Chris looked at Quinn. "I knew they were going to do this. They were going to try and paint her into some whore."
"They want to discredit her and you knew they would."
"I know. But she isn't. Do you think the jury thinks that too?"
"I don't know." She sighed. "Justin, Alex and Dwayne will testify and everyone will see that she isn't what they are trying to make her out to be. You did a great job up there."
"I don't know about that."
"You did. And I'm sure Tricia will tell you that too." Quinn said looking toward Tricia who was walking over.
"Are you okay?" Chris asked her when she walked up.
"I'm fine. You did good up there."
"I tried."
"How about we go home and I'll make dinner? We can watch a movie or something."
"Sounds good. And you're going to make me watch The Care Bear Movie, aren't you?"
"Of course." She smiled. And turned to Jon and Quinn. "I hope you guys like Mexican. I make awesome quesadillas."
"I remember those." Quinn replied. "They are good."
"Great. Then let's go have a Mexican feast followed by junk food and The Care Bear Movie."
"Does it have to be the Care Bear movie?"
"Do I need to do the stare? Because I can."
"No, don't do the stare." Quinn said. "Care Bear Movie it is."
"I knew you would see it my way." Tricia smiled. "Now, let's head to the apartment and let me get cooking." They all headed back to Chris's place.
They were all sitting around the dining room table a little while later eating. "Well, how do you like my Mexican feast?" Tricia asked them. She had made chicken and cheese quesadillas and some cheese dip with tortilla chips as well as some tacos.
"If I eat another bite, I'm going to explode. But it's so good I don't want to stop eating."
Tricia laughed. "Well, I guess dessert will have to wait until later then."
"You made dessert?" Chris asked her.
"Of course. When have I never made a dessert?" She smiled.
"What did you make?" Quinn asked her.
"I made an Oreo Cheesecake."
"My favorite."
"I remembered." She smiled. "Jon, you like cheesecake right?"
"Yes, I do."
"Good." She smiled. "Okay, I will slice the cheesecake and we can head to the living room and watch The Care Bear Movie."
"Tricia, can't it be any other movie?" Chris whined a little bit. When they were little, she loved to watch that movie and made him watch it with her every single time.
"Well, we can watch The Princess Bride."
"Okay. Done. As long as it's not the Care Bear movie."
Tricia looked at him and gave him her pouty face. "And what do you have against my beloved care bears."
He looked at her and sighed. "Probably the fact that when we were little you made me watch it with you whenever you were sick. I must have seen it at least a million times." He turned to Jon and Quinn. "Please tell me you both are against The Care Bear Movie."
"I'll watch whatever Tricia wants to watch."
Tricia smiled. "See Jon is on my side."
"Yeah, yeah." Chris laughed. "Quinn, please tell me you are against the care bears."
"It has been a long time since I watched the Princess Bride."
Tricia looked at her. "Alright. No care bears. We will watch The Princess Bride." She smiled and put it in the DVD player.
Chris grabbed the pieces of cheesecake and handed one to Quinn. "Thank you so much."
"I love The Princess Bride." She smiled as they sat down on the sofa as Tricia started the movie.
"Ahh, cheesecake and The Princess Bride. The perfect way to feel better." Tricia smiled as they all got comfortable.
Pretty soon Jon looked up at the couch and saw that Chris and Quinn were asleep. "I guess they were tired." Tricia said to him.
"Yep. I didn't think The Princess Bride put people to sleep."
"They were just tired I'm sure."
"Well since they are asleep, any chance I could get you to watch The Care Bear Movie with me?"
"Can I have some more cheesecake?"
"Does that mean if I give you more cheesecake, you're watch The Care Bears with me?" She asked looking at him. "Oh you have to watch The Care Bears. The Care Bear Stair. The creepy evil face. The cute little bears."
"You don't have to convince me. I'll watch it with you."
"Yay." She smiled. She walked over to the DVD player and put in the movie. She walked back over to the sofa and sat down by Jon as the movie started. "This is always the movie that makes me feel better." She said once it started.
"Then we should watch it every day."
"I think Chris would have a problem with that." She laughed. "He hates this movie. He says it's a kid movie."
"We could always wait until he goes to sleep or he's out with Quinn."
She looked at him. "You would subject yourself to watching The Care Bear Movie every day by choice? Why?"
"Because this is the most relaxed you've been since this whole thing began."
She laughed quietly. "This movie has always done that. This one and Beauty and The Beast. I like tons of movies but those two always make me feel better."
"Good to know." Jon said. "Maybe we should wake those two up and make them go to sleep."
She nodded and shook Chris awake. "Hey, get up and go to bed. Your snoring is interrupting my movie."
"Fine. C'mon Quinn." He said getting up. "And for the record, I don't snore." He said as they walked to the bedroom.
"Well now that is over. I can watch the movie in peace." She smiled and looked at Jon. "You're still in to watch it with me right?"
"Yeah." She nodded and they got comfortable on the sofa.
Quinn walked into the bedroom and collapsed on the bed. "I'm so tired."
Chris laughed and laid down too. "Me too. I wish Tricia would pick other movies."
"The movies weren't that bad. And you do snore."
"I do not snore." He said to her. "I don't."
"You so do. You always have." She laughed. "And you have to admit that you like watching those movies with Tricia. It makes you feel like you guys are seven again."
"I could protect her then."
"Chris.."
"No it's true." He sighed. "Those movies remind me of when I could protect her. When I was the older brother who made everything better. Now I can't seem to do that. And no watching The Care Bears or Beauty and The Beast is going to fix it."
Quinn pulled him into a hug. "You're doing exactly what you need to do for her." She said to him. "Watching cheesy kiddie movies and eating junk food. Just doing what she wants. The things that make her feel better."
"You always did have a way of making me feel better."
"I'm just telling the truth. Tricia needs these little things right now. Like you said, things that remind her of being safe." She pulled back to look at him. "You're doing exactly what you need to do for her. You always have." Quinn said. "You're great at taking care of people when they need you."
"Thanks." He said softly. They sat there staring at each other before he finally said something else. "We should probably head to bed."
"Yeah. Goodnight Chris."
"Goodnight Quinn." He said as they both laid down on the bed. He tried to put the moment out of his mind but it stayed there. And he wondered if it meant more to her too.
