Addendum for : The RP campaign that began in the real world year of 1997 (and allowed anyone to play any character from any reality) ended in 2016, so that some of the souls could come back to try again, in the Dog and Spider Private Investigations novels written by yours truly. It can be found at www dot dogandspider dot com. (Silly uRL filter) A quick rundown of earlier characters and what happened: The Sailor Scouts were, one after the other, murdered by various forces until only Rei Hino was left. She retired to run a Shinto shrine in the new Tokyo.
Usagi and Ranma got married, and that eventually led to how he became the Emperor of Japan. M. bison of the Street Fighter series killed her.
The Drow, Linnea? She and the other Crystal Knights briefly served the new Empire of Japan, until Linnea fell to the essential "dark side" and began her own house. She later was killed in a standoff with a Dragon-Drowess named Karthwine that showed up later, and essentially took over Shanna's role in Ranma's life.
Shanna herself got the flint stake to the heart by, of all people, Miles Edgeworth from the Ace Attorney series.
Tina became the highest ranked military officer in Japan… and eventually faded out of her Ran-Chan's life.
Rose, freed of her control, essentially retired to become a sort of universal mother to anyone who needed her. She probably knitted hundreds of thousands of things in her long lifespan.
Rock hooked up with Laura Kinney/X-23/the second Wolverine. I think I actually mention that below.
And now? On to the conclusion of that world, and how it leads into the Dog and Spider novels, of which I am presently writing book 5.
Dramatis Personae (well, some of em anyway)-
Karolina Dean, an alien princess. Super granola lesbian.
Nico Minoru - a witch who is basically straight, object of Karolina's affections.
Jonathan Drew, Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew)'s father. The cause of all the gateways being opened between the main campaign world and an amalgam Marvel/DC universe.
Ranma Saotome - From Ranma ½. Attracts lots of girlfriends. Clueless as to how to deal with that as he is unable to refuse love. Splash him with water and he turns into a she! Somehow bumblefucked his way to becoming the Emperor of Japan. And Santa Claus.
Maria Saotome - Ranma's daughter by way of a daemon
Raoul Delacroix - Maria's uncle.
Karthwine - Dragon drow. Huge lesbo who also loves Ranma.
Vanessa - King of Fighters. Threeway love with Karthwine and Ranma
Mary Jane Watson - Used to be Peter Parker's wife, dumped him when he started fucking Cindy Moon (Silk, marvel comics). Ended up in love with Ranma and Karthwine.
Ruxandra Tepes-Saotome - Empress of Japan. Ranma's legal wife. Loli vampire, think Mina Tepes (Dance in the Vampire Bund)
Jessica Drew (later Saotome) - Originally Ranma and her disliked one another. What could best be described as a hate-fuck softened their attitudes towards each other. Was brainwashed and fucked Luke Cage (Power Man from marvel) under that mind control. When she offered to submit to a magical artifact that proved she was not lying, and did not cheat, Ranma said three simple words "I believe you". Nobody of the opposite gender really trusted her before. Those three words led, ultimately, to Jessica and another Jessica becoming the ones Ranma settled down with, nursing his heart and showing him that he did not have to love and try to save every woman that glanced at him.
Jessica Jones - Killed Luke Cage's wife and then later.. Well.. became Luke Cage's wife (watch the Netflix series). Luke Cage banged Jessica Drew. At first Jessica Jones thought that Drew (well Saotome at this point) was abusing her pheromones to sleep with Luke. Luke Cage was killed by a friend of Jessica Drew-Saotome's because video evidence showed Luke figured out Drew was being controlled, but fucked her anyway. That's rape. After he was killed, clones of him began showing up and all were obsessed with the idea of having two Jessica in his life. It came to the point where Jones just watched with clinical detachment clone after clone of Luke being killed. A horrible incident occurred in which her nemesis Kilgrave returns, mind controls Ranma into female form, and rapes her repeatedly for months even though both Jessica tried to set Ranma free. This caused Ranma and Jessica Drew's son Genma to be as fatherless as Jones' daughter Danielle was. The mothers banded together to try and rescue Ranma; becoming friends and, ultimately, Jones fell in love with both Ranma AND the other Jessica. And so they formed a family, two Jessica, Ranma, Ranma's son Genma and Luke Cage's daughter Danielle.
