"Think of you"

Chapter 3: Engaged hearts.

Lea opened her eyes and frowned because the light of the morning was shining bright inside of the room. She looked around and found herself alone in the hotel room. Panicking, she thought that everything had just been a beautiful dream but she realized it wasn't the moment she heard the sound of the shower.

Shaun was already up.

She sighed and sat on the bed, her sheets falling to her sides leaving her completely naked.

This was, in fact, another proof of what happened the night before with Shaun

She saw her clothes and Shaun's at the end of the bed. He must have left them there since he hated to leave the clothes all over the floor. Lea remembered that they certainly broke a world record of undressing last night….

It was love mixed with so much desire and longing, the combination of all three made their reconciliation incredible.

Lea lay down again and sighed deeply, she stretched her arms and started to remember everything. She smiled while thinking about how much she had missed Shaun's presence next to her.

She closed her eyes and images of their encounter appeared clearly. She caressed her lips softly and she smiled wider remembering the fierced way Shaun had kissed her hours ago, his tongue just constantly caressing hers, exploring so gently yet urgent, she could almost feel the desperation of thinking about losing her forever in his kiss.

Lea put her hands on her neck and bit her bottom lip lightly, just remembering the way Shaun had loved her. She touched the beginning of her breasts and could feel the way he had adored that part of her body, how his tongue had passed through all of it and how it stayed longer in her pink buttons, estimulating her to the point her whole chest just erected in pleasure.

While recalling those moments, she touched her belly softly and sighed when the sound of Shaun's timid groan appeared in her memory. In a moment of extreme lust, she unbuttoned his pants and caressed his virality. He just couldn't help it and moaned her name several times over her ear, summing in the deepest delight while she continued with her caresses over and over again, just the way it drove him mad.

She moved her legs bustling, feeling that the memory of the night before was evoking nice but kinda steamy reactions. She opened her eyes and saw Shaun 's face, who always looked at her tenderly. Her heart almost exploded at the moment they became one again, after so long.

-Never leave me- Lea asked, almost begging, while their hips started moving at the same rhythm. In a silent yet so powerful language they both shared.

-Never- He promised in ectasis, closing his eyes to devour her mouth again and move even faster inside of her. Lea kept caressing his back and face still doubtful that this could be real. Shaun was just letting himself go, thinking that he was about to lose the woman he had loved the most.

And they managed to find their releases, and pleasure was echoing in several ways just like everything they were together. The Mutual shared love was screaming Lou about all the silence they had to put up with during their brief separation.

Lea's breathing was heavy remembering all this so vividly. So in slow movements she reached to the edge of her glory and massaged that part which contained her button of pleasure trying to find the release she found earlier.

She laughed out loud because of her sassines.

-What are you doing Lea?- Shaun asked, leaving the bathroom with a towel around his hip.

She jumped and looked at him feeling a little bit guilty, almost as if she was caught in something illegal. She laughed harder and her desire just grew having him right in front of her.

-Nothing babe… I was just thinking about you…-she said not keeping her eyes away from him- come here, I have to tell you something- she said and came closer to him. The sheet she had over her moved way and one of her breasts was exposed.

Shaun sat next to her, but he couldn't help to see her naked body. Suddenly, Lea grabbed him and pushed him closer to her.

-Lea… I'm still wet… my hair- he said trying to protest but pleased to feel her bare skin in touch with his.

-You came here to reconcile and that's what we will keep doing. You can take a shower later and if you want I'll take it with you- she said while taking his towel away roughly.

-Oh… OK…- Shaun answered with a smile, hugging her and grabbing her lips again while his body started to react to her very daring caresses.

Shaun was trying to catch his breath, still feeling shivers all over his body after that new round of love making and reaching his climax next to the woman he loves. He turned his head and drops fell off his still wet hair to look at Lea, who was also breathing loudly while setting her hands over her bare abdomen. She had her eyes closed and a wide smile was covering her beautiful face.

