"Sure. I'll come with you."
The others look at each other happily, then Erza sticks out her hand, smiling widely.
"Welcome to Fairy Tail, Amaya Hisakawa."
"Why on your chest? That's a pretty private place, you know," Lucy asks, attempting to lift up Amaya's shirt. "I mean, I understand something like a shoulder or a leg, like Juvia, or Erza, but your chest? I mean, Gray did that too, so I guess it's not that weird." Lucy rambles.
Amaya lifts up her shirt and takes off her chain necklace. It has a grey cross on the front, much like the necklace Gray wore around. Lucy does not miss this fact.
"Oh yeah, I wanted to ask. Does that necklace have a meaning? I mean, I've never seen Lyon wear it, but you and Gray seem to wear the same one. Did you two buy it together?"
Amaya looks at Lucy blankly, confused. She had bought the cheap keepsake at a small shop in a museum a few years ago. "Uh, no. I bought this at a museum. It was only a few coins."
Lucy, who was expecting something a little more meaningful, sighs in disappointment. "Dang it, I was hoping you two had history of some kind. Something dirty I could tease Gray about. I need something! Please help me! Ooh, all done!" She adds, taking away the stamp and revealing the tattoo, and Amaya's half-naked body.
Amaya considers Lucy's words. "Dirt on Gray? Hmm, let me think. Ooh, I got something. There was this one time..."
Flashback
"Come on!" Amaya shouts happily, running and giggling. Gray and Lyon are chasing the young girl, and she laughs loudly, grinning happily. "I bet you can never catch me!"
"Just you wait! I'm gonna run faster than you ever have!" Gray yells. Then, because of his blind running, he slips on a leaf. Of course, since he is naked, his bare body hits the ground. His legs slide up as his pants fall down, revealing a girly, pink underwear. Lyon and Amaya look at each other, and start laughing loudly on the floor, their faces pink out of lack of breath. Gray's face turns a bright shade of pink, as he stutters over his words, trying to make a valid excuse as to why he is sporting such girly underwear.
"I ran out! This is Ur's underwear!"
"Yeah right," Amaya giggles, tugging her hair, a nervous habit that took a few years to break. "Ur doesn't even have that kind of underwear." Lyon laughs so hard he looks like he's gonna cry.
"Don't tell anyone, okay?" Gray says, embarrassed. Amaya just grins.
"Can't guarantee it."
End of Flashback
"Hey, are you guys done- why are you laughing Lucy?" Gray asks, coming inside the room. Upon seeing the mark on Amaya's body, his face first turns slightly pink, then he grins and says "You're part of Fairy Tail. Congratulations."
"Don't try to act cool, Gray," Lucy says, barely containing her laughter. "Amaya told me a story about you. I asked for some dirt on you so I could tease you. I can't believe it. Are you a crossdresser?"
Gray looks at the half-naked girl in alarm and his face slowly turns bright red. "Did you tell her about the dress up contest? Lyon did it too!"
"Huh? The dress up contest? What's that about?" Lucy asks, grinning mischievously. "She told me about the pink underwear."
"Oh, that's not as bad," Gray replies, sighing, though his face is still a light pink. He looks at Amaya warningly and says "Don't you dare."
Amaya simply smiles and starts to talk. "Well, the fashion contest was when- mph!"
Gray runs over to Amaya and covers her mouth tightly. Amaya flings around, struggling to get out, before sighing and giving up, glaring at the ice wizard. Lucy laughs and laughs, grinning. She teases Gray to no end, saying "Gray, your female name can be Gara! Good, right?" and "You even look like a girl! Should I lend you some of my clothes?"
Gray sighs, glaring at Amaya. "What have you done?"
Amaya blinks back innocently.
Mira then comes into the room. "Are you done- oh, sorry! I didn't mean to interrupt anything! I didn't realize you had that kind of relationship!" Mira says, grabbing the back of Lucy's shirt, and carrying her out. She closes the door and opens it a slight bit to yell "Don't do anything I wouldn't do!"
Gray and Amaya stare at the door for a few seconds, before looking at each other and shrugging. "That was totally out of character for Mira."
Amaya raises her eyebrows, and points to Gray. "I think I know why she misunderstood. Your position is quite.. awkward."
Gray slowly looks down, and then he sees the position they're both in.
