I am pretty new to this so please go easy on me. I'll try to update this every week if I can but I might miss by a day or two. Anyway I don't own RWBY or any of the stuff I'll be using to make this fanfic.
In a small room a teen of Asian descent was beginning to relax after a long's day work. Laying down after grabbing a book he just started to flip a page when there was a small "poof" near his head. Alarmed in a second, he summoned a white flame and lashed out only to see nothing was at the area he scorched. Seeing his room burned instead of the person he was slightly pissed but set the emotion aside for a moment as he knew immediately which being was in his room that had teleportation access to his room since there was only one creature who could avoid his reaction speed among those, he's fought that were alive.
"Wasn't that a bit extreme little sun you nearly burned my fur?" teased a small cat like creature with pristine white fur and red eyes.
"I was just sent on a mission to repair a fractured timeline that was being invaded by demons so excuse my jumpiness sir, but next time may you use the door?" said "little sun" slightly aggravated but resigned to his superior. 'I swear this cat will kill me one day with its antics.'
"That's no fun for either of us now, is it?" laughed the cat smugly with an amused gleam in its eye. "Anyway, my visit shall be short, I just need you to do me a small favor before I'm sent off on a mission care to hear me out?" Asked the cat in a more serious tone.
"As long as it doesn't require me to kill anyone, I'm up for it. I still haven't completely gotten the blood smell out of my coat from the last "favor" you had me do." tiredly said the teen.
"It's nothing bloody and its low risk for someone of your caliber Yin." said the cat. Yin hesitated for a second before nodding his agreement. "A timeline is about to be fractured and I as of now do not know why they have fractured neither do my associates or superiors. I will be sent to scout it out, but I want you to retrieve people from this timeline and put them in the 'Theatre' and have them react to various other timelines and universes while sending me a live feed."
"You think entities from other universes are fracturing it and that these people you want me to kidnap these people to observe their reactions and see if they find anything familiar, so you have an idea of what you're looking for?" questioned Yin. Seeing the nod from his superior he asked, "What if they do not know anything involving the fracture? It's against protocol to keep residents of fractures in our dimensions you know that sir."
Seeing his friends doubt in his abilities the cat scoffed, "Don't worry so much I've persuaded the higher ups to allow it." As Yin opened his mouth to say something he continued with, "Yes, I know it's against protocol, but something feels wrong with this mission, and I don't doubt my instincts. Do you doubt my instincts?" Knowing how many times said instincts kept him alive Yin shook his head. "No then, good."
"When do we start and what shall I have them react to?" asked Yin.
"We start today, and I already have a set of things for them to react to. I have all things set up such as rooms, food, bathroom, and the transmission equipment has been set up already so all that is needed of you is to watch over them. I've set their files in my 'theater' as you call it and that's all I wanted to tell you about." finished the cat.
"Ok I'll go over now then sir." sighed Yin. Opening a portal and walking towards he heard a few last words from his superior.
"Good see you later little sun." laughed the cat. There was a "poof", and he was gone from sight.
Shift to Beacon Dorm
"Everyone hurry up were about late for the Docs class and I don't want extra homework." Yelled Ruby team leader of team RWBY. "Weiss and Blake go to class I'll use my semblance to catch up with you. Yang I will drag you if we miss his cla-." Ruby sentence was cut off as she disappeared in front of them.
"Yang get out here right now Ruby is go-"Weiss's panicked shout was cut off as she was disappeared also. Blake didn't even get to yell as she was gone before she could open her mouth or shift to a combat stance. Yang was already gone before she Ruby even said her sentence. It was also silent across the hall from their room and if it was checked would see a messy room full of team JNPR's items. A similar situation played out in another area of the dorm, Beacon Tower, The Badlands, and Mount Glenn as multiple people from different factions disappeared without a trace.
Shift to the 'Theatre'
"I need to make sure I have all of them lets see Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, Raven, James Ironwood, Qrow, Glynda, Salem, Watts, Hazel, Tyrian, Emerald, Cinder, Mercury, Mariah, Jaune, Nikos, Nora, Ren, and Neo." talking to himself and looking around Yin couldn't see anyone missing so he moved on. "Hmm ok I didn't miss anyone now all I have to do is wake them up. I should wake them up together and get all the drama done with before something happens…. This is a bigger pain then I thought it'd be." regret sounding in his tone from having more work to do. Sighing he released the magic used to keep them asleep he inhaled deeply and yelled at the top of his lungs, "WAKE UP." Startling everyone awake he watched as they all drew weapons on him before noticing each other in the room. Clap, clap, clap each one louder than the other getting their weapons aimed at him again. "Ok I can't believe I forgot to take your weapons and powers that was my mistake." Before they could even process what he said he snapped his fingers and took it away making each cry out with alarm except a few who turned even more hostile.
