Several days have passed since then. We were now working on the sixth airport. Working our way towards the closest one on the list. Could Amane really have just used the most convenient airport? Wouldn't that have made it too easy. If she did wouldn't Watari and Lucien noticed it back when the incident at Whammy's happened? Or were they just too caught up in the Kira case to properly look into the incident? The only other way we could possibly connect her to it would be to get our hands on her notebook. But.. I bite down on my bottom lip as I stare at the video. What if she had Rem kill everyone at Whammies' it was a good way to get in there and kill everyone without giving them a chance to notify Lucien or Watari. If that is the case then wouldn't pinning Amane be impossible? No, if anything else we could get her for being an accomplice with the evidence Lucien previously acquired but, I have the feeling that since he hasn't already pinned her with it. He would much rather have her for what she is. The second Kira.

That leads to the question though. If I lost my memories because I gave up ownership of the notebook and according to Lucien, Light Yagami never showed evidence of losing his memories. Then wouldn't that mean there are more notebooks? No, in the anime there were only two until Rem killed Lucien and Watari. That is when there were finally three. So where did this third notebook come from? What am I thinking? In that note on the USB, it told me I had created my own notebook. So with this newfound evidence, there were technically three notebooks. But then... If I did in fact manage to create one then would I be able to give up ownership of it like with the actual death notes? If not then what happened? Then if I could give up ownership would that actually be the death note the task force has in their possession now? It could be possible but Lucien says I lost my memories recently so it couldn't be right. In order for Higuchi to make the eye deal, it would have had to of been a real death note owned by a Shinigami. With Misa giving up ownership it would prove that he had the real deal but now there are still two people killing. One most likely having the Shinigami eyes since there are people dying whose names weren't even disclosed.

"Sapphire? Are you alright?" Lucien's voice broke through my thoughts allowing me to realize he had paused the surveillance video and was now looking at me. Rubbing my eyes I try and get my thoughts straight. Should I just tell him? That there is an anime called death note and everyone he knows including himself are in it except for me? That would be the only way I could clarify my reasoning as to why I am questioning the death note that is under guard by the task force. I could give it a try at explaining my thoughts leaving out the anime. Then it wouldn't seem so weird and unbelievable.

"I just had a thought." I spoke as I nip my bottom lip again. Causing me to pause as I mull through my thoughts to try and figure out how to voice them. "Pertaining to the two Kiras. We have deduced that there are indeed two of them killing again for they match the MO's of the original two. But, there is a death note in the hands of the task force. Which would lead me to wonder if Light Yagami is somehow accessing that notebook right under their noses. But, that can't be possible. You also said that Light Yagami never lost his memories which means he still contained a death note or at the very least he had given it up prior to Kira Lake's detainment giving her full ownership of his own death note. With me losing mine meant I had one too which is why I would suggest Light Yagami gave me his death note if not then... There would still have to be two out there for Amane and Light to use. These thoughts make me wonder about the authenticity of the death note that is currently in the hands of the task force. Since I didn't lose my memories until later meaning I still had the death note I was using when the task force got their hands on the death note they have. It's not like anyone ever tried it out to see if it was actually real. Besides you, everyone was too afraid to even attempt it. So, what if Kira Lake, had somehow come up with a way to replace the real death note with a fake when she had been captured by Higuchi. That still doesn't explain it though. One she would have had to be captured on purpose and two, she would have had to be the one killing when the task force was going through with their plans in capturing him. The evidence is... Kira was bound and gagged in the trunk of the car, so there was no way for her to do the killing for him while he was supposed to be killing. Light Yagami was with you the entire time so you would have noticed if he was writing names down by somehow knowing the name of the traffic cop. Which if Light Yagami is the first Kira like we suspect him to be then he doesn't have the power to kill with only a face. Also as you had proven when you looked through the surveillance of Misa Amane she didn't write in any form of notebook the entire time you all were chasing after Higuchi. She was just sitting back reading a magazine. Which would mean…"

"The Shinigami would have had to be the one to do all the killing for Higuchi. Though the Shinigami didn't seem too interested in aiding either Kira or even the police. They were... Emotionally detached. So it is possible that they were asked to kill and they felt charitable enough to oblige or.."

"Or it would have been the real notebook. Though, I would rather surmise that there are actually three notebooks so it wouldn't bring the thought of a Shinigami helping the Kiras. But, all evidence until this point shows there should only be two." I raised my hand with two fingers pointed up to go along with when I said two. I soon found myself standing and pacing the floor just behind the two chairs. "If that is the case then it is possible that the death notes still work even if a page is removed. This would be how someone was killing those that Higuchi was supposed to be killing if he did in fact have a fake death note. Also if there are only two then someone had to of been continuing the killing for they never stopped. If there were three notebooks then of course it would have been simpler but that would lead to suggest that Light Yagami had one, Misa gave up hers, and Kira had one. All three of them were in no position to do the killing for Higuchi which would lead us to believe that the one he had was the real deal but... As your files state, there were names inside the death note, excluding Kira Lake's, that didn't fit because they were still alive. It would suggest that he had a fake death note. But then.. that leads to the question of where the third one is and how could anyone have killed him if all suspects were under situations where they couldn't freely act?