Feeling triumphant, Shaun thought that she had enjoyed this last encounter just as much as he did.

He moved and rested his body next to her and admired her profile and the way her curls were falling on the white pillow. The morning light was already ilumininating the entire room shining on Lea making it a perfect portrait.

He felt tired. That night and morning have been intense, and he has dwelled with so different emotions, first the fear of losing her for good and then the joy of being able to be with her again, to hug her, to be one with her.

His brain was working extra fast and sadly many of his thoughts weren't pleasant. As it was common of him he started questioning many things. He was always trying to be excellent as a professional but also in his personal life, and now a rush of negativity was settling in his mind.

-I almost lost her…- He said internally uncomfortable. He sighed and felt overpassed by anxiety.

He needed answers.

-Lea? - he said, alarmed.

-Yes Shaun…- Lea answered, sighing and looking at him. Shaun's heart skipped a beat half excited, half scared. He took all the courage he could and just questioned something that had been circling around his head for the last couple of weeks while trying to understand what was happening.

-Do you get tired of me?... is it exhausting to be with me?- Shaun asked in a whisper and stood still waiting for her answer.

Lea straight up and couldn't take her eyes away from him while frowning. This body language confused him and he thought she was surprised or mad. She opened her mouth to answer but Shaun didn't let her, he needed to say something else.

-Maybe you need someone different… someone who can understand better and who is not so difficult to handle… someone for whom you won't have to make any mistake.

Lea sat and shook her hair, analyzing Shaun's words. She felt sad for what he was saying, but at the same time she thought this was an opportunity to clarify many things once and for good. Shaun imitated her and sat too, anxiously waiting for an answer.

-Shaun… babe… I'm speechless- Lea said caressing his cheek watching attentively to his bright blue eyes. A couple of seconds passed and she smiled at him with loving and patient eyes.

Shaun felt that her smile was like a balm of relief to his heart.

-Just how you said it last night, I made a mistake trying to protect you from the words and judgements of people who couldn't see the smart and wonderful professional you are- Lea explained while enjoying the touch of her hand against his stubble- But what I feel for you is real, strong and different at the same time…

-Why is it different?- he asked, intrigued.

-Because I love being with you and even if it sounds selfish, I really love who I am when I'm with you. I have never felt like this, so happy…. So whole- she sighed and continued- yes, I would like to not make mistakes and to avoid painful situations but we can learn from this. Besides… I choose you… to be together forever… Please, don't ever say that again.

Lea stopped talking and hugged him, pushing him lightly to the bed. She laid part of her body on top of him and caressed his chest. Shaun hugged her by the waist, feeling more relaxed, breathing the scent coming from her neck.

-I just want to be with you… please let me. Don't overthink. I know it is hard to ask- she smiled- I love you just the way you are- she added hugging him tightly.

-I love you too Lea… I just want our relationship to be real… I want you to really love me, not just to be with me out of routine- Shaun said caressing the softness of her bare back, recovering that wonderful trust they have always shared, being totally honest with her.

-I'm not going to get tired of our relationship- She said straightening up to look into his eyes to kiss him softly on the lips- I love everything about you. Even that side of you, that you think none can love. We must overcome this together, like we have always done it.

That morning was becoming one of the most beautiful for them as a couple. They had breakfast in a small restaurant, laughed and then walked hand and hand alongside the beach, avoiding touching the sand. Lea knew that Shaun hated the sea, but he was baring it to be with her.

-Babe… we have to go back- Lea whispered while walking in the seafront- I don't have any more responsibilities at the hospital, but you do and it is not good that you are out for so long- added Lea looking at him with concern.

-I know… things are not right there and they won't get better at all. You won't be working there either and that hurts- Shaun avoiding to look at her but holding her hand tightly.

