The room was trashed, curtains askew, the bed ripped into hundreds of pieces and every ornament was destroyed. In the centre of the room sat Caroline, her head in her hands and breathing very quickly. No one dared approach her at first, based on what happened downstairs earlier. Surprisingly, it was Kol who made the first move.

"Caroline, are you okay?"

She tentatively looked up, Kol could see she had been crying, her eyes rimmed with redness.

"No, I'm so hungry; I couldn't find something; then I got angry; then this happened."

"Alright, what are you hungry for?"

"Blood."

"If we go and put some of ours in a blood bag, are you able to wait, it'll only take 10 minutes?"

She slowly nodded the three left the room and went to put some of their blood in a blood bag. Plus a little bit extra, as they had a feeling this would be a common occurrence. Kol stayed behind to help Caroline.

"Caroline, what is it you needed?"

"Just some clothes, I didn't bring anything with me but, Klaus said I would find some and I'm not sure where."

"Okay, and that made you angry?"

"You wouldn't understand."

"Try me"

"I don't know how much you know about me, but I'm the one who has their life together and not the person who is a mess and can't control herself. I'm a neurotic control freak, and I hate feeling out of control. So not being able to find something as simple as clothes is not the behaviour of someone who has their life together."

Kol was taken aback by her answer.

"Darling, all of us slip up with self-control and that is nothing to be ashamed of. Whoever has told you that and made you feel this small is a waste of space and should not influence your choices. You are not out of control, you need to re-adjust. You will get there."

"Thank you Kol, you know you're quite nice."

"Don't let anyone else know that, I have a reputation to uphold."

When the others returned to the room, they weren't sure what to expect, however, it wasn't what they walked into. Kol and Caroline sat laughing about something or another just like old friends.

"Oh no, here they come, fun's over darling."

She looked up and caught Klaus' eyes and just sent him a nod to let him know that she was okay. He didn't seem convinced but decided that she would let him know if she wasn't.

"Okay, we have your blood. Where do you want it?" Rebekah asked.

"Thank you, you didn't have to though. Anywhere is fine."

"Well, other than Nik, I'd rather you didn't take it from the source."

Klaus growled at Rebekah, but she just sat there and laughed. She wasn't sure why, but it was just an amusing idea.

"So whose do you want love?."

She wandered over to the pile, her mouth salivating, she was looking at the three bags. Something about the middle bag was calling to her. All smelled delicious, but there was something so inviting about that middle bag. She picked up the bag and almost instantly ripped it open with her teeth, forgetting that the others were watching, she drank every last drop of the bag of blood.

"Bloody hell Caroline, you only drank 20 minutes ago."

"Bekah, do shut up, she can't help it."

She was too busy cleaning herself up to even listen to what they were bickering about.

"That's better, thank you for doing that. "

"We'll have more filled up later for you, hopefully, that'll tide you over for now. We don't want you to keep drinking too much, it won't help with the transition."

"Okay, just a quick question, whose blood was it I had?"

"That would be mine sweetheart."

She could feel her cheeks blushing, of course, it would be his, there is just something so enticing about the smell and taste of his blood. Silence filled the room, she was too embarrassed to even answer. Klaus cleared his throat before stepping forward to speak to Caroline.

"Love, if you get yourself cleaned up, I want to take you to a witch."

"I thought you said we couldn't trust witches."

"Well, this one I'm sure can be trusted, but if she proves that she can't I can quickly remedy that."

"Murder is not the answer Klaus."

"I wasn't going for murder, just a lovely torture session."

"Whatever, I'm going to get sorted. Do you happen to have any clothes for me?"

"Bekah has put some of hers in my room for you to wear until we can get you some new ones."

As she left the room the siblings remained until they heard the bedroom door click.

"You need to keep her under wraps Niklaus, if she walks around New Orleans and smells some blood she'll cause carnage."

"Thank you for stating the obvious Elijah. Don't you think I know that?"

"Changing the subject completely, how is a witch going to help?"

"I'm hoping she'll be able to lessen the hunger a tad and transfer it into a piece of jewellery that Caroline can wear. Just until we can get it all under control."

"That won't help, we need to ride it out. If you lessen it, that means she'll have to wear it forever. I love witches, but I don't think we can trust them on this. She is a perfect weapon to eradicate vampires and you want to hand her over to the witches, they'll be able to feel it and will plan to use her in some way or another. Is that what you want?"

"Don't you think I know Kol? But what can we do?

"Teach her control."

"She has none!"

"She doesn't want to feel out of control, you take that choice away from her will do exactly that."

"She will be too dangerous if we let her out of the house, and we can't keep her cooped up here. She will go mad!"

"If she resents you for this Nik, don't say I didn't tell you so."

Klaus went to leave the room, and stood just outside the door frame was Caroline. She had heard everything.

"Sweetheart."

"Don't sweetheart me, I told you I didn't need fixing and using a witch will do that."

"Just hear me out, if you hurt any local vampires you will be killed and I can't protect you from that."

"What happened to I'm the King of New Orleans."

"Monarchy change."

"They hate you don't they."

"Well."

"I'll take that as a yes if you want me to see the witch fine, but I want Kol to come with us."

Klaus was about to argue back, but she carried on talking before he could get a word out.

"He knows the most about witches, so he should be able to tell if they are trustworthy or not. No Kol then no witch."

"Fine, have it your way."

They made their way to the front door, but before they reached it a loud knock trembled on the heavy wooden door. Klaus went and opened the door, to see an unfamiliar man standing there.

"And who are you?"

"He said you'd be like this, I'm Enzo."

"That doesn't answer my question."

"If you ask the lovely blonde who I am, that may give you a better answer."

The door opened wider and Caroline's face lit up and she let out a squeal.

"Enzo! You're here, why are you here?"

"Hello gorgeous, I'm the cavalry just to try and stop you from killing everyone and everything."

"I'm going to ignore that comment, I can't believe you're here."

The jealousy was radiating off Klaus, but he had no right they weren't a couple and I'm sure the Salvatores would have said if they were together.

"Caroline would you like us to show your..."

"Friend Klaus, he is just a friend."

"Lovely, Bekah show Enzo to one of the guest rooms please."

As Enzo was left to settle in, Klaus, Caroline and Kol made their way to see the witch.

"You know, all you had to do was ask whether he was my boyfriend, rather than do your whole alpha male thing."

"Well love, is he?"

"Of course not, not my type at all. I have a thing for a different Brit." She stopped in her tracks not quite realising what she had just said. Klaus just smirked, but said nothing for the rest of the journey, knowing full well he didn't need to win her over anymore.

"We're here, stay close to us Caroline."

"One sense of weirdness Kol and I want you to make us leave."

The witch left her house, clearly sensing they were here.

"You're here, brilliant let's get started."
