The light was starting to stream through her eyes. Her neck was aching from being broken for the second time in less than 24 hours. She was at the Mikaelson's as she was in a room that wasn't familiar to her, which meant that Stefan and Damon had left her here. Somewhere in the house, she could hear the flow of blood flowing through a vampire's veins. She wanted it. No, she needed it.

Using her senses to guide her, she crept around the house. She was the predator after her prey. As the pumping got louder, she knew she must have been nearby. There must have been 3, maybe 4 in the room, she had options brilliant.

Upon entering the room, the look in her eyes made Klaus tense.

"Hello Love, I didn't hear you get up."

The others just sat there, she was so hungry she didn't fully register who was there or what she was doing. She sped forward, quicker than Klaus expected and latched herself onto him. She bit down roughly and began to suck on his neck. She forgot how good he tasted.

"Caroline, that's enough. You don't need anymore." He said gently.

But it was no use, she was in the zone and wanted to suck him dry. He began to stroke her hair and was soothing her, she seemed to snap back to reality and unhook herself from his neck, remaining close.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me. I was upstairs, and then I was so hungry. I just couldn't help myself."

"Caroline, it's fine. I'm fine."

As I came back around, Rebekah, Elijah and Kol were all sat down, mouths agape. Rebekah was fidgeting, clearly keen to say something.

"How is that fine? She was stronger and quicker than she should be and you think she's fine. Would someone care to explain what the fuck is going on?"

Before she could answer, Klaus took a protective stance in front of Caroline.

"Now, now, that is between Caroline and me."

"Nik, if she is here, I'm assuming it isn't her own choice which means that something is wrong and based on what we just witnessed, I'd say that it's bad as she was able to overpower you."

"Rebekah, it's fine."

Before Klaus could say anything else, she stepped forward and began to talk.

"We're not too sure, Elena got captured by some creepy professor at college. I went to help rescue her and ended up like this. I still want to drink blood, however, it is vampire blood I'm craving rather than human."

"Of course, bloody Elena, for once could she not get into trouble and expect a rescue mission." Scoffed Kol.

"Well it wasn't entirely her fault, he captured her when he suspected she was a vampire and that's how she ended up in his clutches."

"Surely she could have overpowered him."

"I don't know, you'd think but it doesn't matter. I went to rescue her and then I ended up with a needle in my neck and a craving to go with it."

Kol sat there pondering on something she'd just said, however, there was no point dwelling on it. Especially, when she was covered in the hybrid's blood. She slowly and reluctantly moved fully away from Klaus.

"I need to get cleaned up."

"Of course, there's an ensuite off your bedroom you should find everything you need up there."

"I don't think I've said it yet, so thank you for everything. I promise I'll try not to eat any of you."

"No worries sweetheart it isn't your fault just go get yourself ready. I want to take you to meet a couple of people later."

"Okay."

She slipped away quietly and slowly made her way upstairs while the original vampire stayed in their sitting room. Once they could hear the shower all hell broke loose.

"What is happening Nik?"

"I'm not exactly sure, Tweedledum and Tweedledee dropped her here and when I walked outside she was feeding off Stefan."

"Seriously, Little miss control was feeding off someone that isn't right at all."

"Don't you think I know that but what was I meant to do leave her with them? They'll get her killed, I can't allow that."

"Still not over the cheerleader I see then?"

"Now is not the time for that Kol, as you can see Miss Forbes is in some trouble, but I don't think it's her we have to worry about."

"No riddles dear brother, what do you mean?"

"She was stronger than you Niklaus, so how would normal vampires cope. She is in the supernatural capital of the world, where vampire blood is spilt. She won't cope with that. Maybe she needs..."

"Don't you dare finish that sentence!" Klaus roared "We will help her, once she has regained some control of her bloodlust she can go home. I'm going to take her to see a witch later to see if they can figure it out."

From the corner of the room came a very childish snort from Kol.

"What is it Kol?"

"Witches, as lovely as they are, won't be any help. It all comes from the injection and if I'm right then she is in bigger trouble than I think."

"What do you mean?"

"During one of my dagger free periods, I spent some time in some colleges. Where I met a slightly crazy professor, who should I say experimented on vampires? He wanted to eradicate them without getting his hands dirty, so was trying to make them into weapons. Up until now, I hadn't heard anything about them but they're back in business."

"Let's not beat around the bush Kol," Rebekah said bored.

"Okay, okay. Tell me how much do you know about the Augustine Society."

"Not as much as you so proceed."

"They would inject vampires with this serum to make them crave vampire blood, but it also made them faster, stronger and in some cases immune to vervain, the sun and even a stake to the heart. As far as I'm aware, they had all failed dying moments after they were injected. If Caroline is still alive she is the perfect specimen for them, as they have made her into the perfect weapon. We need to keep her under control or a bloodbath will hit in no time."

"Let's not be dramatic Kol, that won't happen."

"You don't think so Elijah, she almost overpowered Nik who is the strongest here. I think if she didn't like him so much he would have been as good as dead."

"Is there a cure?"

"Not as far as I'm aware, I might be wrong but we need to check first who this professor was. It was a family society, so until I hear his name we can't be sure."

Klaus was pacing, clearly deep in thought. He took his phone out of his pocket and dialled a number. After 2 rings the other person picked up.

"Papa hybrid."

"My least favourite Salvatore."

"How can we help, Barbie killed anyone yet."

"You're lucky you're not still here, remarks like that get people hurt Damon. I'm after a name, can you tell me the name of the professor who injected Caroline."

"Wes Maxfield."

The colour in Kol's face drained away and at that moment they knew he was right all along. They had the perfect weapon in their house, and she was potentially a ticking time bomb.

"Thank you, that'll be all."

"Just quickly, there was another vampire with her there. He hasn't been injected with anything but he might be able to help. He's on his way to you now."

"Thank you, Damon."

"So that's it, she's unstoppable," said Bekah

"I wouldn't say that Bekah, we can help her gain control. I still think we may need a witch."

Before anyone could say another word, an ear-piercing scream erupted from upstairs. They sped through the house to see what could only be described as carnage.
