A/N: Just wanted to say thank you for the comments so far!
Now for some Castiel and Gabriel bonding time.
Chapter 5:
Dean awoke the next morning with a mouthful of dark hair in his face.
His face distorted into a look of disgust and confusion as he tried to move away, only to find the body next to him was practically latched onto him.
He looked down at the shorter form beside him.
Castiel?
The Angel was still deeply sleeping, his long black wings drooping over the side of the bed.
Dean then looked down between them, noticing the Angel had his hand in a tight hold, like it was the most important thing in the world.
It took him a while to remember how the hell they ended up in this position.
"Stop. Please."
Dean had awoken sometime in the middle of the night by the sound of light whimpers.
He would have fallen back to sleep, but the pleads got louder, sending him into a rush of instinct.
"Please. Stop! I'll… I'll be good!" The voice continued.
Dean sat up, looking over to where the Angel was.
He was laid out on the given blankets, tossing and turning, almost as if he was in a fight with something.
"Don't do this! Please!" He cried out.
Finally, Dean had heard enough.
"Castiel. Castiel! Hey. Wake up buddy. You're dreaming." Dean leaned over the Angel, gently tapping his shoulder a couple times.
That seemed to have worked, and he sat up quickly, spinning around to look at him.
However, instead of calming down, his eyes widened and panic rose again.
"I'm sorry…" Castiel whispered.
Deans brows lowered in confusion, "Cas…" he tried to reach out to him.
"No no. Please don't hurt me. Please don't hurt me! I didn't mean to wake you up. I'm sorry." Castiel continued to plead, backing up away from him.
"Alright. Alright. Stop. Stop!" Dean sighed tiredly, completely closing the distance, getting down on his knees, grabbing Castiel's hands, "I'm not gonna hurt you."
After a long moment of struggling and pleading, Dean had managed to pull the Angel into his arms.
They remained in that position for a long time.
Castiel, for once, froze at the sudden new movement.
"There. See? Not that bad, right?" Dean whispered.
He felt a light nod on his shoulder.
After a while, the Angel began to relax into his arms, and Dean was beginning to get tired again.
"Ok. Come on, you're gonna sleep in my bed with me." Dean finally spoke again, standing, pulling at the Angel's hand.
That began to stir panic in him again and he resisted a little as he stood, "B-but I'm not supposed to."
"Yeah well. We'll make it work. Plus I think it'll give us both some peace of mind." Dean said, guiding the Angel to his bed.
Dean hadn't realized he was playing with Castiel's hair until he shifted in his sleep, the Angel's knee gently brushing against Dean's.
It was then that he realized….
'Oh shit!' Dean suddenly tore himself out of the bed, waiting a split second to make sure Castiel was still asleep, before making a run for the bathroom.
He quickly shut the door before turning on the shower to the coldest setting.
Dean quickly undressed down to his boxers, where he was greeted by a painful erection.
'What the hell?'
He'd woken up hard plenty of times, but like this… with… with Him?
It wasn't him… was it?
No! It couldn't be.
He… He barely knew him.
He wasn't even gay!
Dean shook his head from the warring thoughts before finally removing his boxers and heading into the freezing depths of the shower.
Sam had set his alarm for 6 AM, so he'd have time to work on homework he had neglected last night.
He turned on the lamp at his desk and grabbed the books he needed.
He noticed Gabriel on the floor behind him, bundled up in the blankets Mary had brought in.
The Angel stirred when the alarm went off, but didn't make much of a fuss and kept sleeping.
At around 6:45, Sam went to the kitchen to start up coffee, lord knew he'd need it.
He noticed the truck was missing outside again, meaning one or both of their parents were at work already.
Once coffee was made, and he'd made a cup, or two, he headed back to his room.
Gabriel was awake this time, sitting up with his back against the wall, the blankets bundled around him, and a pile of papers in his hands that he was reading.
Sam rolled his eyes, closing the door, "What is that?"
"Sam Winchester Essay on the Laws of Nature." Gabriel read aloud before resuming.
"Well, can you put it back when you're done? It's for school." Sam said, deciding it best not to argue, setting his coffee on the table.
"Mmmhm." Gabriel said.
