, be the good friend that I am. You run along, I'll make sure Austin gets these." he watches the man leave before putting the box down and takes a can, opening it and taking a sip while staring at the WWF Championship.

Coach interviewed Triple H backstage, and the Game said that his business relationship with Rikishi was now officially over. Triple H said that no one puts his hands on Stephanie.

Coach then reminded the Game that Rikishi hadn't put his hands on Stephanie - and the Game chased Coach away, irate that Coach had brought up the Stink Face!

In six-person tag action, the Hardy Boyz and Lita took on the Goodfather, Bull Buchanan, and Ivory of the Right to Censor. The Right to Censor did not have Steven Richards at ringside, as the group is apparently looking for a new leader! As the match got underway, Eddie Guerrero strolled out to the stage, and moments later, he tripped up Bull, allowing Matt to hit the Twist of Fate and pinfall.

In Mr. McMahon's locker room, the Federation chairman suggested to Stone Cold that there was only one person who could safely go into the Rattlesnake's locker room and get his stuff - Debra! Stone Cold said that was the best idea he'd heard all day, and he told his wife to go to his locker room and get his stuff.

Bladewolf was still drinking Austin's beer when Debra walks into the locker room, causing him to lower his arm with a look of surprise befor ehe sighed and shook his head.

"Bald-headed bastard got no guts to come himself?" Bladewolf muttered to himself as he stood, chewing something and looked at Debra. "What do you want?"

"I'm going to ask you once and I'm going to ask you politely, please leave my husband's dressing you." Debra said rather politely.

Bladewolf sighed and ran a hand through his long hair as he chewed something before he scoffed... THEN SPAT CHEWING TOBACOO ON DEBRA'S BLOUSE!

"There's my answer. Now run along to your husband and tell him to come here and force me out himself." Bladewolf said and chuckled as he watched Debra leave before he sat back down and leaned back with a sigh.

Looking to gain a measure of revenge after Rikishi gave Stephanie a Stink Face on RAW, Triple H took on the 400-pounder on SmackDown! Prior to the bout, Stephanie said that Rikishi had made her look ridiculous on RAW, and a woman in her position couldn't afford to look ridiculous. She promised that Triple H would make Rikishi look ridiculous on SmackDown!

Rikishi laughed at the Billion-Dollar Princess as he walked to the ring.

With Rikishi prone, Triple H held the 400-pounder so that Stephanie could slap him. Moments later, Test ran to the ring to attack Triple H, and Big Show followed soon after to assault Test. A melee ensued, and it looked like Rikishi was going to give Stephanie another Stink Face! But Rikishi became sidetracked with the Big Show, and Triple H saved his wife. Rikishi still got to back that ass up, though - after a savate kick and an avalanche, the Big Show was easy prey for the Stink Face! Test and Rikishi just laughed as an irate Big Show left the ring!

An incensed Debra told Stone Cold and Mr. McMahon how the Bladewolf had spat tobacco all over her, and Austin told McMahon that sending her in was the dumbest idea he's ever heard! Mr. McMahon said he had another idea - a superstar in mind who could get Bladewolf out of the locker room.

In the parking area, Stephanie and Triple H got into a limo and left the arena - Stephanie said she was absolutely petrified of getting another Stink Face.

In a grudge match set up earlier in the evening, Spike Dudley took on Crash Holly. Bubba Ray and D-Von accompanied Spike to the ring, while Hardcore and Molly Holly were behind Crash. Spike would pick up the win, surprising Crash with a roll-up. Crash was livid after the match, as Spike's win seemed to come from nowhere!

Mr. McMahon walked back into his locker room with Commissioner William Regal.

McMahon and Austin tried to convince Regal to get Bladewolf out of Austin's locker room, and it seemed that Regal didn't want to! Finally, Mr. McMahon convinced Regal that Bladewolf would listen to reason, and Regal agreed to try and talk to the Demon Wolf

Moments later, Regal was about to knock on the door to Austin's locker room, but he kept stopping himself from doing so.

