Roddy woke up.

As he slowly opened his eyes, he could hear Spike's voice saying, "He's coming to!"

That's when Roddy realised he was still in the Toad's lair. He closed his eyes as he got to his feet. Then he noticed that he felt different. Whitey and Spike were standing in front of him.

"Rita!" yelled Roddy, before he covered his mouth in disbelief. There was something wrong with him. In fact, for some reason, he wasn't even talking in his own voice!

"I'm sorry," said Whitey, "but Rita escaped when you were sleeping."

"And she had the tiger's eye with her," Spike added.

"The tiger's eye?" Roddy asked.

"Uh, yeah," replied Spike. "You said you wanted it to focus on your revenge plan."

"Revenge plan?!" shouted Roddy.

Spike and Whitey looked at each other in worry.

"Boss, are you OK?" asked Spike.

Roddy froze in terror. "Boss?" he finally managed to say.

He slowly walked up the stairs of the lair and looked out the window. To his horror, the Toad was staring back at him! Roddy screamed and the Toad in the glass screamed as well. Roddy looked down at his hands and realised that they were warty, green, toad hands. Roddy looked back at the Toad in the glass. That's when he realised exactly who he sounded like – the Toad!

"No," cried Roddy. "No! I'm the Toad!"

Spike and Whitey got confused. What had gotten into their 'boss'?

"Maybe we should leave him alone for a few minutes," Spike suggested as he left with Whitey.

Right before they left, Whitey reached out for the Portable Mind Swapper.

But without even looking, Spike told Whitey, "Don't even think about it!"

Whitey groaned and ran after Spike.

Roddy just couldn't stop staring at his reflection. He was stunned.

"This can't be happening to me," he cried. "Well, at least it can't get any worse."

Suddenly, a fly flew into the lair. For some reason, Roddy had a desperate urge to eat it. So he stuck his long, pink tongue out – but it missed the fly and hit a wall instead. Roddy tried to pull his tongue back in, but it was stuck to the wall.

Roddy groaned. "Thoodiv kep my outh thut."

Meanwhile, on Rita's boat, she managed to escape with the tiger's eye. She could easily tell that 'Roddy' was still passed out, so she decided to use her airhorn to wake him up.

The terrible noise made the Toad wake up, but he shut his eyes and put his hands on his head in anger. (For some reason, he could feel something on both sides of his head.) When that noise was over, the Toad removed his hands, opened his eyes and looked around.

"What's going on?!" he demanded. "Where am I?!"

The Toad stopped. "How am I doing that?" he asked. There was definitely something wrong with his voice.

He turned around and saw Rita at the controls of her boat. She showed the Toad the tiger's eye.

"You don't know what's going on?" she laughed. "We got away with the tiger's eye, that's what!"

"Hand it over, Rita!" the Toad ordered as he reached out to grab the gem.

But before he could grab it, the Toad caught sight of his hand. It looked different. He looked at both of them and saw smooth, brown, rat hands. In terror, the Toad looked behind him and saw the tail of a rat.

Rita was confused. "What's up with you, Roddy?"

"Uh, who's Roddy?" the Toad asked.

"You are," explained Rita.

The Toad took a step back and looked out of the boat. He gasped. Instead of his own reflection, a familiar rat was looking back at him in the sewage water.

The Toad gasped. "This can't be!" He looked at himself again. "I'm a rat?!"

"Of course you're a rat," Rita sighed. "What else?"

"Forget it," the Toad shouted as he stomped towards Rita. "Give me the tiger's eye or…"

But before he could even finish his sentence, he fell into the room below the boat's deck, landing headfirst on a floor made of junk!

"Ow!" he groaned as he grabbed the right side of his head. Then he remembered who that rat in the water was.

"No wonder I look and sound so different!" cried the Toad. "Somehow I've turned into Millicent Bystander. Wait, if I'm Rita's friend, then he must be in my body! We must've had some sort of brain switch or something!"

Rita looked through the trapdoor. "You OK, Roddy?"

"Yes, I'm good," replied the Toad.

As soon as Rita left, the Toad looked all over his body again.

"My worst nightmare just came to life," he exclaimed.

At first, the Toad thought this was the worst thing that ever happened to him, when he stopped.

"Wait a minute," said the Toad thoughtfully. "Maybe this transformation isn't so bad after all! This could be my one-way ticket to getting the tiger's eye! Now, let's see if it's down here."

Back at the Toad's lair, Roddy grabbed onto his tongue with his green hands and tried to pull his tongue off the wall. He pulled and pulled, but it wouldn't budge.

"Ith like hith thalyva is thuperglue!" cried Roddy. "Gotta! Get! Thith! Thupid! Tongue! OFF!"

As Roddy said 'off', he managed to unstick his tongue from the wall. It shot back into his mouth.

"OK, now I need to figure out how I ended up like this," he said to himself. "The last thing I remember before passing out is getting hit by some sort of lightning. But if that was responsible, then where did it come from? We don't get lightning storms down here these days!"

He looked around and saw a small box with two nozzles. Roddy walked towards the box and picked it up. He read the words on the big button.

"Portable Mind Swapper?" Roddy asked. "Of course! This must have made me swap places with the Toad!"

Then he got worried. "But if I'm in the Toad's body, the Toad must be in my body. That must mean Rita thinks he's me!"

(Musical Number: I Can't Believe It!)

(Note: This is sung to the tune of Oh, Biology from Freaky Friday)

Roddy (in the Toad's body): I can't believe I'm in the body of an amphibian

One that freezes anybody he hates

This moment is presumably immune to oblivion

I don't think I'll recover from this rate

The Toad (in Roddy's body): Sure, this rodent body is one I loathe being in

But really, it's got its advantages

When I get the tiger's eye, it's properties I'm breathing in

To Millicent, I'll give him some damage!

Both: I can't believe it, but I'll never admit

Roddy (in the Toad's body): To the Toad's hench rats

The Toad (in Roddy's body): To Rita, that brown rat

Both: No, I won't let them, won't let them find out

That I'm in this new body, I'll never

Go tell them, never!

Just then, Spike and Whitey came back into the Toad's lair. Roddy immediately hid the device behind his back.

"OK, we've left you alone, and we think you've waited long enough," Spike told 'the Toad'. "So, you're still after the tiger's eye?"

"Uh, yes, I still want that gemstone!" replied 'the Toad'. "That pesky rodent, Rita still has it, as well as that pesky Rod- uh, I mean, Millicent Bystander. I want you two to go and fetch the tiger's eye."

"You've got it, boss," replied Spike.

"Hey, what's that?" Whitey asked as he pointed behind 'the Toad's' back.

"Nothing!" 'the Toad' replied angrily. "Now capture those rats, nab the tiger's eye, and make it snappy!"

Spike nodded. "To the Rat Mobiles!"
