In this chapter, Izuku deals with an idiotic All Might and an energetic inventor. Can he cope, or will he die trying? This is it, Puppeteer. Small Might met with Izuku in the most likely place that they should meet, but it did take an hour for him to find the young boy. He was lounging on the roof they met on, sitting on the floor, leaning against the shed. His cargo pants covered legs were extended forward, one on top of the other. The green sweater he was wearing shielded his shirt from view, but All Might knew from experience that it probably read 'pants' or something stupid like that. The shade from the late evening sky covered his face from view, but All Might was sure from the feeling he was getting that it was either a predatory smirk or a disappointed stare.

"Took you long enough," Izuku called out when Toshinori got in range, causing him to sheepishly rub his head.

"The press had kept me, I couldn't exactly say I was going to meet you, could I?" Toshinori rhetorically asked.

"Fair," Izuku nodded, standing up from his position on the floor. "But also bullshit. You would have run out of time during that. Unless the news broadcast your small form to everyone, your goal was to get out of there as quickly as possible. And betting that it wasn't the second, I have come to two conclusions. One, you are a liar. Two, you're really an idiot under all that muscle, despite that out of proportion head size." His words may have been direct and harsh, but All Might laughed at them, happy that the boy knew both to respect authority but not be afraid to call them out on, as he put it, 'bullshit'.

"And that is what I like about you, young Midoriya! You-" All Might was cut off by the other occupant of the roof, something he never would happen.

"It's Midoriya. Not Young Midoriya, not Boy, not Izuku. Simply, Midoriya." It was a strange request, but doable.

"As you wish, y- Midoriya," All Might said, having to catch himself before he just did the thing Midoriya asked him not to do.

"Good, you're learning," Izuku said as if he was talking to someone below him.

"Anyway, what you said earlier had me thinking. It was so strange, seeing a boy young as you with the struggles of something most grandfathers wouldn't be dealing with. Not only troubled due to your quirk, but with desires such as yours, it was such an eye opener!" Toshinori declared, much to the amusement of the younger boy.

"Great, I already know I'm mentally challenged. Now, what are you saying?" Izuku asked, leaving no room for argument or refusal.

"Well, uh, it is the duty of a hero to stick their nose into things that are not their business?" All Might asked. He wasn't in his buff form, but the chaotic and unsure form he had made Izuku think that he was talking to the number one hero, not an injured and senile old man like the one in front of him.

Well, the senile old man was the number one hero, so it was fair? Either way, it was a terrible response.

"And how, exactly, are you going to be doing that?" Izuku asked. He was getting bored of this real quick. He had always idolized All Might as a child, though it was mostly because he had everything Izuku wanted. Still, meeting him in person had been a definite letdown.

"Simple, I choose you to be my successor, to both power and position," All Might stated, as if he hadn't just told a child that they were being groomed to become the number one hero.

"Cool, anywa- wait what the fuck?" Izuku asked, the full force of Toshinori's words hitting him like a truck.

"I believe you are worthy of inheriting my power, young man. You shall become the next symbol of peace!" Toshinori shouted, letting the world hear.

"Wait, let me get this straight," Izuku started, waving his hands. "You are giving your time and effort to train me, a deranged teenager with no combat experience and natural desires to control other people, your power and position as the symbol of peace, something people will always look towards and admire as a positive role model."

"Yes?" Once more, The response Toshinori Yagi gave was phrased as a question, rather than an answer. Izuku laughed, nearly doubling over as the ridiculous situation fully dawned on him.

"I accept," Izuku stated, because who was he to decline? The number one hero, his role model, was willing to give him not only his power but position as well, the very thing Izuku had sought after for multiple years since learning of the benefits that came with being a hero.

All Might nodded, the two men looking at the sunset then each other.

"Sorry, but I have to go. Curfew and all, my mom gets upset about these kinds of things and I don't want to upset her."

"Oh, oh no, it's really no problem. You should introduce us at some point!"

"Yeah, got it. See you."

"Uh yes, see you, young Midoriya."

"It's just Midoriya!"

