SmackDown: 19/7/2001

SmackDown was live at the Fleet Center in Boston, Massachusetts. The show opened with WCW owner Shane McMahon leading his army of WCW stars to the ring. He was followed by ECW owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and the mad scientist of sports entertainment, Paul Heyman, who brought their ECW stars out to the ring as well.

Shane said the face of sports entertainment will forever change this Sunday after Invasion. He stated that the World Wrestling Federation has been the best for years, but then again, they have never been faced with such as powerful an alliance as WCW and ECW. He reiterated that he and Stephanie had divested all their Federation stock to back their allied force, and that no Federation Superstar would deny them of their destiny.

Stephanie grabbed the mic and said that the Federation has run its course. She said that neither the decrepit "Classy" Freddie Blassie or the "old" Stone Cold could change what was inevitably going to happen this Sunday. The Billion Dollar Princess said that her father, Vince, should remember one thing come this Sunday - she and Shane have no problem playing dirty.

Cult-like leader Paul Heyman then spoke to the crowd, saying that it was a McMahon family tradition to play dirty. He said that Vince had taken this business away from his father, much like Stephanie and Shane were going to do to him. He then accused Vince of causing his father's eventual death, which Jim Ross explained was a lie because Vince McMahon Sr. succumbed to cancer in 1984. Heyman said that after WCW/ECW defeat the Federation this Sunday, they will all stand over the fallen WWF and read it its last rights.

Back in his locker room, Mr. McMahon was watching the actions of Shane, Stephanie and Heyman on his television when Chris Jericho entered the room. Y2J asked him if heard what they had said, and Vince said that he was hurt by the words of his children. However, he said that actions speak louder than words, and this Sunday, the 'old' Stone Cold Steve Austin would lead Team WWF to victory over Team WCW/ECW. Jericho then asked him if he had heard what he had said about Stephanie on RAW, saying that ECW now stands for "Every Customer Welcome," and that she was the Queen of Hardcore. The Federation chairman said that indeed he was upset because he would have preferred that he called her a no-good, bottom-feeding, trashbag, disgusting tramp!

In the first match on SmackDown!, WCW's Diamond Dallas Page faced Jericho in one-on-one action. Page hit Y2J with his tornado powerbomb, but Jericho kicked out after two. Jericho then retaliated with a bulldog, but WCW referee Nick Patrick refused to count. Jericho went after Patrick, which allowed DDP to roll him up, but Y2J was able to kick out despite the fast count by the WCW ref. Jericho then went for a clothesline on DDP, but Page ducked, which caused the Lionheart to accidently hit Patrick! When Patrick finally came to, he called for the bell, disqualifying Y2J! Afterward, Jericho put Patrick in the Walls of Jericho, but DDP came for the save with a steel chair. A chair-swinging Page missed Y2J, which allowed Jericho to slap the Walls of Jericho on his as well. Patrick then went for the chair to save Page, but Y2J picked up the chair and chased him out of the ring. The Lionheart then nailed Page with the chair, sending both WCW representatives limping back to the locker room.

Paul Heyman was sitting at Commissioner William Regal's desk when the goodwill ambassador walked in and asked him what he was doing. Heyman told the Commissioner that he could provide for him in the future. He said after the Sunday, Team WCW/ECW would be in charge, and they could use a good man like Regal. Heyman said that everyone knew that ECW stood for Extreme Classy Wrestling, and that Regal was a class act.

He said it was time to say bye-bye to Vince McMahon, and he should join himself, Shane and Stephanie. Regal responded by telling him to get his bloody feet of his desk, and that he could tell Shane and Stephanie that they were ungrateful toerags, and that they could go to hell. The Commissioner then said that Heyman had better get out of his office before he performed acts of violence on him that would make the Devil cry, which prompted the mad scientist to run from the room.

ECW's Lance Storm, seconded to the ring by Mike Awesome, made his way to the ring. He grabbed the mic and said that Boston may not be the best city to talk about championships, but the fact that Edge and Christian have held the Federation Tag Team Championship seven times says a lot about the caliber of Superstars that the Federation had to offer. At that point, Edge and Christian's music hit, and a one-on-one match between Storm and Christian got underway. Christian hit a spinning reverse DDT and went for the cover, but Awesome pulled his partner out of the ring. With WWF official Earl Hebner distracted by Edge outside the ring, Awesome brought a steel chair into the ring and was about to waffle Christian before Hebner returned and grabbed the weapon from the WCW star. With Hebner's back turned, Edge entered the ring and speared Storm, allowing Christian to cover the fallen WCW star for the win!

