Right, so I finally figured out how to edit my pre-existing chapters and I went back, touched up the first two. I removed all the grammar problems and did some general story polishing. So, hopefully, it should read better now. Also, I saw that a few people were reading this, which is pretty damn cool. If you do read this, please drop a basic review with your thoughts and your opinion on where the story should go/end. Yes, my story will end with Hikari drinking from Himari, but little details on how that comes about, where it happens, who is watching when it happens, those are things I can change. Now, obviously, if nobody comments, I have my own idea already laid out, but it's open to suggestions. Cheers.

The morning was a nice respite from the previous day's chaos, if only because it brought a chaos of its own. Each school day morning, if it could be helped, the family ate breakfast together, and this morning was no exception. Hikari was back to her usual, peppy self and the twins were back to bickering like they always did. That wasn't the only thing that had gone back to normal, though. Koji had his usual cup of coffee brewing, his favorite apron on, and was busy making the girls' lunches. Midori was getting ready for another day at work, and, like clockwork, the girls went upstairs so Himari could fix up Hikari's hair, only for them to come back down about 10 minutes later where Himari started pulling on the hair after Hikari said something stupid.

"Knock it off you two, or you're gonna be late for school!" Midori said as she went out the door. At that, Himari stopped pulling on her sister's hair, running to grab her lunch from her father.

"It's not my fault that she's jealous of my awesome, vampire powers!" Hikari protested. Annnnd back to the hair went Himari.

"Big sis, what do I always say about trying to make yourself look good all the time?" Himari chided.

"Ow! OW! MY BRAINS!" Hikari screamed.

"I said that's enough, Himari." Koji scolded. "Now get goin', unless you wanna lose your attendance streak." It was more than enough to spur Himari on, and out the door she went. Hikari wasn't far behind, grabbing her own lunch and giving their dad a goodbye kiss.

"Love you, be home soon." She called.

"Have a good day, honey!" He called back. Once the door had closed, he poured himself a mug of his freshly brewed coffee and started on the rest of his day.

"Wait up, Himari!" Hikari cried. It didn't take long for her to catch up, given that her sister was only a few yards in front of her. "Let's walk together!" She said once she had reached Himari.

"Fine, but I better not be late because of you." Himari said. After a few more minutes of walking, they neared the large flight of stairs that led up to their school and noticed some commotion going on at the base of it. From the looks of it, a group of men, clad all in black, had set up a table on the left of the staircase, and a crowd had already gathered, partially surrounding them. They were handing out as many pamphlets as they could, to anyone who would take them and over the front of the table they had draped a banner with something written on it. The text was large, but Himari still couldn't get a clean view through the crowd, so she pressed forward to get a closer look, Hikari following close behind. Once she got close enough to see, Himari could clearly make out who the people were. In bold, white letters, the banner read: "DOWN WITH THE BLOOD TAX! STOP FEEDING MONSTERS!" Below the large text was a big white circle around the letters ADH. It was the "Anti-Demi-Humans".

"Oh, no." Himari said in a whisper.

"What's going on? Who is it?" Hikari asked, watching her sister stop dead in her tracks. Then, she saw it too. "Himari! It's them! It's the "Anti-Demi-Humans"!" She said in a panic.

"Yeah, I can see that." Himari said with a grimace.

"C'mon, let's just get to school," Hikari pleaded, "I don't wanna be anywhere near these creeps."
"We'll go soon, but first," Himari said, fury creeping into her voice, "I'm gonna give those assholes a piece of my mind." With that, she rushed forward, ignoring Hikari's attempts to stop her.

"Wait for me!" Hikari yelled, chasing after her. She knew how much these people hated vampires and, no, she wanted no part of being around them, but if they were around, she also didn't want to be separated from her sister. Himari started to push her way through the back of the crowd, and it didn't take long for her to reach the front. One she was up there, it looked like someone else was already doing her job for her, as she caught the tail end of some seriously heated talks between what appeared to be leader of this particular band of ADH, and one of the school's teachers, based off his coat and briefcase.

"…feed the monsters!" Shouted the man in black.

