SmackDown: 8/11/2001
SmackDown was live at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The show kicked off with the WCW Tag Team Championship was on the line. he Dudley Boyz put their titles on the line against the APA. Faarooq and Bradshaw were accompanied to ringside by Jacqueline, while Stacy Keibler - the Duchess of Dudleyville - seconded the Dudleys. At one point, the Duchess got up on the ring apron to try to distract Bradshaw, but he just smacked her on her butt, knocking her from the apron! Ultimately, the Dudleys would retain their titles, putting Faarooq away with a 3-D!
the Dudleys looked around as if expecting to be attacke dby Bulletproof but couldn't see them around so they relaxed. Suddenly... BULLETPROOF CAME OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE RING!
!it's Bulletproof!" Cole exclaimed.
Bladewolf, Jackal and Bloodwolf slides into the ring and attacks the Dudley Boyz while Trish attacks Stacey. Like the last couple of times, the Bladewolf, the Jackal and Bloodwolf stomp away on Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley. Jackal and Bloodwolf pick them up... AND GIVE THEM DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! bladewolf rebounds off the ropes... AND HITS A DOUBLE SPEAR!
Bulletproof stand tall over the Dudley Boyz, Bladewolf and Jackal picking up the WCW Tag Team Championship and raising them to cheers from the crowd as SmackDown goes to a commercial break.
Stone Cold Steve Austin and Debra were talking backstage, and Austin was holding some notes he had taken. He said he was looking for information. Commissioner William Regal entered the locker room, and asked why the Rattlesnake had called for him. Austin told Regal to get all the Alliance members, with the exception of Kurt Angle, Booker T and Rob Van Dam. Stone Cold said he had some questions for his fellow Alliance members.
Led by William Regal, the Alliance made its way to the ring. The commissioner said they had been summoned by Stone Cold, who had something to get off his chest. Regal then called for Austin, who made his way to the ring to a chorus of boos.
The members of the Alliance looked at Austin as if they didn't trust him. The Rattlesnake barked for them to back up. He asked Chavo Guerrero Jr. if he had a problem with him, and Chavo said no. Austin listened to his watch, which told him it was time to do some investigating to find out which person in Team Alliance would jump to the World Wrestling Federation.
Austin talked about Monday's RAW, when Vince McMahon claimed that Austin would be jumping to the Federation at Survivor Series. His watch then said that it was time for Stone Cold to get back to business. He said it was an issue of trust, and he needed to know if the Alliance members trusted him. Austin didn't like the way Chavo was looking at him, but Chavo told Austin that he trusted him. He then asked Hugh Morrus, who also said that he trusted the Rattlesnake. The Hurricane also said that he trusted Stone Cold, and Austin gave the Hurricane his watch for saying so! Stone Cold didn't like the way Shawn Stasiak was looking at him, but Stasiak said that he trusted the Rattlesnake, as did Billy Kidman.
As Austin talked to Kidman, he looked outside the ring to Tazz. He asked if Tazz had been talking trash about him. He challenged Tazz to get in the ring, because he had a question for him. It didn't take long for Tazz to take Austin up on his offer.
Tazz asked Austin what was up, and Stone Cold said "the roof." Tazz said he was going to cut Austin off, but Austin said he would cut Tazz off. Tazz said he was going to tell Austin something that no one else in the ring had the guts to tell him, and Austin wouldn't like it. Austin said, "What?" and Tazz said he hadn't stuttered. Austin walked away, and Tazz said, "Hey boss - I'm over here."
Tazz said he was speaking for most of the Alliance when he said that they didn't like him, and that they were sick and tired of being treated like trailer park trash! Tazz talked about Austin's motto of DTA - Don't Trust Anybody. Tazz said that in his opinion, DTA now stood for "Don't Trust Austin." Stone Cold laughed about what he had just heard, but none of the other Alliance members found it funny. As he walked around again, Tazz again said, "Boss - I'm over here!" Austin then gave Tazz a Stunner!
The Rattlesnake continued to pound on Tazz, and instead of the Alliance helping their leader, they just walked away! Austin tried to get them to stop as they walked away, but they simply walked back to their locker room! Commissioner Regal was the only Alliance member to stay in the ring with Stone Cold.
Backstage, Lita asked Matt Hardy if he would be her partner for a mixed tag match against Lance Storm and Ivory. He said he couldn't do it, since he had an Intercontinental Championship match against Test - an opportunity he needed to take. Lita was disappointed, and Matt said he'd try to help.