"So when you said training grounds, I assumed a gym or a ring. Not a trash dump," Izuku said, looking out at the mess of Dagobah beach. The area had turned into a landfill, the beauty the landmark once possessed destroyed in favor of environmental damage.

"Well, you know how heroes don't just fight villains!" All Might stated, currently in his buff form with Izuku on the beach.

"Actually, that is the legal definition of what they do," Izuku deadpanned. Cue the questioning look from All Might. "Japan legal code, 718c, states, "The job of a government employed hero is to fight those legally defined as a villain," as well as some other nonsense but that's basically the gist of it," Izuku finished.

"Well, let's do good for the environment," All Might said, not losing any of his enthusiasm.

"All right, how do we start?" Izuku asked, already dreading the idea of training under the guy that gets outsmarted and can't properly answer a random teenager's questions.

Izuku was very much right to dread, his self proclaimed teacher just having Izuku carry things to the garbage trucks he had bought and brought without the use of Izuku's quirk.

It was hard work, but Izuku had been doing some physical training lately, especially due to his lack of a combat oriented quirk. Having heard from an upperclassman what the UA entrance exam was like, Izuku knew that the robots on campus would pose quite a serious threat to things that weren't combat related, especially if his quirk didn't work on them. He had backup plans, some revolving around using his quirk on others, while some were more related to 'fuck around and find out'.

By the time the day ended, Izuku cleared a single trash pile from the beach. Sitting atop another, he sighed and let the cool ocean breeze waft past him, cooling him down and helping his muscles relax involuntarily.

"One pile done," he said, looking around the beach, before realizing how large it truly was. "Ninety nine left."

Izuku had set a daily routine for himself. First, in the morning, he would wake up at six and make breakfast for himself and Inko. It was nothing too fancy, mostly just eggs and toast, but it got him full for the rest of his time before lunch. He would then proceed to go on his morning run, around the neighborhood, just to stretch his legs and check for any crimes. He knew he wasn't supposed to do that, but he did it anyway because why not. He was itching for someone to control, having refrained from doing it for a while, but this was part of his training; resisting his quirk. Toshinori sometimes took him to a prison to let him play with some criminals, but that was only once a month. He enjoyed it, he really did, but it was always a letdown when he had to leave once more. After running, he went to school, and spent his time there isolated and studying. Often warding off those who came too close, the teachers let him do whatever he wanted so long as he got assignments turned in on time and had good grades, of which he had the best.

After school, he went to Dagobah and spent time clearing trash. About half of a pile per day, this was where he did a majority of his physical work. Part of it was also using his quirk on objects, dragging the things far too heavy to lift, working with multiple commands at a time, connecting and using multiple things of high caliber. From there, he went back home, often telling his mom that he stayed late because he was with friends. She never questioned it, but often did wonder why he came back hot and sweaty. She chalked it up to playing sports, not hauling tires and fridges across burning sands. Izuku would finish his homework, eat dinner, and go up to his room, where he conducted his online study sessions.

Each week, All Might gave him a set topic to research and prepare a report on. Sometimes it was heroes, sometimes it was tactics, and sometimes it was villains. No matter what happened, Izuku delivered more than expected, notebooks full of his analysis for the pro hero. What he didn't know was that Toshinori often visited pro heroes to give them the notebooks on their related topics, many pros benefitting from the reports and as such, doing better in the field or catching the related villains. Izuku saw this on the news sometimes, but didn't question it because it wasn't like he had any role to play, it was just heroes getting better. Right?

On one normal day, Izuku was working at the beach, hauling a dishwasher(why had someone left that here?) to the truck and pulling several carts full of assorted electronics with some threads he had attached to them. It was efficient, but it tired him out more quickly, using his quirk and physical strength at the same time. According to his calculations, it operated at a 2% faster pace, lowering the amount of trips but also lowering the time he worked. Humming a casual tune, he started thinking about the prompt that Toshinori had given him two days ago. He had done basic research into Takami Keigo, aka the pro hero Hawks, but not much. All he knew was that the blond was a rising star, much like Kamui Woods, but was much better in case resolution, capturing 96% of the villains he saw and with a less than 1% fatality rate, close to the lowest of every hero ever. Muttering about ways to utilize his wings as a potential shield for crashing and protecting others, he didn't notice the girl about to knock him out with a radiator.