"Milady what do you suggest we do?" questioned in a low tone Watts eyeing Yin, Ozpin, and Ironwood warily. "My aura is gone… and my weapon has disappeared along with the others including our enemies and I'm guessing your powers are restricted to judging by our captors lack of panic."
"Watts do you think me blind?" questioned Salem and seeing Watts shake his head in panic she tells him harshly, "Then quiet while I think if you have nothing useful to contribute." Seeing him back away she went back to observing everyone and her surroundings in what appeared to be a theatre mostly focusing on Ozma.
"Professor Ozpin any idea what's going on right now because I'm really confused right now? My aura is also gone which is a very bad feeling right now." stated Yang in a panicked tone staring at Neo who just gave her a smug smile that was just slightly off.
"He took my baby!" dramatically said ruby clutching where Crescent Rose was a second ago.
"Well Miss Xiao Long our captor is waiting on us to ask him questions his questions. Am I right…?" said Ozpin to Yang then directed is question to Yin.
"Your right Ozzy I was just waiting on you all to get yourselves settled. I apologize for the abruptness of your kidnapping, but it was requested of me by my superior for a favor he needed." said Yin with a shrug and a wince.
"Give me back my baby you monster!" yelled Ruby to Yin who looked confused for a sec only to gain an amused look a millisecond later.
"I said questions Ruby not requests. I'm afraid that's not an option as of now." Yin said with an amused glint in his eyes.
"As of now you said. That means we will have this option later?" questioned Ozpin and seeing Yin nod his head he asked with a firmer tone, "Why are we here exactly? You mentioned a superior who is he?"
"Good were getting somewhere now. Ok first you're here because your timeline has fractured, broken, shattered and my superior wants to find out why exactly. He thinks you all might be of some help in finding the anomaly that caused this so we can finish this faster and not take years fixing your world."
"Wait your saying our world has been… broken. Do you expect us not believe that? We were there only minutes ago nothing that major could have happened without someone noticing! Also, how could we have destroyed the world or have been involved with it?" disbelievingly said Glynda her along with most of the guests sending him looks of disbelief momentarily forgetting the Queen of Grimm standing across the theatre.
"It's not necessarily that you've all destroyed it but that you've probably seen something, or someone involved with it being destroyed." said Yin. Seeing them still not believing him he decided to just leave the topic for later. Sighing he said, "Ok you don't believe that's fine, and I understand so; I'm going to move on to the next question which was about my superior right?" Sending Ozpin, a questioning look to which he responded with a nod still mulling over the first questions answer, "My superior is a mischievous rule breaker that has no care for your feelings in this matter and no you don't know him trust me if you did you would've known where we are. Do you have anything else to ask or can we start?"
"You neglected to mention why we are here exactly one of Ozma's previous questions." spoke Salem in eerily calm tone staring at Yin. She figured if her powers were not working alongside her magic, she might as well go along with this act for now and see if it grants her any benefits. Sending Ozpin straight into a panic which he hid at the fact Salem was speaking his true name while it also confused everyone (except her order) that were in the room.
"Ah right thank you Salem I completely forgot about that thank you. You all are here to react to different timelines and universes separate or intertwined with yours and if you don't believe me, you will soon so sit own in those comfortable looking chairs while I go start everything." spoke Yin gesturing for everyone to take a seat while he started to disappear somewhere.
"He's disappearing into little lights…..." questioned Jaune looking so very done with everything at that moment.
"Ren…" spoke Nora.
"No, I don't think he'll teach you how to do that Nora." sighed Ren.
"But it looks so cool, and I don't think it's a semblance so he might be able to teach me." excitedly spoke Nora who stunned about everyone in the room except for a few.
"Correct Nora he's not been using aura the entire time we were here." said Ozpin sipping coffee from who knows where. He might not have his combative powers, but it looked like he could still sense things without them.
"Then what has he been using to do all of this?" asked Nikos. To which Ozpin and his circle didn't give an answer to. While Salem's her followers were tempted to answer they figured it better not to act unless told to by their lady. As Salem moved, she gathered the attention of everyone and when she sat own, they remembered the instructions from their captor and sat down along with her.
"Good now lets get this started. Today you will be watching three universes." stated Yin from somewhere as the massive screen turned on in front of them.