Back in his locker room, Mr. McMahon was pacing when a somber-looking Sgt. Slaughter entered the room and said he had something to tell him. Mr. McMahon, thinking it was bad news, sat down, but Slaughter excited the Federation chairman by exclaiming that Stone Cold was in the building!

In the WCW women's locker room, WCW's Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson were talking about their arm-wrestling match against Trish Stratus and Lita later in the night. At that point, Nick Patrick entered the room and said that even though he was roughed up earlier in the night, he would still be the referee for their arm-wrestling match.

In the Commissioner's office, Regal was talking to Tajiri. "Tajiri, you wouldn't have believed it! That parasite, Paul Heyman, was sat in my chair, with his feet on my desk! But I soon got rid of him. Back to Monday, I am so proud of the way we took care of Tazz on RAW, and I know you are going to do the same thing at Invasion. But tonight, tonight is a special night because the Dudley Boyz, Tazz, and the Jackal of Bulletproof will be facing you, and you know who your partners are going to be? The Brothers of Destruction!"

Tajiri starts shouting excitedly in his language, going all crzy in excitment as Regal tries to calm him down.

"here they are now!" Regal said as the Bladewolf, the Undertaker, Kane, Sera and Trish enter the office, Bladewolf, Kane and Trish on one side, the Undertaker and Sera on the other.

Regal tried to shake Sera's hand but the Undertaker smacked his hand. "Hands." he warned.

Tajiri said something in his language as Bladewolf and Kane stared at him.

"i just wanted to get you all together before your match together." Regal said as tajiri was still excited.

"Hey, hey." Bladewolf cut in and pointed to Tajiri without looking at him. "hat the hell's wrong with him?"

"He's foreign, don't take any notice of him." Regal assured him. "I just wanted to get you all together before your match because, I mean, your match is coming up. You are facing the Dudley Boyz, the Jackal and Tazz. You will be representing the World Wrestling Federation, the best that the World Wrestling Federation has to offer! And you're going to make a destructive force! A destructive force! And for any reason, I mean, if they get you down..." Tajiri lies on Regal's desk. "You've just gotta rise up!" tajiri rises up like Kane, looking right at Kane and Bladewolf who stared back. "And you've got to grab them by the throat and chokeslam them to hell!"

Tajiri then pretended to be chokeslammed and looked at the Brothers of Destruction excitedly.

"You need to check his medication." Undertaker told Regal before looking at the others. "Come on."

As they leave, Tajiri speaks to Kane and Bladewolf who look him over.

"Freak." They both say and leave with Trish.

"I think they like you." Regal told Tajiri.

Mr. McMahon was sitting in his office when Stone Cold and Debra entered. The Rattlesnake sat down with Vince, and the Federation chairman said that this Sunday would be magical because the "old" Stone Cold was back! Vince said he never had a doubt that the raging Rattlesnake would return, and he asked Austin to give him a hug. Stone Cold said he didn't want to hug him, which upset the chairman.

Next up was the 8-man tag team match.

In the arena, the Dudley Boyz' theme hits and out they come to boos from the crowd as they make their way down towards the ring.

"The Dudley Boyz, making their way to the ring for 8-man tag team action." Cole said.

"The following 8-man tag team match is scheduled for one-fall!" Tony Chimel announced. "making their way to the ring, weighing in at 565 lbs, representing ECW, Bubba Ray and D-Von... THE DUDLEY BOYZ!"

"There's no doubt the Dudley Boyz are one of the toughest tag teams I've ever seen in the history of wrestling." JR said.

The Dudley Boyz enter the ring and Tazz's theme soon hits to boos from the crowd and out comes Tazz who makes his way down the ramp and rolls into the ring to join the Dudley Boyz and he fist bumps them.

"Representing ECW, weighing 248 lbs... TAZZ!" Tony Chimel announced.