Izuku stumbled over a rock, being largely unable to see where he was going, which caused one of his carts to crash, the movement being translated into the string connecting it. Setting down the dishwasher and turning around, he barely had two seconds to react before the girl swung at him with the clunky machinery.

Those two seconds were enough for him, Izuku being able to roll under the swing and behind the girl, who was caught in the momentum of a swing. Activating threads and stopping her movement, dropping the radiator, he forced the girl to face him with a turn of his wrist, more threads attaching to her arms and legs according to a new skill he had created, giving him finer control over the people he was controlling. It still couldn't swap the targeted control point though, such as wrists, mouth, toe, or neck. Each string was attached to a separate finger, giving him complete control over the movements of her arms, legs, neck, and spine.

The first thing he noticed was pink. It was everywhere. Glaring pink hair, bright pink eyes, a loose pink shirt, pink pants, and pink sports shoes. Semi dark skin covered decently developed muscles, and broken goggles stopped the hair from falling all around her face.

"Who are you, and do you mind explaining why you assaulted me?" Izuku asked, on guard. She didn't seem that threatening, but Izuku knew better than to judge someone by looks only.

"Hiya!" she exclaimed, way too cheery for someone who couldn't move and just tried to kill someone else. "My name is Mei Hatsume, future C.E.O. of Hatsume industries and co.!" Okay, a deluded teenager with extreme dreams. Not the weirdest thing he had seen before, but definitely not normal either. "And you stopped me from making my babies so I had to stop you!"

"Okay, wel- wait, what the fuck?" Izuku said for the second time that year, caught by surprise at what she just said. "Babies?"

"Yeah! You stopped me from building my hover baby, and you keep taking my parts!" Mei Hatsume exclaimed, still using extremely terrible wording to describe what she was working on.

"Hover baby- oh you mean your inventions," Izuku realized, still reeling from the shock of having an attempt on his life. Taking another once over of the girl he held captive, he realized some things that he hadn't previously noticed.

First was how dirty she was, and by god, grime was everywhere. Not a single part of her was clean, signifying that she clearly had no clue what hygiene was, either that or she was kicked out of the house.

"Not that that's unreasonable," Izuku muttered, Mei still frozen in place and unable to move while he thought about what to do. Finally releasing her, he pointed to a small area in the trash piles. "Go wait there while I take this stuff to the truck, then we can decide how to proceed."

Mei obeyed, sitting where he asked and starting to tinker with some surrounding materials. Izuku sighed, dragging his hand across his face for the umpteenth time this month, before picking up the materials he dropped and taking them back to the truck. It was short, but it gave him ample time to think about what he just made himself do.

Mei was exactly where he left her, still sitting and tinkering with the trash around her. Izuku sat across from her, waiting for her to acknowledge him, but she didn't seem to do so. It took thirty seconds for Izuku to realize that she was caught in her inventions, something that Izuku could relate to when it came to his studying.

"Mei," he started, not getting a response. "Mei," he tried a little louder. "Mei!" he shouted, still not getting a response. Groaning and tossing his head against the trash, he sat up and used his quirk.

Mei immediately threw the gadget she was working on into the wall as hard as possible, utterly destroying it before she knew what was happening.

"Mei," he said, causing her to look at him. "Learn to respond when someone talks to you." Izuku didn't mean to chastise her, but it came out like that anyway. Mei sulked but nodded, still looking towards where her invention was. "Mei," he called out once more, causing her to finally look at him. "Respond when someone makes conversation to you." Dear fuck, was he really teaching someone how to talk with others?

"Okay," Mei quietly said, causing Izuku to sigh. Standing up, he gestured for her to do the same. She did so, albeit reluctantly.

"Where are your parents?" he asked, Mei looking at him blankly. "Mom and dad?"

"Oh, mom's home. She doesn't want me back till night though, so I stay here, working on my babies!" Mei shouted, before running towards another trash pile. Izuku sighed, activating his quirk, stopping her from going further away.

Pulling her back, he didn't let her go until she stopped moving her legs. She was trying her hardest to run, but her arm stayed anchored in place, letting her exhaust her energy.