-Shaunie… I'm so sorry, but I feel it is time to go- said Lea calmly- the new policies are so unfair… While Salen is there in charge, I don't think anything will be solved and I wouldn't want to go back to work there to be honest.

-Everything has been so confusing lately- Shaun added meditating - I even considered leaving the hospital, but there is Dr. Glassman and I really feel comfortable with him…. Besides, it would be like starting all over again.

-That would hard, for sure… but not impossible- Lea said clinging to his arm- however, I think is better for you to stay there until the whole charges against the hospital thing is solve.,

-If I have to declare, I will say the truth, I'm not afraid- Shaun added, appeasing Lea's worries.

They continued walking and Shaun 's phone started ringing. He had several unseen messages.

-It's Dr. Glassman- he said checking them all.

Hi Shaun! Please communicate with me as soon as you can… I want to know how things are going with Lea. Park told me that you two met at the beach. Don't worry about your absence: I said you are sick…

-Is Glassy lying?- Lea said, raising her eyebrow and smiling.

Shaun continued reading the text.

It is important for you to show up tomorrow. Today during the afternoon Lim will expose some very concrete proof that will show the awful direction Salen is giving to the hospital… if everything goes well, it is very likely that she will leave, but it's not for sure. The members of the board are worried about the lawsuit and they will probably request for your side of the story.

Remember that to be honest and truthful is the most important always.

Tell Lea I say hi.

-Glassy saying hi?- Lea asked in shock.

-Dr. Glassman truly appreciates you- Shaun said- he was one of the most persistent to convince me to fix our relationship.

Lea was baffled, she couldn't believe what Shaun had said.

-The world is upside down- she said denying- I will have to go to the hospital and fight with him so the universe order is on track again.

-If they offer your job back… Will you take it? - Shaun asked, hopeful.

-If Salen leaves I wouldn't hesitate it- Lea answered smiling wide- That's why what I gave Dr. Lim is important to help to achieve that.

-And are you moving in with me again?- he asked anxiously waiting for a positive reply

Lea stopped walking and looked at his eyes directly.

-Of course, that's my home- she said putting in tiptoes to kiss his lips- now answer Glassy, that might seem at ease but I'm sure he is freaking out not getting a message from you.

As time passed during that beautiful day. Shaun thought that he was starting to dislike the sea less.

Throughout his life he had always collected smells, images and words. Most of his pleasant memories were linked to Lea, the smell of pine trees for example was synonymous with feeling in love for the first time.

Now the beach was becoming an important place, witness of their reconciliation.

It was getting darker and none of them wanted to leave. They sat in one of the benches in the seafront, they just stayed there feeling the salty air on their faces. Shaun looked to the dawn and heard the sound of the ocean recalling Park's words.

-The sound of the waves is harmonic and almost relaxing- he said out loud looking at Lea who was sitting next time with her closed enjoying the same thing.

-It is Shaunie- she answered, not opening her eyes but holding his hand tightly letting a loud sigh go.

Shaun just stared at her and remembered what they lived the night before.

Everything was rushed but wonderful. He had missed every inch of her delicate body, her curves, her legs, her abdomen… Everything. So for him it was like rediscovering her just like that first time they were together, but now trying to recover some of that wasted time.

He closed his eyes and felt her skin scent… So particular of her and one that evoked deep desires in him. And even now being so close to her, he felt the need to be closer. A night and some hours during the morning had not been enough to compensate for that lost time, and his desire remained intact.

As a matter of fact he thought that not even a lifetime would be enough to be with her.

The memory of her body arching when she reached her climax struck his head… and he could feel her petite figure trembling into his arms… to him that moment was incredible, he felt the luckiest and most powerful man on earth whenever that happened. His body reacted to the memories and he moved in his seat.

Grabbed her hand more tightly and looked at her again, he really wanted to go back into that room and love her for as long as their bodies could take it.

