"Now, remember to behave," a platinum blonde said as she approached a blue police box.
Something small and fast let off a small chirrup as it dashed through the young woman's legs as she pushed the door of the box open – ignoring the 'Pull To Enter' sign that was tacked onto the front.
"We don't need him banning you from his ship as well," she continued to call as her companion disappeared behind the console before she quickly added, "And stay out of the library!"
A small smile lifted the blonde's lips as her mind went back to when she first met her rather prehistoric companion; having pulled the Compsognathus out from the Doctor's console when the little guy had gone in search for food. Thankfully – for both Snapper and the Doctor – her prehistoric familiar was now old enough to realise that food was kept in the kitchen and not amongst the various wires and important parts of the TARDIS' console.
"Doc!" she called, her voice echoing around the console room and beyond, "Thought I'd pop in for a visit!" Snapper gave off another little chirp as he zoomed passed and the blonde grinned at the little guy. "Oh, and Snapper wants to sa-"
She broke off when her gaze fell onto a suspiciously familiar ginger tabby that was sitting on the console; its tail swishing back and forth as its feline eyes locked onto Snapper.
"Goose?!" the blonde squeaked in alarm, and the Flerken in question gave her a very brief glance before returning her attention onto Snapper as he continued to dash around the room; sticking his toothy snout into everything while he investigated his surroundings.
"Oh shit!"
The words escaped Raven as she looked – actually looked - around the console room. "This isn't the Doc's ship," she noted out loud with wide eyes before she suddenly rushed for the doors and back outside, needing to confirm that the TARDIS was disguised as a blue police box. Re-entering the ship, having realised that this was in fact a certain Time Bird's TARDIS and not the Doctor's, the assassin came to a halt when she found that there was an unfamiliar young man staring at Snapper as the Compsognathus eyed the man right back.
"Snap," Raven called as she watched the man, kneeling down slightly so she was closer to being the little guy's height. The Phoenix had never mentioned having been a guy before, though the assassin figured that this could also be a new look that the Time Lady was rocking.
The Compsognathus chittered before he rushed over to his mistress, and she ran her fingers over his head soothingly as she continued to eye the young man.
"Who are you?" he asked after a moment, and it was as if the spell that had been cast over the room had been broken.
Raven's shoulder's dropped in relief as a sigh escaped her.
He wasn't Nix.
"I should be asking you that," the assassin replied with a frown, suddenly curious to know when her friend had gotten a knew companion – and why she had never said anything to her about it!
"Raven?!"
The assassin's head turned quickly to the familiar and rather surprised voice, only to let out an ear-piercing squeal and rushed towards the woman who had appeared in the room.
"Nix! Thank the River Styx!" she exclaimed as she hugged the Time Lady tightly, "I thought that you had turned into a guy for a moment there!"
The Phoenix burst into peals of laughter as she returned the hug without hesitation. "No," she chuckled as she finally stepped back, turning her head towards the young man she guessed her unusual friend had been referring to. She almost let out a snort when she found that Mickey was watching them like they were a tad crazy, and she guessed that he probably wasn't far from the truth if one considered the company she kept.
The young man was startled however and jumped when Snapper brushed up against him as the Compsognathus chased after Goose – only to be promptly scooped up by a frowning Raven.
"Goose isn't a snack, Snap. No matter how much you might think she is," she scolded the dinosaur, who's head drooped slightly as she turned back to the others. "Sorry. He gets excited when visiting new places," she explained a little sheepishly as Goose made herself comfortable on one of the jump seats.
Although the Flerken made certain to keep an eye on the rather toothy dinosaur.
Nix blinked as she got a good look at the little guy in Raven's arms. "Is that a Compsognathus?" she asked curiously, and the blonde grinned as she let the Snapper down when he begun to fuss, not liking the idea of being restrained when there was so many new things to investigate and discover.
The platinum blonde's grin only seemed to grow as the moment she let him go, the dinosaur headed straight for Nix's companion – who was looking understandably nervous as the sharp-toothed, prehistoric carnivore started to circle him. "Yep," she said, popping the 'p' as she looked back to the Time Lady, "Created a black hole one day and the little guy fell out." Her grin turned almost manic as an unnerving glint appeared in her eyes. "You should see him with Fenrir. They'll take down anything when they're hunting together."
