chapter 1
Warren Worthington the third was the son of Warren Worthington Jr. He was a Mutant his parents were concerned at first and considered a cure they heard about but they decided against after seeing what happened to 20 mutants who went through with it 18 died and 2 were permanently crippled and ill. So they taught him just be careful and they learned to love Warren as his is.
Warren loved himself for who he was too. Warren lived at the Xavier institute for the gifted it was for mutants. Warren was 26 at the time and was soon going to be 27. He had girlfriend about six years back they loved each other very much until one day she had to moved and they lost contact with each other. Warren misses her everyday.
But soon he was about to get something very unexpected coming to see him at the mansion where the school was. Warren was sitting on the couch thinking about something when there was a knock at the door. He opened it, "Hello," he said. He saw no one there. "Huh," he said.
"Hey!" he heard a voice said.
He looked down and saw a little girl with blonde hair and bright blue eyes. "Oh hello," Warren said.
"Hi," she said.
"Why are you here trying to sell cookies or something?" Warren asked and the girl started to go into the mansion. "Hey you can't just walk into random people's houses," he said.
"Sorry," she said. "I was just," she said.
"Don't you know not to talk to strangers, didn't your mom ever teach you that?" Warren asked.
"Yes," the little girl said.
"Well where is she?" Warren asked.
"Mom died several months ago so she's in heaven," the little girl said.
"Who is with you?" Warren asked.
"My father," she said.
"Well he's probably worried sick looking for you," Warren said.
"No he's not," she said.
"What are you saying?" Warren asked.
"I'm saying he's looking at me," she said. "You dated my mother Brenda Callon before she moved, my name is Hannah I'm your daughter," she said.
Warren was shocked and as were the other mutants there. "Warren how did you not know," Jubilee asked.
"Yes what happened Wings?" Logan asked.
"Well guys Brenda I dated for a few years were very in love but never got her pregnant," Warren said.
"Didn't she move sometime ago?" Rogue asked.
"Yes I visited her as she was packing and we..." Warren said. "Does anyone want juice?' he asked.
"When did this anyone want juice happen?" Scott asked.
"About 6 years ago." Warren said.
"Sugah how old are you?" Rogue asked.
"5," Hannah said.
"How can we be sure she really is your kid?" Remy asked.
"Well there is a resemblance," Jean stated.
"Only one way to be sure is a DNA test." Beast said.
"Here," Hannah said handing Warren something.
"What's this?" Warren asked.
"My birth certificate," Hannah said. "Your name is on the birth certificate," she said.
Warren looked at the birth certificate. His name was on it alright.
So he decided to get the DNA test. Once at the doctor's office the test was being done they took blood from him and Hannah. Then the results came in. "Congratulations Mr. Warren Worthington the third you have daughter." the Doctor said.
Warren was pretty shocked and took Hannah back to the mansion and told the others. "So she is your daughter Warren," Logan said.
"Yes," Warren said. "How come Brenda never told me," he said.
"Who knows why it could be any number of reasons," Magnus said.
"Yes maybe she worried and scared for one reason or another and decided to keep it secret." Charles said.
"Well now that Hannah is here should we make her feel welcome?" Jubilee asked.
"But we don't know where her mother is or how Hannah got here," Beast said.
"Hannah where is your mother?" Charles asked.
"She's in heaven there was fire at her work place and she didn't make it out in time she was badly burned and she died from her injuries before she got to the hospital," Hannah said. "I was put in a foster family here in New York and they are mean. The foster mother doesn't treat me like her own children and the father forced me to sleep on piece of cardboard in the cold damp basement they told me no one would want me because I was a homely worthless child, after my foster father and mother hit me really hard leaving this bruise, I ran away, I was wondering if I could find anyone who could help, mom always told me about the x-men and how my father was one of them I thought maybe I could find my father or the x-men and they could help." she said.
"Hannah well I may not have known you existed but I am here now I am willing to look after you," Warren said. "I promise I will take care of you," he said.
Hannah smiled and remembered something. She pulled something out it looked a bit old and worn. "She said she always wanted to send this to you but couldn't find the strength to do so." Hannah told him.
It was a letter and Warren saw it and put it in his room.
Then a bit later Hannah's social worker came. She was looking for Hannah. Hannah was worried and clung to Warren. "I am looking for her she ran away from her foster family and they want her back." he said.