Nadoka Kilgrave - The aborted child of Ranma and Zebediah Kilgrave
Mynx - originally an illusory character created by Karthwine to shut up some noisy kids she was trying to rescue; Mynx became a sentient cartoon in her own right. Even though Karthwine often unsummoned Mynx, it did not matter. Inside of Karthwine or out, Mynx constantly chattered with Karthwine. Host of a popular kid's TV programming block.
The Shepard "Sisters", 6 women identical in the face, from different realities, with very similar back stories.
Cynthia Shepard - Commander Shepard from Mass Effect
Rafaela Shepard - Raffy comes from the Praetorian dimension of "City of Heroes". Ended up married to Peter Parker after he fucked up and lost Mary Jane.
Lara Shepard - Essentially Lara Croft, but from a reality where dinosaurs run rampant.
Syndra Shepard - League of Legends
Kara Shepard - Power Girl! (DC comics)
Vi Shepard - also from the League of Legends world? Not exactly. She's actually a villainous clone, though the heroic Shepard DNA is too much to be overcome. She's wrong about her name, that VI stands for 6; as she is an artificial attempt to create a sixth "Shepard". Despite being a periphery friend of Ranma's she loved him hard. She was not overblown but stayed in his life.
Jack - Mass Effect. Came to this world with Cynthia Shepard
Johnny Cage - Cynthia Shepard's actual father. It's complicated.
Merriem Drew - Spider Woman's mother, one of the heads of HYDRA. Falls in love with daughter's husband, and stops trying to get her daughter back into HYDRA. Becomes a double agent to fight against HYDRA
Logan - The wolverine!
Jubilee - former mutant now vampire. Got knocked up by Ranma but the baby was going to be an abomination, so she fled. Killed the baby when it was born, was cast out of the Empire because it seemed she cheated on Ranma. She didn't, but it worked out fine because Jubilee knew that Ranma would never consent to the slaughter of their child on birth.
Donna Saotome - Ranma's daughter with Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. She was the child resulting from a one night stand on a planet filled with Xenomorphs (think the movie aliens).
Takato Saotome - Ranma's daughter with Psylocke. That guy sure got a lot of pussy.
Ranma ended up with a coven of witches, whom he mostly had nothing to do with though he would protect and support them. The only exception was Nico Minoru, whom was a lover.
The rest are probably ones you can figure out by looking up on your own. Most of the people (including Luke Cage) were not NPC's but played by real people.
Karolina Dean returns with the head of Jonathan Drew. She is far too radiated to be repaired, and her soul cannot be extracted, or caught easily. In pain and with her body falling apart, she requests they stop trying to save her, and let her go in peace. After finally making love with Nico, she finally releases her grip on life, tears only of joy. Her consciousness reenters the matrix from whence she came; her body is buried with hero's honors.
As Mr. Drew was the one behind first opening the tunnels between the two realities; his death closes those tunnels. This act, unfortunately, closes the Shepards on the other side. After several months of study, it becomes clear there is no going back, ever. They do not have a fix on what dimension they came from. They could well spend forever travelling from reality to reality and never find home. This is what Kara does.
Lara travels the world, doing as a Tomb Raider does. She does fuck people now and again, but never does settle down.
Vi kills herself days after the finality of their separation from Ranma settles in.
Barbara Gordon immerses herself in the Oracle role for 5 years, and seems healthy and happy, She is found dead of a very intentional morphine overdose, surrounded by letters she wrote to her boyfriend on the other side that could never be delivered. The letters are gathered and published, and become a legendary book of love and loss.
Syndra almost succumbs to darkness, but in the end Cynthia pulls her through to the side of good. She eventually marries Sharon Carter.
Raffy becomes Rafaela Parker, and they retire eventually from heroics to the "gadget supply" side of the eternal struggle of good against evil.