"Hmm…" Lucien gave sounds of thought as I could picture him pushing his lip with his thumb as he falls into thought. "It is a long shot but when Kira was placed in custody I had gone through her bag. I found her mother's Book of Shadows which Kira claimed there was no way for it to actually work. But one note, in particular, caught my eye. I didn't think about it at the time for during the time period I had believed she was human. But... The tenth page in held something of interest.." He pauses turning to look at me as if expecting me to know what it says. Well, he was right but still...

"To see without seeing, to hear without hearing, to touch without touching. All of the aspects for one's astral self to be brought from the astral world into this realm. One must reach a heightened sense of awareness. Humans cannot generally obtain this without first dying." I speak as I close my eyes pulling the particular note in question from my memories. "It means to be able to move around, touch, even hear. Outside of the physical body but still in the physical realm. Humans generally do not have refined enough energy or even enough energy, in general, to be able to pull it off. Even with first dying, they are only able to have out-of-body experiences. Usually lacking in the full aspect of what the note is speaking of."

"Are you able to do it?" Lucien questions watching me as I begin to pace back and forth again. Am I? My memory is so hazy, but… My eyes widen as I halt my steps.

"I may not remember much but I think I remember something like it. According to the case documents I was detained for over 50 days. Even if it was revolving around the Kira case I should be able to remember something about it when I wasn't being questioned. But, as it states I was in meditation almost throughout the entire time. It is possible I was refining my energy in order to do such a thing. So with my thoughts surrounding the Death note in some way, I wouldn't remember what I was doing. If I was just meditating I should be able to remember it."

"So, thinking of it that way then it is possible that Higuchi did have a fake. The only way though would be to test it out."

"The only way we could do that is to get the task force to let us have it. Which I doubt Light Yagami would allow it." I speak now setting next to Lucien again with my legs folded in Indian style.

"What if we sent someone in to join the task force, they would have to show the evidence to the newcomer to bring them up to speed on the case itself."

"Then during that time, something would have to cause a distraction so whoever it is would have the chance of switching the book with a fake." I continue his thought. He gives me a smile before continuing.

"The person would have to be someone they already met and trust to a degree. As for the distraction that would be easy."

"We could always use the created S to get their attention on the computer again leaving that person without any eyes on them long enough to switch it out."

"Yes, and the only person they would trust beyond myself or Watari would be someone they know to have been used by me previously."

"With Weddy and Aiber gone though that would only leave one person." I realize now giving Lucien a dumbfounded expression.

"Yes, it would be the little mute girl that worked for me to give them Kira Lake's belongings. That would give her the fact that L trusts her to do the task so they would trust her as well. Also, they have previously met her and has proven they do not suspect her being S." Shaking my head I can understand how he would come to the conclusion but, it was still risky.

"There would be a chance that my cover will be blown." I inform him in case he had actually missed that part in his deduction.

"Possible but not likely. Especially right now while they are still grieving for Kira. Even speaking with Light who was the closest to her, he did not figure out who you were. I would say that it is a 70% chance that they will not figure out who you are if you do not actually speak. As for the role of S, I could easily play the part to give you enough time to switch out the notebooks." 70% chance? That would mean there is a 30% chance that they will figure out my identity. Then again. When he gives a high percentage like 70% Lucien is usually never wrong. They won't figure out who I am because he trusts that I won't slip up. Closing my eyes I give a slow exhale.

"Alright. But we will have to get things in order before even attempting this. Also, the girl I pretended to be had went home so we should at least give the time anywhere between a week to a two-week waiting period to make it seem real."

"I agree. I would say, let us finish these tapes then follow through with our plan. Judging by the times it has taken us to get this far I would say we have at least two weeks left." He speaks turning back to the paused screen. Yes, let's continue focusing on Amane at least until we have finished the surveillance. We will be able to figure out what to do next if we don't find anything on them at a little later time. It is always best to never get too far ahead of yourself so you may concentrate more fully. Yes, it's best to take Light's shinigami eyes away first before even attempting that plan. Taking my silence as an understanding Lucien clicks play on the video and we begin to watch the tape for the third time.

Although, with all that said and planned there is still the possibility Rem helped. In the anime, Rem was in love with Misa. Even killed Lucien and Watari knowing it would end in his death just to save her. Who is to say Rem wouldn't kill other people just because she asked him to. Even though I know this, there is no way for me to explain it to Lucien. Without coming out and saying, -I'm from a different realm and we are currently a part of an anime I apparently watched.- With knowing that I can only conclude waiting until there is no other possible choice but to tell him. Maybe as I get more used to my role as S, I may possibly find better ways to explain what I know without actually telling him.