Next up, Edge took on Chris Benoit, and the sides were even once again - Edge was seconded by Christian, and Benoit was seconded by Jericho. The referee was soon knocked out, so there was no one to see Edge tap out to Benoit's Crossface. In fact, at the same time that was happening in the ring, Jericho had Christian locked in the Walls of Jericho on the entranceway! Taking advantage of the situation, Kurt Angle attacked Benoit, nailing him with an Olympic slam. Three seconds later, Edge had pinned Benoit, and E&C had gone 2-0 on the night!

Bladewolf was seen checking out one of Austin's shirts when regal walked in and Bladewolf groaned, tossing the shirt aside. "When will it end with the useless ones being sent?" Bladewolf asked as he stood. "What do you want?"

"I came here to inform you that you are trespassing." Regal said. "You are trespassing in Stone Cold-"

"Regal, I go where I want and do whatever I want." Bladewolf said with a serious glare on his face.

"Do whatever you want? Who the bloody hell do you think you are?!" Regal spat with disgust as Bladewolf raised an eyebrow. "You take over Steve Austin's locker room, you spit tobacco juice on Miss. Debra's blouse, what kind of a man are you?!"

"The kind that don't give a crap about what anyone thinks of him." Bladewolf said with a glare as he backed Regal into the wall. "So you better check your tone when you talk to me or else I'm going to dish out an example of what's in store for Austin at Judgment Day when he enters that cell with me. Am I udnerstood?"

Regal nodded nervously. "Y-Yes sir."

"Good." Bladewolf took a step back and picked up some tobacco juice and looked at it before he looked at Regal... AND POURS IT ALL OVER REGAL! Bladewolf gestured to the door and Regal walked out as Bladewolf chuckled and sat back down, shaking his head.

Lilian Garcia interviewed Rhyno about his Hardcore Title defense against Bradshaw on SmackDown. Rhyno said he was a hardcore man in a hardcore world, and he promised to defeat the tough Texan.

Bladewolf was shown in Austin's locker room again, drinking anothr can of beer while staring at the WWF Championship. He then sighed before he crushed the can in his hand then threw it into the wall, stood and tossed the chair into the wall, took his bat and started smashing up every wooden thing in Austin's locker room, smashing up anything aside from Austin's titles.

Bladewolf took a deep breath once he was done before he picked up Austin's vest and looked it over before he scoffed and tossed it over his shoulder, then picked up Austin's WWF title before he leaves.

In a bout for the Hardcore Championship, Rhyno defended against Bradshaw. The wicked, brutal encounter ended in the backstage area, when Big Show chokeslammed Bradshaw through a platform onto the concrete floor, allowing Rhyno to score the pin and retain his title.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

'Oh, ah, ah, ah, ah! Get up, come on get down with the sickness!'

Down with the Sickness by Disturbed played to a loud pop from the fans and out comes the Bladewolf with his baseball bat in hand, and Austin's WWF title in the other hand. Bladewolf makes his way down towards the ring and rolls in, raising the WWF Championship to cheers from the crowd before he puts the title on his shoulder as his theme dies down and he grabs a microphone after dropping the baseball bat.

"This whole night hasn't been about Judgment Day, it hasn't been about Hell ina Cell, it hasn't been about the WWF title, althought I must say..." He looks at the title. "It looks damn good to see it on me again." the crowd cheered in agreement. "Tonight was all about Austin showing me if he had a set, I waited in his locker room and he didn't show up. So I'm had enough, I[m out here, waiting, and I want Austin to come out here so I can kick his damn ass."

Bladewolf paced back and fourth as he waited to see if Austin will come out, but Vince McMahon's theme hits to boos and out comes Vince as Bladewolf shakes his head and holds the WWF Championship in his hand.