Jack never breaks, emotionally or physically. She dies bringing down HYDRA once and for all, a decade later, after a hell of a final fight with a now much enhanced Nick Fury. (Fury ended up the leader of HYDRA)
Never again able to reach either Jessica, the Luke Cage clones become, one after the next, the same sort of useless punk scumbag he began his life as before he became a hero. Several heroes have runins with Luke Cages over the next decade. When HYDRA falls, Cage clones stop coming too.
With no dimensional link to Jessica Drew-Saotome, Morgan le Fay can never bother her again. Her legacy is only Jessica remembering the night she was screaming and kicking and trying to take control of her body again so she wouldn't "cheat" and fuck Luke Cage.
Logan outlives both of his wives (Jean and Mariko), and wanders the world not the angry Old Man Logan of yore, but instead a gentle, loving man who teaches worthy soul after worthy soul for hundreds of years to become heroes, until he finally dies, returning to the patient arms of his wives in Elysium.
20 years later, Cynthia remains faithful, her father (now the master of the Mortal Kombat tourney and a very old man himself) invites her to one last "Tournament of Legends", where she finally meets Ranma again. They cannot leave together, but they can spend time together at the tournament. Johnny helpfully makes the two of them judges at the competition, and for three days a month until Ranma or Cynthia die; they love.
Harley Quinn, separated from her lover (one of the other PCs, he played as Daredevil. DD was on the other side of the gates when Jonathan Drew died, closing them forever)) briefly falls under The Joker, but she shakes him off and kills the both of them.
Jubilee never loves again. One day she simply sits on her son's grave, reading him her favorite childhood book; and when the sun comes up she does not take measures to protect herself. She is burned away, but the area shows neither signs of pain nor struggle.
Meanwhile, on the other side:
Free of direct ridiculousness, the Empire begins to expand. Eventually, the final stumbling block is the Batterwitch. She is defeated, after a long campaign against her mindless drones; in a magic battle with Karthwine. The Empire eventually unites the world under one flag, and while there are still problems here and there, Ruxandra is a benevolent ruler until she retires into her grave, not to awaken until Ranma calls for her soul.
Susan Storm and Donna Saotome become the Empress and Empress next in line. Ranma fathers a child with Susan solely to reinforce the bloodline/claim to the throne and give them a true heir. The Amazonian tenets of love hold true for literally millennia, and the world remains at relative peace. (And "Dueling Banjos" plays softly in the background, because Donna raised a half brother as a son, lol)
Vanessa remains at Karthwine's side, and through magic and love, they also find a way to eventually have a child. After much time has passed, Vanessa tires of life; and simply.. passes
onto whatever awaits her.
Regardless of how and when Karthwine ended, Mynx lives on and, aside from moments of true sadness missing Karthwine and Ranma, she spends until this reality ends entertaining children. When it does? She becomes Laughter.
Mary Jane Watson becomes a doctor. She spends the rest of her life travelling between Ranma and Karthwine, staying with one until she misses the other too badly… and taking that one with her for a visit each time she stays with the other.
Diana spends the rest of her days ruling the Amazons with a just mind, a hand slow to anger and a heart quick to forgive.
Ranma's coven, except for Nico who stays with Ranma forever… become Taka's coven. The first entirely lesbian coven ruled over by a homosexual mail.
Gambit and Rogue grow old together and die, never leaving company with Ranma, nor specifically choosing each other over it. They simply end as they began… holding hands on a mountain.
(Yes, Gambit fucked Ranma a lot. In male and female forms)
Ranma, sensing that Ruxandra will usher in a new era of peace for mankind, realizes his life's work is finally done. After a few years of costumed crimefighting, he is asked by Don Quijote ( a popular chain of stores in Japan) to open a new location wherever he wishes, and run it forever if he so chooses. After much discussion, he chooses the South African town nearest the island where Jessica Drew was born in the other reality. They set up their love nest on that very island, at the foot of Wundagore mountain itself. Kamala Khan, Gwen Stacey, Jennifer Walters, Molly Hayes, Jessica Jones (obviously), Laura Kinney, Patsy Walker, and Anya Corazon accompany them.