Omen in the Sky hits as the Bulletproof theme and out comes the Jackal to boos from the crowd. Jackal wore black wrestling tights with the ECW logo on one side, the WCW logo on the other side.

"And from Brooklyn, New York, weighing 290 lbs, representing Bulletproof and WCW... THE JACKAL!" Tony Chimel announced.

"This man and his partner, Bloodwolf, returned last week after a 3-month absence due to injury." JR said. "And their first tagrte seems to be the Bladewolf, they seem to be starting a problem with him after they assaulted him on RAW and kidnapped Trish Stratus, forcing Bladewolf to pursue them and not be part of the match he was scheduled to be in. I'm glad Trish is safe and fine, but Bulletproof just went personal with Bladewolf which may not end well for them."

"Bulletproof arrived a year ago at this time, and have become 5-time WWF Tag Team Champions as they are 5-time WCW Tag Team Champions." Cole said. "And it appears they have went back with their old company, WCW."

Jackal enters the ring and fist bumps the Dudleys and Tazz as his theme dies down.

Tajiri's theme hits to cheers and out comes Tajiri. "And from japan, weighing 208 lbs... TAJIRI!" Tony Chimel announced as tajiri stopped on the stage, waiting but badmouthing Tazz.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

The pyro exploded and then Rollin played to a loud pop before the Undertaker, Kane and the Bladewolf walked out with Trish Stratus and Sera alongside them.

"And his partners, being accompanied by Trish Stratus and Sera... THE BROTEHRS OF DESTRUCTION!" Tony Chimel announced before leaving the ring.

"Well JR, you see Sera, the Undertaker's wife, with the Undertaker." Cole said. "Because when Diamond Dallas Page is around, Sera doesn't seem to be safe."

"She's real safe, in my view, with the Brothers of Destruction around her." JR said. "And Trish is with Bladeowlf, thank god she's safe after what happened on RAW when Bulletproof kidnapped her."

As they walked down the ramp, Tajiri went running and slides into the ring to get this match started, the referee calling for the bell.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

"And look at Tajiri." JR says. "Showing no fear and jumping right into the ring, not sure that was smart, but Tajiri came to fight and he went right for Tazz."

"And 4-on-1, the Dudley Boyz, Tazz and Jackal attacking Tajiri." Cole said.

The brothers of Destruction enter the ring and fight off the Dudleys, Tazz and Jackal. Bladewolf taking Jackal into the corner and furiously hammering away on the man that abducted his girlfriend on RAW. Bladewolf then clotheslines Jackal over the top rope, and Undertaker takes out D-Von and Tajiri takes out Tazz before they get onto the ring apron in their corners as Kane starts the match off with D-Von Dudley.

"Kane, starting it off here with D-Von Dudley." JR said. "Some order restored in this match."

Outside the ring, Bubba Ray spots Sera and Trish and goes for them but Undertaker knocks Bubba Ray into the barricade.

"Undertaker, protecting Trish and Sera." JR says.

"And D-Von landing some rights on the Big Red Machine, Kane." Cole says.

D-von runs, rebounds off the ropes and comes right into a clothesline from Kane. Kane pulls D-Von to his feet, Irish whips him off the ropes and takes him down with another clothesline, then hits Bubba Ray with a back body drop, then clobbers Tazz with an uppercut. Kane goes for Bubba Ray on the apron, but Bubba Ray brings Kane's head off the ropes, causing the Big Red Machine to stumble back into a tackle from D-Von, who then tags in Jackal.

"D-Von making the tag to the Jackal." JR said.

Jackal stomps away on Kane in the corner, driving his boot into Kane's stomach and chest repeatedly before he clobbers the Big Red Machine, then takes him down with a close clotheslines.

"Jackal, an impressive young man and athlete I must say." JR said. "Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, 5-time WCW Tag Team Champion and longer reigning WCW Tag team Champion, and now a 5-time WWF Tag Team Champion."

"Jackal, one half of Bulletproof with Bloodwolf." Cole said. "Both star6ted out in WCW, and it seems they haven't forgotten that in this Alliance as they've defected to their old company."

Jackal twists Kane's arm but Kane fights back with elbows to the ribcage of Jackal, and is then taken down with a clothesline but Jackal was quick to get back to his feet and back off from Kane before eh runs at Kane but gets floored with a big boot. Jackal rolls over and tags in Tazz, quickly rolling out of the ring.