"You know something, Bladewolf, I asked you whether or not you had cooled off." Vince said. "I asked if you and Stone Cold could co-exist in the same building with ny physical contact between you two before Judgment Day, and you said 'we're cool'. Clearly, that was a lie from you. I don't think you're very coo and I don't think any of these people are very cool either. As for what kind of a man Stone Cold Steve Austin is, he is at least twice the man you'll ever be. Austin wouldn't be coming out here with a lethal weapon in ahnd, Austin would call you out like a REAL man! So if you are a real man, why don't you kick that baseball bat out of the ring?"

"Is that what it's going to take?" Bladewolf asked. "If that what it'll take for his ass to come out here?" bladewolf picked up his baseball bat and walked over the ropes and dropped the bat outside. "There, no bat."

"You are forgetting one thing." Vince said and pointed at the WWF Championship. "that. You have used that title as a weapon before and I want you to get rid of it."

Bladewolf shrugs and tosses the title out the ring. "There. Now, it's just me waiting for Austin, so get him out here."

"That's what you want?" Vince asks as he walks around the ring and takes some steel chairs, tossing them aside. "That's what you want? That's what all you people want?! Do you know what's going to happen?! The Bladewolf is going to get his ass kicked!"

Stone Cold Steve Austin's theme hits and out comes the Texas rattlesnake who starts making his way towards the ring before breaking into a sprint, slides into the ring... AND HE AND BLADEWOLF GO AT IT!

The Bladewolf and Austin exchange blows with each other until Bladewolf tackles Austin down and starts hammering away on him before Bladewolf gets to his feet and keeps knocking Austin down with right hands to the skull. Bladeowlf then tackles Austin into the corner and hammers away on him with lefts and rights to the stomach then to the head.

Vince comes up from behind, steel chair in hand... AND SMACKS BLADEWOLF IN THE BACK!

Bladewolf straightens up and turns around with no effect from the chair. Vince goes wide eyed as Bladewolf walks towards him. Vince tries another chair shot... BUT BLADEWOLF GRABS HIM BY THE THROAT! Bladewolf lifts him up... AND PLANTS VINCE WITH A CHOKESLAM!

Austin clobbers Bladewolf from behind, getting Bladewolf in the corner where Austin attacks, stomping away on the Demon Wolf. Austin then grabs a steel chair and shouts down at Bladewolf, bad mouthing him before he raises the chair... THEN THE UNDERTAKER'S THEME PLAYS!

The crowd comes unglued as the pyro explodes and... THE UNDERTAKER AND KANE WALK OUT! THE UNDERTAKER AND KANE ARE BACK! The two older brothers of the Bladewolf start making their way down to the ring as Austin is shocked.

As Undertaker and Kane get closer, Austin rolls out the ring and tries to attack but gets a double big boot from Kane and Undertaker, causing Austin to drop the chair. Austin crawls away from them when a pair of boots drop down in front of him and Austin freezes before he looks up the legs and looks straight into the smirking face of the Bladewolf.

Austin slowly stands and realizes he's now trapped by the Brothers of Destruction, and Bladewolf uppercuts him, sending him stumbling to the Undertaker who delivers a right hand to his jaw, sending him into Kane who knocks him down with an uppercut. Austin leans on the ring post as Bladewolf picks up the steel chair and gives it a few practice swings before he looks at Austin, swings... BUT AUSTIN DUCKED THE CHAIR IN TIME!

Bladewolf follows Austin with the chair in hand and tries to smack him but hits the steel steps instead. Austin soon finds himself trapped with Bladewolf on one side, Kane on the other, and the Undertaker standing in the ring, leaning on the ropes and watching with a smirk.

Seeing he was trapped and had nowhere to go, Austin ducks into the crowd and escapes through there. Bladewolf's theme plays as Bladewolf drops the chair, picks up his baseball bat and raises it before he rolls into the ring with his brothers and they hold their arms up in unison.

The brothers then leave the ring and head up the ramp where they stand together, facing the entrance, bow their heads, before they raise their right arms up together then go backstage as SmackDown goes off the air...

I just love the 2001 version of the Brothers of Destruction. it's fun to write out their storylines in 2001.