After a solid ten minutes of Mei running and Izuku resting on a nearby trash pile, she finally tired herself out enough to where she collapsed on the ground, her arm still suspended in the air.

"Good, can we listen now?" Izuku asked, going slowly and simply, trying to educate a literal child.

Mei nodded, prompting Izuku to drag her across the sands and near the ocean. Before he could get her into it, though, she jumped up and started running away, somehow having renewed her energy supply. Izuku sighed and yanked her into the ocean, dragging her under the surface for two seconds before pulling her back up.

Mei gasped and spat out water, coughing to get air into her lungs. Before she could react, Izuku dunked her under once more, luckily Mei having taken a breath this time. He pulled her up once more, this time letting her get it all out of her system.

"What-" she gasped, still trying to get air. "What was that for?" She was panting, standing but scared, now afraid that he would pull her under again. He gestured for her to leave the water, something she did happily.

"I couldn't take a gremlin home, so you had to be washed in the easiest way possible," Izuku stated, walking away, ready to force her to follow.

"Take a gremlin home? You own one of those? Where?" Mei asked, somehow regaining all of her previous energy.

"It's you," Izuku sighed. "You are the gremlin." He just started walking, not really caring if Mei was following. Ten minutes later, Izuku wasn't sure whether or not he should like that she listened to him. Their house had come into view, and Izuku was just glad that the journey was finally over. Mei had been all over him, jumping around and messing with his mojo.

"Hey mom," Izuku called out when he unlocked the door. He and Mei stepped inside, wiping their shoes on the welcome mat and Izuku set down his bag.

"Hey Izu-" his mom trailed off when she saw Mei. "Ku. Hello dear, who are you?"

"Mei Hatsume!" Mei exclaimed, jumping forward to shake her hand. "Future C.E.O. of Hatsume industries, tech inventor and support gear supplier extraordinaire!" Mei was jumping around, looking at anything and everything as Izuku and his Mother talked, Izuku keeping an eye on her to ensure she didn't break anything.

"I found her on the beach," Izuku started, looking casually at where Mei was situated. "Parents didn't want her back until dark, and she really likes making stuff."

"Oh, poor thing," Inko said, before looking at her. "So you brought her here? Why?"

"Home until we can contact the authorities. Child neglect, and intentional abandonment, both lead to sentences totaling up to more than 25 years. I'll bring them in, provided she stays here and provides me her parent's location." Izuku's plan, laid out, made much more sense than what he was about to do. Receiving an okay from Inko, he called Mei to his room, letting her explore the walls of hero merchandise that he had collected

"Hey Mei?" he asked, causing her to look at him. "I have a deal for you. You get to do unlimited inventing, if you tell me where your parents live." Mei looked at him questioningly, but shrugged, happy with what she could get.

"They live at XX xxxxxx drive," Mei said, waiting for Izuku to provide her materials.

"Okay, thank you," Izuku said, ready to go. "Here's a challenge for you." Mei perked up at that, the word challenge piquing her interest. "Use the hero merchandise in this room to make something. Doesn't matter what it is, just make something." Mei nodded and began to get to work.

Izuku left the house, putting on a casual green sweater for the slight cold of the chilly night. Adding to that, a plain white mask would be used to conceal his identity for what he was going to do.

It was a short walk there, the destination not being too far from where Izuku resided. The house was much like his own, something he immediately took note of. Knocking on the door, he waited for someone to open it in the dead of night.

A short, plump woman opened the door, very similar to Mei in looks. She narrowed her eyes at him, likely trying to discern who he was. Before she could ask anything, Izuku spoke first.

"Do you know a Mei Hatsume?" he asked.

"Know?" the woman responded. "She's my daughter. A stupid, good for nothing brat who's gonna ruin our lives. I told her not to come home, she refuses to obey," the woman rambled, seemingly in a drunken stupor.

Good. That made Izuku's task much easier.

Activating his quirk, the woman led him inside without knowing what she was doing. Broken bottles littered the floor, alcohol everywhere. They were clearly junkies, something that ticked off Izuku even more. Mei's mother picked up a broken bottle from the floor and proceeded inwards, lighting the room with the flick of a switch.

