Longer Description:

The Uchiha massacre happened a little differently than it did in the original series. There are two other survivors from the Uchiha clan. Those are Kaize and Rikane Uchiha. Itachi was unable to locate Kaize and his sister in time to execute them like did the rest of the clan except Sasuke. Now Sasuke is not the sole survivor and he still has family left in Konoha. What will happen as there is one more student in Naruto's class and age group who is also a skilled Uchiha? What will change and what will stay the same? Keep reading to find out.

-Prologue-

"YES! I DID IT!" Kaize Uchiha (age 8) yelled at the top of his lungs when he finally mastered the Katon: Gokakyou no jutsu. After mastering that jutsu, there was no doubt in his mind that his parents and his older sister would be proud of him. "I should probably get back." he thought whilst looking at the descending sun. "Dinner has probably been ready for a while."

On his way to the other end of the Uchiha district where him and his family lived, he came across a sight that made him sick to his stomach. His Uchiha brethren lay scattered and bloodied on the ground as if someone had cut them all down at the same time. He started running home as fast as his legs could carry him. He didn't really understand what was going on and he didn't care. He wanted to make sure his parents and his sister were okay.

On his way home he kept seeing more and more dead bodies, which made him more and more worried for his family's safety. Bursting through his front door and running up the stairs to his parent's room, he was met with a gruesome sight. His parents were just lying there on the floor. Lifeless. He went over to them and started crying and begging for them to open their eyes. "Mom, dad. Please wake up. Please open your eyes." he cried.

At that moment his older sister came rushing through the door to his parent's room. She stopped when she saw her little brother crying over her parent's dead bodies. "Kaize, we need to go." she commanded in a still soothing voice. "Nee-Chan! Someone is killing our family! I saw dead bodies everywhere on my way home!" he cried. "We need to get to somewhere safe." was all his sister Rikane (age 13) said. She placed her hand on his shoulder and Shunshined away to a different location in the village.

They were now at the entrance to the park. Children at about Kaize's age were still out playing, even though it was getting dark. Some of the children's parents were talking amongst each other while their kids played. One of the kids were sitting for himself all alone under an oak tree. It seemed like none of the kids wanted to play with him. That's why when the other kids and their parents were distracted with playing and talking, he was the only one that noticed the two strangers standing near the entrance. The tree he was sitting under was coincidentally only 20 feet from the entrance. The kid noticed that the other boy that looked to be about his age, was crying and hugging the older girl. He didn't know what had happened to the boy, but he felt a strong urge to go and talk to them. So he did just that. He stood up and walked over to them.

The girl seemed to tense up when she noticed him approach her and her brother. She made eye contact with the younger boy while still hugging her little brother. "What do you want kid? Can't you see were in the middle of something?" Rikane spat. Naruto (age 8) was shocked that a girl at that age didn't speak with any contempt towards him. Rather it seemed as if she was aiming her contempt towards another person entirely. "Who are you and what happened to you guys?" Naruto asked. That was when he noticed the blood on Kaize's clothes and the sad look in Rikane's eyes. The question seemed to calm Kaize down a bit as he turned around to look at the kid. When he did, Naruto noticed the puffy eyes and tear stains on the boy's cheeks. The boy didn't say anything to him, he just looked at him with immense pain in his blood red eyes. "Woah! Your eyes are almost glowing. How are you doing that? Can you teach me?" said Naruto, completely forgetting that the boy had been crying. After he said that, the older girl whom he assumed to be the boy's older sister, turned the boy around to look at his eyes. She was smiling with a pained expression when she looked into his single tomoe in both his sharingan. "Kaize, you've awakened your sharingan." she said. Kaize was about to say something when he suddenly fell to the ground. Or that was what would've happened if his sister didn't catch him first. "What happened to him?" Naruto asked a bit shocked. "It looks like he just fainted. It's a bit concerning but it makes sense considering what he's seen today. She said. "More importantly, I need to find somewhere safe for us. The Uchiha district is not an option. I should've known something like this would happen."

"Hey kid, do you have somewhere me and my brother can stay for the night?" she asked. Naruto looked even more shocked than he did before. Then his shocked expression turned into that of a happy one. "She doesn't treat me like the rest of the village does." He thought. "Sure! You guys can stay at my place." he said with a big smile on his face. "Where do you live kid?" She asked. He told her the address and then she picked her brother up with one hand, and put her other hand on Naruto's shoulder. In a smokeless shunshin, they appeared right outside of Naruto's apartment. "Wow! You have to teach me how to do that sometime nice lady!" he exclaimed loudly. She smiled at him and gestured for him to unlock the door. "Maybe someday, as thanks for helping me and my brother kid." She said. "Oh, silly me. I haven't even introduced myself to you yet. My name is Rikane Uchiha and this is my little brother Kaizi Uchiha. What's your name kid?" she said. "My name is Naruto Uzumaki Dattebayo! I'm gonna become the greatest Hokage this village has ever seen!" He exclaimed with determination in his eyes. "Wait a minute. Kaize… Why does that name sound familiar...? Does he go to the academy Rikane…-san?" Naruto asked almost forgetting to be respectful to nice people. "Yes he does, Naruto-kun. Have you seen him before?" she asked. "Miss Rikane sure does ask a lot of questions." he thought. "I think we go to the same class actually. I just didn't recognize him with those red eyes of his. Is that normal?" he asked. "That is not normal for most people in this village, but for my brother and I it is. It's a kekkei genkai." she said. "Oh like the Shodaime's Mokuton right?" he said. "That's right Naruto-kun. It's special to our family-" She paused to surpress a yawn. "Tell you what, I'll tell you more about kekkei gankai tomorrow if you'd like. Right now, all I want to do is get some sleep." she said in a tired voice.

Naruto was feeling a bit tired himself, so he took a futon from his closet that was given to him as a present from the Sandaime. The old man had said he would need it when he became a ninja, since they don't always sleep inside in comfy beds when they're on missions. He put the futon next to his bed and offered them both to Rikane and her brother. The lady thanked him and put her brother in the bed and covered him with a the bed's blanket. Afterwards she laid down on the futon. Naruto got her a blanket and a pillow and said goodnight to the nice lady. He proceeded to close the door to his bedroom and walk over to the closet to grab another spare pillow and blanket. He made sure he was comfortable on the couch and proceeded to fall asleep and dream about ramen and all it's heavenly glory.

I know it's a very short chapter, but this is my first time writing a fanfiction story. I have had a lot of ideas on my mind recently and I just really wanted to get them out there. Let me know what you think of my first chapter ever, and pm me or review if you spot any spelling errors or grammatical errors.

Also, I have a lot of ideas, but the whole story isn't set in stone. I'm kinda making it up as I go, but there are a couple things that I want to see in the future chapters. Still, review or pm me if you have any ideas. I can't promise that I'll use them, but I'll definitely consider them.