Amaya, who had originally sat down in the only chair in the room, sits in a normal position, but with her leg intertwined with Gray's. He sits in her lap and has one of his feet under Amaya. Because of him covering Amaya's mouth, his hand is over her shoulder, and his face is extremely close to Amaya's.
Gray's face turns bright red for the third time, and he scrambles to get out of the seat. "I- I'm so sorry!"
Amaya shrugs, and pats Gray's hair. "It's okay. I don't mind. It is good to see you after so long." She smiles, her eyes crinkling happily. "Our lives are truly unpredictable, huh."
Gray smiles, and hugs the girl. They stay like that for a few seconds, smiling and hugging. They had gone through a lot. From their past together, to thinking of each other as deceased. It had been a while since they truly were together. Now, they were back in their game. Like two pieces of a puzzle. So different, yet, together, they could do anything. But now, Amaya realized, it wasn't just them. It was also the others. It was all of them together in a bigger puzzle. Some pieces were missing, like Ur, and Ryujin, but you could still see the picture.
"I'm so sorry. Are you done-" Mira comes back into the room, then closes the door once more. As she leaves she calls "I'm telling Juvia!"
"No, Mira, I'm sorry! It's not really like that!" Gray yells, and grabbing Amaya's wrist, runs out the room and into the main part of the guild.
Amaya smiles. This will be a fun ride.
"I would love to meet this... Juvia," Amaya says, looking around for all of her things. She is getting prepared to go on the long journey with the other members. Lucy, Gray, and Natsu have volunteered to come with her to help her pack. Really, Natsu and Lucy just want dirt on Gray so they can tease him all night long. Erza, who is curious but too proud to come, goes to pack her own bag and swing to the bakery for strawberry cake with Wendy. Erza informs Amaya of Wendy.
"Wendy is a sky dragon slayer," Erza had said, handing her a few papers for her registration. "She's on a small time job, but she'll be back sometime around this afternoon. Since you're a dragon slayer, I assume you have learned of the history of you guys?"
Amaya had. She had actually known since the beginning what had happened to them, and how they went through the time machine. But she was too young to fully process the events that had happened, and as a result, wandered around aimlessly until running into Ur, then meeting Tomoko. She was the leader of the Dragon Slayers, after all.
"So why have you called me?" Amaya had asked, signing the papers and handing them back to Erza. "I do know what happened in our pasts, but what does that have to do with Wendy?"
"I know we only just met, but you seem like a reliable young lady. I would like to ask you a favor."
"A favor?"
"Yes, a favor. Can you please take care of Wendy a bit? I try to take care of her as much as I can, but even I don't have that much experience with the type of magic she uses and I can't relate to her on those means. I would honestly have asked Natsu, but you can tell from his personality, he's not really the caring type."
Amaya nodded and replied "Sure. I can help her. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to do much, since she's probably already evolved a lot while I was not present. But I'll try my best to do everything in my power to help her. You have my word."
Erza had sighed so loudly out of relief. Amaya wondered how heavy Erza's burden was. She, despite the name, was Team Natsu's main leader. She had to take care of the mages, and dealt with a lot. From what she could tell, she was very close with Makarov, and probably shouldered the burden that the master had. Amaya wanted to make it easier for her. So she agreed.
Amaya is now scared, realizing that the girl, Wendy, could be a handful like the rest of the kids. She sighs and turns back to her bag, grabbing things that she thinks she might need. A few weights, a clean towel, a few rocks Tomoko gave her randomly. She also hands Lucy her underwear, telling Lucy that she had found it in her house before she moved in. Lucy hits Natsu's head with the underwear, hard.
"You want to meet Juvia? We can have that arranged. Her Gray jealousy alarm probably went off by now," Lucy says, taking out the rocks and weights. "She's quite a handful, though. Don't say I didn't warn you."
Amaya shrugs, though inside she's a bit confused. Jealousy alarm? She's quite a handful? Are all the Fairy Tail members like this? Her guess is yes. "It's okay. I've met a lot of crazy people in my time. Sounds like she has a crush on you, Gray."
Gray sighs, and nods sadly. "She's a bit pushy, but other than that, she's fine. As long as she doesn't flood the Guild Hall again."
"Avoiding the subject, I see. That's my specialty, not yours."
"Whatever. Let's go. Are you done?"
"Still doing it."
"Whatever!"
Lucy and Natsu snicker at the two mages. "They have a weird relationship, huh. I'm kinda excited to see how Juvia will react."
"Mark my words, it won't be good."