"You're the only monster here! I've seen the videos! Your 'group' attacks innocent people! You're all insane!" Came the heated reply. Himari knew that voice. It wasn't just any teacher. No, that was…

"Takahashi sensei!" She cried. He spun around to get a better look at who had called his name. She was expecting him to smile at seeing such a familiar face. He did not.

"Shit! Kid, please tell me your sister isn't here!" Takahashi pleaded, kneeling down to be at eye level with Himari.

"No, sensei." She replied quickly. "I mean, she's here, but I trudged into the crowd alone." A wave of relief splashed across Takahashi's face. He was starting to tell her to get out of there and find her sister when the moment was interrupted, as the man in black began to address the entire crowd.

"We are not insane!" He yelled with renewed fervor. "We do not attack innocents, only monsters! We have all studied long and hard so as to easily identify the blood-sucking filth and…" the man paused, looking just behind where Himari and Takahashi were, his eyes narrowing into a glare, "and, I will now demonstrate! There, my brothers and sisters! There lurks a vampire! The girl with the light hair!" He shouted with fury.

"Please don't tell me…" Takahashi said, turning around with a sad look in his eyes. And there she was. Hikari stood frozen where she was, like a deer in the headlights. Takahashi could see fear and confusion on her face, and he ran to shield her from the growing eyes of the crowd and the ADH, only…he was beat to the punch.

"Stay behind me, sis. If they wanna hurt you, they'll have to get through me!" Himari shouted defiantly, blocking Hikari's body with her own. Takahashi smiled at the admirable bond those two shared. Hikari sure was lucky to have a sister that cared so deeply about her. The moment passed, however, when the man in black started up again.

"My human brothers and sisters!" He shouted, with the righteous fervor that only a preacher can bring to bear. "This creature has tried to hide amongst you, doing all in its sinister powers to blend in with true humans, but do not be deceived! It is not your friend, and it will only ever take from you!" The man raged on, pointing at Hikari and staring her down. "You must give it your own blood in a sick system, or else it will attack you for it. We have seen it happen before!"

"Leave her alone, you jerk!" Himari cried, pulling Hikari tighter into her back.

"See now, my brethren, how it cowers behind others when confronted with the truth! See now how the vampire tries to hide from its rightful persecution!" He finished, voice thundering across the crowd and into the surrounding area. Takahashi moved fast and grabbed the man's collar, pulling him up to eye level.

"Listen here, you son of a bitch!" He started yelling. "That little girl is not an it, and she is one of my students!" Each of the man's comrades pulled out a can of pepper spray, seeing their friend being threatened. But before they could fend off the massive teacher, a new, more prevalent threat presented itself. Hikari would not stand idle and watch as others fought her battles for her. She wasn't going to let her sensei get hurt on her account. So, wrestling out from behind her sister, she charged forward.

"Stop! Don't hurt him!" She yelled rushing towards the table. The men there, being far more afraid of the vampire menace than anything else, quickly shifted their aim to address the oncoming threat.

"Stop the beast!" The man in black called to his compatriots.

Takahashi, for his part, saw what was about to happen, and rushed to shield his student, with Himari close behind her sister, trying to do much the same. Neither made it in time. Hikari was still a foot or two from the table when several cans of pepper spray opened up directly onto her face. The aim of the ADH was true, and the chemicals found their mark.

The resulting chaos saw the crowd disperse in a panic, people running every which way, covering faces, noses, and eyes to little effect. The pepper spray being used by the ADH was of quality, and if it got anywhere near your face, you were going to feel it. The ADH themselves were being chased off by school security, who had drawn their tasers after the demonstration had grown violent. They had been present the whole time, standing just on the first step of the staircase, but were not permitted to act unless something happened to change the peace. Now, they acted, and the ADH scattered, tails tucked between their legs. Takahashi had been in the blast radius of the spray, but he hadn't gotten hit bad. A little water splashed on the face, a little saline solution in the eyes, and he'd be right as rain. The same could be said for Himari, who was also just at the edge of the spray when it came. That only left…

"Hikari!" Takahashi shouted at the top of his lungs. Hikari, who had taken the full brunt of the attack had been forced into the fetal position, just in front of the table. Her hands, which had been too late to block even a drop of the spray, now desperately clung to her face. Both Himari and Takahashi reached her side and then…she started to scream. A terrible, blood-curdling scream.