-I have to confess that I chose this place precisely because you hate it- Lea said suddenly, looking at his eyes and with that statement putting an end to Shaun's secret desire because he felt disappointed- if you knew that I was here, maybe you wouldn't come- she added.

-That didn't stop me- Shaun answered determinedly, recovering from the cold shower her confession made him feel.

Lea smiled tenderly.

-And I'm glad, because we have to talk some more about relevant topics- she said and sat over the bench to face him directly- we are living in a special moment, we have forgiven each other. But last night I said some things that I don't regret. We need to clarify our ideas, to make decisions and to make a compromise for real to this for life relationship.

This called Shaun's attention, it was the first time that she referred directly to their failed wedding.

He knew that he had to fix that… but was this the right time?

Lea sighed feeling that it was time to open her heart completely. They had approached the subject but she wanted to make sure to be clear about it. She was not going to allow for any more arguments to rise for this.

-Shaun… I deleted those comments and I didn't even think about much and never thought it could hurt you like that. In fact, I thought, and I don't want to make it sound like an excuse but I believed that it would be more painful to read those comments. I pictured your face after seeing that all your efforts didn't work… I just couldn't take it. That 's why I did it… I called Glassman but he didn't answer, and well… I regretted it as soon as I did it- Lea felt that a heavy weight was lifting off her shoulders.

-I understand- answered Shaun with absolute calm, because he already understood the situation better - Lea, for me it is important to read and know what others think of me because they are my improvement tools- he added seriously.

-But people are mean Shaun- she protested, remembering the terrible comments she deleted that night- and all this is too unfair… you have fought against so many things and faced so many prejudices. I hate when people are so closed minded.

-I know that many times people don't understand me- Shaun said looking into her eyes- it's always been like that... but I've overcome all the obstacles that have come my way in life, so I don't see why this situation turns into a problem.

Lea looked at him and she felt that she loved him even more if that was possible.

I don't want them to make differences with me. I want to feel validated- Shaun said firmly- I know I can get ahead but with everything that has happened I have also understood that my neurological condition influences on my emotions. Soon I will stop being a surgical resident and I want to learn more about how to control that as I will take on more responsibilities. I am not ashamed of my ASD because it is part of who I am and allows me to be a good doctor. But if that is preventing me from understanding the ones I love the most and interfering with my emotions, I should ask a specialist for help.

-The therapist thing has to be a decision that entails an absolute commitment on your part- Lea said seriously- I still remember that you didn't want to have him.

But that has changed- he replied with a renewed sparkle in his eyes.

-You are really admirable- Lea said squeezing her hand with energy- you are the strongest and most persevering person I know. And I, with this beautiful sunset that accompanies us, promise not to do anything that could offend you or make you feel overprotected. You are a strong man, who inspires many people, including me. Do you remember the cyber attack on the hospital? I was terrified but your words helped me to be brave.

-Thanks Lea- Shaun said looking at her with bright eyes- you gave me the necessary time to process everything and with a lot of patience. But I also made mistakes… I hurt you a lot when I called our wedding off.

As soon as Shaun mentioned that Lea felt a deep sadness in her chest. She was too excited about her marriage, which she was enthusiastically preparing down to the smallest detail.

He never thought that the talk would go that way so soon.

-Words hurt a lot- she said calmly despite the sudden sorrow she felt- we both must learn that.

The noise of the waves of the sea hitting the shore accompanied them with its soft melody. Shaun, too, felt that it was time for him to make some commitments to her.

-I promise to better manage my emotions and everything I express verbally- he said with certainty- I remembered very late a piece of advice you gave me a long time ago, when we were just getting to know each other: "never make an important decision if you are angry, sad , highed, or before or after having sex"... at that moment I was very angry and sad and I didn't think about what I did. I'm very sorry.

Lea looked at him in surprise and giggled.