The foster family came up. "Yes we need her because the money from foster care we need to pay for our bills and things for a children," the foster mother said.
"You treat me badly you don't let me even get full meals like the rest of the family," Hannah said.
"You are foster child our kids get things you don't and you are worthless," the foster father said.
"She is not worthless," Warren said.
"Who are you?" the foster mother asked.
"I am her biological father," Warren said.
"You abandoned her," the foster mother said.
"I didn't, my girlfriend never even told me she was pregnant after she moved, I tried contacting her many times to find out what was going on, and now after six years this girl came to the doorstep of the Xavier institute for the gifted and told me about what happened to her mother and the DNA test that we had done show's she is my daughter if I had known about her existence earlier I would've been there for her every step of the way," Warren said. "She told me that you two mistreat her and you forced her to sleep in the basement on piece of cardboard, and that you to hit her hard recently," he said.
"Only cause she cried in public for missing her mother being a pain," the foster father said.
The social worker heard that. "Do you have any injuries from that?' she asked.
"Yes," Hannah said and showed the bruises on her arms.
"We still have legal custody over her," the foster mother said.
"She is my daughter and I have good lawyers," Warren said.
"Who are you anyway Mr. I have good lawyers." the foster father said.
"Warren Worthington the third," Warren said.
"The mutant son of Warren Worthington Jr. please like you would win the case, you are a pathetic mutant," the foster father said.
"She will be back in our custody you will see," the foster mother said.
Then they left. "I will help file the case," the social worker said.
Hannah was still clinging to Warren out of fear.
"Don't worry Hannah I won't let them take you from me," Warren said. "I will call my lawyers," he said. He called his lawyers and explained the whole situation they agreed to help.
The case was soon going to be brought to court. Warren's parents heard about Hannah and asked to meet her. Warren took Hannah to his parents place. Hannah was a bit nervous. Would he grandparents like her? Her mom's parents were no longer alive so she didn't know what it was like to have grandparents.
Warren knocked on the door and a butler answered the door. "Hello Curtis," Warren said.
"Greetings young master Warren," Curtis said. He saw Hannah. "That must be the young miss," he said.
"Yes," Warren said. Then he went inside and Hannah followed.
Warren's parents appeared. "Hi son," his father said.
"It's good to see you," his mother said.
"Where is she?" his father asked.
"Here she is," Warren said.
Hannah shyly was hidden behind Warren. She looked at Warren Worthington Jr and Kathryn Worthington. "There she is," Kathryn said.
Hannah was still feeling shy. "She's a bit shy right now," Warren said.
"It's okay we don't bite," Warren Jr. said.
"She's been through a lot recently." Warren explained.
"Poor dear," Kathryn said.
"Hannah let us get a good look at you," Warren Jr said.
Hannah quietly came out from behind Warren and looked at Warren Jr. and Kathryn. "Oh she's a lovely little girl," Kathryn said.
"She's so beautiful," Warren Jr. said.
Warren then explained the whole thing about Hannah's foster parents and how he was going to court to win custody over Hannah. His parents agreed to help and hire some investigators to help.
Hannah was plenty nervous she was staying with Warren until the court date arrived. Hannah was pretty scared. The court date was in a couple of days and she was going to testify. She never done anything like that before so she was scared to say the least.
Warren was getting ready for the court day.
The day in court came. Warren's lawyers came in and along with some witnesses they found and evidence. The foster parents told their side of the case how Hannah was an abandoned child after the death of her mother and how they need her at the house to be part of the family.
"Hannah tell us what happened at your foster home," the judge said.
"They are mean, they don't treat me like their own child and make me sleep in the cold damp basement on a piece of cardboard and they beat me hard for just me crying and missing my dead mommy," Hannah said and showed the healing bruises.
Warren's investigators showed the evidence they had gather and Warren explained his part of the story and everything. The judge after hearing everything and talking it over with the jury he made his decision.
"After looking at the evidence the foster family loses all custody of the child and the father has full custody of the child." Judge said and slammed down the gavel.
Hannah was relieved to say the least now she was going to live with her father. She wondered what it was going to be like. Now Warren had to raise his newly discovered daughter on his own. How will he handle it? How will both father and daughter handle it?
To be continued.