"Who's Fenrir?" Mickey questioned, glancing up to look at the platinum blonde as he hesitantly reached out towards Snapper to run a hand down the top of the dinosaur's back. Snapper let out a sound that was almost like a growling-purr and begun to rub his head against the young man's palm, almost like a cat looking for pets.
"He's my werewolf," Raven replied with that smirk still playing upon her face, and her response had Mickey's head snapping up to look at her; his eyes wide.
"You have a werewolf?"
Instead of answering, Raven turned her head to Nix; her expression one the Time Lady knew all too well.
"No."
The words were out of the Phoenix's mouth before the assassin could say anything, shaking her head adamantly when the blonde just pouted. "The last time I said yes, the Doctor didn't talk to me for a week after he found out that Fenrir had managed to break into his library and soiled his favourite chair again."
The platinum blonde continued to pout, causing Snapper to abandon the wide-eyed, rather confused Mickey and his head scritches to rush back over to Raven, having picked up on his mistress' shift in emotions. He chittered and nipped at the blonde's coat, tilting his head to the side questionably, and it managed to cause Raven to lose her pout, turning it upside-down as she gave in to his charms and ran her fingers over the spot she knew always itched under his jaw.
"And besides," Nix continued, letting out a sigh when she noticed her companion was also pouting at the loss of the Compsognathus' attention. "This is Mickey Smith," she introduced the young man, "My companion and brother," she told the assassin, emphasising on the last word.
"Oh?"
Mickey Smith suddenly found himself under the assassin's unblinking gaze, looking a little unsure as the platinum blonde begun to approach him slowly. He found himself feeling a little surprised when all she did was hold out her hand.
"Nice to meet you, Mickey Smith," she said, "And welcome to out wacky ohana."
"Likewise?" the young man said after a moment, though it was only when his had accepted her outstretched hand and shook it did his shoulders relax, realising that she wasn't going to do anything to him. He wasn't too certain why he got the impression that she could, but he was internally relieved that she hadn't.
"So, why are you here?" Nix questioned when the pair had finished, wondering what had brought the blonde assassin to her TARDIS. Though she raised an eyebrow when Raven was suddenly looking a little sheepish, one hand moving to rub the back of her neck as Snapper dashed back over to Mickey; the dinosaur using all his charms to get more scratches and pats from the young man.
"I was actually looking for the Doctor," Raven admitted after a moment.
The Phoenix snorted and shook her head. "Typical," she muttered, though there was a grin that tugged at her lips that matched the one on Raven's.
Suddenly, the TARDIS door flew open and the blonde ducked - just in time to be missed by a glass bottle that sailed harmlessly over her head.
"How did you do that?" Mickey enquired in surprise, seeing how easily she had dodged the bottle when it had managed to hit his ex.
The assassin just offered the young man a mysterious smile before turning her attention back to Nix when the Time Lady popped the bottle open. "Jack still calling you to get him out of trouble?" she asked.
"He's as bad as those brothers," the Time Lady remarked with an eyeroll as she read the letter, and a grin slowly begun to reappear on her face before she turned to Mickey and Raven. "Wanna sink a ship?"
"Sure," Mickey replied almost instantly, his face lighting up with the prospect of meeting Jack again. He suddenly had the urge to head to the closet and pull out his old pirate costume... and the bottle of rum he had managed to stash away the last time they had had a run in with the crazy, ship-losing captain.
"Can I bring a friend?"
Two sets of eyes turned to Raven, one more suspicious as the other before the Phoenix finally shrugged.
"Sure," she said, only to find herself once more being hugged by the platinum blonde and wondered if she had said the right thing.
"Won't be a moment," Raven hastily called over her shoulder as she created a black hole in the console room and stepped through, "You're gonna love them!" her voice continued to echo around the room as she disappeared from sight.
"Just one, Raven!" Nix called after her as the black hole disappeared, though let out a sigh as her shoulders drooped, realising that there really wasn't anyway to stop the woman.
"Who in the hell was that?" Mickey asked after he broke out of his shock once the black hole had completely disappeared, sending a glance to Snapper when the Compsognathus realised that his mistress was no longer there.
"Who in Hell, indeed," the Phoenix replied with a shake of her head, even though not seconds later she was rushing around the console as she flew her ship to where Captain Jack Sparrow needed her.