-That's true! It is one of my most important life principles- she said with a smiling tone. She looked at Shaun who was a bit crestfallen and said -Shaunie, you have to get your confidence back. You are a brilliant doctor, and you cannot allow anyone to insult you or belittle your abilities and achievements. We will fight against that, even if it is against Salen herself and her horrendous system. I never want to see you so sad and overloaded… it would be very painful for me.

Lea knew deep inside her that they needed to broach the subject of her failed wedding.

-And regarding our wedding… The cancellation hurt me a lot. I was very excited and tried my best to have a wonderful wedding, but the dream collapsed in a few minutes, turning into a nightmare. I had to cancel everything… What's more, going back to San José I will cancel the reception of my wedding dress and see if there is any refund because…

Don't do it- Shaun said, interrupting her and opening her eyes in shock. Lea looked at him with a frown.

I have to get some money back- she replied ruefully.

Shaun felt a lot of guilt because he hadn't thought about all those details of preparing for a wedding. He felt real pain when he understood all the sadness that caused her with his silence and elusive attitude.

He looked at Lea and thought it was the right time to make amends.

From his jacket pocket he took out a small box, which he went to pick up from his apartment before going to go there the night before. He bought that present for Lea thinking that he could give it to her at her engagement party, but things did not go well and he wanted her girlfriend to receive it at an important and beautiful moment. He wasn't sure if this would be the right occasion, but a part of his brain told him that he was doing the right thing.

-Lea, I don't want this to be the end of our project. I broke up with the engagement and the wedding, and the most logical thing is that I make amends for the damage I did.

Shaun opened the little box and inside it was a sparkling ring. Lea looked at him with wide eyes and she thought that she would pass out any minute because she had stopped breathing in shock.

Lea… will you marry me? - Shaun asked with sincerity and some fear. Statistically something could go wrong... and he didn't say that... the numbers didn't lie.

Lea looked at Shaun and the ring alternately.

-But… What is this?-She asked without giving much thought to the situation and without immediately answering her question. He felt himself filled with a growing and genuine panic.

-I wanted to give it to you at our engagement party. Several people told me it would be a good idea, including Claire who called me from Guatemala to tell me that if I didn't do it she would personally travel to tell me off. It is something important, a memory of the beginning of a life together. Please… I want to be with you and get married in that church even though the floor squeaks loudly there.

Lea looked at him with tears in her eyes. She loved Shaun and she didn't have to think about it much longer.

Of course…I want to marry you- The emotion was evident in her voice as Shaun smiled in relief and sighed, coming back to life.

A few seconds passed where they stared and adored each other like they never thought they would in their lives.

-Babe... I think now you have to take out the ring and put it on my hand- Lea said in a cheerful tone, briefly interrupting the wonderful moment of love and serenity they were sharing in front of the sea.

Shaun, with quick hands, put the ring on Lea's finger, who was smiling as much as she could.

Suddenly, he remembered part of the lyrics of the song that had made such an impression on him the day before, and that helped him understand how valuable Lea's life was along with his own.

"Working the beginning of a story without knowing the end".

Lea looked at him with infinite love and took the collar of his jacket, drawing him to her face and kissing him with absolute happiness.

Shaun strode purposefully toward the residents' rest area. That morning he had arrived very early, moved by the nerves and the anxiety that the coming day caused him. He knew that he would have to face the medical board at any time of the day, and he had even prepared a list of notes in his little notebook, hoping not to forget anything.

Lea had helped him sort through his thoughts as they traveled back to San Jose the night before, and he was very grateful for that.

He smiled when he thought of her, happily remembering that it was all settled between them. He remembered her sweet smile and the shine of her ring on her finger, thinking that the idea of going to find her was the best thing he could do in his life.

And all of this he owed in large measure to the advice of Dr. Glassman and his colleagues. In the process he had also earned a few reprimands from Dr. Jordan Allen... and he remembered that he had to talk to her because as soon as he was free he would accompany Lea to her house to look for her belongings, since his girlfriend had already returned home.