Stone Cold complained to Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and Paul Heyman that this whole situation was making him sick. He complained that he was stomping a mudhole in a man in the middle of the ring, only to have his fellow Alliance members walk out on him. He said that if none of those men were strong enough to help him beat on Tazz, then none of them were strong enough to jump to the Federation at Survivor Series. According to Austin, that left three suspects - Rob Van Dam, Booker T and Kurt Angle. Austin said he would get to the bottom of things tonight. He asked Shane to get Booker, Paul to get RVD and Stephanie to get Kurt.
Jim Ross joined Michael Cole for commentary as Test put his newly won Intercontinental Championship on the line against Matt Hardy. Matt thought he had the match won after a second-rope legdrop, but the IC Champion got his foot on the ropes. Matt argued with the referee, and then turned around and was nailed by a big boot to the face. Test then pinned Matt for a successful title defense. As Test celebrated on the stage after the bout, Edge came out of nowhere and nailed Test with a spear onto the steel!
Stone Cold confronted Booker T backstage, asking if he knew how to breakdance. Booker said yes, and Austin talked about how he used to love to dance when he was a kid. The tone then got serious, as Austin asked Booker about being the man who would jump to the Federation at Survivor Series. Booker said he had been with Austin and with the Alliance since Day 1, and Austin then showed Booker footage from King of the Ring in June - held at the Continental Airlines Arena - of Booker attacking the Texas Rattlesnake. He asked Booker if Booker planned on running to the Federation, and Booker said, "Tell me he didn't just say that!" Booker said he had attacked Austin at King of the Ring for the Alliance! He said that the mole was obviously Rob Van Dam - the man who had been in the limo with Vince McMahon! Shane then interjected, saying that Booker would win the WCW Championship from The Rock on SmackDown!, bringing the title home. As Booker left, Shane told the Rattlesnake that it definitely wasn't Booker who is jumping.
Johnathon Coachman is sitting in a chair with Bladewolf, Jackal, Bloodwolf and Trish sitting in chairs across from him, Bladewolf with his arm around Trish's shoulders.
"Bulletproof, thanks for taking the time to have this interview with me." Coachman said. "I wanted to get your thoughts on what many people are-"
"Many people?" Bloodwolf raised an eyebrow. "Who are these people? Coach, if you want to ask us something then just ask. We're not gonna hurt you."
"Okay... why are you guys doing what you've been doing the past few weeks?" Coach asked.
"Now there's the question." Jackal chuckled as he crossed his arms. "you see, Coach, Bloodwolf and I have always been a duo since our days in WCW. We won 6 WCW Tag Team title reigns as a duo. Now that we're here in the WWF, we've won 5 WWF Tag Team title reigns as a duo. But lately... with the way things are between WWF and the Alliance, we figured Bulletproof should be more than a duo. you see the thing we had in common is our frustrations. Bladewolf was frustrated at being accused of defecting when he's shown nothing but loyalty to the WWF. We were frustrated because of the way we were treated in the Alliance by Stephanie, Shane, and Stone Cold Steve Austin."
"So we compromised." Bloodwolf added. "We got so sick and tired we decided to do something about it together. Bladewolf and us, we put our issues aside for him and Trish to come into this team. And so far... they've enjoyed it, Jackal and I have enjoyed it. We wanted to make this more than just two guys back down in WCW, but there was no one there we could trust, and there was no one in the Alliance we dared trust. We are Bulletproof for life."
Coach nodded. "And what about these attacks on Alliance superstars?"
"That's just to show who's side we're on." Jackal said. "Bladewolf is part of team WWF at Survivor Series, and it's only because of that... that we don't attack any WWF superstar. See, we have no true loyalty to anyone, not to WWF, not to WCW/ECW, not to Vince McMahon, not to Shane and Stephanie McMahon, no one. Bladewolf is planning to get the WWF to victory at Survivor Series... and we're planning to bring tag team gold to us. you see, now that we're more than two guys, if we were to win tag team gold... all three of us would be recognised as tag team champion. We want the WWF Tag Team titles and we want the WCW Tag Team titles, and we're gonna get them, before or at Survivor Series."
Coach looked at Bladewolf. "Bladewolf, what are your thoughts on this?"
Bladewolf scoffed under his breath. "When I want to say something... I'll say it. All I'll say is this... we're Bulletproof for life."
"We're done here." Jackal said and they stood and walked away.
And that's it for this chapter everyone. I hope you all enjoyed it.
