Quinn looked at Chris as she walked out of the room.
"That mother fucker actually said it was consensual?"
"Yes. He says they met at the gym and she invited him back to her place for sex."
"She would never do that." he replied. "She has a couple of exes who would gladly sleep with her again if she wanted. And she would certainly never pick up some stranger and certainly not Barrett."
"I know that. And we're going to make sure we can prove it. But you've got to try and control your temper in front of her. She's been through something traumatic and she doesn't need to be around you when you're angry."
"I'll try."
"You need to try those exercises Dr. Sandow suggested. The calming ones." He smiled a little.
"I remember. He told me my happy place wasn't appropriate."
"That's because your happy place was naked on a beach..." she said trailing off.
"With you."
"Yeah." She replied. "Well, did you talk to Tricia about staying with you while you get her apartment redone?"
"I did but she doesn't want to stay with me. I told her she had no choice in matter." He laughed. "But she tells me she has plenty of people she could stay with. And by that I mean ex boyfriends. Namely, Alex, Dwayne and Justin." He sighed. "I know they can protect her but she should stay with me."
"Then convince her that it's because you want her there and not because you feel like she needs to be there."
He sighed. "I'm trying to protect her and it just seems that I make it worse. She thinks I'm trying to be dad and she won't even let me call them. She doesn't want them to know what happened. Doesn't she realize once this is all over the paper, they will. I mean Wade Barrett is big news."
"As true as that is, you need to respect her wishes. I'll talk to her." He nodded and Quinn headed into Tricia's room.
"So, you get out of here tomorrow." Quinn said to her.
"Yeah. And Chris said something about my apartment being blocked off?"
"Yeah. The crime scene unit is working on it. So you can't stay there." Quinn replied. "You can stay with Chris. Just for a little bit."
"And have him hovering? No thanks. I'm sure I can find another place to stay."
"Tricia, you're been through something horrible. You need your brother."
"I know but Chris will hover like my dad would. I don't need protection twenty-four seven."
"Yes, you do."
"But you have Wade in custody."
"If you don't want to stay with Chris, how about you come stay with me then?"
"What?" Tricia asked.
"Come and stay with me. You would have a protection detail and we could have some girl talk."
"Tricia, please." She heard from the door. "Stay with Quinn or with me. I know you could stay with someone else but I would feel better if you were with me or Quinn."
Tricia looked over and looked at Chris and then back at Quinn. "Alright, I'll stay with Quinn."
"I'll come see you everyday. I promise." She nodded.
Jon sighed as he looked over the evidence. Randy felt they had a good chance to finally get Wade behind bars. Unlike with Kaitlyn, Tricia was alive and willing to testify against him. Randy told Jon to question Tricia's ex's and see what they know about her. Especially with Wade saying it was consensual rough sex. Randy wanted to know exactly from her ex's if that was something she was into in.
He looked up as Vince walked into the room. "You got solid evidence?"
"Positive ID from the victim and semen recovered from the rape kit was a match. He says it was consensual but she's got welts on her back and her eye is almost swollen shut. He beat and raped her just like he did Katilyn."
"Except she survived." Vince said to him. "Why?"
"To taunt Irvine." Jon replied. "He told her to tell her brother hey. He wanted Irvine to suffer and he knew the best way was to attack Tricia."
"Alright. I talked to Randy. I want you and Quinn to question Tricia's exes. With Barrett saying it was consensual, we need to know if she was indeed into rough sex."
"I'll call Quinn and get her to get the names of Tricia's exes." Vince nodded and walked out. Jon got out his cell and called Quinn.
"What's up Jon?"
"We need to interview the exes. We need their names."
"Hold on." Quinn said turning to Chris. They had went out into the waiting room while the doctor examine Tricia. "We need Tricia's exes" Chris nodded. "Okay Jon, there is Alex Riley, her trainer at the gym, Dwayne Johnson, he's a wall street attorney, and Justin Gabriel, he's a professor at NYU." She said as Chris told her their names.
"Thanks. We're sending another officer there for security and I need you to question them with me."
"Alright. I'll be waiting. Send Layla. She'll be more comforting than Stephen or Drew."
"I'll bring her with me."
Once Jon and Layla were there, Quinn and Jon left to go talk to Tricia's exes. She was scheduled to be released from the hospital in a day.
"So, who's first?" Jon asked her.
"Let's go see Alex at the gym. He will be able to tell us what happened at the gym that night. If Wade was lurking around."
Jon nodded and they drove to the gym where Tricia worked out. They headed in and asked the receptionist for Alex Riley.
"You wanted to speak with me?" Alex said walking out from the office.
"Alex Riley?" Jon asked.
"Yes."
"I'm Detective Jon Moxley. This is my partner, Detective Quinn Littleton. We would like to ask you some questions about Tricia Irvine."
"Alright." Alex said motioning for them to come into the office. "What did you want to know about Tricia?"
"We need to know about your relationship. Specifically if Tricia was into anything unusual when it comes to sex."
"You mean like bondage or anything like that?"
"Yeah."
"No. She was sort of old fashioned when it came to sex. She was up for trying new positions and a little dress up but she wasn't in to anything like that."
"Why did you break up?" Jon asked him.
"We just weren't right for each other. And I wanted to date others. I wasn't ready for something serious. So, we ended it. But we stayed friends and she kept me as her trainer."
"Thank you Mr. Riley." Quinn said as they walked out. She looked at Jon. "Why did you ask why they broke up? We were just suppose to find out if she was into rough sex."
"We needed to know why they broke up. I mean we don't want any surprises."
"You're worried about her credibility?"
"A little but it was obvious she was raped." He replied. "It's just we need to know her background in her private life."
"Jon, I'm sure there is nothing in Tricia's background would damage her credibility. She has always been a good girl. Sweet and kind. I heard all about her from Chris when he and I were dating. He's so proud of her."
"Don't let your personal shit cloud your judgment on this case."
"I'm not." She said to him. "Let's go interview her other exes and you will see I'm right."
He nodded and they headed to talk to the next person. He knew that when personal feelings got involved it made it hard and he didn't want anything to hurt the case. This was their chance to finally get Barrett off the street. And that was the goal.