Sam hesitated at his desk a little longer, debating between just getting back to his homework and…-
"How's your wing?" Sam finally asked, turning back to him.
"It's fine." Gabriel said carelessly without looking up from the papers.
Sam wanted to ask again, but knew that was another argument ready to spark.
Instead, he just nodded before sitting back down, focusing back on his homework.
At 7:30, a knock sounded on his door.
"Yeah?" Sam called out, finishing up the last of one of his pages.
The door opened, but only slightly.
Sam looked up, noticing Dean.
He motioned him out.
Sam sighed, "Ok one minute. Let me get my stuff ready."
After he had all the papers and books in his bag, he left the room where Dean was waiting right outside.
"What's wrong?" Sam asked, immediately noticing the troubled look dean gave him.
"Well, first off. Mom and dad are at work so I'm taking you to school again. Second off… Cas has been asking if he can see Gabriel." Dean said.
Sam's brows lowered, "Cas? You mean, Castiel?"
Now Dean looked confused, "That's what I said."
"No, you said Cas." Sam smiled jokingly.
"… No I didn't. Anyway. How do you feel about Gabriel? I mean… obviously I'm gonna have to watch him while you're gone. So, I don't really see a problem with letting Cas-tiel and Gabriel be in the same room for the day. So…" Dean trailed off, waiting for confirmation.
"Yeah. That sounds good. Um, Gabriel's… fine. A little difficult, but, I think putting them together will be good for them. I mean, dad said he thinks they're brothers. Family. So. Just. Let them hang in my room for the day." Sam said.
Dean nodded, "Okay. Well. Uh. Well. Finish getting ready, I guess. I'll get Cas."
He walked off before Sam could correct him.
Sam shook his head before returning into the room.
Gabriel still hadn't moved.
Sam sighed, "Uh. I'm gonna take a shower in there. If you need anything, just yell, ok."
"Didn't need to know that. Don't really care." Gabriel said, before resuming his focus on one of his wings he had folded around to the front of his lap.
Sam felt his chest tighten.
Of course, he knew they were nowhere near friends, but he still didn't like seeing Gabriel so hateful towards him.
Sam sighed again, disappearing into the bathroom, taking a long needed shower.
Gabriel glanced over at the backpack sitting on the chair at the table.
A smirk crossed his face.
'I wonder how mad he'll get if I just dumped everything out.'
However, before he could move to do the deed, he heard another light knock come from the door.
"Sammy. We're coming in."
'We?' Gabriel's attention shot to the door, immediately standing as the door began to open.
He had observed enough to learn that knocking was the only way anyone was allowed in, and Sam wasn't in to answer.
Whatever insult he was preparing fell short when he saw who was with the older brother of Sam's.
"Castiel." Gabriel managed below a whisper.
Dean stepped aside, allowing the Angel to enter the room.
He did, practically running to Gabriel.
Gabriel immediately opened his arms to him, and they grabbed at each other, pulling each other into a tight embrace.
Gabriel buried his face into Castiel's neck, all six wings enveloping them both as Castiel wept quietly against him.
Neither barely heard the bathroom door open, and Sam exiting, who froze at the image.
Gabriel could barely see him through his wings, but sent him a glare.
Sam smiled nervously, putting his hands up as a sign of submission, before pointing over to his bag, signaling he was going to it, before quickly grabbing it and leaving the room as quick as he could, pulling Dean with him, door slamming shut.
After what felt like hours, Castiel had pulled away slightly.
"You doing okay? I mean, despite the circumstances." Gabriel asked, cupping his brother's face, checking him over for any marks or cuts.
Nothing.
Good.
"Yes. I've just missed you." Castiel said.
"Me too, kiddo." Gabriel sighed, sitting down on the bed, offering Castiel to join him.
Instead, he knelt down in front of him, looking concerned.
"Your wing…" He said, reaching up, lightly touching the curve of his middle right wing.
"Ah." Gabriel flinched slightly, "Yeah, that. It's fine. It's healing. Better than it was."
"What happened?" Castiel asked.
"Ah, you know me. Don't know when to keep my mouth shut." Gabriel chuckled, shrugging it off.
Castiel only looked more concerned, even scared, maybe slightly angry, "He punished you?!"