Genma Saotome grows up to become a master concert pianist and composer (and the secret identity of the next generation's Spider-Man). He is remembered forever for his body of work.. including one small opera about Ranma and Jessica, which oddly seems to take place in some other reality against some villain named Kefka. Though Jessica Jones never forgives Luke Cage; ultimately Danielle does. Genma and Danielle marry later, becoming Spider-Man and Power Woman among a new generation of heroes.
Maria, the lusty Daemon daughter takes after her father's footsteps. She becomes Santa Claus, and brings sexy back to Christmas in a big way.
Ranma eventually decides he would like to grow old with Jessica Saotome, and die with her. He actually dies first in his early 70s during a bout of kinky sex with Jessica Jones, leaving both Jessica alone for some time. Jones dies a few years before Jessica Drew-Saotome.
Molly, Jennifer and Patsy follow suit as well, deciding to grow old working in their professions in Africa. Kamala works patiently, turning Muslim adherents into worshippers of the sun, as well as creating a new sect OF the Sun's worship that respects much of what is in the Quran, and shows what else in it is dangerous folly. She dies celebrated by the peace loving peoples of the world, painlessly of natural causes, her last experience being a celebration of her life final hug from the now elderly Ranma and his Jessica.
Anya Corazon decides not to age, as someone must watch for The Inheritors for Genma's sake. Eleven years after Ranma's death, Anya dies finishing the Inheritors off for good.
Merriem Drew eventually grows tired of committing atrocities in the name of peace, and retires to live her days out with Ranma and the pair of Jessica, dying surrounded by the people she loves, and holding the hand of the daughter she turned her life upside down to protect. Hail Madame HYDRA.
Laura? She cannot grow old at all, unlike her father. She remains faithful forever to her husband Rock, and never stops fighting to protect the weak. When, after seven hundred years the Empire finally breaks the slave shield around it and sets out to free the galaxy from the Ur-Quan, Laura is captain of the vessel that eventually ends them and the Kzer-Za, leaving the galaxy to seek a new path.
At the end of it all, Jessica (Drew-Saotome) sits on a porch swing with a back that aches constantly, a bladder that works sporadically, and eyes that are slowly failing her. She thumbs through the digital reminders of her life, barely able to stay awake. She knows she should probably eat something, but even Pocky doesn't taste good anymore. Tired, she takes a nap.
She dreams that she is with Ranma again; young, beautiful. There are two paths before them. One? Ranma becomes Love and Jessica becomes Loved. They will exist forever, never capable of growing bored with life.
The other path? Jessica and Ranma could be reborn again.
-
Was Jessica dreaming still? What an odd dream. Ranma, Merriem, Jessica Jones and so many others were there. Ranma looks over to Jessica. "What do you say, Jess? Wanna go around again?"
Jessica was so very tired, but she liked what she saw. "Let's go around again Ranma. I promise I'll get to you earlier, and maybe stop you from having 80 billion girlfriends."
"I'd like that."
They were presented with a vision of a very pretty wolf-human thing with one eye looking over at a drunken woman who could be Spider-Woman's twin. "Is that going to be you, Ranma?"
Ranma smiled, "Yup. I figure a good compromise of my sex changing with hot and cold water is simply to be an impossibly pretty man."
Merriem touched her daughter's cheek, "I'm coming with you. I promise I'll try to be a better mother this time." They were presented with a vision of a teenage Jessica pounding on the wall and telling her mother to "Keep it down you slut! Daddy hasn't even been dead a year!" Merriem produced an anime sweatdrop, "Okay clearly I still won't be a GREAT mother." Jessica smiled at Madame HYDRA, "You'll try your best. I love you, Mom."
Jessica Jones gave out kisses to her lovers, "I am following the two of you. No questions asked. I think I wanna be a sexy dead girl."
They sensed a presence they did not like, and Jones groaned, "Can Kilgrave be YOUR problem this time? I feel like he's coming around again as well."
"Why not?" The other Jessica replied, "'I'm used to hating that guy anyway. I hope _I_ get to kill him this time."
And so, the trio held hands and walked into their new lives, knowing it was a bittersweet event. It would be awhile before they could get back together.
