Quinn woke up and looked over at Tricia who was asleep. She smiled and grabbed her shoes and walked out into the living room. She stopped when she saw Chris standing in the kitchen.
"Where's Jon?"
"He stepped outside to take a call." Chris said turning to face her. "How's Tricia?"
"She's sleeping peacefully right now. So maybe no nightmares."
"Good." He said. "You want some coffee or anything?"
"Coffee sounds good." He nodded and poured her a cup. "Cream and sugar right?"
"You remembered." She smiled.
"Yeah I do." He said as he put it in.
"So, are you ready for the trial?" She asked.
"I am. It's weird that I'm not prosecuting but I know Randy will do a great job."
"He's the second best prosecutor in the office." Quinn said taking a sip of her coffee. Chris looked at her and shook his head.
"She's missed you you know."
"Who missed me?"
"Tricia." Chris replied. "She's missed you. She wasn't really happy when we broke up. She thought we were being stupid. That we belong together."
"Ever the romantic." Quinn laughed. "Wants everyone happy."
"I wonder if she will still be that way now. Or did he take that from her too." Chris sighed. "I'm just so angry with him. She had nothing to do with the case about Kaitlyn. She has never done anything but be nice and loving. No one hates her or could want to hurt her. But he did. Why didn't he just go after me? Why her? God, I want to kill him for this."
She put her hand over his and squeezed it softly causing him to look at her. "It's perfectly normal to feel that way. He's the scum of the earth. We're going to get him this time and make sure that he never hurts anyone again."
"I forgot how optimistic you always are." He said. "How you always see the silver lining."
"There's one in every dark cloud. You just have to look past the rain to see it."
"You should write fortune cookies or something." He said causing her to laugh which made him smile sadly. "Thank you Quinn."
"For what?"
"For being here for her." Quinn sipped her coffee again.
"It's no problem." She said as they heard crying from Tricia's room.
"NO! NO! Please don't hurt me." They both rushed to the room and to the bed. Chris shook his sister awake. "NO! Get away."
"Tricia, it's Chris. You're safe here." He said softly to his sister as she backed away against the headboard of the bed. "Tricia, no one can hurt you. You're safe here."
"Walk out." Quinn said as she pushed Chris toward the door.
"What?"
"Walk out." Quinn said. "She's not recognizing that it's you. I'll get her calmed down." Chris looked at her. "I'll take care of her, I promise."
He nodded and walked out. He saw Jon coming down the hall. "What's going on?"
"Tricia had a nightmare and Quinn is calming her down." He said as he turned back to the door. He hoped Quinn could.
Quinn looked at Tricia. "Tricia, it's Quinn. You're safe here. It's just you and me."
"Qu...Quinn?" Tricia asked sobbing.
"That's right sweetie. It's me. And you're okay. No one is going to hurt you. I promise." She said as she walked over and hugged her. "Just relax."
Chris stood outside the door with Jon. He desperately wanted to know what was going on. "I'm sure things are okay." Jon said to him.
"I hope so. I was hoping that she wouldn't have any nightmares but I guess I was hoping too much."
"It's common in rape victims. You know that." Chris nodded and they looked up when Quinn walked out of the room. "Is she okay?"
"She's okay. I gave her some of the medication to help her sleep." She replied.
"At least she's asleep." Chris replied. "I hate that she's having nightmares."
"She'll get through this."
"I hope so."
"She will." Quinn said. She turned back to the room when she heard Tricia call her name.
"What is it sweetie?"
"Can you stay here? Please?"
"Let me talk to Chris okay?" Tricia nodded as Quinn went to talk to Chris.
"Is she okay?" Jon asked.
"She is. She wants me to stay here. And I told her I had to talk to Chris." She said. "If you don't want me here, I won't stay."
"No, stay. I want my sister to feel secure and if you being here does that, then stay as long as you need."
Quinn nodded and walked back to the room. "Alright. I'm staying."
"Great." Tricia smiled. "I love my brother but he doesn't understand. I can't just forget what happened. I see it every time I close my eyes. And now I have to confront him in court."
"You have more strength than you give yourself credit for." Quinn said. "And you can do this."
"I hope so. I don't want him to get away with it. But I know it's going to be he said/she said. He is saying I wanted to sleep with him. That I like rough sex and I wanted it with him." She sighed. "I'm tired. Hopefully I can get some sleep."
"You just go to sleep and I'll be here when you wake up. I'll make one of those omelets you like so much."
"Great." Tricia smiled as she laid down.
Quinn walked out and to the living room where Jon and Chris were. "She's finally resting. I think the medication will help her sleep."
"Good." Chris said walking into the kitchen.
"This place is getting crowded." Jon said.
"Yeah. A little. Tricia's got the guest room, Jon's taking the couch. Where will I sleep?"
"You could share with Tricia or you could share with me." Chris said walking out of the kitchen.
"Um..."
"She'll share with you. And if Tricia needs either of you, I'll come get you."
"Okay." Chris replied. "If Tricia needs us."
"I will come and get you." Chris nodded and headed into his room. Quinn looked at Jon.
"Are you crazy? I can't share with him."
"Why not?" Jon asked. "It's not like you still have feelings for him right?"
"Of course I don't have feelings for him."
"Then it's not a problem." Jon replied.
She sighed and headed toward the bathroom. She quickly changed and headed into the master bedroom. She didn't say anything as she laid down. She just wanted to sleep. Chris walked in a few minutes later and climbed into the other side of the bed. She kept her eyes closed and tried as best she could not to make any movements toward him. They were both soon asleep.