"Well… It was… a heat of the moment kinda thing. He was upset, I kept talking, he threw a book at me. Kid has good aim, I'll give him that." Gabriel said. "Hey. I'm fine. Don't worry about it. I've had worse. Definitely worse. Plus, he says he didn't mean it. He was practically on his knees begging for forgiveness."
"Did you?" Castiel asked.
"Ha. No." Gabriel said. "So, how about you. How's the other one treating you?"
"Fine." Castiel sighed, leaning back down against Gabriel again.
"Just… fine? What happened?" Gabriel asked warily.
"I…" Castiel's voice cracked again, "I had a nightmare."
Gabriel felt his chest tighten at that.
Castiel had had plenty of nightmares when they were in that place, and even when they were in separate cages, Gabriel had tried his best to comfort him.
This time he wasn't there for him.
"It was horrible. I was at that place again, and I was by myself… I… I accidentally woke up Dean…" Castiel explained.
Gabriel scoffed. Accidentally. He swore, whatever Dean did…
"He woke me up. I… I thought he was going to punish me, but… instead… he held me." Castiel finished quietly, almost questioning the ending.
Gabriel's eyes widened, glancing down at his brother, wondering if he'd just heard him right.
This wasn't how he was expecting the story to go at all.
"Afterwards, he let me sleep in his bed-"
"Wait a minute." Gabriel suddenly stopped him, pulling him back, "Did he touch you?"
Castiel's brows came together, looking confused, "Well, I mean… he let me hold his hand, after that I fell asleep again, I'm sure he did too. Are you ok?"
"Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine. But he hasn't hurt you? At all?" Gabriel asked.
"No. When I woke up, he was coming out of the bathroom, saying he was getting dressed. I asked if I could see you today, he said maybe." Castiel explained.
Gabriel thought over the story again.
He still couldn't shake off the image of Castiel in bed with that human.
Yes he was on Sam's bed last night, and they talked, but that was completely different.
This human… could have possibly taken advantage of his brother.
It wasn't unheard of that Angels were bought for such purposes. They are bought for any and every purpose, really.
It really made his blood boil.
"Gabriel, are you ok? You're warm." Castiel said, a hand feeling his cheek.
"Alright you two. Sammy's in school, so I'm in charge of both of you until- holy shit-!"
Dean couldn't have picked a worse time to come through that door.
Once Gabriel saw who it was, he tore away from Castiel's hold, crossing the room in about 3 steps before having Dean shoved against the door.
"Gabriel!" Castiel called from behind him, but he didn't listen.
"I knew this was gonna happen." Dean groaned out, letting out a light yelp as a hand went for his throat to keep him there.
"Did you touch my brother." Gabriel practically growled.
"What… the hell… are you talking… about." Dean choked out, trying to wrestle the angels arm that was practically iron.
"You know… what I'm talking about. Did you touch, my brother?" Gabriel said lowly, his face inches from Dean's. "Did you sleep with him?"
"What?!" Dean practically squeaked despite the position, struggling even more.
"Gabriel. Let him go, please! We aren't supposed to do this. Don't get into trouble for me, please. Just let him go, please. Let him go, Gabriel. Please." Castiel now stood next to them, trying to pull at Gabriel's shoulder.
He didn't budge.
"You should… listen to him… can't…. Breathe…" Dean wheezed.
Despite the truth, Gabriel could still hear the attitude in his voice. It pissed him off more.
"Answer me first." Gabriel said.
"N-no! Okay! I didn't…" Dean broke off, unable to say anymore, slowly falling unconscious.
"Gabriel. Don't. He didn't do anything, ok? Let him go!" Castiel pleaded once again.
This time, Gabriel listened to him, and finally released Dean, leaving the human to catch his own footing, before taking Castiel back over to the bed, making the distance between them like nothing happened.
It took Dean a few minutes to catch his breath, glancing over at the two angels on the bed.
Gabriel continued to glare at him, while holding Castiel, who gave him a short apologetic look, before resting against Gabriel again.
Dean decided it best not to have another round of pissing off the Angel for some unknown reason again, so he shakily opened the door and left the room.
A/N: Part 1 of 2 of Gabriel and Castiel bonding time. Next chapter they get more alone time. I like writing them for some reason.
Let me know what you guys think.