A man was on the sofa, both drunk and high. He had a potbelly, and was shirtless, displaying something nobody would ever want to see. Mei's mother walked toward him, and proceeded to stab him in the throat with the broken bottle. The man woke up, gurgling and choking on his life liquid, but he was unable to react before he died. A quick, slightly painful death, but Izuku was not ready to see actual gore yet. Mei's mother was now mostly aware of what was going on, extremely surprised when a masked stranger was in her house, and her husband was dead on the couch.

"Who are you?" she asked, fearfully. Good, she should be scared.

"A dream," Izuku responded, before Mei's mother slit her own throat, staring at the white of Izuku's mask, the last sight she'd ever see. After she died, Izuku made a call.

"119, I'd like to report a murder."

Izuku and Mei were both brought in for questioning, Inko going with them to act as support. Mei successfully claimed that she didn't know what happened, having been with Izuku that day. Izuku had a harder time doing that, but he was able to convince the cops that he walked in on the dead bodies. The case was ruled an alcohol induced suicide, the mother's fingerprints being found but nobody else's on the murder weapon. Given that Mei had no known relatives, she was in Inko's custody until they could resolve the matter. It only took a few days, but it soon became clear who she was staying with.

"What do you mean I have a little sister?" Izuku whisper shouted, due to the fact that Mei was sleeping in the next room.

"I mean that I am now Mei's legal guardian. Was this not something you wanted?" Inko asked. Her face frowned, worried that she had mistaken her son's intentions here.

"I wanted- no, I did not want this. But, I suppose it's what I've got," Izuku said, packing up his school supplies.

"Oh, alright!" Inko stated, before kissing her son's head and going to her bed. Izuku shook his head and went to the sofa, where he'd been sleeping for a while.

"I've got a little sister, huh," Izuku muttered before falling asleep.

Time skip five months

Mei didn't attend Aldera with Izuku, likely due to the toxic environment. Izuku offered to homeschool her, allowing her to spend more time with her inventions. The easiest way to deal with her was to treat her like a four year old. "If you do this, then you can do that. If you do this, I will get you that."

Simple, but effective.

On another note, the UA entrance exams were coming up, and Izuku was nearly done with the beach. Only a few piles of trash remained, and given his current pace, Izuku would finish within the next few days. This also had the benefit of building his physique. He was nowhere near as strong as some others, but he was substantially more muscled than 90% of his school, leaning more towards agility over strength. It was supplied by freerunning activities he often took part in, rooftop parkour being a big help in this regard.

As Izuku ran to the beach one day, he forgot that he cleaned it the night before. The entire beach was spotless, not even a speck of junk remotely in the area. A few people milled about, suddenly taking advantage of the new area, a beauty restored to what it once was. A hand laid on Izuku's shoulder, causing him to turn and look at Toshinori Yagi, looking proudly upon the scene.

"You've done well, Izuku," Toshinori stated. It was the first time since they'd met that Toshinori Yagi used his given name, and Izuku didn't care in the slightest.

"Thank you, Toshinori," Izuku said, responding in kind.

"Now, as promised. My power, and the lead to my spot as the number one hero and symbol of peace," Toshinori said, buffing up to All Might and plucking a hair off his haid.

"EAT THIS!"

"Okay coo- wait what the fuck?"

Here goes nothing, Izuku thought, taking a deep breath in.

"Why am I eating your hair again?" Izuku asked.

"One for All is passed through DNA. This is the easiest way I could see that I could give it to you," Toshinori stated, now back in his Small Might form.

"The greatest power in the word," Izuku mused, inspecting the hair. "Full of the power of the unbeatable number one hero, which grows as it is passed on, given to a psychotic teenager with a history of violence, a tendency to seek control over others, and ten months of training. Here goes nothing," Izuku muttered, and swallowed the hair.