When they walked into his apartment together the night before, Shaun felt a wonderful sense of peace, thinking that Lea's presence, her voice and laughter filled a space that was sacred to them. They decided to go directly to their room to rest, and they fell asleep hugging each other and grateful that everything was back to the way it was before.

And even though he had only slept for a few hours, he felt rested and refreshed. Waking up next to Lea had become a vital necessity.

He also remembered that if he hadn't listened to the lyrics of a certain song he would never have had the guts to go get the love of his life back. Her patient Gabriel had a very poor medical prognosis, but despite this, she saw in him gratitude towards his life, his wife and his family.

-Shaun! It's good that you're back- Asher exclaimed as soon as he saw him cross the threshold of the residents' room. He was alone, with a huge cup of coffee in his hand and with a tired face

And tell me... how did it go with Lea?-He added, asking with hasty interest.

Shaun looked at him surprised but at the same time happy, because he told him that everything had been arranged and that the wedding was back on track.

Asher smiled at the news.

Although this is excellent news, I don't know how Jordan will take it- he added thoughtfully as he drank her coffee -She loves Lea very much, and female loyalties are serious business.

-Once Dr. Glassman told me that if I saw someone I love very happy, I should be happy for that person- Shaun said sitting upright in front of his colleague- Lea is happy, we reconciled and I gave her an engagement ring, so Jordan has to be happy- he added naturally.

-Ring!- Asher said almost shouting with joy- and which one did you buy her? option 1 or 2?

Shaun blinked twice before answering. He had completely forgotten that to choose Lea's ring he had sought help through an online survey, choosing two options considering size, material, quality and budget. Only trusted people participated in the consultation.

-Option 1- answered Shaun with a smile

-Oh! I love it... I voted for that ring... it was wonderful- Asher said sighing, trying to imagine the romantic moment.

Suddenly, their cell phones began calling them urgently.

It's Gabriel- Asher said, jumping out of his chair with concern.

Both doctors rushed to the room, where Gabriel was developing a severe bronchopulmonary crisis. Shaun and Asher acted quickly and managed to stabilize him, but everything indicated that they would have to intubate him soon.

His son Victor found out about the sad news as soon as he came to visit him that morning. Asher calmly explained everything medically necessary to keep his father as stable as possible.

Intubate implies that he will lose consciousness and may never wake up again -Victor said, collapsing in a chair near his father's bed, who was asleep thanks to the medication.

-We must evaluate his evolution. Not all hope is lost- Asher explained calmly. Shaun watched Gabriel, who seemed to sleep in absolute peace.

We must be prepared for everything -Victor added, drying a tear that slipped down his cheek -can I accompany you, doctor? I feel that if I play the guitar he would be able to feel that he is not alone.

-We will request the corresponding special permit. I don't think there is any problem... he will enter an intensive care sector and the hours will be more restricted...

-That's an excellent idea- Shaun said, interrupting Asher- you play very well. There are studies that indicate that music helps some patients.

Thank you very much -Victor answered, looking at his father and not avoiding sobbing.

On one of the bedside tables in the room there was a photo of a woman with black hair and eyes.

She looked a lot like Victor.

Don't forget your mother's picture- Shaun said, interpreting who she was.

As a doctor he knew that Gabriel could die at any moment. For him the photographs were significant because they accompanied the memory of those who felt nostalgia for loved ones who were no longer in this world.

He remembered his brother Steve by their portrait set in a very special space in his apartment.

Once he was able to get rid of his work he took out his cell phone. He felt overwhelmed and worried, and only one person could comfort him as he needed at that time.

Lea. I need you to come to the hospital. Now

Lea's car, affectionately known as "the striped tomato," was quickly and skillfully parked in the hospital's first basement. As soon as she had received the message from her boyfriend, she rushed out of the apartment, feeling that the concern was constantly increasing.