"Jackal wants nothing to do with Kane." Cole chuckles.

"I don't blame him." JR said.

Kane walks over, grabs Tazz and pulls him into the ring. Tazz gets to his feet but is floored with a big boot from Kane. Kane walks over to his partners and tags in Tajiri and gets out onto the ring apron as Tajiri comes in and boots Tazz and starts fighting him. Tajiri gets Tazz on the ropes, but doesn't see Bubba Ray Dudley tag himself in as Tajiri Irish whips Tazz off the ropes and attempts a move only for Bubba Ray to lift him up from behind and slam him to the mat hard.

"Wow." Cole says.

"That's good teamwork there by this ECW contention of the Dudleys and Tazz." JR said. "jackal represents WCW, but he is part of this Alliance."

bubba Ray rams Tajiri's head into the turnbuckle and starts hammering away on him before tagging in D-Von. D-Von comes in, pulls Tajiri to his feet and starts hammering away on Tajiri's forehead, then begins kicking away at Tajiri. D-Von then irish whips Tajiri off the ropes and takes him down with a big elbow to the face.

"D-Von, taking Tajiri down with a big elbow." Cole says.

D-Von drags Tajiri over to his corner and tags in the Jackal who comes in and stomps away on Tajiri before pressing his foot down on Tajiri's neck, causing Tajiri to yell in pain. Jackal then stomps, picks tajiri up and suplexex him across the ring.

"Nice suplex there by Jackal." JR said. "This man and Bloodwolf are impressive, they are a deadly force as a team. They are 10-time tag team champions for a reason."

Jackal tackles Tajiri into the corner and presses his head into the turnbuckle while staring at Bladewolf who paces on the ring apron. Jackal then stops and delivers a hard right hand to the forehead of Tajiri, then grabs him and goes for a belly-to-belly suplex... BUT TAJIRI LANDS ON HIS FEET!

"Tajiri lands on his feet!" Cole exclaimed.

Tajiri was quick to dropkick Jackal into the corner, sending jackal facefirst into the turnbuckle. Tajiri gets to his feet and looks at his partners, Bladewolf with his arm out. Tajiri tags him in.

"Bladewolf wants in!" JR said as the crowd cheered. "And here we go!"

Jackal turns into a right hand from Bladewolf, then another and Bladewolf starts beating away on Jackal in the corner with a fury of lefts and rights, then Irish whips Jackal into the opposite corner, runs and hits the turnbuckle clothesline, scoops Jackal up... AND HITS SNAKE EYES!

"Snake Eyes!" Cole exclaimed.

Bladewolf lifts Jackal onto his right shoulder... AND HITS A RUNNING POWERSLAM! Bladewolf gets to hius feet and takes down the Dudley Boyz and Tazz with right hands as they run into the ring and he keeps this up.

"Bladewolf is just cleaning house!" JR said. "Bodies are going to be laying everywhere."

Bladewolf gets the Dudleys in opposite corner before he runs back and fourth, hitting turnbuckle clotheslines, then gives Tazz a big boot to the face before he grabs the Dudleys by their throats to cheers from the crowd.

"The Dudleys may be going for a ride!" Cole shouted.

The Dudleys kick Bladewolf in the stomach and irish whip him into the ropes, but Bladewolf ducks a double clothesline from them, rebounds off the ropes and they turn around... INTO A DOUBLE SPEAR BY BLADEWOLF!

"Double Spear!" JR shouted.

Bladewolf looks at Undertaker and tags him in. Undertaker comes in, sizes up tazz who turns around... INTO A GOOZLE! Undertaker lifts Tazz up... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!

"Chokeslam!" Cole shouted.

Undertaker goes for the cover! ONE! TWO! THREE! IT'S OVER!

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Rollin plays as Kane and Tajiri join undertaker and Bladewolf in the ring, Kane raising his arms and he throws them down, making fire explode from the turnbuckles. "Here are your winners... TAJIRI! KANE! THE BLADEWOLF AND THE UNDERTAKER!" Tony Chimel announced.

Bladewolf stares down Jackal as he stands beside his brothers and Tajiri before SmackDown went to commercial break.

Next up... is Invasion!