As he did this, he felt the change immediately. His vision changed, going to the signature dark that showed every time he used his quirk. His strings appeared, each one taut, connecting to all the people, but none of the objects. Then, his vision swapped to bright, causing him to collapse, the unexpected changes taking place within him. His strings still remained, though they disappeared. As he looked up, the sky darkened, it taking over again, causing him to hyperventilate as he lost control of his quirk. Quick flashes of both black and white enveloped his vision, his sight leaving him as he could see the spectrum of colors disappearing. White and black, white and black, white and black, in an endless loop, switching, blinking. Then, suddenly, everything stopped.

Toshinori's hand was on his back, shaking him. He couldn't hear anything, but he saw lips moving, so he nodded at whatever he was saying. There was a ringing in his head, disorienting him, and his vision was sideways, almost like he was dizzy. With a spinning head and a loss of hearing, Izuku stood up, leaning on the stairs to the beach as he looked at his hands.

Willing his quirk into existence, Izuku was relieved to find the regular green bands, glowing with energy and straight with practice, attached to the plants to his side. There were strings on his thumb, index, and middle finger, exactly where he willed them to be. Exhaling a sigh of relief, Izuku relaxed. His quirk was working.

But, he did notice something strange. There was no darkness. There was always a darkness, one whenever he used his quirk. Where was it?

"Midoriya," Toshinori started, shuffling forward. "Why is there a rope around my neck connected to your hands?"

"What?" Izuku breathed, turning to look. True to his words, a green rope coiled around his neck, the noose tied around, waiting for him to take action. "What?" Izuku breathed, starting to hyperventilate. The string was in the wrist, the string was in the wrist, the string was in the wrist, the string was in the wrist, the string was in the wrist, it had to be, it always was, it must be, I'm just dreaming, this is all just a really bad dream. Several thoughts ran at lightspeed through Izuku's head, all connected to the thread around the number one hero's neck.

"Oh, it's in the wrist now," All Might said, causing Izuku to look up once more. Once again, the hero was not lying, the green thread entering the wrist. The usual bond had returned, and Izuku exhaled a sigh of relief, standing up. Then, he noticed it.

"You can see it?" Izuku asked, disbelievingly.

"Yeah," Toshinori replied, gingerly touching the string before it disappeared.

"Then that means One for All must have mutated my quirk," Izuku stated, looking at his hands. "Given that you can see it, and the world doesn't go dark when I use it, it must have changed once I received the quirk."

"World goes dark?" Toshinori asked, but he was ignored by Izuku.

"But you saw it around your neck, which means," Izuku trailed off, focusing slightly. As he predicted, the string connected to the toe this time, still without any of the previous side effects. Izuku first exhaled a breath, then a cough, then laughter. Full, blown out laughter. He finally could retaliate to Bakugou in school!

"I can control people!" Izuku shouted, though only Small Might heard him. "Any way I want!"

"Izuku Midoriya, stop using your quirk this instant!" Toshinori shouted, causing Izuku to look over, seeing what the problem was. The strings attached to Toshinori were dancing across his body, targeting all of his points, switching from wrist to toe to neck to heart to mouth to mind in a variety of orders, showcasing just what he could do now. But, with that realization came another, more grim one.

"I can kill anyone I want," Izuku said, too low to be heard by anyone. But somehow, Toshinori did.

"What?" Small Might asked.

"You know the string around your neck?" Izuku asked, receiving a nod. He had explained the basics of his quirk to All Might, omitting the two least common forms. "If I pull on it, you die."

All Might coughed some blood, looking in disbelief.

"I've done it twice, both accidental, both villains terrorizing the city. Both had their heads separated from their bodies as soon as I pulled it," Izuku said, looking at his hands.

Toshinori sucked in a gasp, still unbelieving of this whole situation. A kid, young as this, had the power to kill people? At least it was manageable earlier, when it only occured on some people, very rarely and only by chance. But, he had given the kid One for All. He had given the kid the power to switch the type of string. Now, Izuku could kill anyone he wanted, without any struggle.

What the hell did he just do?

So if you couldn't tell, this Izuku is based on c!Dream from the DreamSMP, more specifically the Dream in two animations. Those animations are Final Waltz by Sad-ist, and In My Head by Ros Artemis. Both are extremely well done, masters of their craft, so go check them out if you haven't already. (also like I said above, please favorite/follow/review or any combination i want happy brain juice)