Shaun had promised her that he would write to her in case of any eventuality, but the brevity of his message made her think the worst: maybe the lawsuit he was facing had escalated and his job was in jeopardy...or else the meeting had already started and he had left… he became nervous and could not continue with his testimony.

Lea shook her head, rubbing her temples anxiously and trying to take deep breaths to chase away her bad thoughts. She needed to be firm for him more than ever.

She took her bag and as she opened her car door she looked away at Salen Morrison. Her heart skipped a beat and she decided not to get out of the vehicle, carefully observing the new owner of the hospital that had caused them so much trouble in recent months.

Salen wore dark glasses and a rictus of annoyance was drawn on her mouth, very far from the false smile that she used to have in every corner of the hospital. Lea thought that as soon as she found out that she had prepared some documents where she explained the lousy evaluation system and algorithms to which doctors were subjected, she would automatically go on her list of enemies. She decided to do this for Shaun, for Lim, and because she felt it was an injustice that should be called out.

She was undoubtedly a powerful woman, but she was not afraid of her.

She took her cell phone and agreed to meet Shaun at the hospital entrance.

She walked quickly to her destination, where her boyfriend was waiting for her sitting on a bench. His clasped hands, straight back, and steady gaze told Lea that he was nervous.

Hello Shaunie- she said, sitting down next to him and kissing his cheek. She put her hand on his leg and looked at him with alarm- what happened? Tell me everything.

Shaun looked at her, sighed, and a relieved smile spread across his face. Feeling close to her gave him a very special peace. He took her hand and immediately felt comforted.

-The medical meeting hasn't started yet... it's scheduled for noon- he explained much more calmly- I just felt very anxious and somewhat sad.

-I know you're anxious- Lea replied more relieved, thinking that nothing serious had happened yet- but... why are you sad?

-I have a patient who is dying… we gave him all the treatments but we can't do anything else for him- Shaun explained with regret, unable to continue because he still wasn't sure what to say.

Lea looked at him strangely, but she immediately knew what to say.

-I guess you connected a lot with him… I'm really sorry Shaunie, but you have to be strong and…

-I learned a lot from him - Shaun said suddenly, interrupting her -he told me that every day I must tell you that I love you and that together we can tie our future dreams forever- he said remembering almost verbatim the lyrics of the song that Victor sang Two days ago.

Lea smiled and squeezed his hand.

-Shaun… I look at you and I see my whole future by your side- she said, reaffirming her recent confession.

-I think I'm still scared by everything that happened- Shaun said thoughtfully- I almost lost you forever and now I made you come to the hospital because I feel insecure.

-Quiet. Of course I would come as soon as you needed me- Lea said, feeling that she should encourage him and at the same time be honest with him, speaking directly what her heart dictated at that precise moment - Do you know what made us strong?- she added, looking at the clear morning sky.

Shaun looked at her carefully and she continued:

-First we cemented a strong and affectionate friendship that gave rise to an inseparable union. Then we began a loving relationship full of challenges. We go through joys, duels and uncertainties. But all this is part of life and we must be aware that more tests will come. We will always try to do things well despite adversity, strengthened by the love we have for each other. Sometimes imperfect things make everything perfect...

Shaun thought for a moment about his girlfriend's words. Then he stood up and invited her to sit up, extending her hand to him.

They both hugged each other tightly.

-There is nothing more important than us, and whatever happens today we will be together. In this city, in another or in any part of the world- Lea said in a whisper.

-I would love for everything to go back to the way it was before in the hospital. I sent a message to Dr. Glassman. He assured me that if everything is resolved, he will offer you your position as head of the technology area again- Shaun said as he rested his chin on Lea's shoulder.

She broke away from him with a smile, looking right into the blue eyes of hers that she loved so much.

-I see that your mood and hopes have improved.

-At your side everything improves Lea.

Together they entered the hospital hand in hand, feeling that the strength and love they professed could overcome any obstacle.

They were definitely two completely committed hearts.

THE END.
